We came here to have a little snack, before we go see hamilton at the pantages. My husband ordered a breakfast croissant sandwich and I ordered their brioch breakfast slider *egg, bacon... and we both got matcha with oatmilk. The breakfast foods were good, especially the brioch bun, but the matcha tasted soooo gritty thats why Im removing one star, for a coffee place it would be nice if they use a higher grade matcha.
My friends and I asked for food to eat here and the “manager” which he works in the kitchen brought the food inside boxes and when I asked why, he said he just prepared what it was on the receipt which it was a lie. Then he proceeded to tell me he won’t get any plates dirty for us and if we don’t eat and leave he would call security to take us out. HORRIBLE SERVICE AND FOOD!! Do not come here!!!
Always my go too when in town. Love the menu, the staff & the photo opportunities! Favorite place to start my mornings, enjoy my coffee & watch the wonders 😉of Hollywood.
The coffee from here was just okay, though the atmosphere was great. The horchata iced coffee was delicious for those who enjoy cinnamon in their coffee. The cheese croissant was tasty, but not as moist as Ive come to expect from fresh baked goods.
It wasn’t the worst I had but we won’t be coming back. Over priced. Ordered a egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and it was cold cheese wasn’t even melted. Very weird vibes from the space and employees too
Had a iced horchata that was good but wanted a pastry that looked really delicious and saw little flys flying around hem🙁
Place was a total rip-off. We arrived for breakfast and there was barely any breakfast food left. Menu said “fresh orange juice” but we saw it being poured straight from a gallon. Horrible service. No COVID compliance by the staff (masks leaving their noses off).
The place and the the service were excellent wish I had more time to spend there but was on break, first time there and will make time to go back for more!!!
Walked here at 4 on a Thursday and y’all were closed! 😭 Normally great coffee though. What are your actual hours?
Definitely don’t understand the 3+ stars. Bagel sandwiches were bland, eggs seemed microwaved. Doesn’t even come close to justifying the price they charge for them. The avocado toast was the same- microwaved egg HARD, brownish avocado without an ounce of seasoning. Young lady at the register was as cold and nasty as the food. Come for the coffee, maybe. Not the food or the service.
The horchata latte was delicious, but the mocha left a lot more to be desired. The coffee was subpar, but specialty drinks were good. Plan accordingly.
The staff was very friendly and its a cute spot, but Im pretty sure the milk they used in my latte was expired - it was undrinkable. The bagel wasnt that great either.
Poor customer service. I walked in and no one greeted me. Walked to the counter and a girl name Polina was at the counter no smile no hello just staring at me. I mention it’s our first time here thinking that she would livin up or give recommendations but No just staring at us like we’re taking a long time to order. The menu was also confusing. She finally charges me for my croissant and I see cold on my ticket. I tell her I would like it warm and she refuses unless I switch breads. So basically she was unwilling to tell the cook to warm the meat. The other employees were very quite as well. I definitely would rather go to Starbucks. Ate the food and its ok......Very basic for the price. I paid $11.99 for poor customer service and an ok sandwich. Thanks but no thanks.... I didn’t even purchase a drink because I refuse to spend another dollar........Your customer service should look like Hollywood if that’s where your located.
Don’t go here if you’re in a rush! Barista with the painted nails was extremely laid back and definitely not in any rush on the Saturday morning that we visited (14th Sept). Atleast the americano was hot when we finally got it! Breakfast bagel and chia pudding were both pleasant. Would definitely recommend one of the cakes with crumble on top - was the highlight. Fast WiFi and tables with lots of power points!
You can’t adjust what to blend in your bowl. My toppings said banana, strawberries & granola & I didn’t get my banana toppings. Also when I asked to add peanut butter in the blend, it came on the side instead & it tasted so bland & water down. Very unhappy customer. . . .bowlology is the best!
Good coffee. Great service. Got a code on receipt to use the restroom.
One of the best coffee shops Ive been to, so many outlets and great internet speed. I had the yogurt parfait and a cold pressed juice and worked from the co working space for a few hours.Friendly staff, clean coffee shop and good music.2 years later and my expectations for coffee shops have changed. I don’t enjoy getting a Togo cup when dining in. #zerowasteThe donuts are delicious.
SUPER STRONG COFFEE. Fast turn around time on breakfast sandwich order. This place was is walking distance from my apartment.
Staff are aloof. Barbecue chicken sandwich is very small with drier than expected ciabatta; nothing to brag about. Not worth the price tag IMO.
Well the atmosphere and styling is unique and modern. The service was awesome, lines move fast, and people are very friendly. But the thing youre coming in for the coffee, was in my opinion is just okay. With our visit we got two separate items, an expresso, and a cold brew coffee. The cold brew was decent, in the expresso was on the not so good side. But on a brighter side everyones taste on coffee varies wildly. So by no means am I saying dont come here, Im just saying keep in mind this might not be your palate. Food did look really tasty!
Food was trash. Coffee was trash. Service was trash
Great spot for breakfast, great coffee and clean restrooms
The avocado toast I ordered was terrible! The bread was soggy, the avocado tasted rotten. Will not order from here again.
