So much better than the last time we visited!Food was so fresh and hot and not burnt. Waitress was friendly and very informative of the difference between a calzone and Stromboli. Food did take about 45 min and we were 1 of 2 tables but it was still well worth it. So much meat in the calzone and great flavor.
Food is always good BUT the atmosphere is awful. It doesnt even look at all like an Italian restaurant. They really need to update the decor. Some tablecloths on the table with maybe a candle or some flowers. Some nice artwork on the walls. It needs to be brightened up its very dark and gloomy in there. When you go out to eat you want to be in a happy place. And they definitely, most definitely need to have some Italian music playing in there
Excellent food. Will wait as long as it takes for fresh food like this. This is no fast food restaurant, home made and quality stuff worth waiting for. Staff obviously trying their best despite a labor shortage. They did a great job overall. Hand made pizza deal could not be any better, great to feed any size group of people. They have a a variety of creative pasta dishes that are all incredible. I plan on coming back until I try each and every one. So thankful the staff puts everything they have into their product and service each and every time, just for me. Will be a lifelong customer of Luce.
My favorite local place for pizza. Usually has a decent wait for takeout, but well work it.
Weve been trying to find a good Italian place with great pizza. We might have to go back to try the pasta because we didnt try that. But the cheese sticks were great the pizzas were very basic in our opinion nothing special. I ordered a white pizza and my toppings were falling off because there was too much olive oil between the dough and cheese layer. Also a downside to find out an Italian restaurant has no alcohol at all.
I used to frequent this restaurant on a regular basis when I worked in Lexington. I absolutely love it. Now that I dont work in Lexington, every time I pass through during business hours I have to stop and get an order of their garlic cheese knots to go. If you have not tried them, they are to die for.
Its Sunday, 1:28PM (10/31/2021) and their google listing says they are open, their Open sign infront of their establishment is ON yet the doors are locked and no one answers their phone. The owner needs to keep their listing up to date so potential customers do not come here for nothing! Waste of time! Not even a sign on the door to say you are closed? No hours of operation anywhere onsite!? Sounds like they dont care about the business, thats the impression I got. Luckily, Travinias Kitchen was open and everyone told me they are 1000x better! Was not Dissapointed!
Emily our waitress was good. She could be great and even excellent if she had better training from management. She and all staff should be trained to serve from the left side of the diner and remove used dishes from the right side. This is basic restaurant etiquette that most restaurants dont get right. If you dont believe me, do online research that will prove me right. Also, at the end of the meal, ALL use dishes should be removed from the table so that theres room for the patron to sign his credit card receipt! This is another common problem with restaurants. Who can sign with a dish fork and knife in front of his chest? The food, music, and most other aspects were otherwise great.
I hate leaving bad reviews for damn near any reason, but this place genuinely served me what might have been the worst food Ive ever had. Poor service, soggy brown lettuce, chicken deep fried to the point it was hard to even cut, and one bite of the spaghetti still has me wanting to throw up an hour later. Others actually have. But beside not eating the actual food served, the tea tasting like dirt, an absent waitress that excitedly ignored the table for the high schoolers in the corner, and watching the manager be rude to another table as well as us, the spinach and cheese dip wasnt bad! I feel bad for the owner having that kind of representation for his restaurant.
Food is not authentic and service is not good. Last person in my family received their food 20 minutes after everyone else. I had to personally go and get the plate myself. When I walked up front it was just sitting there unattended getting cold. They brought the unflavored garlic bread after everyone was nearly done with their meals. Cheap processed products on pizza. I asked for small plates for appetizers and they brought them after the appetizers were gone. Waitress was not with it. I ordered the shrimp tortellini and it was very salty. Definitely will not be going back. Very surprised on all the good reviews. Many people must not have had real Italian. This absolutely was not authentic.
Food was great as usual I just feel like the atmosphere needs an update. Also noticed the quantity of food given has went down a little. Im assuming an adjustment of rising food prices
Pizza is acceptable, but not a great value. Very little cheese, tomato sauce and toppings. Crust is soggy unless ordered well done. Spaghetti is tasty. So are their salads with great homemade dressing. Service is good. Atmosphere is inviting and parking is easy.
The food was awful and bland, no taste. Hated it. Will never go back . The water, tea and bread was the best thing
Have you ever left a restaurant with your taste buds yelling and screaming shouting alert alert. Not even in a good way.The salad that was given was old the leaves were wilted and discolored. The alfredo sauce and chicken tasted like sausageIt all tasted like SAUSAGEI highly recommend going here if you want your taste buds to be filled with regret and your stomach to be twisted and turning. Now if youre a young high schooler looking for a wonderful waitress, they got you but if you happen to be in your mid twenties and up you will have a wall placed up and get ignored, your cup will be empty without getting a refill even before those high schoolers walk on in.
