Great food. I would give 5 stars but the wait is in total 1 hour. The food is cooked at your order. ( fresh ). Great food and service. Not much space. Only 1 waitress and 1 cook so be prepared to wait about 1 hour for your meal. And they close at 1 pm. Only breakfast and lunch.
Its very sweet this girl. My hair she made so awesome. She always listens to me exactly what I want and the result gives me great pleasure and satisfaction. She entertains me throughout the service and never hesitates for my full satisfaction to answer all of my questions. Just keep it up. Keep it up. Very advisable!

Anytime Im in California, we will stop by here. It was our first time and the young lady that waited on us was amazing. She had a little girl about 7 or 8 helping her teaching her the ropes and she did awesome. Food was delicious. We had chicken and waffles, smoothed potatoes, biscuits, and a cheese steak. My husband, kids and myself we very pleased! So much to look at,nice and clean! You wont be disappointed!!
They were at capacity so we couldnt enjoy the great food there. But be sure the family will return.
The best coffee shop in town, serving not just the best-tasting coffee and teas, but also delectable salads and sandwiches. The flavor and a little kick of spice from the curry with the toasted bread was incredible. This coffee shop is mostly for those who get up early, such as myself. Strongly advised!

Yesterday I had breakfast at Watts Coffee House, there was a total of five of us. I had not been to WCH in a long time, I use to go frequently but after yesterday, I will not be returning! I drove pass the location three times. I did not recognize the parking lot as the majority of the lot has been taken over by a swap meet! After ordering we waited an hour for our food. When we inquired about the wait we were told theres only one cook and the App orders are prepared first. The waitress acknowledged she should have informed us when we placed our orders. When my food came it was NOT worth the wait. The grilled salmon croquettes were over grilled and dry. The grits were tasteless. The scrambled eggs were good. My great memories of WCH were destroyed yesterday and I really regret that!
This place is great to enjoy a cup of coffee, get some work done, and grab a quick/light bite. I love coming here on weekends to read a book or work on my laptop. Everything was fresh, I have never gotten something I didnt love, from the coffee to sandwiches. The staff was great, awesome service, everyone seems to love working there.
The coffee that the waiter served to me was ashy and caramel. I like it so much. It must be my first time here in your shop, but I greatly have quality time. Also, I loved the attitudes of the waiters. They wore a smile when they served customers and entertained us well. Besides, I felt comfortable and relaxed when I was around this shop. Thank you!

Gotta get the chicken here. It is unREAL. Delightfully crispy and crunchy. They have an amazing breakfast menu and very friendly customer service. Without I doubt I will be coming back here.

The coffee here is as good as the best coffee I have had at home, and the smoothie bowls are really yummy too. More importantly, the coffee is superb so much so we brought some home. The varied menu and staff are great!. Good service!
If you are a coffee lover, this coffee shop is the best place to go! Excellent coffee, and I can tell that the baristas are very passionate about delivering high-quality coffee. One of them especially knows how to make lots of cafe latte art, not only the usual leaf and heart. Im also addicted to their Piccolo Latte. A must try!
I like the ambiance of the place because it was so relaxing, and if you have something to work on, then you can stay here to finish your work. The staves were so accommodating and courteous. You deserve to be at the top! Highly recommended!

They have perfect coffees for my stressful mind. Also, the crews were serving me too well. All of their coffees were worth the pay. Knowing that they did their best to make me feel so calm and happy, I’m nothing but overwhelmed. I’ll come to visit again and again!
At first I got confused cause it looks like abandoned school (see pic) but once inside you won’t be disappointed. It’s a cozy little spot and the food was delicious. The waitress was attentive to our needs and made suggestions (what I like, kudos to her and the cook). It does need some upgrades but its no biggie. The music, atmosphere and the service was awesome along with great food. You won’t be disappointed 👍
Nice, and solid, full-bodied, and not as expensive as some of the others Ive tried before. They have a nice taste in coffee and a fantastic service overall. The environment is so comfortable and the internet connectivity is fast. I will highly recommend this coffee shop to someone who likes coffee.
They hardly ever answer the phone. The food be inconsistent. But when they on point they dont miss! The only reason I come back is because of nostalgia, and thenfood whenever theyre available
Horrible I swear food is ok but the wait is always over a hour so what the point !!! The food is not worth the wait or price.. I just order my food the lady says an hour and a half wait so I say never mind I don’t wanna wait that long she say oh it’s too late I already charged we don’t do refunds.. How is it too late if the food takes an hour and a half to make never again
The cake I ordered tasted like frosting was made from margarine instead of sugar. It sounds thick instead of soft texture when youre consuming it. But first of all, I went there for coffee, so I had three cups. Not a caffeine addict, clearly, humor aside. No milk, just plain coffee, and I loved it all. Ive had a nice time here!
The coffee shop has a great range of products to get that holiday belly growing, and the food is great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All served by happy helpful staff. This place was next to our hotel, so we were lucky enough to be able to enjoy this often during our stay.

