Really good place to go if you want a traditional Hawaiian breakfast and you are gluten-free dairy-free. Price is really good and they dont cook with any butter just peanut oil. Also I would order a macadamia nut + vanilla while here - they make amazing lattes and have alternative milk options

Piko Cafe was awesome! They have traditional Hawaiin foods which was sort of hard to find on the island. Go earlier in the day as they make a limited amount of lau lau and some of the other special foods requiring prep. We got the lau lau bowl, fried saimin, garlic noodles, and the furikake fries. The lau lau was amazing and is a dish with pork and fish wrapped in taro leaves. The garlic noodles were delicious as well as the saimin. I preferred the garlic noodles to the saimin but both were great. The furikake fries were topped with shredded seaweed, barbecue sauce, and spicy mayo (I think) and were great! I highly recommend eating here. Prices were reasonable for the island and staff was really friendly and helpful. I also recommend the POG juice (passion orange guava).

Decided to go simple HEC (on Hawaiian sweet roll) for protein and double down on the garlic dry noodles... lordy, so good 🍜. Wife went for their talked about pancakes 🥞. Yummy spot. Will return!!

First morning on the island I was hoping to find a local gem for a delicious early breakfast before a day of adventure! My friend and I decided to visit this cafe that was 50 minutes out of the way from our airbnb from all the good reviews and menu options we found online, we decided it would be worth it.After arriving, we entered to find a busy and lively little cafe and was greeted warmly from a seemingly overworked and friendly employee. She expertly and very quickly helped us through placing our order. I had a question about ordering a dish with a modification and she proceeded to ask confirmation in the back without pause. The order went without a hitch and we began what was about to be a 35 minute wait outside as there were still many inside and no seats available. After waiting, we received our order and decided to eat outside in the sunshine. We open each of our compostable clam-shells with increasing disappointment. First I find my Vegan Fried Rice (ordered successfully without bean sprouts!) and notice the portion size isnt what I was expecting, but the dish looked well crafted! We open the second item to find our Hawaiian Toast, 4 half slices (again less than we imagined for the cost) and unimpressively quite less remarkable than the taro sweet bread and a custard coating description on the chalkboard menu led us to believe.Lastly, and by far the most disappointing was the Breakfast Special. My friend opened the container to find two half cup sized scoops of plain, unadorned, unflavored white rice, sitting next to what we suspect was a prepackaged and microwaved egg patty, and 4 tiny slices of Portuguese sausage. This Special was misconstrued as a full meal and I was embarrassed for my friend as we had envisioned a dish that was more substantial than half a single sausage link, 1 cup of plain white rice, and institution eggs. The flavour of the fried rice dish was alright and the french toast had at least some taro in it spread about, but overall the meal was a let down and I would not visit again. This cafe seemed more about aesthetic and trendy vibes on social media than a true foodies experience.

We came here and ordered loco moco along with Hawaiian toast. Both dishes were pretty good and we enjoyed them. One thing I would like to point out for future visitors to this cafe is that I noticed the staff not being careful with handling of customer food/drink, especially in this time during the pandemic.I saw the customer in front of me ordered some coffee drink. The staff prepared the coffee drink then went along to put plastic straws in the cup. The straws came with a piece of paper covering the top of the straw which was nice. BUT, the staff then went along to remove the piece of paper covering the straw then used his fingers to push the top of the straw to make it go further deep into the cup. The piece of paper covering the straw shouldve been left there for the customer to remove and even if the staff were to remove it he should never have touched the top of the straw with his bare hands because that part of the straw goes into the mouth of the customer.I think this especially important in this harsh times when we are all vigilant with what we touch due to the pandemic.

We ordered breakfast here - French toast eggs bacon etc. prices were great but portions were very small. I asked for Tatar tots instead of the rice and received about 6 tots. We felt half full and wanted to eat elsewhere. Probably wouldn’t come back here due to the port customer service and the fact that the food wasn’t that great.Go to Kihei Cafe if you want great amazing food with large portions and excellent customer serviceResponse to Owners reply- If the Tatar tots weren’t on the menu then you should have communicated this a customer. And they aren’t “picky needs” because my baby couldn’t eat the rice. Restaurants should not discriminate and be accommodating to everyone. Also we never asked for over easy eggs and that was another problem, you can’t assume what customers want.. again miscommunication. As for the tip, this is like a fast food restaurant, you order at the front, there is no service so a tip isn’t required and especially when a customer is unhappy.Instead of handling this like a mature adult you are calling your customers cheap. Stop lashing out at your customers you should take responsibility for the POOR service. I guess this shows how you treat others. You proved my point. Oh and by the way.. being kind is part of the Hawaiian culture so maybe you should try to show some kindness. Thank you