When we walked in we were the only ones in the restaurant. After being seated we waited forever to get waited on. Other people walked in and got waited on before us. While eating, a fly joined us. After getting tired of fighting him away I let him have it. Food was good and plentiful but not big on having to fight for it or the the attention for service.
Service was excellent and both pizzas my GF and I got were good. Hand tossed pepperoni while she got the white pizza. Only thing is this place doesnt sell beer which was a bit of a bummer!
Waited over an hour and 20 mins for 2 dishes. Then they proceeded to tell me they had someone call out, thats not my issue, if you cant have reliable staff or at least enough staff to run your business, then dont open the doors. An hour and 20 mins is ridiculous for 2 dishes.Reply to owners comment.Yes, and while that is understandable, your staff needs to let the customer know about the wait before placing an order and being given a 30 min wait time. For it to only be followed by excuses and more wait times once the customer is already in the parking lot. Also, the food I got was cold, I appreciate the owner being polite, but not only was the service horrible by the actual staff, the food was cold when I did get it, and my husbands food had little to no sauce in the pasta. We will not be going back.
Excellent pizza and garlic knots. Emily, our server was very attentive and friendly. It’s a small, family run place that makes a lot of the food onsite. The menu is pretty big with lots of choices. It’d be a good spot for families with children. Watch the enormous pothole at the entrance!
Food tastes really good .. they were really busy and service was fast.. the owner is friendly and helpful.. it was my first visit and it will not be the last..
No complaints here. Good food, friendly service.
Great food and service as always. The food was even better tonight that in the past. Best Alfred Ive ever had. We had a larger group with lots of questions and specific requests, Aubrey was amazing. One of the most attentive servers Ive had. As you can tell, cant say enough great things about our experience tonight. Good job!
Great authentic Italian dishes!! If you havent tried this place yet, I encourage you to go! Support Local!!
Have eaten there several times and everything was great. On 4/16/21, we had a group of 8. Waitress took our drink order. Took over 20 minutes to get drinks and 3 of the 8 were water. The glasses used to serve drinks were apparently just washed and made the drink taste like soap. Food orders - no mushrooms and no calamari 10 minutes after order. One order placed with fries. Waitress forgot to put in order of fries so other food eaten before fries came. Due to service and food/drink issues, did not tip 18%. Just found out they just debited the difference today from my acct. 4/22/21. Last time eating there. Like to support local but Luce’s needs a few changes.
My wife and I ate dinner at Luces on February 29th,2021. The hostess seated us very quickly and gave us a pleasant welcome. The restaurant was very clean and neat. When our waiter came over he introduced himself as Aubrey and. I said to him that was an unusual name and he said he was named after his grandmother. He was very helpful when we ordering and made sure we had everything we needed. We both ordered the baked spaghetti and salad. The salad was delicious, everything was fresh tasting. We our baked spaghetti arrived it was very delicious. We could not eat all of it because it was so huge. You want be disappointed. Ask for Aubrey when you go there. I would rate Lucis an A++++
The food portion was not much for the money expected for Italian. I had the fettuccine Alfredo with shrips and that was pretty tasty.
They dont give you enough food and the prices are going up and it dont taste as good
HORRIBLE!Takeout. Got wrong pizza, garlic bread knots were raw, pizza was raw & downright gross.Arriving at home, called them immediately after opening box.I was told I could go back & get another pizza, but would have to pay again.Asked to speak with a manager, was told they were not available & I would get a call back. Order was placed at approximately 5-5:30 Saturday pm & it is now 11:00 am Sunday.Got a survey in my email to fill out, which I did. Then I got another email saying they would give me a $10.00 coupon to use on our next order. Wow! My original order cost me $27.00!!!My advice: DO NOT EAT HERE! I can only imagine what the kitchen is like after getting the food we got! Gross perhaps.I am 66yo & have never, ever experienced a place like this. I am from Northern Michigan & have been in SC for 6 1/2 months for the Winter. I always buy local & don’t do “chains “ keeping money in the local area. The hospitality at this place was ridiculously horrendous!
Salad did not have tomatoes in it, nor greenery. Couldnt order what wanted from menu, they were out of it. Garlic bread was hogie roll in half w/ garlic sprinkled on it. Not a very good 1st experience. Slight disappointmenting.
