I scheduled an installation of a hitch and this was the closest location that had what I needed. I arrived only to find out that not only was my installation date changed, but that they did not in fact have my hitch on hand. So why the 5-star review, well this is due to the customer service provided after the fact. This location has some work to do surely, but the impeccable attention to detail in making something right was on point. I worked with Jessica and her team to find the class III hitch that I needed for my VW Atlas and after many emails was able to get it installed just prior to hen I needed it. Jessica made it a point to reduce the cost that I had to pay due to the unforeseen circumstances that I had to face. She also personally apologized to me when I received the hitch installation, and made sure that the install was completed, with herself completing the work. I appreciated the honesty on the employees and there willingness to go over the top to satisfy a customer. Thanks so much!

If we could give 0 stars we would. Went for a hitch install and the reschedule with us bc the employee didn’t show for his shift? Then Paid for a hitch only for them to not install the wiring correctly. The the GM Jessica says she will refund us half for the issues and then we only get 50$ back. Absolutely laughable

These people are completely incompetent. They dont know how to check-in equipment or do basic inventory management.Manager called me after 5 days asking if I still had the truck that was only rented for a few hours. And I was charged for trailer in a completely different state because they rented it to someone before closing my contract.Calling the Service Line is also a nightmare. Hope that you never have to go through that.

I returned a truck here after moving across the state. They were very easy to deal with; checked me in in a matter of minutes and I got everything back that was due to me. I sold them some unused boxes which was also quick and painless.

There were 5 people in line when I arrived and an upset customer on the phone. The first customer up had, unbeknownst to them, changed their rental online to a vehicle that was unavailable. They were also less than thrilled.. Then there was Brittany working the counter. Only Brittany. She was the only employee in the store! So she was helping people with pick ups at the counter, new reservations at the counter, answering phones, reviewing equipment with customers in the lot, handling equilment returns AND providing customer support for upset customers in person and on the phone. I was so impressed with how professional she was. She managed to keep her cool and treat each customer with patience and kindness, even when they didnt give her the same courtesy. It took about an hour before we hit the road, partly because she spotted a link in the safety chain on the trailer we rented that looked like it was one drag from snapping apart. She deserves MAJOR props for making it through what I saw this morning. UHAUL, give this woman a raise already!!!

Stopped today to get my propane tank, and before I could get out of my truck, I was met by a super kind brother named Armani. He had me filled and paid in less than five minutes. If Armani is a representation of the employees of this U-haul, I highly recommend this location. I will let my friends and neighbours know this is the spot for our summer propane needs!Thanks Armani!

Booked a 26’ truck a month in advance with a guaranteed reservation. Show up 7am on moving day and they fumble around for an hour just to tell me they don’t have a truck for me. Had to call around town and ended up spending much more on a same day rental and all they did was offer $50. If you want a reliable rental I would NOT book with uhaul. This location is a disaster and no one was helpful. They claimed the manager was on her way but over an hour later never showed up. Very disappointed

I cannot speak highly enough of Brittany, who works at this Uhaul location. She is friendly, cheerful, thorough, caring, honest, and kind. She not only make the moving van check-out process so fast and streamlined, despite being swamped with customers and working solo, but when I dropped my van back off after my move, and needed a mask for my Lyft ride, she gave me one of her own. The store can get crowded, but my van was clean, and I had zero problems with the rental experience. Having a smiling, kind face behind the customer service desk can turn around what would otherwise be a really stressful move. Thank you Brittany, what a gem!

This was a horrible experience. It is impossible to get a hold of anybody at Uhaul. I ordered a bike rack and hitch installation. The bike rack was back ordered so I attempted to cancel my order as I needed it sooner. First, you cant contact a live person everything is done online. They charged me even though I canceled the order and since nobody answered the phone I had to go in to try and resolve it and then couldnt find my order despite me having all the confirmation numbers. Then, the day comes to install my hitch, which I scheduled weeks in advance and I get there for my scheduled time at 7am and the store wasnt even open. After waiting 15 minutes someone opens the store and tells me theres nobody there to install my hitch that day!! Absolutely awful costumer service.