Highly recommend. Breakfast croissant sandwich worth avocado add-on & coffee. Delivery. Will definitely stop in another time. ☆
New place to study. Ambience is great and the baristas are so nice. They asked to alter the drink recipe if it was too sweet for me even though I dont ever ask to alter anything. So ya great customer service. I ordered the charcoal latte, I loved it. Plenty of seating/tables, outlets and 4 hr wifi. Be careful on parking though. The parking in the back side of this coffee shop is not free!!
Charcoal latte ftw!
Excellent service and good food quality. I went early on a Sunday morning so parking wasnt an issue. 😊 I ordered the egg and cheese sandwich with bacon and lavender vanilla latte 😉
Love the breakfast silders!
Worst experience ever, the staff so rude!!!!
Lots of outlets, open WiFi, really chill atmosphere. I loved it here. Had the mocha lavender latte and it was unique. Not sure if I’d order it again but it was pretty good.
Awesome shop, people, services, staff, & atmosphere. Truely enjoyed my visit and time here as staff was helpful accommodating and knowledgeable of the selection available. Doing all with the feel good attitude that extended beyond expectations. As they were preparing to wrap the night, they kept their customers inside well aware of the time, giving us more than enough time to finish without feeling hurried or rushed. I will definitely remember to come back and explore more of their menu and enjoy the atmosphere here again. Big thanks again to their management and staff for providing great service with a pleasant feel.
Acai bowl was a large portion but was expensive and plain. Very little toppings and watered down. Also tart and runny. No good. Im sure their coffees good.
Delicious! One of the best sandwiches Ive ever had! We ordered one meatball and one godfather. Both amazing. Will definitely return. And it really is all about the bread. Soft on inside and slightly crunchy on the outside. Like those baguettes you get at French bakeries.
I was big into skateboarding as a kid so I really liked this place because of the skateboards all over the walls. I stopped in here for a quick coffee one day and I love it. The cold brew was great, and the inside was very inviting. Looks like a great place to meet people or get some work done. Highly recommend it!
Legit flat white. The baristas are well trained and they put attention to detail. I’ve been coming here for 3 days in a row and the brewing is very stable.Today, I had them redo my order and they there all smiles and everything.I would frequent this place if I were a local.Highly recommended
Absolutely fantastic food. We loved it being a mom and dad place local business to support the neighborhood. I want to try everything on the menu. We had the pot roast sandwich and chicharons which was superb. Keep the horseradish mayo for sure! It really makes it all the more better. The empanels and the desserts are to die for! All homemade and yummy! Well done Vanessa and hubby!
Great prices considering the area and a lot of seating. Not too busy on a Sunday.Great place to sit and work or meet friends.Restroom is for customers only.
The food is ok. But staff is rude and lazy, and treat you like a homeless. Never go there
Came in to order brunch to go and was about to order but got a call, I normally find it rude to talk in line area but the ladies were patient and polite. Then, I had a slightly specific order, raw veggies on side, bread had to have no seeds, etc. They were not only polite but so helpful in choosing. On top of that, all the sandwiches and pastries and matcha tea were excellent quality. It was all neatly packed and very delicious. I will certainly come back to this place when I visit again. I am visiting from Europe and I will certainly recommend to anyone who asks me if I know of good places to eat. I love simple and honest food.
The counter staff was friendly, coffee was fresh but the food was $$pricey! For half the price of their croissant = full breakfast at Norms! . The atmosphere and a place to plug-in was pleasant. The ladys bathroom was horrible including feminine products on the floor?!? Yuck
Definitely a hidden treasure. I have enjoyed coming here each time. The gentlemen are sweet and get down in the kitchen Try it out when wanting a sweet, breakfast, or lunch that is packed with favor!!Good Work Guys!!!!
Pretty much an average coffee shop in Hollywood. They do sell marijuana mixed coffee these days so it could be a nice thing for tourist to try. A little bit pricey but their location is great.
The place is nice, coffee was okay. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and it took a while to get my order on a pretty slow day (only one other customer infront of me). Guy at the front counter didnt have the nicest attitude when I asked about my order and simply said oh I didnt tell you it can take up to 10 minutes turned around and walked away. It had already been over 10 minutes!
Horrible service. Expensive prices. Mediocre food. Ruined my trip
If half stars were an option I would probably have given 4 and a half. Nice spot on Hollywood Boulevard which was surprisingly not busy considering its location. The deduction of half a star would be due to heavy price and slightly unprofessional service. Ordered our meal at counter and went to sit down. Only available table was full of crumbs. Once server came to deliver food he dusted off the table with his hand and onto floor and said thats as good as anything, right?. Ordered Turkey sandwich and BBQ Chicken sandwich. Both were really really nice. Like mentioned above at $8.99 for a sandwich I felt it was on the expensive side but was really good and I felt worth it. Also have toilets for customers only which were fairly clean and appreciated in a place like Hollywood Boulevard where decent toilets are few and far between.
