Absolutely terrible. It was the worst treatment I have ever received at a pawn shop. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE if you want to be treated like a human being.My boyfriend and I went in this morning. There were four people working and a few patrons. After explaining that we recently moved across the country and needed some extra cash, they had the nerve to make fun of us IN FRONT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS while three different workers passed us off to each other. It was our second time going to this pawn shop; my boyfriend tried to buy a bike that they were asking a ridiculous price for. The owner told him it was so high because he doesnt get enough bikes and always needs them. Today we brought a bike in and he looked and said what the hell do you think Im going to do with a bike? He then proceeded to try to tell me that a sapphire ring I brought in had a lower gold content than it is stamped with. It is an estate piece that Ive had evaluated and appraised by two separate jewelers, so I know he was lying. If youve read this far, then PLEASE be smart enough to go somewhere else. Theyre all jerks.

This shop is top notch. Today I had the pleasure of selling a broach and chain to Ernest and from start to finish the experience was nothing but class. Brothers Collateral is a first-class pawn shop with high quality goods and very experienced and helpful staff. The Brothers in the name isnt just for show, it really is run by two brothers, Rudy and Ernie. Ive dealt with both of them before and they were quite knowledgable about a wide range of goods. Rudy mentioned that his father was also a pawn broker, so this really is a family tradition, and they treat their reputation and customer satisfaction as top priorities. They also have a great selection of guitars and other instruments. Its located very close to Hollywood so when Im in that area its easy to swing by.I am interested in classic electronics (like 1950s radios) and Rudy had seemingly encyclopedic knowledge on that subject. I ended up buying a 1950s West German radio that Rudy brought out of the back room, suggesting that I take a look at it after Id told him what I was interested in. We negotiated over a price and it was a fair and pleasant experience, no hard sell or aggressive tactics, like Ive expereiced at some other places. Ive also bought some jewelry there as a gift on more than one occassion, and always left a happy customer. Whenever I need to use a pawn shop this is definitely my go to place.

I live in the North East Valley and I drive the distance to Brothers, its worth it! I have been visiting Rudy and Ernie Gintel (the brothers) for over 20 years, and IMHO this is without a doubt the best pawn shop in LA. Great assortment of guitars, amps and collectibles...and of course that amazing display of jewelry and watches. Friendly and informative, and always something new to see...and their prices are good too.Huell Howser did an episode on Brothers, #1714, interesting to learn that the shop started with their dad and mom...and mom Shirley still does the books!
