Phone just rings. No one answers. Get left on hold. What a joke.Tried again three weeks later. Same result. Called at 730 am Saturday and just remain on hold. Forever on hold. I just need propane. Last time I drove there they said their RV adapter was broke. Hence why I tried to call first.
I use U-Haul rentals several times throughout any given month for my business. I have always found the staff at this location very friendly and efficient.Thanks guys!
Here in line to pick up my 930. Been in line since 910 still waiting in line its now 10am way under staffed! This is a joke I am still no where near front of line. What a loss of time. Bummed!
Thank you to Kyle Rutherford for handling our hitch wiring! We had to head out of town within a few days, and Kyle went above and beyond to make sure our car was ready to tow what we needed in time.
Dear perspective customer. Head the abundance of 1 star reviews and do NOT do business with this location. If anything at all goes wrong with your rental, they will NOT help you, they will NOT be fair, they will NOT do the right thing. I sincerely hope that this review costs them more money in lost business than the $40 measly dollars they gained by charging me for 2 rental vehicles, one of which I drove 7 miles, then returned as soon as possible after discovering a fault with the vehicle and, having to meet a deadline, replaced with a different vehicle, which I ended up paying for in addition to the first. Theyll hide behind the contract, throw up their hands and say they cant help you, and, more to the point, have no interest in doing business fairly or doing the right thing for the customer, even though two of the workers I dealt with ADMITTED that they completely understood my position. Take your money elsewhere!!!
Be aware - this location may still your money: Two days later after drop off the equipment I found two charges of $76.20 and $15.33. They called me several times to make sure that the equipment will be returned on time but didnt tell anything about the charges. You guys are too easy about customers money. It is unacceptable. Those charges are reported as unauthorized.
Kyle Rutherford manager of this Uhaul location is beyond rude. I told him when picking up that if I couldn’t be back before closing it would have to be the next day so I may need the Uhaul for the full day. What Uhaul banks on is the inconsistencies associated with moving and charging additional fees when they can. I was charged 2 days for a 1 day rental. Mind you I had rented two other Uhaul trucks over the past few days. I have a terminal illness and recently donated all my belongings to various people and not only that I paid to deliver it all and did so despite my illness. While we were unloading the last of the items at 9:30am the following morning I received a phone call from Kyle Rutherford who was not just mean he was beyond rude and cruel and yelled at me without even asking if there was any issues. There were but I won’t get into those details here. The maltreatment instantly flared up my illness and may have very well taken time from the remainder of my days. I intend to let every review venue know how he treated me. Also why would Uhaul double book trucks within 24 hour periods? He claimed he had it rented although when I arrived back he had nobody waiting for the truck. I told Kyle I would be reporting his behavior to his management and letting others know how he was treating a dying man. He hung up the phone on me. I spent the remainder 45 minutes as I proceeded to return the truck trying to call him back. He avoided me and wouldn’t talk to me when I arrived back at the store. You know a dying man has nothing more to lose and treating people so terribly would in most cases result in being fired from their job. I suspect it won’t happen to Kyle because he is a money maker for Uhaul in double booking and charging additional fees. I should also mention prior to renting the truck I was in the store and he refused to help me rent a truck and straight up lied and said none were available and told me to go online and look for one. I did go online and had a difficult time navigating the site and after two hours wasted I managed to rent a truck from his location and schedule to pickup two hours later. So this is the type of person Uhaul hires to manage a store and how he treats his customers. He behaves pretentious and with attitude yet the sorry loser is stuck working a $15/hr job spending his days tormenting his customers for his own self enjoyment. I probably won’t ever rent a Uhaul again for obvious reasons but I hope the rest of you start using Fluid truck rentals. Fluid will rent a 26 foot truck for $110/day and the first 100 miles free. That’s cheaper than the $200 I paid for less than 24hours and for a 15ft truck. Forget Uhaul they’re old news and they deserve to be driven out of business. Fluid Truck, Fluid Truck, Fluid Truck. I called and ordered a new hitch from this location and routinely was told to call back. Multiple calls to the Uhaul location number went unanswered. It then transferred to the main number and those that answered were VERY helpful. Any promises to get replies from the local team went unanswered.Ultimately, I got frustrated enough to cancel my order and move on. Given the current environment with supply and demand, I was more patient than I might have been. But the handling of this was VERY disappointing and I have nothing positive to say about this Uhaul location.
Got there several minutes before they closed and they refused to help me, even though all I needed was propane and could have been done before they closed. Jerks.
Ordered (and paid for) a hitch install like 2 months ago... still not instilled, cant even talk to them because the Phone # goes to a national answering service and no one ever picks up! VERY frustrating
Devon was terrific. We were scheduled to have a hitch installed and while our car has rust damage that made it impossible to install without further work, Devon went above and beyond to help me.
Very accommodating and helpful! I rented 1 storage unit to move my 3 pods into (saving me $$ in the long run). The one I was shown had issues with the door, and he knew I wouldnt be able to handle it... Quickly offering me another(he knew his inventory!). While the pods were being emptied, I was able to quickly rent a truck using their free Wi-Fi. So simple! Cant wait till they get a gate for 24x7 access :)
Beware hidden charges. I tried returning my equipment during the morning, waited outside for 15 minutes, called customer service to return my trailer and they stated there was no system. After which, I received a $20 charge on my credit card for an “after hours” return that I completed during business hours. I would steer clear from this place, unless you like paying extra for simple services.
I arrived five minutes before closing and the gentleman working there said he could not check me in because he had turned the computer off. He told me I had to do it on my phone or leave the keys and be charged the after hours fee. I responded to him saying I was there during operating hours. He responded its in your contract. I read over the contract and it made no mention of having to be there any amount of time before closing.Terrible customer service, I will be renting from anywhere other then here next time.
I was pleased with this location for my u haul rental. In fact as I was ready to leave my battery on my car was dead. The kind young man Devin gave my battery a jump. It is so nice to see such great customer service in this day and age. The whole staff was very professional at this location. Our u haul was clean and very nice.
We spent over 45 minutes waiting with only two people ahead of us just to rent a hand truck. We ended up leaving without ever being waited on and went to A to Z Rental. Dont waste your time at this location.
Steven and his crew do an outstanding job.... they got me taken care of quickly, vehicle was in great shape, and have exemplified what customer service is....Simply put, this is the measuring stick by which all U-Haul stores should be measured.
I had a hitch installed on my Kia Sportage today. I had booked and paid for everything online. Mark, the manager, helped me out. He was friendly, courteous and explained how the hitch worked to me. As for timing, they initially estimated 1.5-2 hours, and this was accurate. I have no complaints and was extremely pleased with the service that I received. FYI, while they are installing the hitch, there is a nearby Starbucks on Union St to hang out in.
I have utilized the Uhaul, in Lakewood, several times thus far. While living in Lakewood, I changed apartments several times, my boyfriend moved, then I moved out of state and each time I went to the Lakewood Uhaul, Steven Mowery has always assisted me. HE IS ABSOLUTELY THE GREATEST!! Besides, getting some good laughs, he was professional and he definitely knows whats going on. He is definitely the man to see and he will take care of you. For your Uhaul needs, you will not be disappointed at the Lakewood location. 👍
Three and a half hours to install a hitch!?!? This is after they quoted it taking two at the most, when I arrived. This is probably because they have ONE person working, so every time a customer came in, my job got pushed back farther. Nice enough guy working there, but hire enough staff to do the job. If you value your time, dont waste it by doing business here.
Just to clarify THIS IS THE UNION LOCATION. There are multiple locations in Lakewood, some of which are extremly helpful; this one is horrible.