Delicious, fresh subs with a variety of bread options including Dutch crunch and soft sourdough. A small is around $7 and is certainly not small. It comes sliced in half and a small could feed 2 people. A great to-go option!
It was a great experience, with knowledgeable people and tasting of interesting coffee. Absolutely lived up to my high expectations.
Prices are steep but the food does not disappoint! And they have huge donuts you can share. House-pressed juice was actually really good! I would eat here again.
Nice place
Great location for those traveling to Hollywood or using the metro train. Fantastic breakfast sandwiches and a crew of baristas who are all talented and down to earth. The perfect place to charge up or meet someone new.
Great food! Prices may seem a bit high, but you actually get quite a bit of food. I ordered the tuna salad and it was huge. Staff are friendly. Place is very hip and clean as well and sits very close to the walk of fame.
Cute concept. Good coffee and plenty of seating. Lots of natural light. Seems like it would be a great study area with the versatility to hang out with friends. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because the barista was rude.
Great matcha tea and breakfast sandwiches. Fun ambience! Nice people.
Weston and kalynn went here so 5 stars
Chill and Relax. But not reccomend ver y much. Coffee is normal, simple syrup is not sweet.
I write for a music and coffee blog called Crooners In Coffeeshops, in which I interview local musicians at local coffeeshops. My writeup reflects the positive experience that I encountered at Rise N Grind on our interview date.Located on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Wilcox Avenue, Rise N Grind found a perfect home that allows them to serve every tourist, local, musician, filmmaker or comedian that walks into their spacious, naturally lit shop. An exterior color palette of black accents amongst white bricks is replicated in its interior with the use of warm brown wooden tables giving a tasteful pop of color to what could’ve been another modern-styled coffeeshop. What really catches the eye though is their choice of decoration. Large chalkboard style artwork with quirky coffee sayings line the highest points of the walls while coffee sacks are used as accent wall artwork at the back of the shop. However, the incorporation of skateboard decks to showcase their shop offerings and logo mural really steals the show as it adds a fun playfulness to the overall vibe of the shop. No matter what the reason for your visit is, you absolutely will not be disappointed with spending your valuable time here. Now, since you’re admiring their skateboard deck menu you might as well order something right? If you’re ready to spend a fair amount of time there working (yay for outlets!), there is plenty of food options for you to choose from. Breakfast is served all day, so all your favorite baked goods (including the unofficial favorite food of Angelinos – avocado toast) as well as egg sandwiches and fruit dishes are readily available to you at any point of your stay. Looking for more of a lunch-type meal? An array of delectable sandwiches and salads make it hard to choose between carbs or a healthier option. Once you’ve chosen something to munch on, it’s now time to turn your attention to the drink menu to pick between an invigorating caffeinated beverage or a fruit-infused smoothie. They’ve got your go-to coffees and classic teas, but you can’t help but be intrigued with the lattes on their specialty menu, which includes flavors such as horchata, charcoal, turmeric and beet. I went for a Hair Bender Drip Coffee paired with a cream cheese danish for a perfect amount of zing for an early afternoon visit, but I will definitely be making another visit when I’m back tromping through the Hollywood area again.
Hip coffeehouse offering Homeboy pastries, Stumptown beans, free WiFi & plenty of power outlets.
Dog friendly ! Great staff!! Awesome place! Sal and his crew are super nice and always on point! If you havent stopped in yet you should!!
A cool place to grab some coffee on Hollywood Blvd but the service seems to be pretty slow every time Ive visited. I ordered a Charcoal Latte based on a cool photo I saw on Instagram with foam art and it came out looking like a toddler made it, pretty disappointed. The donuts were good though.
Coffee was pretty good... The breakfast sandwich wasnt great, but not terrible either. Nice relaxed atmosphere. There are limited breakfast choices in Hollywood so yes, Ill go back.

Very nice, fresh coffee and an affordable price. Also good music selection that gave nice vibes.
Delicious food, though I wasnt the fondest of the whipped cream on top of the french toast. Enormous bread and extremely tasty. Would definitely go back to try more dishes.

This was a really trendy coffee shop. I thought it was cool that they offered cbd pot shots with their beverages. Since I decided to have a smoothie I did not try the pot shot, but the orange mango smooties was great as is. My only issue is that its a walk from Hollywood and Highland but worth the trip.
The barber really takes his time making sure my fade looked great. Most shops try to rush a haircut in order to service more people, but never here. Ive come 3 times and I dont plan on changing anytime soon
Such a cute coffee shop and serving up some string brew highly recommend
Very cool atmosphere and the BBQ chicken panini was amazing!
This place is rad! Bagel yesterday which was great but the oatmeal today was splendid! Please make an effort to go if your nearby
Breakfast? Theyve got it. Lunch? Idk because I wasnt there for lunch. But overall it was a legendary experience. Cool design.
Environment is clean and spacious. The service is professional, down to earth and willing to assist! Location has free wifi and bathrooms are nice.Pro tip for those with a sweet tooth and palate for these flavors: Get a Lrg Iced Chai Latte, add Horchata..... Youre welcome.~Theo
