This place is never open on time. The hours say 8 am and they dont open until almost 8:30 everyday. The coffee is declining, Im not sure whats going on. My latte today tasted like it had a cleaning chemical in it, I could smell it while I was driving. Once I tasted it, I spat it out.Why does your syrup smell like a cleaning agent? Or did something spill in my drink? I have so many questions? This is the only reason Im leaving this review. This place used to be an everyday thing for me. After today, Ive decided to purchase my morning black owned coffee elsewhere.

Stopped in on this rainy Friday on the way to the zoo. Staff was friendly and coffee was excellent. Pumpkin latte with soy was the best I’ve ever had. Rich coffee flavor with a pumpkin slant was perfectly balanced, not too sweet, with a fragrant cinnamon stick. Deciding which muffin to have and the lady in the kitchen mentioned she had pumpkin muffins just out of the oven. Yum! Adding some nuts to this recipe would put it over the top! Was told that all of their coffee syrups are made from scratch and marshmallows toasted. They are checking all of the boxes. Great coffee, seasonal flavors and friendly faces hit the spot and helped ring in the season for me. Wishing I could live in the neighborhood. 🍁

The staff is nice and thats where everything good about this place ends. Their coffee taste like its been made with something from the late 60s. Their espresso drinks make you want to vomit and they over compensate for the lack of good espresso in their drinks with milk. Prices are higher than most places but that would totally be okay if the food was edible. Complete and total rip-off. If you wanna throw your money away this is the place...

A comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. At my request, the waitress chose my meal. The breakfast sausage croissant had a unique flavor that was superb. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend

This was a nice spot. The staff were nice and I think it’s black owned; I like to support! You can tell that they care and are very attentive to the customers. This is the #1 reason I am ok that I have spent my $25 here!!They had quite a lot of flavors and drinks to choose from! However, the sizes are small for the price. Unfortunately they weren’t selling savory foods at this time; I was kind of looking forward to trying their croissants.I didn’t care for the churro donut. It was dry as if microwaved.The inside was closed and there was no music. The patio was a bit small but I still think it was nice and cozy in a way. Good thing the weather was nice and it was shaded.Overall, it might be a good spot to stop and grab a quick coffee from their walk up window or read a book over tea on the patio…if I’m just looking for something to do—maybe😕I want to possibly give it one more chance🤔

Soooo, the breakfast is 💣 at this Female, Black Owned coffee house in Third Ward Houston, Texas! My daughter got the breakfast croissant and it is AMAZING! Never had gatlic butter on a breakfast sandwich, but now I wont be able to eat one without it! Lol, and the bacon came from GOD himself bc it was divine. I had the Lake Charles roll and my favorite part was the boudain. Please go support her! We will mosdef be back!

Cool little spot. Inside was not open so I ordered at the outside window. Got 2 cold brew coffees with cold brew cubes and a Cajun turkey, egg & cheese croissant. All was delicious especially the breakfast sandwich. They brought the food to me on the patio pretty quickly and were courteous. Only downfall was parking but not that big of a deal if you are in and out but may have to circle the area if youre thinking about eating there and hanging out. Overall, nice hang out spot for coffee and breakfast.

I have been eyeing this place for a couple months since hearing about it and I finally got the opportunity to stop by. I ordered the lazy daze (I think that’s it) with almond milk. The espresso was smooth and the drink was really good (don’t rush to sip it’s piping hot!) my daughter got the hot chocolate which was rich and creamy. The breakfast sandwich did seem a little pricey to me but after 1 bite it was totally worth it. I’ll definitely be back to try more menu items as everything looked good. The only downside is the patio was wet and the inside wasn’t open for dine in but we enjoyed it in the parking lot. Also the cronut is good, but I’d recommend asking if it can be served warm.

The team is very nice! The prices are reasonable for a coffee shop. The king cake latte was soooo good! Can’t wait for the inside to open up. Looks like my type of place to get work done and still be in a good vibe. I will definitely be back.

I had an egg and cheese croissant with a churro latte. The croissant was one of the best I ever had and the coffee was good. The dining area is closed but they have a deck outside.

