This used to be my favorite Starbucks to visit back when I worked at the waterfront but I prefer not to come here as they can be rude sometimes... Lots of kids working here and working at Starbucks can be very stressful especially during peak hours and the residents who live and work nearby can be a little nasty towards the workers so I try to understand that I wont be met with the best customer service. However, my past experiences here have been very disappointing. Cashier would always just ask what do you want then the baristas would proceed to make drinks not in order. Everyone after me got their drinks before me and when I attempted to ask about my order I was just ignored. My drink was just a simple hot PSL, nothing crazy. This was not even a busy day. Next time after this, my bf had ordered me the same drink and his experience was similar to mine-- rude workers and delayed drinks. On top of that, my drink was half empty as they made the drink half foam half Latte and claimed thats how lattes are made!
This particular Starbucks is my absolute favorite for more than the incredible view of the NY skyline, and for more than the privilege of sipping a Chestnut 🌰 Praline Latte right on the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway: its for the incredibly helpful, friendly and damn good baristas that can make me that Chestnut 🌰 Praline Latte with English Breakfast Tea!
The staff were very pleasant, but unfortunately it was very unorganized. Food and drinks came out one at a time. Coffee cold because waiting for food. Good atmosphere. Outside seating is pleasant.
I love this place - staff is professional and helpful
Generally they are good but recently I ordered a very berry hibiscus and the server gave me the drinks without the berries and was not even apologetic about me.. plus she had the audacity to tell me the berries are just for color.. like saying cream in coffee is just for color..
Quick service and plenty of seating however this is yet another branch where they closed the restrooms!
Roger makes an amazing salted caramel cold brew
You’re experience will depend on your barista. They are generally good but YMMV.
This Starbucks was a nice respite from the heat. It has plenty of seating inside and out with a view of New York City!
Nice Starbucks location in kinda hidden place not much people in know about. Therefore there are usually no lines here.It really feels good to get in here during your walk on the waterfront and grab some coffee you love.Friendly and helpful staff, good barista, and convenient location. The only thing there is almost always some construction work outside that partially hides the place.
They were so kind to my siblings even though their trouble makers. The baristas there are all lgbtq friendly and got my order done quickly.
Closed at least 20 minutes earlier than posted hours and associate inside wouldnt even pick up the phone. Wasted time driving here. Whats the point of having hours?
To be honest I have very inconsistent experience with this store. Quality and quantity both are non-standard.i gave feedback to customer feedback service and in turn District manager reached out to me and very nice to talk and giving me assurance to improve services but nothing has changedDM did issue $20 reward but it is not I was looking I was looking for a better product.
Service was super slow and my drink was loaded w syrup.
I LOVE THE PLACE, STARBUCKS TO ME IS WONDERFUL YOU HAVE GREAT POTENTIAL TO CHANGE THE WORLD ITS A PLACE OF BUSINESS TO CREATE A WONDERFUL AND POWERFUL BUSINESS ON YOUR OWN GREAT FOOD GREAT DRINKS GOOGLESTARBUCKS WIFI IS WONDERFUL OUTLETS REST ROOM AND THE EMPLOYEES ARE WONDERFUL TO ME AND MY GUESS SO YEAH I GIVE IT FIVE STARS ☆☆☆☆☆ I LOVE YOU STARBUCKS
Nitro Cold Brew with Sweet cream, rock!
I love this location! Has a view of nyc. Great for a date! I enjoyed the Matcha tea!
Nice place, always good service, located next to the Hudson River with a great view to New York.
Great location for this Starbucks and nice folks who work there, but Ive found their drink quality to be all over the place. Have had days where everything is fine and other times where a basic no frills latte doesnt even come out right (too watery, too bitter, etc.). Not sure why consistency is an issue here.
They made us wait so long and the last drink the forgot about and made us wait longer and then they messed it up twice and i got tried of waiting so i just had to leave with that drink. Also the manager also had an attitude when we talked with her politely.
