DO NOT BUY! I purchased a car in May 2020...was promised a second key..told it would come later due to covid....here were are a year and a half later and still no key. Every time Ive called I get the run around that they will contact me...well today I called to check up on the key and they said very nonchalantly yea, your not going to get a key. I asked to speak to the manager and the rep told me he would have him call me...he didnt even get my information. I had to pause before the called ended and asked him if he would take my information down to give to the GM!

Initially, I was very happy with the service we received at Avis. They were very helpful when it came to working with my husband and I to get a loan approved. The general manager had a lot of personality.There are 2 reasons I’m leaving a 1 star review. My first problem is that we did not drive the vehicle on the highway during the test drive (our fault) but once we drove the car home it wobbles horribly over 55. It feels like the wheels are going to fall off. My 2nd problem is, not even a week after purchasing our vehicle the back window shattered before our eyes. My 2 year old son was in the back seat on the side of the shattered window and there was glass all over him and he was absolutely horrified. Thankfully he was not hurt. The window was not cracked or “broken” into like the dealer suggested. We didn’t hit the window or anything. That is very concerning for anyone not just because we have children. We ended up going back to Avis to fix the wobbling and broken window. Well, they would not cover the window that shattered all over my son (super frustrating) But said they would fix whatever was causing the car to wobble. They ended up giving us two new tires but when we drove home the car is still very much wobbly and now we’re stressed trying to take the car to an actual dealership to find out what’s wrong. Praying it’s not the transmission or anything serious. I don’t believe I should be taking a car that I purchased a week ago to a mechanic. Especially when this appeared to be a reputable car lot. This is one of the biggest purchases people make after a house. You want security knowing that a vehicle is going to last. Reliable transportation is everything especially in Houston. Having a great personality as a car salesman means nothing if customers can’t trust you. Everyone was all in our faces and excited when we purchased the car but we waiting an hour for Charles Williams to come out of his office just to speak with us. Lloyd the car salesman acted as if we didn’t exist and he had no idea what was going on. Shiesty!

I purchased the car in January. Christian was a very helpful salesperson and did all he could to facilitate. After signing the paperwork, they handed me ONE key. I asked where the 2nd key was and was told they usually show up a couple of weeks after the sale from the corporate office. STILL NO 2ND KEY. I was told they normally don’t come with a second key. This from a company that prides itself on making you carry wire key ring with both keys on in your pocket when you rent from them.Then I get a call last week telling me there was an issue with the registration and I need to go get the car inspected and they’ll reimburse me. Not for my time or effort, but just the inspection. (And they still can’t get me a second key!) I assume they know what these keys cost. Tack that onto the cost of the car...This is not the way to do business. Won’t be going back to Avis for future car purchases.

Financed a car in March and the process was smooth. My only problem and concern was that I was promised I would get the metal plates in the mail by Fedex. However, I received a call yesterday by some lady that they were ready, but I would have pick them up. Now I have to drive 50 min again. :/

This was our first time purchasing a car so in general it was just a nerve-racking experience. We went through Avis as we were hoping to not get the traditional used car sales experience. While our sales rep was very helpful and we feel we got a good price on our car, it was very much the traditional used car lot experience. “Let me talk to my manager about what we can do,” was a phrase we heard several times over the time we were there.The reason for the poor review was for a broken promise. The car had two issues. A cigarette hole burned into the back seat, and some smashed buttons on the steering wheel. Both were promised to be fix after purchase and we could schedule a time for that repair. After a few calls we got the hole fixed in the backseat, however the steering wheel has not. We have called, emailed, texted and each time we have been dodged.My recommendation is if you’re buying a car from them, don’t sign till everything is fixed on the car first.

Dont buy your car here!!! I bought my car in this place a year ago and my plates took almost 8 months to arrive, I went more than 5 times to ask for the title of my vehicle and first they told me they did not know why it had not arrived, then they told me that they would call to see what happened, but they never called, so I had to come back again, then they told me that they had issued it but maybe it had been lost in the mail, and if that was the case, then that it is not their fault. So I asked for a copy in the TxDMV, request the copy as They told me I could do (I had to pay to have the copy sent) but then a letter arrived in response to my request, saying that they DO NOT HAVE the original title because it was rejected and returned due to problems with the title tax payments. So I went back to complain, they told me that they were going to solve the problem however it has been almost a month and nobody gives me an answer, I call every week and nobody answers, I go there and they tell me that the person who is in charge of this is not really there. a terrible service!!