This place is truly phenomenal. My brother was impressed by the lattes and he’s a coffee connoisseur. I got the kappa tea and it was perfect, not too sweet not too tart. You can tell they really know what they’re doing here! The kolache was quite literally life changing. I’ve never had anything like it before. Tender flaky crust wrapped around the juiciest, most flavorful, crisp to the bite sausage that has ever entered my mouth. They somehow managed to finagle fitting a fresh egg on top of this beautiful treat and I was in heaven. Most definitely recommend!

You can only sit outside. For a $6 coffee you get a tiny cup. Food was pretty expensive as well and not that great. The avocado was hard, the croissant was super greasy, and the rest of the food was dry. I liked the napkins.My friends ordered stuff and they were not impressed. Do not recommend.

Let me start by saying that it was no dine because of COVID at this time. I ordered the Snooze Button and was entirely too sweet. When I went to bring my order back no one could see me at the window. I must have waited 5 minutes before they saw me. (Id suggest a bell.) I brought back the drink and they offered something else at no cost. I ordered the Deja Vu and it was delicious. I also ordered a boudin kolache and at first the lady in the back was saying they were out and then said she would make more. While I appreciated them making more, it came out to me as a hot mess. It was falling apart and chewy. I have to compliment the girl who took my order, she was cheerful, patient and helpful.

The prices are average or less than Starbucks and it’s one of the best coffee drinks I have had. I’ve been living here for 20 years and just heard about this place. I really enjoyed the service and atmosphere here. The woman who first took my order remembered my name and was very friendly. She saw me eye-ing a table in the corner that had not been bussed yet and immediately let me know she would be right there to clear it for me which was really nice.The egg, bacon & cheese breakfast sandwich I had was really yummy. As for the Vanilla latte I first ordered, it was too sweet for me. I think if I had ordered an extra Espresso shot as I usually do, it would have been much better. I could tell there was a little too much vanilla in it.The Wifi worked really well. I spent a good 2 hours here and had no problems at all with it.There was a lot of seating inside with a lot of cable outlets which was good. There was also an outside seating area on a deck which was a nice option to have, even though it is way too hot & humid right now to enjoy outdoor working. My only complaint about the inside seating was it was a little bit crammed.Im giving 4 stars only because it was fairly expensive. My vanilla latte & breakfast sandwich was already wracked up to $19.00. Yet still, I will be back to enjoy the easy-going atmosphere with good workspace and service.

Im just confused. I came here on a Tuesday at around 9:30am and no one was there. The open sign was lit up, I double checked the time to make sure I wasnt too early or late. I walked around the entrance, and the take out door, waited around abit until I finally decided to leave. uhm..are yall still open...? was there some button i was supposed to push or....?

This place is like Harlem Roaring 20s black, great customer service, great atmosphere, my brain is starting to wrinkle. Loveeeeee the art, the wall on the right as you walk in just puts me at ease. There use of tech is darling. Its like its there, but you dont see it. Love it.

Love the veggie breakfast croissant! And the almond croissant. Try the churro latte--it is on point! As is the pumpkin spice latte which I crave every year period and they do it spot on delicious! Horrible espresso drinks. Latte had no coffee in it. Way too pricey for the quality of the food.

They lost/forgot my order twice. Usually at Starbucks they’ll add a small pastry to make up for the long wait or a “sorry for the wait”—nothing. Ordered a wakeme up latte and dirty chai at the to-go window and they were pretty good. For the dirty chai they actually leave a cinnamon stick in the cup which was unique. Maybe will try again on a week day.

Went here late at night and it was decent. This is more of a late night vibe with hookah and music, but we were looking more for food. The food was decent, couldn’t expect much. The server seemed to be worry about everything else but our table. I’m guessing this spot is more of a hookah and late night vibe.

I moved out here from Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a doctoral degree at UH. I have been wanting to find my spot where I can be productive and not distracted. One day, I googled study spot and literally, this business popped up as study spot. Super simple. Super straight forward and totally characteristic of this place. Gena, the owner, greeted me and although I didnt know that I had to make an appointment (due to the pandemic and to assure the safety and social distancing of its clients), she didnt even ask twice, let me know that some people cancelled their reservations and gave me a spot to sit, eat, drink my coffee and work. When ordering, I told her I only really drink strong Cuban coffee and without hesitation she simply said, I got you and fixed a bomb cup of coffee. I tried the Lake Charles roll and I swear its the best thing Ive had in a minute. Genas spot is cozy, friendly, welcoming, the internet speed is great and the MUSIC! From 90s soft rock to pop and just really chill. I definitely recommend this place!