Trucks mirror fell off less than 3 miles away from pick up, been waiting over 2 hours and now we need to unload the truck and load into a different truck making us miss out move out deadline. Thanks for the great piece of equipment, drivers door hardly closed driver mirror hanging by a thread, passenger just fell off while driving, and now it’s “not safe to drive”

Im updating my review based on the overall service I received from this location.I initially visited to have a hitch installed, but the model I needed was not in stock. While I would have appreciated being able to take care of this in 1 trip (it took 3) the location (especially Jessica) and U-Haul management worked to make things right. While the hitch I needed was not easy for them to have shipped, they found a location that had it and expedited its delivery so I could have my hitch installed ASAP.Initially, I was very irritated and frustrated since it took multiple visits, emails, and phone calls to sort this out, but I appreciate how willing they were to work with me.

The guy working was literally sleeping in the office.. I waited for 15 min then the tech guy who works in the back came back from test driving a van and I asked if he could help me then he goes in the office and I see him come out with someone and he says that he was a sleep in this office this whole time.. If this is who they have working here I would go somewhere else.. everyone but the dude in the back he was also fed up with the sleeping guy.

Unprofessional. The clerk was an anti masker. Couldnt pay in cash because they couldnt give us change. Prices arent that better than Home Depot.

I was hesitant to rent from this location due to the reviews but we had a great experience. The customer service / check in process was easy. I ended up running a little behind with my move and needed a few extra hours past my initial reservation and they accomadated me with no issue. They also clean the truck out when done versus other places that require you to do it yourself before returning.

I needed a hitch for my road trip and they last minute after I paid told me they didnt have one available. Waiting on a refund.Edit: I have received a refund. I think that this was uhaul corporates issue not this store.

The staff and service at this location is great. I had an issue with a hitch install performed at a different location. The staff here (Jessica specifically) took care of my issue without hesitation and were very friendly while doing so.

On October 10, 2020, I went to purchase a bike hitch at 9am at 8th and Wadsworth Uhaul location. Female GM was courteous and kind. Honda hitch was not available. GM found one at Arvada location and reserved it for me. She offered to have hitch delivered but I needed hitch same day. I wanted pick up hitch due to limited supply issues because of Covid. So, I drove 20 minutes and picked up hitch at 64th and Wadsworth Arvada Uhaul. Casey seated at his comfy desk chair- would not place hitch on my car despite having no customers in Arvada store and an additional male employee on phone. I was the only customer at Arvada location. Futhermore, Casey said he only does hitch work during the week on appointment only in advance. Casey said hitch takes 90 minutes to install.So I paid for hitch and drove back to 8th and Wadsworth Uhaul location. Female GM was busy processing many trucks. I saw her constantly moving in and out door/garage moving trucks for customers.I asked if she could attach my bike hitch and she said, Of course, I can put it on right now in a few minutes. I waited patiently as GM moved trucks blocking garage and drove my car onto ramp for me. I was aftaid of not backing car up correctly onto ramp. GM offered me a chair so I could watch my 4-year-old. Hitch was assembled efficiently and safely in 30-40 minutes.LESSON: Jessica GM at 8th and Wadsworth location works extremely hard, gets her hands dirty, hustles, and provides excellent service. GM at 8th and Wadsworth location clearly understands the importance quality customer service and hard work. She not sitting at a chair making excuses She is standing and constantly moving to ensure customers get their trucks and hitches on time. I will always recommend this UHAUL location. 🤗❤

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. This place does not deserve even 1 star. After they strewed up my appointment, instead of saying a sincere apology they kept coming up with ridiculous excuses. They are super unprofessional and they dont take your issue seriously at all. Obviously, they cannot handle their job. So, future customers, for you and your familys sake, dont go there.

I will never use uhaul after this experience. Reserve truck and trailer almost 3 weeks in advance, confirmed reservation and everything. Show up to pick up truck and they don’t have the size I needed so had to downsize, then they go on to tell me that they don’t have a car transport and don’t know when they will get one back. So I have a truck that’s too small and no way to transport my car. Thanks for not telling me until day of pick up and screwing me out of a move! I will never be back.

Charles is awesome. After three visits to the Uhaul on Alameda resulting in issue after issue with a hitch, I finally just took the new wiring harness (since the one installed was faulty) and set up an appointment at this location. Charles had me in and out in less than two hours, and took the time to show me all the lights were operational. Great customer service... Night and day from my experience at Alameda! Thank you Charles for making me feel like a priority!

I had a resevation for a trailer when I called the lady hung up on me when I arrived at the facility I was told they were really busy so I never was helped and never got the trailer I dont ever reccomend this place I will use home depot or fluid moving forward customer service is everything and this place has no type of courtesy

I remember when the price advertised was the price you paid. I rented a van today that was advertised for $19.95. Rented it for 6 hours. Drove 16 total miles on it. After all the fees I ended up paying $46. I also had to put $10 in fuel in the van. Apparently U-Haul charges .59 per mile for whatever reason on top of the regular fees. Will not be using U-Haul again.

