Best book store experience! Just introduced my Mom and best friend from Buffalo,NY to this experience today. They loved it and didnt want to leave!

Had two boxes of books to sell, was taken care of right away. This place has so many cool well-loved books, I almost bought more with the money I was paid. Nice people, great selection.

Always a good experience and youll never know what you find. Also surprisingly good vinyl selection. I recommend going at least once a month as stock changes rapidly.

I went to Half Price Books hoping to sell some books to them and was unsuccessful as they were curriculum that isnt in high demand. However the staff was very helpful in recommending other options and even showing me online how to find the sites and what to do. They have a great setup for evaluating books to buy but dont expect much money for your books. All in all it was a good experience.

I come here all the time. Im always adding books to my TBR list and I love coming here to look for books on that list or to just browse and see what I find. They also sell jigsaw puzzles, dvds, and other fun stuff. Half price books is my happy place.

Half Price Books is always a 5 star experience. I love happening upon treasures; although you can often find a specific book youre looking for as well. The staff is always wonderful.

HPB was one of my favorite bookshops as a teenager, and Im happy to see its still here!

I made a wrong turn and it was a great one! Im not originally from the area, so I hadnt been familiar with this store (or that its a chain). It turned out to be a wonderful surprise. The couple of books I did search for I found. But honestly, its a perfect place to browse. They have several gorgeous sets of 1st editions; classics as well as kitsch. Everything is sorted well, by subject and by author, and there are many categories to choose from. Scooping up a paperback I have been wanting to read for a dollar made my nerdy day. They were also masked and practicing social distancing, which, lets face it, should be commonplace even with the mandate lifted. All-in-all a great spot that I plan on returning to often.

Good prices if you are buying. However, the offer on selling your books is a joke. I learned to Goodwill my books or just pitch them in a dumpster.

Good experience. They move things around since weve last been there. If you havent been for a while, youre in for a surprise. Shouldnt take too long to reorient yourself. Great selection. They have lots of puzzles, video games, board games, movies, CDs oh, and obviously book. Their clearance selection was pretty big as well.

Ive always loved this Half Price Books, but now that Ive gone in during covid, I love it even more. It felt clean and safe to be there, they still had an amazing selection, and they processed the books we came in to sell super quickly. So glad to have this place.

They give you .50 cents for a book they sell for 15 so I don’t bother selling anything there, they straight up rob you. The books are a little over priced and I usually find better deals on Amazon but if I want something sooner I go there .

Great venue for used classical and jazz vinyl albums and obscure used cds in all styles. Worth a detour. Quite decent selection of books in foreign languages, especially French and Spanish. Go now! (Allez Vite!)

They paid me 20 dollars for 2 large bags of nursing textbooks. Rip off.Theyll sell them for triple that...

Great place to find books, like: World Vacation Guides, Language learning books, Chess Books, World & Literature References & History, Math, Philosophy, Military Biographies, Poetry & wring guides, etc. The Sky is the limit. Well organized store and friendly helpers ready to assist you with your book needs. Great prices at a discount for books and Military discount for all Military Veterans.

As always, I spent way too much! But thats a good thing and most of the books were for the kids! I was a bit disappointed I couldnt find any Splat the Cat books as my son has taken a liking to those books!

Everyone there is nice and helpful, the selection of books, films and records is rather immense.A lot of interesting things to choose from more any kind of person who likes tv shows and movies, music and most importantly, books.I found book 1 and 3 of a song if ice and fire for really cheap and come great films.I didnt have enough time to stick around and look thoroughly through the record collection but I did manage to pick up one record, at least.But a great place with great deals and lost of interesting things to peak anyones interest. Even lots of collectors items too.Go check it out!

As always, I love this place. This particular location (I feel) doesnt have quite the selection as the Greenbriar store (86th and Ditch) does, but always a good day for cheap books!

Got more movies, even in clearance. More modern family seasons to binge watch. And can order items from other stores and delivered to my home, thru their database.

This is a great place to find a good book for yourself or a friend, they even have a good selection of books in foreign languages.

The folks who work here are very helpful with locating books...in their store or at others. When ordering books, you receive them in a timely manner.

Love that they offer gift cards. My daughter gets them for Christmas & birthday gifts. Its hard to keep up with her reading so this place is a awesome place to get her books.

They are great: tons of items and also novelties. Prices are right. I will say that I used to buy books exclusively here because of the deals however the library IS a better price point for similar materials. But if you do need to own a book HPB has options.

A fantastic inventory here! They were not short of my favorite Sci Fi TV show and movie collections. Their religious/theology/Christian section was pretty divers as well. This is now going to be a spot I visit anytime I have to travel to this side of Indy.

My experience today at Half Price Books on 82nd Street, Indianapolis was very enjoyable! We had just got to an area and started looking when a young man walked up and offered his assistance. He asked if he could help us find a specific author or even which book we were searching for. He came back later & informed me that a book I was interested in was available @ the 86th Street store. He had checked and came back to let me know. How thoughtful! I wish I had caught his name. Great service.

I love this place when I need a new book or three. Everyone is masked and does pretty well to keep their distance. It was a pretty nice place to go and browse before, and is just as good now.

Used books are almost like new. They make sure that the books are in good condition.

I had a good time browsing at this Half Price. I found an interesting selection of French comics (with attached notes), secondary material about ancient philosophy, and enamel pins of Kurt Vonnegut and his asterisk.

Tbh, who doesnt love a book store? HPB is always amazing and I always discover books I didnt know I was missing. The staff is always helpful and have great customer service.

Was there for a quick errand. Wanted to buy my third grader a reading book but had to quickly grab one off the shelf because they are suggesting 1 person per alcoves . So if someone is taking their time to choose their books, you may have to wait a little... I didnt have the time so I didnt wait...COVID-19 era...

If youre considering selling things to HPB, before you sell, be sure to double-check the value of the items youre considering trying to sell. Either because theyre too busy to research every item, theyre assuming people are going into the transaction with eyes open, or theyre just looking to maximize profits, HPB will usually only offer a small fraction of the actual value.

Half Price seems strange. The cost of a used book is always at a lower cost than a new one. Yet, supposedly, you want to sell a used book at half the price of a new one. Your prices are higher than new books that are marked down elsewhere.

Clean & quiet. Staff is helpful & friendly.