They were so nice! I came here to work on some artwork on their outdoor patio and it was perfect. One of the employees even brought me some extra ice water after I was outside a bit and that kind of service makes this charming place even better. Will come again.

Very dope vibe here. I came here with a friend during a weekend trip to visit Black owned spots.The staff was super friendly. They were patient and assisted me with any questions. I got the Deja Brew with Colombian brew, sweet cream and cinnamon. It was the perfect amount of sweetness and a great way to start my day.The atmosphere is really relaxing and inviting. The have both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside and enjoyed the sun. The also have free WiFi and its a good place to come study or work on stuff.Theres free street parking.Theres a Black owned candle company a few doors down I recommend visiting after grabbing coffee and food here.

The Hot Chocolate was amongst the best I’ve had in the city. It tastes like it’s made with real chocolate and has some extra flavors like cinnamon I believe.I also had the croissant breakfast sandwich, it was good but a bit heavy, and there weren’t many breakfast options at the time.I had attempted to go a couple days before, when they were supposed to be open, but their doors were locked (this was during the government shutdown, it could’ve been due to that). This might be why they didn’t have all their food available.

Was looking for a good coffee shop. This is the spot. The women were nice & patient in explaining their flavored iced coffees. I forget which one I got the first day but what I do remember is it tasted great. Just what I was looking for. However; the best discovery was the AMAZING blueberry muffins. Was told they are made in house. I also tried the banana muffin which was probably close to the best Ive had. I was in the area the following day and made sure to stop & get more muffins. I will definitely stop by when in Houston. The Best Blueberry Muffin Ever!!

I really enjoy the atmosphere of this coffee shop. One thing I really appreciate is that the music is never super loud and I can concentrate on my work or the conversation I am having.Coffee is great as well. I always ask what the barista recommends and every time I get to sip on something delicious.

My first time with my kids was ok. I was the only customer at the time and the food that was brought out to us was luke warm. Tasted like left overs. Eggs were rubbery, cinnamon roll was burnt, and we were given mashed fruit int a small sandwich bag. Coffee was ok but had grinds in it. Didnt want to complain much because a little girl was my server.I just didnt understand why my food wasnt fresh because I was the only customer at moment.

First off it’s black owned so that’s a plus for me. Then everything about this place is amazing. Prices are reasonable. Ample space for working. Very clean. The owner is so nice and personable. Definitely my go to to work.

Every time I come here my experience is even more refreshing than the last. Fresh hot food partnered with good strong coffee. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a serene setting to enjoy alone or with business colleagues.

I love this coffee shop. Family-owned and run, they have delicious coffee and dairy free milk options. They have food and pastry offerings that smell delicious, but unfortunately there arent many options for my gluten-free diet. Regardless, this is a wonderful spot for studying, reading, or meeting a friend over coffee.

Cool neighborhood spot, great and reasonable breakfast and delicious variety of exotic coffees. Look out Starbux. Love the hip ambience, computer stations nestled amidst art and chalkboard full of positive messaging, interesting connections. Eclectic and comfy chairs, tables, workspaces, like visiting an old professor.

One dry cappuccino? Fine. Muffin just out of the oven? Drooling. Drooling. Fine. These are the things I regularly order. And now you know why. I can literally sit here all day, correct my morning energy, my morning craving for carbohydrates ... gain a few hours ... dine not only to soothe the grunts in my tummy, but because I crave this beautiful, aromatic, cupcake and cannot concentrate if I don’t have it. And then I can print a little more, satisfying my hunger and not feeling guilty for having been sitting at the same table all day ... mmm ... typing ... The interior is also beautiful by the way!

I come here to play chess all of the time. The atmosphere here is really peaceful and fun. Plenty of good food and drinks, come on by wether youre in the mood for a muffin and a coffee or for a nice relaxing chess game.

This is a really nice place with kind owners/workers and a nice earthy vibe and amazing artwork. The food (egg croissant) and coffee (Deja Brew) were both very tasty as well.

We are moving to the neighborhood and I was lucky to randomly try Kaffeine for a coffee and then lunch. What a great place. By the end of the visit, Gena the owner had introduced me to several new neighbors. Great service and food--Ill definitely be a regular.
