My friend and I went to your cafeteria Last Monday morning. I was very happy because the staff greeted me politely. I also observed that the food was very delicious. Amazing view, delectable drinks, and delectable food! This is a must-see when visiting this place. If you come in the afternoon, bring a hat because the sun is high. My recommendation is to go at 3 p.m. to enjoy the sunset and nighttime city view. Our server was very attentive and gave us some tips for making the best of the rest of our visit. Id be here the next day!

Easy to place order. Food is delicious

Went to Homegirl today for brunch and left very satisfied. My boyfriend and I split the chili relleno grilled cheese, which I read was very popular, with a side salad. The grilled cheese was more than filling and all of the veggies in it were seasoned perfectly. We got it on the sourdough bread, which I highly recommend. The sandwich also came with egg on it.The side salad was light and had a delicious dressing.

Best tacos! Had the house coffee that was delicious with right amount of spices. But the best of all was the service!!! Thats why this place deserves 5 stars. Guy who served us was fast, polite and very friendly. Also I was able to get a desert from bakery without a need to change our table. Definitely recommending this place.

I love this cafeteria, not only because of their food but also they were accessible in the city. They were near the metro and bus station. The environment inside is very neat and airy. I love to sit on the couches because it was so cozy. They have the best home cooks here!

The menu is not that extensive but the taste is good. They have good vegetarian dishes here. This place helps former gang members to get out of it and get a better life. If you want to support their cause, then its worth checking this place out.

Clean, modern interior with new equipment. Staff is friendly and smiling! Restaurant and bakery is a training facility for former gang members, founded by a Catholic priest. Chilaquiles are perfect! Huge serving! Best strawberry lemonade ever!

I love this place!They have the cafe as well as a store (T-Shirts [Kids sizes too], Jerseys, Hoodies, Coffee Mugs, etc.) to help support what they do. Which is to assist former gang members begin a new life away from the all encompassing violence that stems from the gang each one used to be in.All that they make is delicious, their cafe and bakery is excellent and they source their 3 organic gardens that they own, so all their food is organic.Their bakery has numerous types of breads, scones, muffins, cookies and great quality jams & jellies, etc.I bought these from their store while I was there, the book is about the man (Jesuit Priest) who started Homeboy Industries and is Executive Director of it.I highly encourage you to support them to help many get trained in a new vocation and move forward into a far better and safe life for them and their families.Oh, be aware that they are only open till 2:30pm each day, but if you arrive between 2 & 2:30 baked goods are 50% off. 😀🍞🍪🥧

You MUST try the carne asada tacos. They are so delicious!!! They have excellent customer service! Everyone is so friendly.

SECOND VISITA week ago a friend and I met up for breakfast and I am upgrading to five stars because of server Latisha!FIRST VISITI arrived around 1:00 PM on a weekday, so there still was a good lunch crowd but plenty of empty tables. I found it odd to hear a greeter asking patrons are you here to eat and I was asked the same thing. What else does one do at a restaurant? Did I miss something, like maybe they have a secret drop-the-soap-in-the shower room? (Sorry, I couldnt help myself.)Anyhow, I did wait for a few minutes to be greeted and seated. It seemed like there was some type of musical chairs going on because two women were at the table where I was being seated and the greeter ushered them to another table (maybe they were waiting for a booth to open and they want single patrons at the two-person tables only). The man who seated me was pleasant and polite, but it was odd he was seating me and re-seating them at the same time.I was already familiar with the menu (having studied it online beforehand), so I was disappointed to find they were sold out of the mango beverage but enjoyed the green beverage (Angelas Potion, $4). I ordered the veggie grilled cheese ($11) and the waiter forgot what dressing I wanted for my salad, so he brought two kinds on the side which was cool. I used the avocado dressing for the salad the lemon dressing as a dipping sauce for my sandwich. I dont know if they only have one type of bread, but presumed as much since he didnt ask what type of bread do you want?I did ask if the jalapeño pesto is spicy, which I am now learning is a dumb question to ask of anyone as our tastes can vary greatly. Next time I will order it on the side because it does have some bite. It had more bite than I would have wanted, but it did not ruin the sandwich.Unfortunately, the sandwich was soggy, which I wasnt too thrilled about, but to be expected when using fresh veggies on a sandwich. By the time I got to the second half, it was too wet and messy to pick up, so I asked for a knife and everything was fine. The server said he eats their sandwiches wearing gloves, which I got a kick out of. As it was I had several napkins as a bib so as not to soil my anti-Trump resist T-shirt. Even with gloves, this sandwich would just make a mess of ones clothes, so be forewarned.Despite the sogginess, I can honestly say this is the best-tasting and most creative grilled cheese sandwich I have ever had, and it was huge! The accompanying salad was not huge, but a decent size and it wasnt any Mickey Mouse salad, but one with nutritional and tasty European greens and some other stuff, I think maybe shredded jicama, but dont quote me.The dessert was rather disappointing. I believe what I had was the mango upside-down cake; however, the bill says Brunch Mango. When I ordered, the server insisted I have ice cream with it and since he had five teardrop tattoos under his eye, who was I to argue with him? (Just kidding, he was very clean-cut actually.)The cake was odd because one portion of it was kinda dry and not too sweet (which is my preference [the not too sweet part]) and then another portion of the same piece was very sugary. Every portion of the small piece was different. I am not a baker so have no clue how that would happen, whether it is just the nature of upside-down cake (like the ingredients didnt mix well or what). When the server inquired about it, I told him what I thought and he said something like Youre supposed to mash it all up with the ice cream and I was thinking Now you tell me. Since I was hedging on the ice cream, he only brought a small scoop, so maybe next time I will get it as intended and mash it all up. I have a feeling the recipe for this cake must have come out of Orange is the New Black or Prison Break, and that is not a compliment, especially at a price of $7.Hopefully, on my next visit, they will have a different dessert OR the current one will be made different OR I will have a server demonstrate how it is to be properly consumed.