It has a cosy feeling and its decorated with beautiful paintings. All is simply wonderful, including lemonade, tea and coffee. They have a great selection of options for drinks and some food. Ive been here a couple of times and I feel welcomed and valued every time I come in. I really recommend this coffee shop to everyone.

I am not into coffee, but I was invited here by one of my colleagues. I was persuaded when I looked at the menu, so I ordered one for myself. The food was delicious and the workers were very helpful and polite. The atmosphere was very relaxing and cosy. The coffee was outstanding and super delicious. Im going to suggest it and visit it again!

The atmosphere was fantastic with amazing nice staff. They could also be able to serve a great coffee. We were so enjoyed reading pocket book that they provided while savoring the tasty coffee. I would definitely come again, and I would recommend this to everyone.

They should really take the time to make sure that everything is included with your meals, like utensils, and condiments. Food is pretty good, wish my home fries could have been diced a little smaller, but the favor is on point.
Worth the wait!I always order two of The Luciens with a hot coffee! Eggs are always fluffy and cheesy to perfection (perfect with hot sauce) and their french toast is always Heavenly! Forever a fan!! I love the subtle powdered sugar and how the edges of the toasts are crispy. Dreamy.

Service was horrible!! The cashier was rude and the manager on duty was even worst. Very unprofessional, environment. Cashier gave me what was left in the back, argued with me that I had ordered what she gave me,which I would have never because my husband is allergic to what she gave me. I was refused my correct order, as well as my refund. Manager on duty as well as hostess told me that I had missed the mark 1pm) and the register was closed until after Labor Day, so come back Tuesday and talk the manager. I was told no refund, although we didnt order what was given and couldnt eat it. The manager on duty said the owner would be okay with how things were handled. Over seventy dollars was wasted in this establishment and they continued to argue with me about what they gave me was what I ordered. It was not!!! Id never recommend this place and never will I ever be back.

Only drawback is that I ordered again and again, and time and again the order is accepted and 15 minutes later it is cancelled without an explanation. They shouldnt advertise delivery when they dont. I called and asked if they were open the person who answered the phone said yes we are open till 1:00 p.m.. I got there at 12:39 and was told they stop taking orders at 12:30 p.m. I drove from Redondo. It would have been helpful if the person who answered the phone had informed me of when they stop taking orders. To come in and be told they would not take my order was RUDE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!

Some folk talk a good game about community development.....then theres Desiree and her team at Watts Coffee House. They respect and love their customers. The Coffee House is on 103rd & Wilmington. Dont let the parking lot or exterior of the building (in need of repairs) discourage you. The business is inside of the main building. The Coffee House is a jewel and you feel like you are in the 70s-Which is great. The food is tasty and a bargain compared to what other places are charging. I mean, who else has legit Shrimp & Grits for $7???? Anyway, they would love to earn your business. Shout out to Sophia who is part of the wait-staff.

Yesterday was our first time we came to that good restaurant. But It is absolutely not the last time. We had great time with the attentive service, with the fine meal and wine and with the friendly price. We will absolutely return there soon.
We also stopped by for afternoon cakes which were gorgeous, the chocolate brownies and the banana and pineapple muffins were to die for! In the busy city,it was a pleasure to get an excellent sandwich and great coffee.

