Have had a couple issues with my Escalade and they are always willing to give me a lay out of the problem, the cost and the diagnosis summary when I pick it up. They are very customer oriented. Will give them all my vehicles needs
I highly recommend this shop. Very honest, above and beyond service!!!
Great guys very friendly and professional. I take all my cars to him. Love the service and the information always leave here completely satisfied.
Jimmy was prompt and kept in constant contact about the status of my repairs. Hes very personable and courteous. Thank you sir for helping me with my clutch repair.
Good worker did exactly what I need done I appreciate this time in this work I will go back
Awesome service and friendly staff. They really care about their customers here. I highly recommend them :)
Brought my car in on Tuesday evening because my door would not open. Jack, the GM, told me to being it by and hed look at it and see what he could do. He was real upfront about what everything was going to cost. He explained everything to me and did it all in a timely manner! I really appreciated his honesty and work! He went above and beyond for me and Ill definitely be back!
The owner Jack is such a great guy! I know that from my experience with him working on my car. He first worked on it back in August, and done a great job and recently he worked on it again. When I got my car back it felt like I was riding in a new car (even though its a 2004). Jack was so professional and extremely helpful. He answered all of my questions and was willing to work with me financially. I definitely recommend this business because Jack and his team do amazing work and it doesnt take long! I will be his customer for as long as I can.
Great work. Reasonable prices
I am so livid I don’t know where to start . I brought in a 2007 Toyota tocoma probably about eight months ago For what I was assured would be a total and complete rebuild of my transmission that was assessed and quoted for about 2800$ Just got a back with full diagnostics from Toyota of Knoxville off of North peters the transmission has hard shifting and severe damage to it Just like when I first brought it into the shorter gentleman named Jimmy . And Jimmy was the Assuring me of his quality and integrity of the internal parts he used in his transmissions but Comes to find out after a month and a half of having my vehicle he still felt the need to half a.. it and leave me $3000 sh.. out of luck and I have electrical company that’s really suffering from this
Jack is great at his job, and these guys know transmissions! Had a clutch/flywheel replacement a month or two ago, and things have been going great! Great service, quality parts, respectable staff. Would recommend for all your transmission needs.
I had a great experience. Jimmy fixed a sensor for me. I will be back and recommend to friends.
My husband just bought a 2011 Chevy Silverado in December 2015. In April 2016 the transmission went out. We brought the truck to Transmission World and worked with Larry. Larry assured us that he would fixed the issue and we had the transmission rebuilt. It took five weeks and multiple calls to get any information about our vehicle. I did not receive a receipt until I told Larry I was on my way to the shop. A while after we got it back, it started acting up again. We called and found out that Useless Larry is no longer there, which left us stressed that this would effect the warranty. Jack, the new manager, listened to us and assured us that he would get this issue resolved. As he had the truck, he noticed that there was another part out and will be fixing this as well. W appreciate Jack taking the time to correct the mistakes that some one else made. I am very happy so far with Jack and will update my post once we pick up the truck. He has went above and beyond so far to make us happy customers.
I’m at kenjo a lot and the guy with the eyebrow piercing that works next door is just beautiful.
Jim is a great guy and goes above and beyond to meet customer needs. Very professional, excellent work on my sons Miata. Definitely recommend Transmission World that does everything right!!! Thanks again Jim!
I went in with transmission problems.and jack was able to explain it to me in a way I could understand and they were very nice and gave me options to help lower some of the cost low my car works better now than it did before it had trouble and I wouldnt go anywhere else to have mine worked on best auto shop Ive seen they even had me come back just to check everything was working fine 100% satisfied and nothing got taken out of my car still had all my valuables untouched
Pretty excellent. Explained everything in detail, good on price. Manager Jack Gosnel, and colleague Jimmy were extremely helpful and professional. Even topped up my transmission fluid for free to keep me out of trouble while I went away to think about their quote. Recommended!
Jack at Trans world was awesome. He obviously cares about important small business concepts, like face to face courtesy, honest service, and fair pricing. I ended up having to have my entire transmission reconditioned, but he lead me through every part of the process. I will be coming back regularly for a few aftermarket installs and maintenance. Its hard to find fair and honest service like this everywhere!