First time going here because of good reviews from friends. Honestly would not go back. A little dumb but my wife found the stickers still attached to the cucumber slices, my chicken parm came out mildly warm while the cheese was cold. The only good part of this experience was the garlic knots. 2 out of 10 would not recommend
Very nice. Small lil place, great food...Started w calamari, then there 2as chicken parm, shrimp n mussels pasta, and shrimp scampi....only sad note, ribeye was wanted, but unavailable. Nice starter, good salads, entrees were hot n fresh.
Love this place! Good food and the people are always super nice! Great family eats and I like to take home a Stromboli whenever I can 😉
The best calzone I have ever had
Food looks so yummy and taste good as well .. people there are so nice
The food and service was amazing. I honestly have not had a better experience anywhere. I highly recommend it. We had the lasagna and the spinach and mushroom bow tie pasta for the entrée and mozzarella sticks for the appetizer.
Fabulous churasco steak with diablo shrimp. Great mohitos. Definitely go back again. 😃
Wonderful little place, food and service were amazing. This is probably my new favorite Italian food in the area.
This place is great for a good cheap lunch. I get it to go, but you can dine in. I love the pizza. It is delicious and big enough for two adults for lunch. It is a 10 inch small pizza with one topping for 6.99. 2 drinks from gas station at 79 cents a piece and you got lunch for two less than 9 dollars. Check out their lunch specials. All are delicious and all are under 8 dollars.
The lasagna was SO DELICIOUS!!! Our waitress was new to the job and a little nervous, good service though! I went in my pajama pants after a long 6 day work week...other customers were a little perturbed but I didnt mind. My Honey and I really enjoyed it!!! Definitely made our Will visit again list.
Been to this restaurant several times and love their food. Service is okay depending on the waitress.
The food was luke warm and not that good. If you are expecting to have a glass of wine, beer, etc., with dinner dont go to here. Its an alcohol free zone. Plus they charge a fee for using your credit card. Will not be going back.
The best breadsticks, pizza, and lasagna!Service is great too!
No words to explain our experience. Seriously, my first time eating at a restaurant that did not have a manager on duty. We were the only ones there and it took 30 minutes to get our food. The staff blamed it on the to- go orders. The cheese slid off of the pizza so we were left with slimy crust and a pile of cheese. The kids meals did not include bread. They had to call the owners because they were clueless on how to discount our bill. Regardless, they did nothing to the bill and had the nerve to charge a fee to pay with a debit card. Keep away, far away. I could put together a much better pizza on my own. If things keep going like this instead of a help wanted sign there will be a for sale sign on the door.
Good food, very good service, as we were a large group, and clean
When you walk in you feel like youre actually in Italy. The atmosphere is so quaint and relaxing! Youre immediately greeted by very friendly staff who you can tell are genuinely happy youre there. You actually feel like youre in your own families dining room! The menu is extensive with a huge variety from which to choose and the prices are more than reasonable. The food is spectacular! I cannot stress enough how delicious the food is. The way it is prepared there is no denying it is authentic and made from scratch and with care. This place is a hidden gem in Lexington and its no wonder they just celebrated 11 years of business. I definitely believe this will be one of Lexingtons best restaurants for many years to come!
Food was absolutely delicious !!!! The service was even better. Will definitely be a regular
I went to pick up mine and my wifes order of A large pizza and the garlic cheese knots. The online system (slice) messed up and I had to wait about 25 minutes to receive my order, even though it was placed almost 2 hours in advance. While that was/is inconvenient I understand that was not the restaurants fault. The food was...amazing. This is hands down one of the best pizzas Ive personally had in a long long time. We will no longer be ordering from the common pizza chains. Luce gets my pizza business from here on out.
I really like this place! We have been getting take out here for years and only dined in maybe twice but the food is always good! Pizza, calzones, pasta it is all outstanding and the staff has always been super friendly!
Absolutely amazing and fresh food.
Still sitting here after 2 hours of waiting. Half our party got their food, my wife and I still havent gotten our food. Do not recommend this restuarant as a dine -in. Call for take out, that is their priority. Our server was really sweet tho
They were a little short staffed and so my order took longer than I originally expected, but staff was really nice and food was delicious. I did ask to leave out the crushed red peppers on my dish and this didnt happen, but as I mentioned they were short staffed so I totally understand. Definitely will eat from here again.
Disappointed that I could not get a glass of wine with my dinner. Waitress was very attentive and pleasant.