Bought a white Toyota Camry at the end of January and have yet to receive any tags and license plates; it is May! I was quoted 6-8 weeks, and I have not heard any thing else. They were quick to get my payment but cant get me the items I paid for. Ive called several times, and have been put on hold, hung up on and have not received any information on the location of my tags. Covid has nothing to do with my tags taking so long. My husband bought a car right after me and received his tags after 3 weeks. I called the DMV twice and they stated AVIS has not sent in any information for me to receive my tags. Yesterday, I filed a complaint with the DMV for their lack of negligence. If I dont receive my tags soon I will be taking further action this is beyond ridiculous.

Still waiting for my plates. After calling and calling, they said the regional mgr, finance mgr would call back, nothing. They finally told me to go to the DVM and pay for another temp plates. They will reimburse me. Also, they said that the one person that handles the paper work at the title company is out sick. Same with the Finance mgr. I am so hot, it is a pain to deal with this. Constant run around. I also was never shown the CarFax, but found accident paperwork and insurance card in the car, makes me question the condition of the van.

Previously working in auto sales I have high expectations and coming to Avis car sales was a great experience, far better than the regular car sales experience. Had the vehicle we wanted listed for a very fair price, it was in great condition and had no worries about purchasing. The sales staff were laid back and not pushy, didnt get the sleezy sales speech, just took the car out for a drive, they assessed our trade and offered much more than expected, didnt even have to negotiate a single thing. The financing was quick and simple and our trade in loan was paid very quickly. We were in and out in about two hours, it was a no hassle, laid back simple purchase. I would recommend them to anyone.

We purchased a vehicle July 2020 and have not received our permanent plates. We are still driving around with tags that expired in August 2020. I have called weekly, created a case with their call center, created a complaint through the DMV also. I spoke with someone at the actual dealership in December who stated we would receive them in 7 days. It is now mid January 2021 and there are still no plates. They throw out random dates to get you off the phone. I would not recommend purchasing a vehicle from here.Update: Its still been six months and still no license plates. Their response to this was of no help.

So, I bought my car from Avis in July 2020. Of course, I looked over the car to see if there was anything that needed to be fixed before I bought it and the only thing I saw was that there was a big crack in the windshield. Easy fix right? I was told it was going to be fixed BEFORE I took the car off the lot. However, when I got there to purchase and everything they told me the people that was suppose to fix the windshield was just going to come to my house to fix it the next day (I got that in writing, just in case). They did not come to fix it the next day and I had to actually stalk Avis for the next about 3-4 weeks before I got any answers.. but it did get fixed.. I also bought my car through a credit union.. So Avis should’ve sent my title over to them, right? However Avis was taking forever to send the title over to them to the point that I had the credit union coming at me about the title. So AGAIN, I had to stalk Avis for over a span of weeks before I got to talk to someone about it. I was hung up on multiple times.. Got the run around.. One of the employees at Avis even gave me attitude about THEIR MISTAKE! But after about 3 months someone got the title.. IT WAS ME! Avis put my name on the title and sent the title to me.. Now I have to take my own money to get the title transferred to that credit union and sent it to them myself. I simply don’t want to work with Avis anymore so I’ll do it myself. Of course, a car dealership is going to lose interest in you after you purchase a car from them. But Avis is ridiculous! Here I am almost 6 months after I bought my car still having to deal with them to try and fix their careless mistakes they keep making. And they DO NOT care! I will NEVER deal with them again! If you can, go buy your car somewhere else and save yourself the headache of having to deal with them!Update: someone from Avis commented under this post saying they took forever for everything because of COVID. If that were true (which I don’t believe.. y’all are just careless after the car sale), how did you guys make the big mistake of sending my title to me with my name on it instead of the people that you guys knew was suppose to get it?Y’all are just careless about what y’all do after y’all make a car sale to someone. I can see that from how long it took me to even get into contact with someone about the various things you guys forgot to or inattentively did. Again, I got hung up on various times... told I was going to get a call back from one of the salesman but never got a response.. and gave the runaround and this was all after I got my car.