The barista and supervisor were great, and corrected my drinks. This review is mainly with regards to the cashier, who got both of my orders wrong and the gentleman behind mes orders wrong...He couldt find the drink I ordered in the system, and instead of confirming with me just charged the price of a more complex drink. Good thing the barista confirmed with me, and I was able to get the difference refunded. I also ordered an unsweetened matcha latte, and confirmed with the cashier in advance whether or not it can be unsweetened. He said yes without hesitation, so I ordered it, only to find out when I got home that it was the sweetened variety :(((I really hope these were honest mistakes.. but 3 times? It really seemed like he didnt particularly care and would rather take shortcuts on the job...
A good place for an early coffee, but not really inviting! Corona is a disease, but shouldn’t be an excuse for bad style!Look at other individual places- they don’t have the money, but they survive with good concepts!
Totally agree with the rude staff behavior here. I experienced the same constantly in the last few months. However, seems like they have new staff now who were really pleasant to talk to. Hence the 4 stars!Edited: Changed to 3 stars
Like this Starbucks location. Never had a problem with my online order here. People are nice
It shows that is open till 10 pm, but actually closes at9 pm
Waited too long for a Frappuccino
Well that was super unpleasant... Ive never left a Starbucks feeling like the employees hated me so much before. When I tried to ask if a drink placed out of sight was the last piece of my pickup order so I could leave the crowded store, I was snapped at to wait. When I did get my drink a few minutes later, I said could I please have a straw? since the sign said to ask for straws... I was snapped at again Im getting it now! I was seriously just trying to follow instructions.Meanwhile, some other employee came in to complain about something loudly at the register and a woman I assume is the manager joined in at which point they moved within two feet of me to continue complaining.I am sorry that things are so stressful right now and I feel so much for the employees there but I was trying to be polite in a chaotic situation and left wanting to cry.The coffee was fine though so three stars I guess....
Very neat and clean. Well managed and organized in COVID situation.
Awesome baristas. Love coming here! Yes, sometimes I wait. It’s ok. Thank you for keeping us safe with your masks and always killing it w my drink!
Awesome service every time. It’s the only one in the area which is good in everything. shout out to the staff for always making sure I leave happier than anytime I walk into this Starbucks. Super impressed with this Starbucks compared to the other millions I’ve been to in the city.
Great spot by the pier, great staff!
I love this place, its my daily. It gets cramped occasionally by virtue of where it is (its one of a couple of stores catering to the employees of large offices in the vicinity and Newport residents), but other than that, its awesome. The staff is full of great people and its relatively clean. The only thing Id recommend is installing more power outlets because it becomes a struggle to find one when its crowded (unsurprisingly, people end up sitting where there are power outlets).
Very clean. Staff are friendly. The Frappuccino is always topnotch.
Coffee at waterfront! With World Trade Center in front. Just an amazing location. Waterfront also have a small park with many chairs and benches so that one can spend their time with coffee, water, birds, and WTC views. There isn’t much space inside the start bucks however, staff is very friendly and helpful.
Worst experience ever. We had 3 different drinks and we waited for 30mins as the staff missed our order. Once we got our drinks, none of them tasted good and we had to throw them.
Terrible service! Today one of the employees was very rude and inefficient. I have been in this place before and it had not been so bad, however today was lousy. On top of everything else the counter was very dirty, despite not having a long line of customers. I understand that the current situation is difficult for everyone but that is no excuse for being rude.
Ricidulously bad customer service. Ordered a sandwich on their app and went to pickup 20 minutes after ordering. After waiting for 10 more minutes in the store, I was told that the sandwich has in fact been sold out. Why did they need 30 minutes to figure this out?
Great service, friendly employees, good price.
A guy named Joel needs to go. He was rude to a customer because they lost her receipt. He also made the wrong order for me in my last visit. On top of that, this Starbucks is very slow at preparing a drink.
Workers too busy chatting with each other, working and moving very slow with no energy + Small crew working while alot of customers were waiting for their orders. I ordered online and on my app it said the order is ready, but it took them another 10 minutes to get my order.
Loved this location, nice views of nyc, good coffee and great staff.