Have not yet been to The Morrison although it has been on my list forever. However, due to COVID19, I decided on takeout. I ordered through UberEats and waited for my food. The first thing I noticed when I got the food was that everything was sealed including the bag it was in. Due to the ongoing pandemic, I really did appreciate this detail. They also provided utensils, plenty of condiments and chocolate mints (love chocolate mints). I ordered a few items from the menu to try:1. Ribeye Steak and Fries - This was probably my least favorite item. The steak was overcooked and a little bland. And, the chimichurri was not as flavorful making the steak a little bland. The fries were really delicious.2. Cornbeef sandwich and fries - Enjoyed the cornbeef sandwich (and of course the fries). It is on the smaller side.3. Mac and Cheese - Really enjoyed it. It was creamy and rich. They do give a lot, so I had plenty of leftover4. Bread Pudding - I thought this was a little too sweet, but I had a few bite and it was pretty good (and very moist).All in all, I thought that the food was 3.5 (however, I am thinking that had I eaten the food at the restaurant, some of the items might have been a little better). But, I am bumping my rating up to a 4 because I really did appreciate the small touches that they had (providing sealed bags, condiments, and sealed utensils) that eased my worries about ordering food during the pandemic. I am definitely hoping to go to the restaurant in person sometime soon.
Food is good excluding waffles. Anything you order its alot of food which is good for sharing. Service is very slow. It takes 30 minutes to take your order then another 35-45 minutes to get your food. Refills are rare because its only one lady servicing everyone. Ive been a few times just to support. The outdoors has potential of being nice if they throw out everything and start over with basic outdoor sets with umbrellas. They can use another server and cook and maybe theyd see growth. As long as Im not starving...Ill go again.
The food here is very good! The service is also great. It’s a little hard to find, nestled inside of another building that looks to be a shut down school or tutoring center. It’s pretty small inside but has a lot of historical significance and memorabilia. It’s super cozy and has a family feel. There’s also outdoor seating. Very good, I hope to return soon!

This spot is wonderful. The food is excellent, and the overall experience (or atmosphere) is marvelous. My grits and eggs were cooked perfectly. The grits (were not instant grits) were cooked to a thickness that I like. The eggs were scrambled soft. The wings cooked crispy golden brown. The atmosphere it is derived from the African American historical perspective. Going in I felt like I was stepping into my old southern Grandmas house. The familiar warmth and welcoming pulled me in. It takes time to cook good food from scratch for a house full of folks. Bring your patience. The place has old features that indicate the economic conservation efforts made to maintain a home (restaurant - of course) for longevity in depressed conditions. There is a damp (or moisture) odor, not urine smell as described in some hateful reviews. The folks are hospitable, while working diligently. There are pictures, artwork, and things covering the walls that are histrionic of the long African American experience displayed on a small canvas area - the walls. My folks were in there eating, and their presence on the wall representative of my past. Youngsters coming in being respectful, and ordering grits and eggs, indicating a connection to the past through food. My folks... I shed a tear of joy for this place as I walked out through the door. Please support this spot. Bring your patience.
We were on a 3,000 mile long road trip, this was our first stop to eat off the plane. It was the best food we had the whole time. When I think about characteristic foods from Mexico or Italy, theres some all stars that stick out. Watts Coffee House is characteristic American food.I had waffles, grits, and some kind of fried chicken sandwich with a coffee. The food was excellent. Top notch savory sweet breakfast food. The little waffles were light and fluffy. They could be pulled apart and dipped in syrup, so good!Also, the most affordable place to eat, come in hungry, theyll hook you up!
I adore this cafe!!!!! If only it wasnt so popular, their breakfast selection is divine. Im a fan of the avocado toast and their fresh brewed teas.I do appreciate they dont offer WiFi until the crowd gets a tad more relaxed, this allows people to be able to eat there and then in the afternoon those who want to study are able to do so.I cannot recommend this place enough!

HEADS-UP: come here for the food, not the coffee. The coffee is store-bought grounds and standard drip in a styrofoam cup. This is a coffee house in the old sense, not the hipster sense. But the food is sublime.

Great food. Theyve got that OLD SCHOOL flavor. That goes for the food and the atmosphere. The service is a little slow. But, I did mention the GREAT GOOD & ATMOSPHERE.

I went after a volunteer event in Watts on a Saturday morning and had a great meal. The wait for food was a little frustrating at first until I learned that it is made from scratch. If you’re in a rush, order in advance or go elsewhere. When you finally get the food, it is worth the wait. All the memorabilia on the walls provide lots to look at while you wait.
Great atmosphere, great people, great music, live DJ and great food.