The car buying process was quick and easy. We put a over 75% down so we didn’t really have to worry about the financing side of things. When we drove the car off the lot we had both keys and have not had any issues with my rogue. However, I am from out of state and didn’t understand that the dealer supplies the tags and I wasted so much of my time going to the tax office, tracking down the finance guy and researching what I can do about the missing plates. He always seems to be “busy” or “out of the office” and having an “off day” so he doesn’t ever pick up. The one time I actually got through to him he said he would look into my missing license plates and registration but I never heard back. I’ve been calling almost daily for three weeks and leaving messages for his desk to no avail. I’m currently driving around with expired tags from April. It is almost September. 2/10, would not recommend unless you have a lot of money to put down and time to spend tracking down your tags.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY OR ENERGY HERE! This dealership had their Internet Sales Consultant, Christian Spiers, lie to me over the phone. This was multiple times over a couple of days about the availability and price of variety of Ford SUVs on their lot. Cancelled the appointment because I want an HONEST dealership. If you are looking for a dealership that wants to take advantage of you then this is the one. AVOID Christian Spiers is the best advice I can give.They will likely comment on this review saying something along the lines of, the vehicles you were looking at were determined to have a manufacturers safety recall which needed to be repaired prior to being available for sale. Unfortunately they just increased the price of the car and put it back on the lot the next day after being told they nor the manufacturer knew how to fix the recall. They just wanted to sell the car for more money.Update: What a joke. The Avis people that commented on my review didnt even read it. I reached out the responded with, You need to speak with Avis Car Sales or the location you received the vehicle from on this matter. If they had read my email or review they would have found out I didnt buy a car from them. There was no vehicle received or purchased!

I dont know why they only have 3 stars. My car buying process was GREEEAAAT. I went in with my guard up but they made the process so stress free. I had picked two vehicles online...researched the pricing. Avis beat all others pricing everytime. I test drove hassle free...financing was quick. My sales rep was Jeremiah and I purchased a 2018 VW. The whole process took 3 hours whereas other dealerships will have u there aaallll day! Im going back in a few months to get a car for my college age son.

I actually had a great experience. Mike was my sales guy. I’d already gotten a pre approval from my bank, did research and picked the car I wanted. The process was seamless. The prices are lower than blue book value so you really can’t go wrong if you do proper research. Mike was very hospitable, honest and professional. I mean I didn’t have a bad experience like the other reviews say. There was nothing different than the typical car buying experience except I did NOT have to wait all day like other dealerships. The car I purchased was actually a birthday gift for my mom. I know she will be more than thrilled when I present it to her next week. Thanks Mike!!!!!

I bought my Rav4 from Mike and he was great. Id like to give him a 5 star. However, its almost a month and I still havent received the spare key. I called several times and hes always looking for it. I hope he would work on it and get it delivered to me soon. I will write an update if he is making progress in getting the key to me or not. I trust that hed take care of his customers as we would expect. We walked in, looked at the car, and made a decision. We made his sale easy, and hope he would do the same to us.6/30/2020. I called Mike and finally got hold of him yesterday and he said that there would be no spare key for this car, to my surprise. At the end, he promised to make a spare key and would call me back to schedule a time. So far, Mike has not called me back yet. Ill give him another day to see if he is going to make it right. I hope he would keep his promise and Ill update continuously until this issue is resolved. In addition, we still havent received our license plates, but understand that it may take a bit longer time due to the COVID-19.

