First in for most, I just want to say that Ive been supporting this business for several years so I assumed that my feedback as a customer would have been valued but apparently I was wrong. I assumed that customer retention was a priority but after being yelled at by the male owner, Michael, that answers the phones on 12/13/2020, I dont believe I will be further supporting this business.As I stated, I have been supporting this business for years as it pertains to my immediate cosmetic needs. This past weekend I wanted to continue my support considering these challenging and unprecedented times. I was searching for 100% Afro Bulk Hair to manipulate for a specific hairstyle. The female owner, in which the store is named after, told me she had 100% human hair so I made my way to the store on 12/05. I told the owner that I needed that hair for bleaching and dying purposes and was reassured that the hair would qualify. I purchased two packs of hair and later on that evening began to examine the hair. I have a previous license in cosmetology and with the knowledge that Ive acquired I grew suspicious of the hair. I consulted with another licensed professional that did not recommend the hair. The professional spoke from experience and stated the hair would not process concluding false advertisement.I called the beauty supply and was told that only in store credits were allowed, no refunds. In result, I was offered an exchange in which they had no other alleged human hair afro bulk hair line. The manager replaced the hair with a different shade and reiterated 100% human hair quality. I took the hair home and began to style and rinse the hair, the hair did not respond as normal human hair would. At this point, I was very frustrated because money was wasted and felt that I was owed a refund for false advertisement.Finally, I called the beauty supply for that last time on 12/13 and spoke with that male owner. I reiterated to him the fact that I have been supporting the business for years and began to explain to him the nature of the situation. After a few minutes of elaborating, the manager interjected and responded DEFENSIVELY/RUDELY. The manager implied that the issue was not his problem and referred me to the distribution company of the product. The manager insinuated that I knew nothing of what I was talking about responding very dismissively. The male manager from that point on would not allow me to finish speaking and so I had to essentially argue with him to get a word in edgewise. Eventually the manager agreed to give me a refund and abruptly disconnected the call.While I understand that beauty supply does not make such supplies, the business still holds a level of responsibility and transparency for the products sold.. As a consumer, whether or not they consider the product line to be misleading I am still entitled to a refund due to false advertisement. The situation did not have to be that serious or difficult but the manager was obviously defensive. As a professional and business owner, he had absolutely NO RIGHT TO YELL AT ME AND DISRESPECT ME. I in no way disrespected him. Apparently, they do not care about customer service or retention therefore there is no need for me to continue to do business with these people. ALL IT TAKES IS ONE INCIDENT TO LOSE CLIENTELE!!!**Update and Response**Per the Better Business Bureau and FTC, this incident is definitely eligible for reporting and reviewing not only on a customer service level but for business practice as well. The BBB has already been reported to. If the business has been in operations for 24+ yrs there should easily be over 100 reviews with moderate business. The manager could stand to be a bit more humble and receptive versus condescending. Only 89/90 reviews in 24+ yrs is not impressive. Per other posts on Google, the items are depleted and outdated. Also, Google is not the only site available for reviewing. Someone else has posted about the misleading merchandise, fake hair, per Yelp in 2016.