My boyfriend and I were moving into our first home this past Saturday, on 10/26/19. We excessively prepared and in doing so decided to rent a uHaul, because he prefers your service and has rented with uHaul at least 10 times. Knowing that it was going to snow the next day, and the next 3 days after that, we were excited to have a sunny, 70 degree day to move. We had friends coming over to help at a specific time so we showed up first thing at 7 am (as I specified in my online reservation, made on 10/15/19). When we showed up there were two individuals helping us, but not directly as they were discussing an unknown issue amongst themselves. They casually informed us that our reserved truck had not shown up and that they were trying to find us another truck. As we waited longer and longer, we began to realize this was an actual problem. We needed at least a 17’ truck to move our things and what they then were offering was a 10’ truck. They explained that there was nothing they could do about it and no trucks were available anywhere near us, even though there were 20’ trucks reserved at that location for later that day. We understand that things happen in life but! The lack of consideration that the young man and his coworker displayed was enough to lose our business forever. Not only did they not care, they provided NO help in resolving this very unfortunate problem on our big day (and only day off from work to move). My boyfriend asked to speak to the manager and the young man wrote down her name - Jeneffa Butterfield - and her number and made sure to tell us, “She cannot help you, there’s nothing that we can do.” And then we were sent off, stranded. It goes without being said that our business is lost, as well as business from our friends, family and anyone we can tell about this awful experience. There were so many things that could have been handled differently. We have since learned that two different friends have each experienced a similar issue. This will not be the last review that we write. This was completely unacceptable and literally ruined our moving day and left us stranded.

They lost my reservation

I came in at 10 minutes before closing and was really tired. I had ran out of boxes and as I purchased them I asked if they could help me carry out the boxes and could I have a receipt. They gave me a fake receipt and acted like they were put out to help me. When I realized the receipt was wrong I went back and they had closed 4 minutes early. Is this really how you treat a customer???? Wont ever go back!!!

Ok so I rented a bike trailer for a couple of days. When I went to return it I had to unhook the trailer by myself. The lady had no since of urgency to help. She caught me when I was leaving and said we will email you a copy of the receipt. They didn’t take my email. So I call today and try and talk with someone to get a receipt and Victoria answered after ten min and said let me get you with someone. I waited an additional 15 min on the phone. I had to hang up because I don’t have all day to wait on the phone. I have a life. I called back and spoke to another guy and told him that I have been waiting for someone to talk to about a receipt and he put me back on hold for another 20 min. Seems like the staff is on dope and doesn’t care for anyone’s needs. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone! It would take more time out of your life to get an answer for something you already rented. After another 20 min I finally had someone pick up the phone. Asked what the reason of my phone was. What a joke!!!!!!! Thank you Luis for having some type of customer service.

Been renting trailers from U-Haul for a while but she refused to rent to me with no real reason other than personal preference because I have an interlock device in my truck from a DUI, and I was only trying to rent a trailer. She told me she wasnt comfortable renting to me, as if I was going to drive drunk (the interlock is a breathalyzer) and then told me in a very rude, snarky tone Good luck renting a trailer! which is completely unprofessional.

This place & all uhaul stores are a bunch of scam artist. Hidden fees left & right. Too many policys to cover too many petty charges. 2 hr rental was supposed to be $30 turned to $60 once returned.

The lady there that closed tonight had the worst customer service. My boyfriend and I got there at 6:30 (we went earlier but no one acknowledged us, we couldnt even get a question in) anyway we went back trying to return the Uhaul truck we rented and she tells us You can do a self-return since its after 6:30 and I have to close. My boyfriend said that earlier we were told we had UNTIL 7 PM and she said well its easier for me if you do a self return. Like really? Isnt Uhaul promoting that everything is easier with them? APPARENTLY NOT! It wouldnt have even been that bad if she didnt say everything with an attitude like if we were bothering her. Would definitely give 0 stars if I could .

The store manager was very knowledgeable and helpful. They only had 1 person staffed though so it was disappointing to be the 3rd person in line and have to wait 20 minutes.