Amazing place. Outdoor sitting with great views
The staff there is the WORST Ive ever seen in my life. They are lying, irritating, condescending and should be shameful for what they did. I would suggest people to stop going there. I asked a staff member whether she has seen/made my sandwich after waiting for 10 minutes. This is a common question for a coffee shop. All she needed to answer was Yes, its right there, or No, your sandwich is still in line. Please keep waiting. And there is a screen just in front of her with all order information. However, she doesnt even want to take 3 seconds to look at the screen, but jumped and yelled at me I dont know! I was totally perplexed at what she did and tried to explain to her that all I wanted to know is if its ready. Its a simple question. I wanted to explain to her and calm her down. But she seems to have some difficulties in communicating with customers and doesnt understand my explanation, and then even threatened me that I am disruptive and that she would call the police. What a joke! Complete nonsense. There should be more training and the staff should listen to customers when we talk peacefully instead of call the police this and call the police that, which can be very irritating and escalating. I left the store without further talking to her because I didnt want to make a scene but that doesnt mean what she did to her customer was right. I understand that she is a proud young fella but she must also understand that no one deserves her attitude and threat, especially her customer.
Its one of my favorite spots to go and have a good cup of coffee. Staff are friendly place is clean
Fresh coffee. Fantastic View. Friendly Staff. The staff is great and, once they know you, they always greet you by your name. SHOUT OUT TO Marcus (one of the baristas). An outstanding place to start your day!
Its a nice coffee spot. The location is stupendous - take a cup of coffee and walk the famous boardwalk of Newport. You will also find many young Turks head deep in their laptops, honing their skills or working away on their ventures.
Stopped in during my lunch break (after a stressful morning at the office), Marcus the cashier welcomed myself and my colleague with an truly warm and personalized greeting. Marcus was very happy, smiling, and just had an overall amazing energy. He wrote my name on the cup correctly (no one ever gets it right), and even added a nice little smiley face next to it. Marcus is a great addition to your team!
By far the best experience I’ve had to do date in a Starbucks is at this location. The staff is warm and friendly and very helpful. Place is always organized and usually busy too. They occasionally put out sample items of drinks and food, and through this I have found some appreciation and new love with seasonal drinks.
Nice little SB by the water in Jersey City at the Newport PATH station. Clean, relaxed and youthful coffeehouse vibe. No issues.
The bathroom was so horrible and there was only a thin stream of very hot water running in the tap.The wait hour on a Sat night was way tooooo long.On top of everything else, the coffee I ordered tasted so watery. They offered to make me another one but that just took forever. Not well managed in any way.
Very friendly staff. Too bad there isnt any parking available. I will visit this location every time I am in town.
Ordered online but when I got to the location to drink wasnt ready. Unfortunately they must have some sort of inventory issue because they dont know what products are in stock. You would think when you place the order and pay for it its going to be there ready for you to pick it up but sometimes they run out of certain ingredients this is happened to me quite a few times before. So you have to wait for them to hand craft a product for you. Luckily the person that made my drink tonight was extremely knowledgeable and it came out very very nice. Its usually not as busy as the mall location so I prefer this one over that and also over the one at Exchange Place which claims they dont have a bathroom when in fact they do. As far as I know this one still has a public restroom and a fairly decent View.
Great location directly on the Hudson with magnificent views of both the NY and JC skylines. The Marina is near by also and on nice days there are plenty of vessels on the water joined by flocks of ducks and geese.
Awful service. Went there around 9.30am and they didnt have the Pumpkin Spice Latte even in the morning which was disappointing. There is a note at the counter that tells customers that they will be closing shop so I guess no one cares about service or providing good coffee.
Burnt coffee and super sugary drinks.
For cold months it is little bit cool to work. But you can close your eyes to all lose points because of downtown manhattan view))
Me and my wife regularly visit this shop. Awesome location. The people working are nice. Service is fairly good as far as our experience goes. It accepts payments using starbucks app. You can redeem any rewards you have on the app. It has outdoor sitting area which is very good.