All around couldnt have asked a better job better price and all around amazingly satisfied with the services provided. Compared to all the other places I called they where the best prices and best at what they do. He is a specialist and they know what they are doing. If you go here (highly recommended) ask for Jack and he will get you squared away with 100% customer service.
Will not be bringing my car back to these people. The lady at the front desk was rude when I called and asked questions about my vehicle and would not give me any significant information about what was going on. When I went to pick up my car, there was roughly ten sets of keys sitting out on the front counter with no one at the front desk. I got my keys and let them know I was leaving with my car. When I put the keys in the ignition MY CAR WOULDNT START! They had to jump off my battery. When I finally got my car started and on the road I noticed that they had driven my car so much that I had ZERO miles to empty. When i dropped the car off I had half a tank, and over 200 miles to empty! They drove my car over 200 miles in under two days and still couldnt figure out what was wrong with it. I had no apology or explanation about having literally no gas left. Overall, my experience with these people have been awful. I would not recommend this business.
I had an awesome experience at transmission world. The owner is wonderful took care of my truck like it was his own. No one else will work on my car, transmission world is my permanent go to spot.
Great experience, quick service! I took my 27 T-bucket for a transmission filter change and pan gasket replacement. They did a great job and had it done in an afternoon. They are very professional and I felt I could trust them with my hot rod all along.
I originally dealt with Larry who at the time I thought was a honest person. After getting the run around about why my rebuilt tranny was not done correctly I had reached my breaking point. I spoke with Jack the new owner or manager today and was very please with his professionalism and concern with repairing my vehicle correctly. I would recommend this shop to anyone. Do not let the past owner scare you away.
Been a customer of Transmission world for 5 years, always had good service. Took my infinity g35 down to jack and it ended up being an unplugged sensor, didnt cost me a penny. Jack is a really great guy and Id recommend them to anyone! Thanks a lot!!!
This is a good honest place to take your vehicle to get repaired. I recently had to take my car here to get a lot of work done. They were very helpful and explained everything they did not try to talk down to me or over me. I paid a lot less than I I would have if Id gone to the dealership that I usual take my car to get repairs done.
I want to share a little bit about my experience with transmission world in Knoxville TN. I came there in July of 2016 to have my transmission rebuilt, I will just say my experience with Larry was less than a positive one. Then in march of 2017 the transmission stop working again, if it werent for the one year warranty I would not have returned to transmission world. Surprisingly they had a new manager named Jack, he not only honored my warranty but went above and beyond. He made sure they rebuilt my transmission so that I wouldnt run it to anymore issues. Now my car is driving like new again.. thanks jack and Transmission world
Jack Gosnell and his service crew did a great job. Very knowledgeable and personable. I would recommend this store to anyone who needs this service.
The absolute best. Very respectful, fair, efficient, and professional. Jack Gosnell and his crew are the epitome of excellence...Thank you from your new loyal customer.
Excellent customer service. They are very friendly. Great job on rebuilding transmission. I definitely recommend this place.
Take my old truck here often to check in and have a part replaced here or there. Transmission that I had reconditioned is two months in and working great. Jacks a solid guy.
Jim does a great job
After analyzing the issue, the new managaer, Jack, wanted to make sure that I understood what was going on, before ever talking about money. Jack and his crew set the bar for professionalism, and knowledge. I have a 2004 Ford F-150 that had a fifth cylinder that was completely dead. Jacks assurance, and personal attention in making sure that I myself, and all of his customers get name brand parts and materials, left me confident that my vehicle was going to be taken care of the right way. I knew the exact procedure his mechanics were going to take in order to restore my truck, and now it runs better than when I bought it. Jacks enthusiastic attitude in attending to the customers needs, with good old fashion hard work, and fair pricing goes unmatched. I couldnt recommend anyones services higher!