STAY AWAY!! They are crooks. They claim that all cars have a 170-point inspection. The following are just a few of the problems with the vehicle that they clam would not pass there inspection:1) Tires will have 5/32+ of tread: Its a lie. Two tires had 2/32, the other two, one of which was FLAT, had 4/32 of thread. They REFUSED to honor their policy and change the tires. They only wanted to replace the flat ONE.2) ALL tires will match: When we forced them to replace two tires, instead of just one, they picked cheaper lower-rated tires. Thus, they do not match. They should have replaced all four, per their policy.3) Alignment would be correct: Lie. The alignment was off and they REFUSED to fix it.4) Filters would be clean, replaced if dirty: Lie. Filters were dirty and they REUSED to replace them.5) No stains on the upholstery: There were a few, and they did not clean it at all.They agreed to removed scratches all over the car--in writing--and they did no such thing. They said they would buff the car to fix paint chips; they didnt do that either. They should be sued for breach of contract and false advertising!These cars are poorly maintained, and have 2 to 3 times the average number of miles for a year old vehicle. The staff is pompous, arrogant, and all too willing to argue with you instead of fixing any problems. A $3 bill has more credibility than they do. Dont even think about coming here, unless you want to be scammed.

Worst car buying experience I’ve ever had. I purchased a Truck from this location and traded one in about a month ago and they still have not paid the bank for my trade in! Every single time I call into their finance department they give me the run around and promise to get back to me but never do! This dealer has paid reviewers who take money to give 5 stars just be careful when you read 5 star rated experiences!!Though they have low prices on car sales but their customer service just sucks!There is absolutely no care for customers nine what so ever.We purchased vehicle from these buggers in Jan and by the end of May we have not received our license plate, manuals and the second key.Everytime we call the sales center the rude staff will tell you to call back as their finance manager is extremely busy making another deal (read: trapping another innocent customer).Yes could save few hundreds, may be a thousand, but then you have to go through the struggle of getting anything from them after taking delivery of the vehicle.WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DEALER!

Scammers. They Lie. We bought a car and the test drive was only allowed for a couple of miles. The freeway was loud and we didnt hear a noise coming from the front until after we pulled into our neighborhood. I took the car back and off course the policy is you bought it, your problem. It turns out the front shock is leaking. Fortunately, its under factory warranty still. The point is that they obviously skipped the inspection by their so called mechanics. Buying it was a nightmare as well. The sales woman told us that we could negotiate the price with the finance manager. Instead, the finance manager became angry that we wanted to negotiate. I told him that either the sales woman or he was lying to us about negotiating. I recommend that you find a car elsewhere. The days of dishonest used car sales people need to end.

As far as price go, they have good prices. However, make sure you get everything in writing. When I purchased my car, I was told that my car manual and extra key would be received in the mail within 4-6 weeks. Its now 3 month since I purchased my vehicle and I have not received my car manual or extra key. I called Avis and they are now telling me that if I didnt receive a car manual on the day I drove it off the lot, then I would not receive one at all.The person who makes the extra keys was furloughed due to COVID (understandable) and therefore I would not be receiving an extra key either. Great (scarcasm)! Yes, I could manage without an extra key...yes, I could print a manual from the car manufacturers website but its a total inconvenience plus more money out my pocket.This is poor customer service on their part. Im more frustrated with their lack of communication on these issues. If you are thinking of buying a vehicle from Avis, please re-consider unless you dont mind being lied to.

We are so frustrated with their service. We bought a vehicle 5 months ago. We are told that theythey are taking care of the vehicle registration. They gave us a temporary licence plate and told that we will get a permanent plate in next 4-6 weeks. We didnt receive anything during that period and we kept calling. Then we are told to come a get a new temporary plate when the previous one expire in two months. So far we are still driving our vehicle with a temporary license plate. Its been 5 months, they still dont reply with a clear answer. Whether they have registered our vehicle or not.Today we called again, no clear answer. We are fed up now and making a written complain to DMV.

Horrible customer service5 month update: They still havent mailed us a 2nd key for the car, or even our permanent license plate. We keep having to contact them to obtain the temporary license plates, and they keep ignoring our requests. They say the permanent plate arrives within 4-6 weeks. Almost been half a year since our purchase. Dont bother calling them because unless youre buying a new car, they will be rude and will try to ignore you by putting you off by saying they are busy right now and to call back later. I normally dont write reviews, but their customer service is just THAT bad, that future buyers should be notified.

