I arrived for an 8:15 a.m. appointment 10 min early to complete registration. I was taken into a screening promptly at 8:15 a.m. 8:30 a.m. and someone peeked their head in the door and told me I’d be next and to keep watching a movie I was streaming on my phone while I waited. At 8:45 a.m. I was still waiting in the exam room for the doctor…at the 35min mark I decided to leave the clinic so I could make it to work by 9 a.m. at 8:50 I received a phone call from the clinic telling me is I wanted to turn around the doctor was finally ready to see me.If I had arrived 40 late for my appointment I would have been asked to reschedule out of respect for the other clients, yet this office feels it is acceptable to make patients wait over 40min to be seen?I have never been treated with such disrespect as a patient! I plan to move our family’s eye care to a clinic who values us as patients and values our time as well.
It saddens me to write this review as I saw the original Dr. McDonald as a kid, but this office is just not the same anymore. I also wasn’t going to write this as long as my complaint was dealt with more professionally. After the phone call I just received I feel this review is necessary. The service has gone down. As an office that claims to have pediatric eye doctors I would have expected better service with a 2 year old in the office with me. I expect great communication when it comes to the steps we’re taking. That means when you dilate my child’s eyes, I expect to be told that we will be waiting in the waiting room for a half out for the process. Not dropped off there after the girl was disappointed and rather rude when I told her that I would not be purchasing glasses through them. I would have to go where they’re affordable. Only to have a second opinion later on finding out that Dr. Kelsey provided the incorrect prescription when getting a second opinion. The gal from McDonald eyecare by the name of Heather who called to address my concerns was pleasant and really made me feel like my feeling regarding this experience mattered. Said she’d talk to the doctors and call me back. Dr. Molly McDonald, however called me to justify the appointment as a whole, rather then make me feel as if my feelings mattered. She also questioned the integrity of this other doctor who gave me the second option. I am surprised by her overbearing attitude on the phone as she was not like this before, she was much more humble. Either way, I know as a mom who works part-time at her own business, I’ve now paid for a second eye exam and a pair of glasses that were unnecessary. I’m not really sure who to trust and the only thing I can think to do is pay to get a third opinion, as I do not want to return to this office based off the service and the amount of money I’ve invested in at this point. Yes, I didn’t get my dilation done! I cannot drive when that is done and I was not going to take the chance with my daughter in the car. I also have no child care. I also didn’t return to get it completed based on the way I felt the service went. They’ve done my appointments before without it and I didn’t think it was needed. I might also mention when I’m in a busy office full of staff and customers, Dr Kelsey should not have come out of the back room without her mask on and chewing food.
Had planned a visit to get my eyes checked. A few days before my appointment had a problem with one eye. They got me in immediately and realized I was having TIA, or mini-stroke. Sent me right to the hospital. Long story short all is okay. Got my new glasses and can see better than I have in years. Molly and all Her people are professional and friendly. If I could give more than a five star rating, I would!! Highly recommend!!
Our son did vision eye therapy for 20+weeks. Huge shoutout to Dean who my son still talks about! He made his appointments fun, challenged him, and helped him figure out ways to improve if he was struggling. We would highly recommend McDonald Eye Care.Jodi and Alex
My daughter has just completed her weekly Vision Therapy with Nicole.I have been pleased to see the progress she has made since August. We still need to have our final exam with the provider - but her improvement has been measured at school and she has surpassed all their expectations with regard to her growth in reading. My only wish is that we would have known about Vision Therapy when she was younger.Thank you Nicole, for your commitment to pushing my daughter to her highest potential, all the while showing empathy and compassion.
Every staff member I have worked with has been very friendly, very helpful and very patient. The doctors are knowledgeable and explain things in a way that is easy to understand. Not in too much of a rush to be sure you know and understand. Highly recommend!!
McDonald Eye Care provided me with an excellent pair of Oakley sunglasses that lasted me three years. Their optometrists are highly personable and very child-friendly - the best customer service in the country.