Best place to get your vehicals fixed. Jack wont bullshit you, he is straightforward with what needs to be fixed and wont add things with out talking to you first and letting u decide if you want to have it fixed. All and all Jack had my Xterra fixed for under a grand and back to me In 2 days. I will be going back for any other issues. Also if he cant fix something he will recommend someone who can. Honestly probably one of the only (or last) honest mechanic left.
UPDATE: I took it to a mechanic who informed me that not only was my transmission not rebuilt right but also because of their negligence, I now have engine problems as well! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Shady people who will not stand by their warranty! I had my transmission rebuilt in September and immediately had problems leaving me stranded. I took it back and they fixed the problem only to have it start making noise again in December. I took it in and the crackhead secretary took it for a test drive and said nothing was wrong with. Fast forward til today when we are stranded AGAIN because the transmission is messed up. Now the owner will not honor the warranty when it was a year warranty. He is insisting that it is only 12,000 miles! Im guessing hes hurting for business since he messaged me a couple of months ago begging for work and Im going to go out on a limb after dealing with these people way more than I should have and say that there is a major drug problem here.
Jack was very great . Told me everything that was needing done to my truck and work with me through hole progress . Just took it back for 10 day check up and was very pleased with how everything working. I will recommend them to everyone I know . Thank you transmission world.
Owner Jimmy was great help to get my car running.Even gave me info to give my son on what I need done.I was there twice in a week
Went to Transmission World with an intermittent, faint squealing sound in the front end. I was a bit hesitant to bring my car in because I didnt want to be presented with a disaster scenario and be scared into a big repair.Happily, the mechanic took the time for a long test drive and visual under the hood check with me. He was able to suggest various possibilities, but honestly stated he couldnt pinpoint the problem (he is experienced, with over 40 years in the field) and advised me to give it time to become clearer what the problem might be; thus ruling out a major transmission or front end problem.I appreciate the honesty and his not just trying to make a sale by having me jump in and replace something.Ill definitely come back and will think of them first for any future auto repair.
Im so impressed with the time that the owner took to discuss my car. Very friendly service.
Great work at a good price!
Had these guys replace the clutch and flywheel on my GTI. Reasonably priced and just passed 2000 miles without any issues.
They did a super job on my truck....very quick turn around ! impressed
Very professional and pleasant on the phone!!
This was by far the worse experience. Our vehicle had to repaired numerous times and is still down. I will never go back to them again. The manager is very rude and disrespectful. I wont refer Noone to him even if they were the only transmission shop in knoxville. Our family depends on our vehicle but has been without it to many times due to the transmission. I would recommend take your business else where.
Good people good service thanks to jack nd his team they have my business anytime
I went to get my oil changed at 1st Choice in Solway. As I was waiting for my oil change, Jeff came and got me before time (not a good sign) Jeff showed me where my truck was leaking transmission fluid. They didnt do transmissions and told me about Transmission World on Walker Springs. I went in and talked to the manager Jack Gosnell and told him I had a transmission leak. Jack went out and checked it in the rain saw the leak, proceeded to tell me that my transmission fluid was a pretty pink. He advised me to leave my truck because if I drive it, I could make my problem worse. Jack seemed very concerned about my truck above and beyond most standards. He even took my aunt and me home. Not to many businesses would do that! Jack gives his customers the upmost care! BTW, THE OWNER WORKS THERE ALSO! When I went to pick up my truck, I told Jack how everyone that I mentioned Transmission World was not making good comments about them. FYI ITS UNDER NEW OWNER AND NEW MANAGEMENT ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRANSMISSION WORLD!!!! EXCELLENT SERVICE,CARE AND REPAIR IN A TIMELY MANNER!!
DO NOT GET SERVICE HERE. RUN RUN RUN RUN. Had a complete engine replaced and these mechanics did not install correctly, it took over a month to even get my car back. When my car was returned it would not accelerate more than 15mph. This shop is a SCAM! The car would not drive and I was forced to get car properly repaired by EXPERIENCED mechanics. Transmission world was an absolutely horrible experience and I pray that this message can save someone else heartache and wasted money. And to add injury to insult they passed car rental charges on to me, AFTER they agreed to pay for the rental. RUN RUN RUN RUN. Do business with Transmission world in Knoxville Tennessee if you like DISHONEST INEXPERIENCED mechanics. This shop is NOT SHORT on lies, scams and incompetence and if you do business with them you will pay in the long run. RUN RUN RUN
Honest...actually found a shop that tells you everything. No transmission was needed, but serviced as needed.
