I bought a 2002 Toyota Corolla recently and wanted to get it inspected to make sure everything was good to go. I knew it needed some oil and wanted to have the fluids checked along with a general inspection of the car. I prefer to visit smaller shops, so I did some digging and found Matts place on Google with good reviews. I left the car with him for a while, and he gave me a call saying everything was in good shape and that it just needed an oil change and some new tires. I told him to go ahead and change the oil. On the way to pick it up, I was expecting to pay for an inspection and oil change, but he charged me $33 and said he usually checks cars when hes changing the oil anyway. I was very happy with the way he handled business with me, and I will definitely be back if I need service in the future. Keep in mind, he is very busy. You may have to wait for the right time to bring your car in, but its worth it to deal with an honest, quality mechanic.

Mr Matt is awesome! Hes a good, down to earth guy with reasonable prices, and quality work that doesnt take forever to complete.. He is definitely my new go to mechanic. He even suggested places for me to get an alignment at reasonable prices. Im so appreciative of him and his services.

Thought I had a locked up engine so I brought my car to Matts, it was just a busted starter and he was really nice, I even got an oil change for a really great price. Im definitely going back to him, Im glad I found a mechanic that doesnt try to weasel money out of me. Thank you Matt! 😊

I took a considerable amount of his time with questions and he explained everything clearly and carefully. And his price was fair. I think the customer service at Automatt is good, because Mr. Street sincerely respects people.I highly recommend Automatts Auto Service & Repair and will return there myself if my car needs repairs.

I highly recommend this place! Matt was professional and kept to his word. He said he may get it done the day I dropped it off but it would probably be done the next day and sure enough he got it done the next day. I appreciate honesty. I had a break line leak in a metal line and he was able to fix my Ford Explorer even though Ford no longer sells that part. He also caught that my caliper on one of my breaks was missing a bolt and he found a screw to fix that for me as well. You won’t regret going here.

My A/C went out in the heat of the summer and I was needing to get it fixed. I was only in Jacksonville for a week and I had to get it done. I came across AutoMatt’s and sure glad I did! He was able to provide me a quote over the phone as I already had the issue diagnosed. I went in the following day first thing in the morning and he had the A/C blowing ice cold air by the afternoon. Quick, fast, honest, and professional work. His pricing was more than fair as a different shop within a few blocks was a few hundred dollars more for the same service. I would highly recommend his auto shop for any of your services.

I took my car to the dealership to get my regular oil change and first they came back and told me I needed transmission work done for $450, when I brought it in for the repairs, 2 hrs later they called me and said, no its the axles and that will cost $725 I felt extremely uncomfortable with the situation so I called a friend to see if she could recommend someone for a second opinion as Ive only lived in Jacksonville for 3 1/2 yrs and this is only the 2nd time Ive needed work done. Ironically enough when I started putting in the phn # I already had it saved because Automatt did me other repair 3 yrs ago. That was a sign for me, so now I can say Automatt is my mechanic for life. True and honest people, who are there to help. I will recommend them to everyone!!!

I wouldnt suggest going here. While he does off free estimates, he may not be able to diganose the problem correctly. I would go somewhere that gurantees their work. Also, I felt like bringing my vehicle in was a hindrance to him. Im sure there people have had better experiences than I have,Im just not one of them.

My wife and I were on our way back to NC from the Tampa area with our three year old in tow and my Mazda van started sputtering. I had had issues on the way down and found Automatts during an overnight stay at the JAX airport (his shop is just down the road). Decided to complete the trip without stopping in and thought I might have fixed the problem myself. Then we started back home and the same thing started happening. As luck would have it I was approaching Jacksonville again so I decided to take the van in, expecting to have to get a hotel and replace multiple coils in my V-6 ($$$). Matts son came out to meet me and listened to everything I had to tell him, including my thoughts on what the problem might be (I was wrong). Nothing puts me at ease at a mechanics more than them taking the time initially to listen to what Ive noticed. Matt came up and I talked to him for a few minutes and showed him the part I had changed a few days earlier. He told me how busy he was that day (Jan 2, backlog from being closed for New Years Day) but said he could check a couple of things really quickly. Within 15 minutes he had identified the misfiring coil- without the car dropping any codes for him to check- and called in the part he needed next door to Advance Auto. I was back on the road in under an hour, paid for the part plus a very reasonable labor charge, and nine hours later I arrived in the mountains of NC without another problem. Anyone in need of auto repair in the Jacksonville area should be taking their cars here. Thanks Matt.

My van went down on me and I called road side assisants. USAA referred Auto Matt to service my vehicle. I goggled the shop for reviews and only seen good reviews, so i oked my vehicle to be towed there. They mechanics were fast at getting the my vehicle and come to find out I only run out of gas. Just when you think there isnt any honest mechanics around anymore. These guys showed great integrity and outstanding customer service. Auto Matt has just earned a brand new customer.