I reserved a truck at this Lakewood location several weeks in advance and then received a call 3 days before my confirmed date stating that the agreed-upon truck is not available anymore. UHaul wanted me to drive almost 30 miles away to pick up another truck. This is unacceptable since everything about a move revolves around having a TRUCK. I ended up renting from Penske instead, who said they will have a truck available in less than 3 days. Dont use U Haul unless you want to play Russian roulette with your move date, your movers, your cleaning crew, and your rent. Leading up to your big day, all can go well for you until the last component of your move - the U Haul rental - falls apart and youre stuck outside your old home with all your nice furniture and belongings in the pouring rain.

Charged us an extra day even though we returned the vehicle hours before it was rented just because they were closing 30 minutes after we arrived to return! The girl wouldnt get off her seat to come out & check in the vehicle & then they claimed damage after we left! We had coverage but they said the coverage doesnt cover the damage!This place is a fraud & do not use them!

If I can rate this a zero I would, no one in the store. Girls that were working there were goofing off and not caring about their job. Had me and a few customers waiting for nearly an hour. Seriously understaffed and terrible staff, too busy chatting away instead of helping out. Contract and receipt full of hot Cheetos stains due to staff having dirty hands.

The owner of this location will not fill recertifed propane tanks unless the recertification was done after January of 2019 with their special approval stamp (No, he did not specify what magic stop he was talking about). Save yourself some time and go to a different location!

I have rented the pickup truck here on two separate occasions previous to this experience. On the first occasion, I was told I would need either my own insurance card or to buy their insurance for the pickup. On the second time I was told I did NOT need my own insurance (I never buy theirs). I EXPLICITLY ASKED and mentioned that last time I had been told otherwise. I was ASSURED that I did not need to show my insurance. So, on this occasion, I did not bring it with me (I rode my bike) and of course I was asked for my insurance card.When I called to inquire about the fact that different employees gave opposite answers to the same question I received the worst customer service experience of my entire life. When you call the national number they tell you that the insurance is optional, and they have no idea why that location would do that. They offered to transfer me to the regional office that oversees that location and after I agreed, they promptly disconnected me. I called back and after going through everything again, I was transferred successfully.The person I spoke to next is responsible for this review. In no way did she seem to understand what I was even asking. She did keep repeating the same script over and over again about how managers have the discretion to ask for what ever they want for what ever reason. I asked why the previous employee had told me something different and she replied that that could not have happened and that she was going to disconnect the call (she was threatening this throughout the entire call). While you are on hold a voice informs you that the call will be recorded and to ask your agent if you would like a copy. At several points during the conversation she contradicted herself, so I asked her for the recording. She replied that the calls are only recorded at THEIR discretion and that this one was not (OF COURSE). Funny, the recording said it was so that they can Keep their promises, so I dont see how that makes sense. Finally, before hanging up on me, she informed me that there was no way that herself or any other local Uhaul employees will experience any adverse effects due to my complaints. This is completely consistent with the negative customer service reviews posted here and on other site about the Denver Uhaul locations. And they do not care and will BRAG about how they do not care!Again, all I wanted to know was what I should bring with me to the rental location. From my call, it is still unclear.

Quick and easy rentals at a good price. Winter of 2016 has construction on Wadsworth, so you will want to hit it going north to avoid a long wait to turn in.

A large facility with a pretty good inventory, but grossly understaffed. Staff that was there was rude and slow. U-Haul re-booked my reservation to this location without explanation. A mistake.

I called the number that Google had down to make reservations for vehicle Storage at U-Haul. I asked for the local phone number to make sure they had what I would need, but corporate said that everything would be taken care of and that I would not need to do that. So I went down personally to the office says there to give my ID and the girls had absolutely no information on the reservation and said they dont even offer that service anymore it was a complete waste of time

Went to this location to get a hitch installed. The installer for some reason decided to tape the wiring to the brakeline wire which shorted the entire switch and essentially blew out the wiring on the left hand side of the vehicle. $700 to repair. Called to bring this to their attention- unhelpful and referred me to their insurance to go through a drawn out claims policy. Be careful bringing your vehicle here.

I lock the keys inside the u-Haul truck and I was like seven miles away from the store they dont have away to open them I ended up paying loock Smit 140 dollars to open the door for me

Just dropped off my truck and was so tried from moving I slept in an extra two hours and got the truck back two hours late. They charged me an extra $62 because of it. I use uhaul all the time. I have moved 4 times in three years. I will not ever use them again.

If you have a new propane tank that needs to be purged- dont visit this place. They didnt even know what I meant by purging a new tank.