Nice people and service. Honest man. I like Transmission World.
So I posted my last review about how I spent $2,000 here on my transmissions and when I got my car back the rear end was messed up, my brakes were destroyed, none of my problems were fixed, and there is a loud knocking that now occurs. Jack bragged about how hard he was pushing my car. Well today professional Jack, a 46 year old, called me, an 18 year old, to express how my review made him feel. He cussed me out, tried to justify why he was driving my car so hard with some BS excuse, and then got all upset when I gave his language right back to him. He then explained his hatred for the younger generation and said that he will never go above and beyond for a young person again and im sure ill be getting another call soon which im fine with because this call was hilarious. Do not use this shop. They will ruin your car, then get pissed if you give them a bad review. The guy who towed my car when I got it back from Transmission World said he would not recommend them to anyone based on the horror stories hes heard. Cant wait for the call ill be getting from this review. YEAR LATER UPDATE: Ive pretty much fixed all the things that I believe this shop broke, based on me not having any of the above listed problems until after the week or two my car was with this shop. Again I would not trust this shop, unless you hate your car. Also as a reply to your reply, You did all the work and you were paid all the money. I told you up front what I was putting into the trans, as I was not trying to build an insane transmission, and $2,000 was plenty for what I needed. Not my fault you tried going over that amount and I said no, but you never did more work than I paid for.
God bless the veterans and the way they are prepared. This automotive mechanic is prepared to help.
!!!!!NEVER USE THIS COMPANY USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!UPDATE had a strange sounds coming from car I took it to Toyota turns out the transmission they put in had a cracked casing. Also it was missing several of the bolts to keep it held in. They also broke my lower motor mount which according to Toyota had to be done when the transmission was originally removed. I took it back to Jim to have them fix the mount he kept my car for five days and when I got it back the mount was still broken.2400 to replace the transmission and clutch... Got my car back and within 2 hours it was broken again... Also my car had a full take of gas when it got in the tow truck but some how it had not even a drop in it when I picked it up. Good thing I have a warranty for a year so I can now deal with going back there time and time and time again until I just sell my car to someone else.
I have a 2000 cheverlet caviler, I called Jim at Transmission world and he gave me a estimated price on the work I needed done. Jim also assured me that it was only an estiment and that he really couldnt be sure of the total price until he could get a look at the problem for himself. I had to have called around to 9 or more shops and no one was as straight forward with me as Jim. Also Jim told me that my car would be ready by the next day, to my surprise, it was! Thank you Jim and everyone at Transmission World!
I TRULY wish there was an option to do NEGATIVE Stars. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. and will worn anyone in my sight not to. Larry is very nice, BUT he doesnt care. Its fake.I went there with a clunk noise. He had it for a few days. Said it was a bearing. Ok cool. Got it back Saturday. As soon as I drove off it still wasnt right. Called him and told him. He said okay bring it back. I had a recall and took my truck to Toyota. They told me I had a very bad bearing in the back leaking axel seal and soaked break pads. YET LARRYS WORKERS didnt find that the first time??? Seriously? Anyway brought it back to him on a Monday with a FULL TANK OF GAS... TOLD HIM THE ACTUAL PROBLEM. Picked it up Saturday. I had 3 quarters of a tank. They forgot to hide the fact that they drove my truck for 140 miles. So please tell me why that needed to happen? I literally do your job for you and tell you the problem. So anyway I wish I could upload pictures. The inside of my truck was very clean. until his workers left grease stains all over my seat. Someone left cigarette papers in my truck. And they left Dorito bags in my truck in the back seat. SO THEY took MY TRUCK FOR A JOY RIDE. I feel COMPLETELY disrespected. I called Larry that Monday and told him everything said hed reimburse me for the gas, I said Im more concerned about my seat. He said he knows a guy and hell call me in half an hour. Well its been a week and no call.PLEASE IF I CAN SAVE ONE PERSON FROM THIS AWFUL EXPERIENCE. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!I have two jobs. One job I work with over 500 people the second about 200 and every chance I get I will tell people not to go here .
