Edit: Owner and employee working in store were awesome. Was able to get the truck I needed with zero issues. The call center was the problem.Was trying to rent a truck for a multi day move. Employee kept asking for credit card over the phone, once I said I wouldnt give it they hung up. Ill just go with a different location. 0 stars if possible

I went into the store and the guys in there were rude and unhelpful and confrontational. I went in looking for a 10x10 without climate control and the guy didnt want to talk to me about what i wanted he was only concerned with selling a climate controlled more expensive unit. He kept saying they didnt have any open units, to the point that i walked out and walked back in, because i knew they had units because the website showed. He had lied and said they did. But then he refused to look up any information on what units they had available unless i made a reservation. How can i make a reservation if i havent picked anything yet and am just gathering information?? He talked down to me suggesting that i was looking at the wrong location online. He kept saying he had the units then didnt have the units. Said not a single common courtesy. Shouted next while i was still practically at the desk. Then when i complained to his colleague, instead of apologizing for the poor customer service, he backed the guy up. I was desperately looking for information on available units due to issues with logistics, and these guys has available units that i had been looking for, but they refused to discuss them with me and instead tried to convince me not to spend my money there with their lying and rude behavior. Go to Cube Smart. They are cheaper simpler and significantly better in customer service.

He hung up the phone three times when we were trying to call customer service! We had to drive there to ask him a question about possibly dropping off our trailer at their location. All he said was no, you have to drop off at the location on state route 13 near St Augustine. We told him that we understood that the paperwork stated that and that the u-haul rep in Kansas told us it may be possible to drop off at a different location in the area. Your customer service guy said that the rep was lying!!!! No hi, no goodbye! He is a terrible reputation for your u-haul store

Not an isolated event. I have rented box trucks here on multiple occasions using the mobile check in and every single time, I end up having to go inside (after waiting for the mobile approval - which never comes) and then wait again in line with everyone else. Each employee has an attitude of Id rather be ANYWHERE.......but here attitude. No empathy, no care for customers who have been waiting unreasonable amounts of time to rent products, or use of their services. My 4 hours rental I was charged for was required to be returned in 3 hours regardless of the fact that it was their broken back office processes which cause the delays. Again, not an isolated incident.....3 separate times separated by months. Same terrible service, same terrible results.Do yourself a huge favor, rent at Home Depot if you can. Great people, simple process and MUCH more affordable!!!!

The people here are awesome. I rented a truck for a day to help a family member move and left my headphones in the truck. I came back 5 days later and they were holding them for me. Awesome people

If you value your time, go to another location. I have nothing against U-Haul, but this location is so busy with not enough front staff. I waited in line with three other people while no one was in the office because they were outside attending to other customers renting and returning. The lady behind me worried she was going to get charged a late fee because no one was there to help her in time. It would be nice if someone always stayed in the office, or if there was a self checkout for those who just want to buy supplies.

Very Bad experience from here. They gave a van with a blade on Rear tire. Even after telling associates that the low tire indicator is on they didn’t have courtesy to check it. When we found issue we went back after 20 mins, they told us to call roadside assistance. Now we are stuck with a flat tire in middle of a move.

Not been to uhaul in a long time, would definitely recommend booking a vehicle in advance as they go quick. Had no problems at all and was even a brand new vehicle! Getting the vehicle and returning it was super fast.

Reserved cargo van at another location, but could not get key(as it was lost). Customer care changed reservation to this location and this guy says I cant get van on Foreign license. Previous store can give me, but this store cannot. Just waste of time to get a simple rental.

Ive rented from many U-Hauls and I always leave happy with the service, except from this location. I reserved a car hauler online from this location, received confirmation to pick up and when I showed up there was no car hauler available. Exact words from the lady behind the desk I didnt check my online confirmations correctly....ok fair enough....I was headed to GA to bring a car back home to FL so I reserved one on the road from a GA U-Haul and brought the car home. Brought the car hauler back to this location to return it and the guy helping me was nothing short of a rude ***hole almost to the point to where I was ready to get out of my car and show my ***. Long story short, avoid this location like the plague.

Went in to rent a car transport. I rent these routinely from a different location with put hassle. Was told 3 times that it had to be back that night or would face hefty fine. 3 TIMES. I told him it was not an issue. Then the issue became that I only have 1 contact number. Enough, I left.drove the extra15 mile to my normal uhaul and was in and out in 10 minutes. Customer service at this location is HORRIBLE. Dont give these guys a dime.