First of all, I was in desperate need of a vehicle because I drive 80 miles a day to and from work. I’m not experienced in car buying so I should’ve have my husband with me because I was completely lied to. The car I bought had 27000 miles on it. The salesman and finance manager told me that my car still had a manufacture warranty for 36000 miles or 3 yrs AFTER I purchase the vehicle. I just found out from Mitsubishi that they lied. Actually I would only have 9000 mile warranty since my car had 27000 miles on it. When I test drove the car the tire pressure was low. I told the salesman and he said he’d take care of it. 2 days after the signed deal my both back ties were low. Avis told me to take it to Firestone where their account is. They PLUGGED both tires. Now I’m at the Mitsubishi dealership for routine maintenance which shouldn’t be needed for a year but here I am. Then 5 minutes ago I was told by the technician that this car had been wrecked and has evidence of front end damage and that my A/C needs repairs. And before all of this 2 weeks after the purchase I had to go in and they revised my documents so now I’m at Mitsubishi waiting to go over both sets of documents to see what was changed. PLEASE BE CAREFUL BUYING FROM THE AVIS KATY TX LOT. I’m calling my finance company today to report this and my next call will be to report it to the state.

This place was absolutely amazing, when our saleswoman said she was talking to the general manager I got nervous because usually GM’s are very stern in past experiences, this GM was beyond amazing he was super nice, friendly, and helpful. He took the time to get my friend who was buying the vehicle approved he personally called banks to help her which blew me away. Each and every salesmen, finance person, and manager was beyond helpful nice and catering. 10/10 when I start looking for a new vehicle myself I will go here. The customer service is completely unbeatable and there’s no hassle or unanswered questions or the irritation of dealing with the typical salesperson. Perfectly calm and laid back.

Came here because my husband found a vehicle listed online that was listed at a decent price. Was helped by Xavier and the sales manager (can’t remember his name) and it was the best experience ever. They were not at all pushy. The cars on the lot were all in great condition. I found the car that I been wanting to purchase and it took almost no time to get. Great customer service!

Bought a Car from Avis. Cars are nice. Yes, you can negotiate the price. Yes, you can not pay the fees. The sales people do the deal and pass you to the business people. The business people dont have a clue. They miss scheduled signing meetings, promise answers and shipments, and very rarely delivery what they said. From the day I picked up the car until I had my cashiers check cashed was ~ 8 business days. All waiting for them to set up the meeting. From then it was another 3 weeks before I received the title and second ignition key in the Overnight UPS package. I finally had to call the sales person to wake up Candice in the business department. Hope you dont get her. Must be a blonde (Joke). Service is terrible. Sales is a bit slow. Watch out when you pick up the car from a local rental office for a test drive. They run your credit card for $ 169.00

My daughter and I decided to visit a few dealerships today to shop for a car. We went out around 9 AM and this was our last stop because we needed to be home before 12PM. We parked, went around the lot and looked at their cars. Mr. Xavier came out and was very pleasant and informed us about what he had on his lot. I would give him a 5 star for being nice. The reason for this 1 star or should be a negative 5 star was that elderly man with gray hair with a gray mustache who came out afterwards. At first he was asking what it is that car we were looking for and was with a bit pushier than Mr. Xavier. He was also trying to get us to go inside the office. Again, I politely said that we needed to go and we just passed by to look at the cars in the lot. He then became rude and started throwing insults. I stopped myself from confronting him because it would just be a waste of time and that it was not worth it. I would NOT RECOMMEND this place unless of course if you are OKAY dealing with a RUDE salesman like him.

Update: Ok, I have another review on here somewhere (pictured with my son) that Google wouldnt let me update. I still find the process favorable but I have to deduct a star because Ive had the car two weeks and Ive driven under 500 miles yet I need an oil change because its been 3000 miles since the last one. Im kinda on the fence about this because I, at minimum, expect any reputable used car dealership to give a car a fresh oil change before selling it . I feel its a huge oversight on Avis part yet a rather small expense on my part considering I bought used. I do plan to contact corporate anyhow. So be sure to run through all the guages and settings before purchase. I still love my car and think the sales team was great.

