They provide insight into the complex process of making and tuning a very specialized instrument. Their staff are friendly and knowledgeable, any the guided tours are a must.
I HIGHLY recommend visiting the Reuter Organ Company. The tour was fun & informative. We had such a great time. You should go for a visit if you are looking for something fun & free to do.
On Friday, October 5, 2018 the Douglas County Extension sponsored an educational tour of the the Reuter Organ Factory. There were 17 men and women on the tour. Our guide was Tom Watkin. Tom was an excellent guide! He has worked at Reuter Organ Factory for over 30 years. He has a degree in organ therefore was very knowledgeable about the inner and outer workings of the organ. His enthusiasm about his work was evident. Not once did anyone feel bored.Little did we know that Friday was a great day to visit the factory, because most of the craftsmen like to take a long weekend. That meant we were able to move though the factory and hear our guide without he sound of noisy machinery. We saw a few craftsmen working during our tour, but we did not interrupt them as they were working.Tom ended our tour by playing an old theatre/movie organ that had been restored by the crew during their sparetime. What a treat is was to hear that old organ come to life again! The Reuter Organ Factory Tour is definitely a must see experience. It is truly a unique attraction, one that everyone will find educational and fun!
One of the most famous American musical instrument makers.
What an interesting business; pipe organs the start from scratch making the pipes form liquid metal and the wood work is beautiful. True craftsmen.

Come to St. Louis and visit our 4,900 pipe Reuter architecture and voices at Third Baptist Church across from the Fox at Grand Center.
I love to support local business and am sad to say that Reuter treats their employees terribly and scams their customers.
Good