Had problems at first with new glasses! Went back and my doctor fixed the problem! Great customer service, thank you
They all are very caring, and look out for there costumers.
By far and away one of the best experiences getting a prescription for my contacts. I had been using a big box store optometrist for the last 6-7 years. I was referred to McDonald Eye Care and saw Dr Tony McDonald. He made certain I had the right prescription. He allowed me to use a couple trial sets to make sure my vision was correct. I liked that he made sure my vision was dialed in before we ordered a supply of contact lenses. The entire staff was fantastic. Highly recommend, especially if youre currently a big box store optometrist. They just made absolutely sure I had the right prescription and I appreciated that attention to detail.Update: Saw a different doctor this time. My regular one was out due to a medical leave. Still same great service. Still very happy.
This was my first eye exam in over 30 years. The entire staff was friendly and professional and I really felt that Dr. McDonald was informative and cared about me as a new patient. The facility was high-tech but still had a personable feel not to mention the comfy waiting room furniture. I will definitely be back for my next exam.
I am extremely happy with McDonald Eye Care. Dr. McDonald has helped me through numerous eye issues and referred me on to specialists when needed. He has also been diligent at helping me find the best correction with contacts. He had me try many different brands and strengths before choosing the one best for me. The staff has been nothing but polite, helpful and knowledgeable. I have been to 4 other eye care centers and in my mind McDonald Eye Care is the best!
Best eye doctor ever! Dr. Meg is the best!
Awesome experience, great people!
This is the only eye doctor I will go to. I’ve been going for over 20 years. I’m always treated with respect and given the best service with the best Eye care.
Dr. Anthony McDonald is one in a million. His expertise is matched by the amount of time and care he gives to his patients.
Worst experience I have ever had with any type of doctor.. Went in because I had something in my eye and they kept telling me they couldnt see anything. Seemed to not care one bit about the patient and would just tell me that my eye was irritated go home and it will fix itself. It is now 5 weeks later and they still havent been able to figure it out and will not reference me to a specialist. Needless to say I will never return to this doctor
I brought my glasses in for adjustments--and had the pleasure of working with Laura Miller. She clearly has the golden touch when it comes to fitting glasses correctly. I couldnt be more pleased with her customer service and skill in properly fitting my glasses.
My entire family of 5 uses McDonald Eye Care Assoc. When my daughter, who has always been less than graceful, saw Dr. McDonald he immediately detected a vision problem called Convergence Insufficiency. No other doctor had picked up on it. She wears glasses and has a much easier time reading, writing neater and just walking straight! :0) Myself, had an incident where my new sunglasses had become scratched. I called and sure enough, they replaced the lenses-no questions asked! Ive always experienced fantastic customer service. Even today-daughter lost her glasses and the staff went above to get her a sooner appt.
Very disappointed in their customer services. After reading the reviews, and seeing that it was very kid-friendly, I thought I would try the services. But no- its not deaf-friendly business. Refused to work with me to get a professional American Sign Language interpreter. And the person kept asking me over and over again when calling back, asking that I bring a family or friend member after learning that the health insurance does not cover for the cost of the interpreting, and that the owner/clinic had to pay for the cost of the interpreter. Im taking my business elsewhere.
Great experience, with a staff that really knows their stuff. Will be going back.
My husband has been a patient at McDonald Eye Care Associates for years and has nothing but great things to say about this clinic. Therefore, when I suddenly had bleeding in my eye late on a Saturday morning, he told me to call and see if I could be seen. I did, and even though they were very close to closing for the day, they told me to come right over. I saw Dr. Doeden and was diagnosed with a vitreol hemorrhage that was so bad they couldnt see behind the blood to the retina. Dr. Doeden called in Dr. Molly McDonald for a second opinion and called my primary eye clinic. She also consulted with the vitreo retinal surgery clinic. Most of this was done after she should have been home enjoying her Saturday. As I left, I felt assured that Dr. Doeden had given me the best care possible and that I had several options for future care.I would recommend Eye Care Associates for anyone who wants the best care no matter the circumstances.