Great classic SB breakfast with amazing view
Great Starbucks location. The staff are friendly and fun, the food and drink are exactly what you expect from Starbucks, and the view from the patio is breathtaking. If youre in the Newport Centre area and need a Starbucks fix, do yourself a favor; skip the in-mall location and take the five minute walk here. Its the same food and drink, but everything else is worlds nicer.
THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY HOLIDAYS BRIGHT 😊! ☃️🍁🌲❄️
Love my local Newport, JC Starbucks! Spilled my coffee and the friendly baristas replaced it free of charge. Thanks #jerseycitynewportwaterfrontstarbucks! (Store #7383 I think...)
Me not like dis
Great staff but there is always over an 15 minute wait for drinks even with a full staff. One day I was there for 30 minutes waiting for my drink. The place is always pack. Expect a long wait at this location.
Great view outside, good coffee
A year and a half ago, November 2016, one of your coworkers was rude to me. As a former customer, I should of came back and informed the manager about the incident after learning from the shift supervisor at the time. I dont know if she still works there, Sayla, but shame on her. If anyone who works there knows her, let her know. No respect for her at all. Also, I did not like the fact, that on a few occasions, I had to wait almost a minute for one of your employees to take my order when there were no customers in line. They just look at me and continued doing what they were doing.I know you expect positive reviews, but I have to be real here. Im sorry, but if someone did not have a great experience that day, then everyone has a right to know.Three stars because even though the coffees rule, and I miss drinking them, the employees need to show more respect to the customers. That is where the problem lies.
This place is awful. I had to wait 20 minutes for my coffee and then another 5 minutes for the rest of my order. Dont bother.
Ive been going here for several years. Theyve improved and renovated the store. The barristas are also awesome.
Really nice views! Go during the summer, get a coffee, and sit outside by the water. Super peaceful and quiet.
Amazing view over Manhattan. Friendly service.
Have a great day everyone!
The baristas are happy to serve their customers. They always have a smiling face and make some amazing drinks. During evenings this place is a bit crowded but has ample of space outside to sip your drink with an amazing NYC skyline view. This is my to go place in jersey city.
In love with the Smoked Butterscotch Latte and it is a very fast service compared to other Starbucks!
Great place...but... WHEN EMPLOYEE WASH THEM WINDOWS? JUST MAKE IT CLEAN! It it spoils everything. :(
I always have a good experience at this location. Its always clean and the employees are very friendly.
Good view of NYC skyline. Friendly staff. Knocked off a star for lack of power outlets by the window seats.
Great customer service, great location in Jersey City, a place that treats you like a friend and family.
One of the best Starbucks with a spectacular view of the downtown. Must visit place in Jersey City
This is a very small and crowded space- the staff were running around almost barreling into customers with drinks in their hands without so much as an apology. The manager had a very brusque attitude towards simple questions which was unexpected from a place where they sell $5 coffee. And this is to date the only franchise Ive visited with no mugs for enjoying a drink on location. The only reason Im giving 2 stars is because the view was incredible. The build location was probably the last good decision this Starbucks has made.
The slowest service ever. No one cares to work efficiently. Human Resources should do much better job!
Amazing place with professional staff
I like Starbucks coffee. But for me when I say Bagel with cream cheese, expect to have cheese spread on Bagel and not get it in a separate thing. For the reason I prefer DD. For taste of Coffee it is Starbucks.
This is my least liked Starbucks in all that Ive been to. The milk/sugar stations always dirty, and they never get an order right. Every time I got something other than what I ordered. But its in convinient distance to the apartment buildings around.
Coffee with a view like no other. I love this starbucks!
Great Starbucks! Ive been going there since 2008/2009 and they never fail me. All the staff is very friendly and always more than willing to make your drink again if it doesnt meet your expectations. What more can you ask for?!?!
Great Starbucks. I love the seating, there is usually not much of a wait, and the drinks are well-made.
Cant believe this Starbucks (which is well run and managed) is only a few hundred feet away from THE WORST Starbucks in the world at the Newport Mall. Lovely staff here. They care about their job and are professional and quick. Marcus is the nicest, happiest guy in the world.