My husband, son and I came in for the first time tonight. Everything was great! Our server seemed new but she was very sweet and stayed on top of filling drinks and bringing out our food. The food was fantastic and you get a lot of it. All three of us brought home leftovers. I was impressed with the kids menu it wasn’t typical kids food my sons pizza looked great and he seemed to like it. I would highly recommend this place. Also saw the owner talking with his staff and he was treating them well.
I have never eaten anything from their menu that wasnt the best Italian food around. Everything on the menu is amazing - and the tiramisu is by far the best I have ever had. Only drawback is that I like wine with my Italian food, so I often get the food to go and drink wine at home. Other issue is the service is usually very slow - so if you are in a hurry, you better choose somewhere else.
No special occasion, just wanted to try something new… Excellent service, great pizza value… our waitress was very attentive and checked on us often. Not at all disappointed. Id say, if anything, I would have to ask next time if it was possible to overcook the crust. The chicken strips were tender and juicy. Definitely worth trying out, and come back to.
OK food, but really under staffed. Always takes longer than expected. Really wish they’d hire some more people. Could be a good place.
Mix was a great server! Pizza was the best we have ever had!
Excellent food and service, reasonably priced
Sunday 10/18 - Food was good 4 stars...Service had a smile but knowledge of menu not good and not enough help to serve customers and meal took over an hour to get to us(would have given this a 4) had to give this a 1 - watched people get up and leave b/c of NO service.... IF and this is a BIG IF... the OWNER(s) will get current staff extra support they will be VERY successful at serving more that small numbers of patrons.
Everything went well. Only problem was it was dark and I had to use the light on my cell to read the menu.
Great pizza and a deal at 6.99 each for 2 with one topping
Great food at reasonable prices! Love this gem of a place. The service is so good and the staff is lovely and very friendly. I dont know how we missed trying this place living in Lexington for almost 3 years. Definitely will be visiting again and soon, especially since they have such a spread!
Amazing all the way.
Very nice people.
Ordered our normal crispy chicken Alfredo and steak and cheese hoagie.. the Alfredo was awful. Chicken was so tough it was like eating grissel...I think the chicken was cooked frozen. Sauce had no taste at all. Sandwich was ok but not anything like it use to be...not alot of flavor and very salty. So disappointed. Not worth the $30 it cost!!!!
I love Luce! My boyfriend took me here for an anniversary and they made it very special for us. The device was amazing!! Best chicken parm I’ve had. It’s a bit pricey but totally worth it. One of my favorite higher end restaurants in Charlotte. Would recommend if you’re in the mood to try Italian or for a special occasion
Restaurant is very poorly lighted. Not sure if on purpose or not as ceiling has lots of lights that dont work. Ordered 3-year-old son french fry appetizer son then wanted kids tender meal with fries. Asked if we could convert to kids meal was told consultation with manager that that wasnt possible because the appetizer fries were already prepared. We stated that was fine because things happen. Then we ordered the adult entree. Proceed to wait almost 45 minutes to then be told by the very nice waitress that the order was lost by the kitchen. she then placed the order and we told her that we would like them placed in to go boxes. Realized once we got home that one of the orders was entirely wrong. In addition to these inconveniences we were charged a 3% non-cash fee to pay with a debit card. The least they could have done was waive the 3% non-cash fee due to all of our inconveniences and waiting for food that was forgotten or lost by the kitchen. Cant say after this experience that Ill be back there as the food was not that great to begin with.
Great food, staff friendly and punctual. One of our favorite restaurants!
I used to love this place, great food. Then the past month it has become horrible. They ran out of sweet tea, they forgot our order. We had to ask for things multiple times and the quality and quantity of food went down. Im not sure how they are staying in business. Go elsewhere.
A community favorite in Lexington that is worth it if your willing to wait for a table. My advice call ahead and order for pick up.
I LOVE pizza and since I am newer to the area I decided to try a local pizza place. I wish I hadnt. This had to be one of the worst pizzas I have ever had. They have several good reviews so i dont know if I caught them on a bad day but I dont plan on going back to find out. I ordered hand tossed and got a thin crust instead. Ordered ranch dressing and ended up with blue cheese. I got a ham calzone that was all cheeses and maybe 5-6 small bites of ham. My pizza barely had any meat on it. Needless to say grease wast the most dominant item in my order. Too bad too. They are less than 1 mile from my house and would have been a good go to.
Best Calzone in Lexington, not too doughy, and cooked to perfection. Took my family here for the first time today and everyone ordered something different and we all extremely satisfied. Will definitely be going back. Highly recommend.