Charge me for blanket rental which we clearly did not use nor ask for. Called to ask about this charge and was rushed off the phone. Also e-mailed the GM and they never responded. Very poor customer service!

I when to get a propane refill I was waiting for 30 minutes jut to get in the register and the fat guy in front told that he can’t do it cuz it was over 100 pounds this place need better service

Spike was super kind and helpful and the only reason Im not giving it five stars is because the owner was extremely rude and off putting. He was also off putting to another female customer that I witnessed. Really a sad how the owner is bringing down the friendly customer atmosphere

I have used uhaul alot for business and personal dealings, but today after probably 20 times using them I am letting go from this horrible company. They didnt rent me a vehicle because I only have one phone. If you do not have a second phone you cannot rent here. Penske is way better with customer service, so long uhaul.

Both Kandy and Bernard were both very sweet and helpful as well as very down to Earth. Very easy and helpful renting experience, will be back in a few weeks.

If you rent on a Saturday come early as these guys get really busy. Rented a ten foot truck which was basically brand new. Service is prompt and efficient. They make it easy to do business with them. Additionally, they sell just about any type of moving supplies you might need for your job.

They were great to work with. They were able to schedule the appointment for my schedule. They got the job done quickly and efficiently. Everyone was friendly, polite, and professional. Charge was also quite reasonable.

These guys are awesome. I use them every couple of weeks and they never disappoint. Great family run business. I occasionally have to deal with other Uhaul dealers and they make me appreciate the Mandarin location.

I really like U-Haul but don’t be fooled by their $19 vehicle rental price. I rented a van for 2 hours / 20 miles / and was charged $40.They charge renters insurance which is understandable however, U-Haul should be more upfront and advertise vehicles at $40 so people know what to expect.

I moved furniture working my way through college several summers. So I am picky about supplies and this location had everything I needed to pack up and move out of my home. Moving is stressful, moving because you lost your wife to early in life is horrible. But coming here lightened my mood as everyone here is cheerful and always kidding with each other. Also they refunded me for unused expensive special use boxes. Andy (hope that correct) searched through several purchases, which was no small task, found purchases and refunded my money. Truck rental was quick and painless on pickup and return. Thanks for great service.

Affordable equipment, super helpful staff. Ive dealt with almost all of their employees in my 12 months of using them. Everyone is helpful and quick. Best to reserve the night before.

I was just there on 7/30/20 pulled up to the propane pump got my tanks out of the car and spent the next 10 min watching the two employees in the garage look out at me and keep on gabbing with each other. If they were on lunch or break they still should see what the customer needs oh well I will spend my money elsewhere

Slowest service imaginable. Waited in line for over half an hour WITH an appointment. Not the workers fault, just understaffed.

Very disappointed with all the positive comments. Called and made an appointment, all good there. The day of, 2.5 hrs before my appointment they call to tell me the guy who performs that service doesnt even work that late...ever. It was also too late to plug us in. Sorry you lost a loyal customer and huge referral source.

Typical uhaul. Ive never had any problems here.Update due to new occurrence:I arrived to pick up a trailer. They told me that a trailer different than the one I expected had been reserved. They did not have what I needed at that time. I was irate due to the U Haul system error and regrettably took it out on this service rep. Regardless, he helped me call another location who had what I needed and then cancelled the incorrect reservation. I left without apologizing and thanking him. My hats off to someone who goes out of their way to help an irate customer when it was no fault of the reps.

Expensive. One van from Mandarin to Oceanway. & back $16 in gas and the charge was over $70!

The storage facility is nice but after only a month they considerable increased the monthly rate. I expressed my concern that they would have a rate increase after only a month and they could care a less about my concerns, so I moved my stuff to Atlantic Storage down the street. A very poor way to do business in my opinion.

Entire staff was tentative, effective, and polite. Fixed error caused by mngr. of Philips Hwy. local without complaint or attitude. Ive found my future local.

Fraud Alert - they are writing contracts with lower mileage vs. actual mileage in vehicle. I caught it, refused the vehicle.. I then told a random person in their parking lot about it as I was leaving. She said oh yeah, they nailed me over 100 miles because she forgot to check the odometer closely at contract write up. Coincidence? I doubt it. At 59 cents a mile - theyre ripping people off a lot! Beware!

