This Barnes and Noble is pretty unique. It is a B&N College store, which means it’s focus is on textbooks rather than regular books. Any time I’ve gone in to ask for a specific book, if they don’t have it, they can place an order for it to come directly to the store, though. Also, the Cafe inside is pretty cool. They serve some Starbucks products, which always taste pretty good. They aren’t actually a real Starbucks, they’re a Barnes and Noble Cafe, so they don’t take the gift cards/rewards for Starbucks. Super friendly staff, management, and overall feel. 10/10 recommend!

The bookstore is mainly oriented towards students on campus. The selection of general books is small since most of the store is dedicated to textbooks and the like.

Prices are higher than average, for a book store very little of the products are books. Clothes are cute and coffee shop is nice

Its unfortunate that this is the bookstore that receives the financial aid payments to get my books because my textbooks are ALWAYS on backorder. Nearly every semester, this location is THE BIGGEST HINDERANCE to my education. The maximum capacity for a class is LITERALLY known semesters in advance, how hard is it to order slightly more textbooks than will be needed? You literally have one job and thats to supply textbooks to students. I shouldnt have to go elsewhere and spend money out of pocket that I dont have because this campus bookstore cant get their stuff together. When I have requested they order me a book, it didnt come in until the LAST WEEK of the semester. What am I supposed to do with that? IUPUI needs to reevaluate how things are ran here.Edit: came back to say this - MULTIPLE times Ive placed an order online for a NEW book only to receive a USED one in the mail yet still be charged for NEW.

I understand not being open during the weekends over the summer because business is slow but consider remaining open for the last weekend of the semester and/or school year (i.e. finals week) so that students have adequate time to turn in their rental books.

Very convenient location. After I left my Doc Appt., all I had to do was walk across the street!

I love coming here. It is a great place to have lunch with friends, grab a good book, or just thill from a long day of classes. The staff is always helpful and attentive.If you are ever in the area, stop in and check them out.

College bookstore but so much more. Theres cafe that serves treats and Starbucks branded coffee (its not a Starbucks but serves there stuff) products and an excellent general reading area just like a regular Barnes & Noble. Employees are super helpful and if they dont have what you are looking for, they will order it for you.

Dont expect a full-sized B&N; expect a bookstore serving college students. This is a very nice college campus bookstore. A smallish space, but it packs a lot of good merchandise.

Not much of a book selection. All categories of books fit on a few shelves. But overall a very nice place with a lot of iupui gear to support the school. Good staff.

Offer a used book for sale with a price, but they never have any used books available to buy so they end up charging for a brand new book. HUGE markups on everything - classic example of exploiting students in need. Suggestion - use this as your last ditch effort to get anything needed for classes as you will undoubtedly find everywhere sells what you need for a lot cheaper!

They don’t stock books, even for the first week of school. They’ll order a book for you and promise a week lead time. It took me 8 weeks to get mine. You cans get books online cheaper and faster. Iupui saves money by keeping a low inventory, they care about money, not education.

This is specifically for the Cafe inside B&N. It says they serve Starbucks but the drink I got that has espresso in it is not the same drink at all that starbucks makes. The espresso tastes like Tea. Ive had a lot of drinks from this Cafe and it always seems like something is wrong with the drink I ordered. Would not recommend.

Bad and shady business practices. They falsely advertise their prices and charge you twice the amount you originally expected based on their sticker because They didnt update their price on the shelf. If you can, AVOID this store by all means. Trust me, Chegg and Amazon are far more transparent on pricing and youll have a MUCH better experience.

Honestly, the only problem is how expensive it is. Staff is super friendly and they are all very helpful. It is also organized and they have a nice book selection.

Seem to never have the book you need and when they do, it is gut-wrenchingly overpriced. Three weeks and back-ordered book still hasnt come into stock. Get used to using Amazon or another online source to rent your books, saving time and money.

Overpriced books and trash service. They couldnt care less about the students. Check out Amazon before going here. Also check out Chegg, but AT ALL COSTS avoid buying books here. Its really not worth it and isnt realistic for most college students. Ive also met several people who worked here and I wouldnt suggest doing that either. They hire people for the first week then fire them after they dont need them anymore. The only reason I didnt give it a 1 star is because I found some pens there I liked once and someone helped me find a textbook there a few years ago.