Hi, this will be long, but to the point. I rated 5 stars due to not having 6+ to rate them.I called a transmission shop due to needing a rear main seal replaced on a 1996 acura RL. Talked to Jim, and was quoted a decent price on the phone. OK! Took car to him, he changed seal, i paid. Still had oil leak, but being an older car, and it being new to me, i needed other work done. Talked to jim about leak and mentioned the other work i needed done. He quoted me a price ( lower than what i was quoted elsewhere) I jumped on it. 24 hours later, i had a new water pump, belts, hoses, and thermostat and timing belt. I was happy. Still had oil leak. Took back after he suggested cleaning the motor. He then placed a dye in it and told me to come back in a week.Fast forward a week, was told it was the oil pan gasket. I had been told those dont leak, so i had him look at hte rear main seal again. He then offered to fidn the leak, and fix it. So 5 days later, i had no leak and my car back. oh, was told i had a broke transmission mount ( car has 224k+ on it) ok, another 300$ but it needed done. great bunch of guys. Ive had the car back in twice for little things that got forgotten . even replaced a axel ( their cost) due to a rock guard coming off and puncturing the axel boot. Just today had them looking at an engine code the car popped ( wasnt their work, its an old car)They have my business. Jim is a great guy and does his best to make it right. If you read reviews, and see some of the bad ones, look also at hte date. some of these are old. Do yourself a favor, and take your car to jim, and let him and his guys fix it
I currently have a complaint pending with the Better Business Bureau. With that being said, Ill be concise. I went to Transmission World and dealt with Jacob to start. I wanted the free 24 point diagnostics to determine the cause of a slipping gear I felt. Upon completion, I was told that it would most likely require a rebuild. I informed him that I didnt not have the finances to do it just yet and would not be approved for financing. That being said, he wanted to do an RDI (Remove-Disassemble-Inspect) I was not told a price at the time and I was not even told what the initials meant at the time. While it is my fault for not questioning, I was stressed upon the news of the repairs needed.I then signed the authorization and left. The next day, I called to inform them I was picking up my 2002 Acura MDX. Jacob first gave me the run around, stating that he was still trying to find me financing and that he would call me back. A few hours later the owner, Gus, called to inform me that it would be $595 to pick the truck up. I was not aware of this cost. I was also not given a copy of an estimate so I couldnt even review what was being done. I told him that I was not able to finance a rebuild and I had already told his employee, Jacob, this information. Gus stated that he would try and work with me and would call me back the next morning. The next morning I called in to get a grand total and to let them know that I would be in the next afternoon to get the vehicle. I spoke with Peter who informed me of the total price but also of the fact that an RDI did NOT include putting the transmission back in the vehicle. I was NEVER told of this fact. I requested the total price it would be to have the transmission put back in so I could at least drive it away. Peter said he would get back to me. After a few hours, Gus called back to say he was going to cut me a deal and put the transmission back in for free and that he would be changing the fluid for free as well. All I had to do was pay the $595. I agreed and informed him I would be back in the next afternoon to get the vehicle. The next afternoon I picked up the vehicle. I spoke with Peter who was apologetic to say the least. He gave me the invoice upon payment and told me that the $595 would be applied to the future rebuild should I come back to them.I then took the Acura to Chips Transmissions on Northshore for a second opinion. I dealt mainly with John who was very respectful and informative. He informed me that there was not only nothing wrong with my transmission, other than incorrect fluid used, but that the transmission had not been removed to inspect by Transmission World. He took pictures for proof and is offering to stand as a witness should this need to go to small claims court. That being said, John, with Chips Transmissions, flushed and replaced the fluid for free and my Acura is now running beautifully. Save the time and hassle and skip Transmission World.
Took excellent care of my car, Jim got the vic back running right.. Crown Vic Boys President