Used this place multiple times, always a great experience. Felt prices were always fair too. Its a true uhaul, not uhaul side business. They do have a ton of trucks, trailers, and moving stuff. No complaints.

This is the WORST experience Ive ever had using Uhaul and my first time renting from this location. The robust gentleman with the scraggly facial hair was extremely rude when we realized the truck he rented me didnt have a ramp. Rather than switch my truck for a different one, he insisted that I purchase a trailer for rent in addition to the truck I rented. Overall, this cost me $100 more than I had originally expected. Most of the staff was courteous and helpful. The guy that helped me was rude, unhelpful and downright condescending. I will take my business elsewhere from this point forward.

Horrible. Bernard Bradley has the worst customer service skills. His solution for me was to cancel my reservation instead of deal with my issue in the store and told me to call the corporate customer service to complain if I had a problem with him, his attitude or his proposed solution. Totally defiant not my problem type of guy who decided to hide behind corporate instead of trying to do right by the customer. Avoid him and this location.

Staff never has an idea of why things happen. The answer is always “I don’t know, that’s Corporate”. Even gave me that answer when I got a letter in the mail saying my bill was going up $10/month because the lights at the facility were being upgraded. I’m still waiting on someone (store or corporate) to call me.Paying can be a hassle at times too. The online system will give me errors on a regular basis and the response I got from the staff was “oh yeah it does that”. So now having to pay at the physical location, where the computers are down half the time. Grace period is 5 days to make your payment, they lock your unit after 4 days... just FYI.If anyone from uhaul would like to try to resolve my issues, I will be the gentleman in on the 10th to pay my bill bringing up these same issues while you reboot your cpu. Good day

Returned a one way trailer rental after hours on Sunday so they charged me an extra day... Either a mistake was made on the part of this store OR the store I rented from gave me bad information, I was told anytime Sunday dropoffs were fine. I rented it from a small town store in the Florida panhandle thats closed on Sundays so the anytime Sunday rule may have just applied to them. Just glad I didnt rent a big truck, an extra day on it would have had me irate. Ive had really good luck and experiences with uhaul in the past, but this was one of my all around less favorable experiences.

Rented 26 Truck here and selected west Jax return. Their automated email had me return here. Customer service could care less. Talked to owner he stated Sorry but that is how it goes. Made my return a nightmare of travel, expense and logistics. Running on 2hours sleep now. Thanks!

The gentlemen helping was Bradley JR. The location where i picked up the truck from made a mistake and i was overcharge. When i explained the situation he never questioned my integrity and refunded me the money. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

Just rented storage from here, very nice, loading dock to help also. Google Maps says its permanently closed as of july 7th 2011 its still open not sure what Google is thinking, goes to show nothings perfect

We reserved a truck for 9am in Jacksonville. When we arrived the confirmation number we recieved from a worker was wrong and our truck was located in Ocala, an hour away form our current location. Also set for 2pm. This has happened 2 times in the past. We ended up going to another location on Sunbeam where they told us they would have another truck ready to drive. When we arrived that location was closed. After driving all over jacksonville we ended up not reciving a truck. Very untrustworthy, unorganized buisness.

I had a hitch installed and shortly after a back blinker light went haywire, I am not really sure if the two were related but the team at san jose u-haul came to my rescue, they spent over 2 hours disgnosing and fixing my issue. This is a top class team that cares about the clients, i would recomend the san jose location for all u-haul needs!

The employees at this U-haul location on San Jose Blvd in Mandarin has the worst attitude of any I have ever dealt with. We absolutely will never go there again. On the other hand I previously had reason to meet with Rennard at the Hartley Rd location and he was a pleasure to work with. These two locations arent but 5 minutes apart! smh

Ive been here three times and although the staff are helpful, they are always understaffed. When I was in the other day we got there when they opened and were 4th in line but waited for 45 minutes before being served.

These people are thieves I took my belongings out in November of 2014 and every month they have charged me $150 for storage it is now may 2015 and they refuse to give me my money back! I just called them and they are still refuseing me my money thier words are disreguard the notices but when I asked about my money they hung up in my face! DO NOT REBT FROM THEM THEY WILL CONTINUE TO CHARGE YOU EVEN AFTER YOU NO LONGER HAVE A SERVICE WITH THEM

Stay away! I rented a unit here and they never sent a bill. Then they charge you late fees when they dont receive the payment they never billed for and hold your belongings hostage. These people are thieves, take your business elsewhere.