They had adult coloring books on a coffee table! And some colored pencils. They provided me with a sharpener when asked and I was able to spend some down time coloring which was so relaxing!

DO NOT order any text books from this location. This book store is a joke, they will advertise a price online, say they ran out of what you ordered and charge you more than double of the amount you agreed to pay for. AND they will just take money out of your account with out consent. So if youre short on money, like most college students are, good luck with that over draft.

Nothing special honestly alot iupui merchandise but they do have a Starbucks and sitting area in the Starbucks so thats honestly the best part

B&N is my favorite store, however, at this IUPUI campus, books are pretty pricey compared to other forms of buying or renting books. I usually use this B&N as my last resource if I cannot find a book. The Starbucks inside offers much more food options than other places, but be ready to pay a pretty penny as well.

The book store itself is overpriced but has a nice atmosphere.The Starbucks within the bookstore however, SUCKS and I will not be going back after my experience yesterday. They served 4 people behind me, first, and when I got my Java chip frappachino it was completely LIQUID and not even like a frozen drink at all. It also had no whipped cream or chocolate drizzle. What the heck guys? I give the Starbucks ONE STAR.

Had a horrible experience with the rental service here. They are inconsiderate of students during finals week. Furthermore, their are extensively too high. Poor selection of books. The cafe within does nothing but take up space and your money. All said and done, a heinous place for students and faculty on IUPUI campus.

You will find the book price similar to what you can find on amazon!

I am rating the Starbucks a 1 star because they ruined my coffee experience today. I ordered a Salted Caramel Mocha Latte and I said hot, please. It came cold and the young lady working rolled her eyes at me when I said, I ordered a Latte, and I said hot. She then remade my drink in two seconds and it wasnt even warm but I walked away because I didnt want to deal with her attitude again. The lady who took my order even put my name and order on a cup that serves hot beverages...

Tiny selection of books and magazines. Ive seen better selections at a Walmart. I hesitate to call this a book store.

The lady in charge of the nursing area never seems to know what exactly is needed for the nursing program classes. I purchased a book but had to go back and get the book I really needed

The bookstore side of this shop is great, the Starbucks side is very slow and takes forever to get your cup of coffee.Make sure you have plenty of time before class or your appointment before getting in line!

Always friendly staff and a good selection

I dont even use this bookstore anymore. First, and probably the worst part, is that they dont offer Bursar Billing, so for those of us who have to use our student loan money to buy books, its absolutely terrible. Student Loans dont come until a minimum of ten days before the start of class, often much later than that, and so everything is in a rush.Whats even worse than that is that nine times out of ten when I try and order a book from them, its not even in stock; they have to order it from someplace else, and they are anything but efficient about it. Three weeks into class now and I still dont have the textbook I need for class; the one I ordered from Amazon, which was cheaper anyway? There within a couple of days.If youre going to force us to use your services in the University Bookstore for some books that are specific to IUPUI, at the very least you could act like a typical bookstore and actually have the damn things in stock, or if youre going to have to order them from someplace fourteen countries away, then offer Bursar Billing so that we can at least get on it as early as possible.If you dont have to use them, then dont. Save yourself the heartache of dealing with this subpar organization. (And they wonder why places like Amazon are slowly driving them out of business?)

Staff is great, I always go here to pickup books I ordered online and the process usually takes less than a minute.

I normally try to buy books for classes locally, but I cant keep giving this place my money. The student staff is very nice, but the management is rude, dismissive, and has consistently given me misinformation in regard to what they have in stock.

Im a little upset that the bookstore would be closed the very weekend before the fall semester starts, thats pretty inconvenient and an extra strain for students. Especially for those of us who received our financial aid late.

I rented a book that was used, but it had to be shipped. Turns out that they actually didnt even have the book so they took it upon themselves to send me a NEW book at quadruple the price torent it. They didnt hesitate to warn me before charging my debit card either.

Overpriced with a surprisingly poor selection of books. Dont be surprised if the textbook you need is sold out before classes start. Treat this as your bookstore of last resort when getting texts for the semester.

I bought software and wasnt told Itll expire in 2 months. They refused to let me return it (Sealed unused) after finding out day later.

I am not sure how to explain, but the server at the cafe used the restroom in front of me and walked out without washing her hands. I still ordered food with her, and the food had bits of the plastic cover in it.I know who to blame if I get sick after eating the food.