They advertise trucks for a per day rate but i just went in to rent a truck and i am told I would have to have it back by 5:30 today. Because they wont rent a truck for two days. . So know what i have to move without a truck because I wanted to load it today and unload it tomorrow.
Avoid this place at all costs! We had an absolutely horrible experience here with both truck rental and Uboxes. We ordered 4 Uboxes, and two of them were damaged. They checked the first one out to us damaged (clearly, they didnt inspect it first), and we only found out that the second one was damaged after we demanded to inspect the rest. On both the damaged Uboxes the door/latch wouldnt close. On one, the latch actually came off in our hands! The only solution we were offered was two replacement boxes that were significantly SMALLER than the first Uboxes (despite the fact that Uboxes only come in one size). Also, they refuse to put covers on the boxes when theyre outside at the Uhaul location, so if a sudden rainstorm blows up (not at all uncommon for Colorado in the summer!) they take the box away from you so they can put it in the warehouse.When we tried to complain to the manager, we were basically told take it or leave it. This, right in the middle of our move, when we essentially had no other option at that point. The manager was almost never on site, and we were only able to contact him by an employee calling him on his cellphone. The employees in general were incredibly slow to act on anything and completely unhelpful. On top of everything, they tried to overcharge us for our truck rental. Dont expect calling in a complaint to Uhaul to help - if you call in and ask to speak to someone above the local manager, theyll just have the local manager email you and then mark the complain as resolved. Also, Uhaul does not track your Uboxes during shipping, so will have no idea if they made it until you either get a call that they arrived or they just dont show up. I am done with Uhaul after this experience.
There was much confusion about the UBox process. I think with time the whole deal will be great, but right now its still convoluted.
Dmv and Comcast move over, we have a bigger problem player in town. The General manager Ran my hitch trailer lights through my wheel well, down my front driver suspension spring. Up my lowrr control arm, then zip tied it to the fuel line. Down my rear suspension arm, up the rear coil spring, to the frame and to the hitch. Even if you know nothing of cars you read the words suspension and fuel line. Contacted the store in person and phone. But employees say that we need to talk to the manager, but has not returned a phone call on two occasions past that. Customer service department found my install info, needed to be transfer, the next person said it Dosent exist and probly got it install somewhere other than uhaul. Rack attack is another option you should use. I only came here because they could get me in the next day and rack attack was two days. This was my mistake. Bad review seemed appropriate since i paid them to install it but Im now doing the work.

The person behind the desk was condescending and made the online process more difficult. He had zero cares to give and made that clear. When I asked about a military discount he blatantly ignored me and continued to stare at his computer. Plenty of other rental truck companies out there.

The facility leaked water which damaged some of the things I had in storage. Then the new owner tried to raise the monthly rent. Id had enough so I moved all my stuff into the Public Storage facility next door.
Truck was fine, the guy that rented it to us was slightly rude and didnt really seem like he cared much about customer service.