I went her with my crippled daughter. She has been going through the most hardest time ever. When we got there we were greeted with the most down to earth and handsome waitor. Myx. He made sure my daughter was happy with her experience and he made her whole day. I can not thank you enough for your kindness. This man seriously deserves a raise. By far the best customer service I have ever had. Thank you Myx.
Food is ok for Lexington SC Italian. More concerning is the wait times and the unenthusiastic nature of the staff working. Called in an order, told 20 mins. Ended up being over an hour and 15 mins. Requested just a refund so I could leave and go somewhere else. Wouldn’t happen. Won’t be back. I’ll cook or hit up Alodias.
I hate leaving bad reviews 🥺 That being said I cant recommend this place .... Every time we have gone its been disappointing. We have called ahead several times to make sure they had the Ribeyes in house that they advertise in the menu only to be told Yes we have several .... We arrive 30 minutes later and order the Ribeye for dinner with a salad and a side of Pasta .... 25 minutes later the waitress comes back to say sorry we dont have any Ribeyes and you will need to order something else (Mind you we have our 2 year old Granddaughter with us so its not like we can wait an hour for our meal) Hate to say it but I dont know how they stay in business.... 2 other tables sent back meals with complaints. I will say they have outstanding garlic knots .... We really did give it several chances but we wont be back. Also our waitress was Izzy and she was very nice and a hard worker ..... Unfortunately I just dont think the place is managed well.
Very good food, currently short staffed. even short handed service was still prompt and friendly.
Are sever was great his name myx had a great attitude and was very nice but he was black
Food was pretty bad; like one step above a frozen dinner. Could tell the veggies and chicken were cooked frozen, chicken even had fake grill lines! Not sure if they were cutting corners because they are so understaffed, but if that’s the case they seriously need to adjust their prices. Expensive dinner and it wasn’t even as good as an Olive Garden. Will not be back.
Tried this place for the first time......was not impressed. Waited an hour for an appetizer of breadsticks and they were pretty good. When our entrees came out our Noodles were cold, the crispy chicken Alfredo batter wasnt good and was falling off the chicken. Small pizza was ok. Kids spaghetti had a piece of hair in it. The chicken parm wasn’t the sauce that was ordered. Waitress was nice and apologetic about wait time, but was obviously being pulled between waiting tables and helping in the kitchen.
I love this place! The Baked Ziti is our favorite dish. The staff is excellent and the place is always clean. It is a bit out of our way, but always worth the drive. UPDATE the last time we went, 06/11/2020, we called in our order, and they never took it down. We left without our order and very disappointed. They were very busy that day but I cant see why they never took down our order.
Love to eat there food is good prices just right
This is my wife’s favorite restaurant, but I’m not sure why. Every time we go the service seems to get a little worse. Tonight we tried to order delivery thru an online vendor and our order was never confirmed by the restaurant. They stated they called several times for confirmation and no one answered. I then called myself and again no one answered. We will not be dining in or ordering from this restaurant again. Thanks for all the lackluster service.
Hands 👋🏼Down the Best Italian Restaurant Ive been too. Love Luce!!!!!!!
Lunchtime very peaceful, laid back.Food great! We have found an upgrade to Olive Garden that is now our favorite.
Luce has a friendly, warm vibe, priced well and the taste makes it always worth the visit. Fresh and tasty, love the lobster ravioli.
The food is fantastic, the prices are very reasonable and the people are wonderful. If there was a 10 star they would get it. Well deserved. My new favorite place to eat.
Best pizza for the money!
Their food portions were so much! I had the lasagna and had leftovers. Made 2 more meals out of it. The spinach dip was delicious too. Will definitely be back.
Food is great! So Happy Going There !
We really enjoyed this hidden gem. The fried Spicy Cauliflower appetizer was a great idea. A small supreme pizza was packed with great toppings... I had the grilled chicken skewers with fettuccine Alfredo!
Was very enjoyable and nice atmosphere
This place has the best crispy chicken Alfredo.
This was our second trip to Luces, and was not the same experience as the first time. Service was painfully slow. Put in two garlic knot appetizers which took almost 30 minutes to come out. Ordered dinner, the salads came out before the garlic knots. About 40 minutes after ordering dinner, the waitress informed us they did not have steak that night - the dinner my wife and I ordered. Picked a simple pasta dish, and still took another 20 minutes to come out. The whole experience was not pleasant. It is a decent little place for dinner, but is very disorganized.