Home Girl Cafe has amazing one of a kind food. The tastes here are diverse as the hard working people that take care of this place.Parking is a bit tight but it is right off a gold line stop show theres no excuse to not try it out.

If youre flying out of LAX terminal 4... youre probably flying American. Which means there is a better than even chance that your flight will be very late or canceled. Youre going to need some sustenance.Homeboy has a beautiful, fully stocked display case with pastries that look lovely. But you know, theyre not going to be very good - there is just too much and youre in a hallway at LAX.A coffee and a muffin will set you back $10 - which is standard at the airport. The lines here arent usually as bad as Starbucks. And there are plenty of pretty options. Get some yogurt or fruit too. Youre going to be here awhile.

Excellent Place to hang out with family and friends. Please try out the tacos and the are super delicious, even they serve very good pastries. They have a good collection of refreshing drinks. I loved the ambiance of the place.

Wow. Wow, wow, wow! This place is awesome! I get their chips and mango salsa (bring back the Mango salsa!) at the grocery store all the time. Then someone told me that there was a cafe, so I had to check it out. I am glad I did. Got here for breakfast. Nice variety, knowledgeable staff and fresh baked goodies! Fabulous project started by Fr. Greg Boyle. Business with a purpose, how refreshing. The food and people are awesome, a lot of love in the atmosphere. Unique decor and compelling fresh menu. Right next to Chinatown and the Gold Line.

The food was decent. I recommend getting the pancakes. But I gave this place 5 stars because of the Waiter Luis (tall guy with tattoos). His service was top notch, he was friendly, and nice. If hes your waiter dont skimp out on tipping him!!! Overall excellent experience

This is a great place to eat while doing good. You can enjoy the food while helping folks from the hood. Now dont get scared seeing the guy with a tattoo on his head, hes getting his life together rather than spraying lead. So Homeboys you got my vote, I just want to say I am proud of what youre doing with this little note.

I got here after closing but they but they were still willing to sell me some cupcakes. They gave me a good deal, 2 for 1. My cupcake was a little dry. I might give this place another chance.

A really cool place located between Union Station and Chinatown. The concept of Homegirl Cafe and Homeboy Industries is what brought me to the restaurant in the first place. The cafe has an upscale layout and the service was friendly and quick. The sandwich I ordered (turkey on ciabatta) was absolutely delicious. Definitely worth the $11 menu price. Great place to come for lunch. I am definitely returning soon!

Homeboy Industries takes former gang members and teaches them how to re-enter society. Removes tattoos gives job training and how to behave politley. Homegirl cafe is one of its places training people. The food is good, freshly prepared every day. If you are in the area eating there is a worthwhile contribution in addition to the good food.

Came here for breakfast on a Friday. I was able to find street parking about a block away, 2hour metered. I was very happy with my meal and service over all.The fresh juice, Angelas potion, looked gross but it was delicious and very refreshing. The chilaquiles with eggs and potatoes were great and very filling.The portions were huge. Service was quick and friendly. Will return to try other items on the menu.