IN GEN MGR DAN BAKERS OFFICE, I HAD THE LENDER SEND USAAS FUNDING REQUEST FORM TO DAN AND THEN PAID A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF CASH OUT OF POCKET FOR THE TAX, TITLE, REGISTRATON, ETC. AVIS CAR SALES AT KATY NEVER SENT TO THE TEXAS DEPT OF MOTOR VEHICLES THE APPLICATION FOR TEXAS TITLE AND REGISTRATION AND THE GEN MGR, DAN KEPT SAYING THAT THE DMV WAS BACKED UP...WHEN WE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES....WHEN IN FACT HE KNEW HIS BOOKKEEPER, MEDGER, HAD NEVER SENT IN THE APP FOR REGISTRATION, ALLEGEDLY BECAUSE THE VEHICLES STATE INSPECTION HAD EXPIRED!! I agree with the others the grey haired guy with mustache is very rude and pushy, customer service skills stink. When purchasing the vehicle I had selected, I ask for the car fax on the car, he said that he didnt have access to get one. I was by myself and the medication I am on makes me forget things. I recorded our conversations so I could review with husband when i got home. Questions I asked him, he was not honestly telling me truth. I asked questions about the vehicle and he would come back with some smart ass remark. They really need someone that is going to respect the costumers, and not challenge them.He even talks about his previous sales person, how he stole from the company. If this employee only knew how he slanders him, he could sue for defamation of character, and win. I thought that was totally unprofessional..

HORRIBLE costumer service!!!The actual car buying process was OK, but dont drive out of there with any items pending because as soon as theyve sold you the car, the couldnt care less about you. I have had to call in 3 different times about a spare key that was supposed to arrive later and gotten the same attitude and lack of empathy every single time. Today I called about my temporary driving permit expiring in a few days and was rudely told that I shouldnt bother them before the thing actually expires. The rude lady put a cherry on top of everything by hanging up as soon as I told her I was disappointed with the service they were providing.Buy a car from them if youre sure you like it, but dont expect any effort once you drive out.

My family and I started car shopping today and decided to make a stop here. We knew we needed a large SUV. We met with a salesman here of about 65 years old, heavy, and partially bald who was very rude and pushy from the beginning. He rudely said we couldnt say no to a vehicle if we didnt drive it or even know what we wanted. We quickly decided we didnt want to spend any more time here because of this salesmans attitude, and even though we didnt confront him about his attitude but simply thanked him for his time he literally proceeded to say we had wasted his time. On the bright side we visited a different car sales place and found the vehicle we will be purchasing, all in one day.

Buyer beware! Bad experience! Offered cash, they wanted to push their financing at 14% along with repair plans. After being put off for days past the ultimate drive time that I used to try the car out, there was no cooperation in accepting my funding. I ended up returning the vehicle and paying almost 500 dollars that included rental and late fees.

SCAM LIKELY. I cant prove that this is what they are doing, but there is a scam where dealers will never register your car so that it will get impounded and go back to the dealer. Then the dealer resells that car to someone else. If this isnt what theyre doing, then tell me why they didnt file the paperwork to get me my registration within the first 45 days like theyre supposed to (violation 1). When I went to them to see what the hold up was, they just said theyre on the way, dont worry without even checking anything. Temporary tags expired and I went back and then they supposedly resent the paperwork, and gave me a new set of temporary tags (violation 2) but when I talked to the DMV they twice told me that the dealer had not done any paperwork to get me my tags and registration.It wasnt until I called them and told them that I was going to file a dealer complaint with the state of Texas and have them investigated that suddenly I got my plates the next day. Four months after I bought the car. Four months. I called them numerous times about this and every time they had some fishy excuse that didnt add up. First it was that the paperwork was held up at the tax office, then it was held up at the place that makes the plates (this is what they told me). But again, the DMV told me that there was no record of the dealer doing any paperwork at all. There should have been a record of the paperwork if indeed it was held up at the tax office of the place that makes the plates. Each time they made some excuse and blamed someone else. I really hate these people. They were also super rude to me and hung up on me several times when I called to see where my tags were. How dare I, right? How dare I want them to do their jobs. Theyre lazy and shady and you should not give them any business.By the way I did file the dealer complaint and they are going to get investigated and lose their license. They deserve it.

I tell her I only want answers to my email and she says she isnt the web site and couldnt be bothered to read or answer my questions.
