This place is a REAL bike shop. Minor repairs done on the spot to get you back on the bike that day. UNREAL selection of specialty parts. Inventory of headsets, hubs, stems, etc. was flat out impressive to see in a shop. Wish this place was closer to me so I could call it my local bike shop.

I came to this business with great expectations. The ratings are great and I was looking forward to the experience but what I received was a very cold person who treated me like he hated my kind. He NEVER once asked what could he help me with. When I walked in, I was very impressed by how clean and professional the store looked and acknowledged that. He NEVER smiled, said thank you or anything. I told him I needed brakes and asked the cost. He stated it depends but didnt really seem interested in my business. I told him the bike was in the car and I was alone. He never offered one time to help assist with the bike. I scruggled trying to hold the door and guide the bike at the same time and he never even tried to help or anything. He answered questions very dry and even suggested I go to another shop. I was very respectful and kind regardless and left his business feeling like I was never wanted there to begin with.

A picture is worth a thousand words but words provide an honorable mention to excellent service provided by good hands. After meeting Chris through a mutual CCC friend/ Mr. RJ as well as my brother, I decided to take my stock Electra Townie 21D for not only a face lift but a bit of fine tuning. Chris suggested changing out the stock bearings in the wheels as well as the crank and replacing them with sealed bearings, changing out the front metal crank/gears, crank arms and pedals for light weight components, not only reduced resistance but also lighten the cruiser overall. In addition the spoked wheels were changed out with red mags making it pop and giving the old townie and unique look. The rear gears and hub were also changed out with custom gear ratios recommended by Chris which made shifting of the gears seamlessly smoother giving me a faster top end. The chain was also changed out with a higher quality chain, color coordinated with the mags. The handle bars and neck were changed out giving it a townie/BMX hybrid look. Last but not least the tires were replaced with Michelin Protek Urban Aramid tires 87 PSI and Michelin C4 Protek Max MTB tubes. All in all the final package rides super smooth and quick. I definitely recommend this shop as well as Chris workmanship. Great job Chris!!!

Just had a pair of old GT Superlace hubs built with a new set of double-walled rims. Chris did an excellent job! This place is a must if you are into racing, street, vert or dirt. Im trying to put together a mid-school Quadangle frame set, and as anyone who has tried to buy 20 parts from a shop knows, most places dont even carry them. I actually heard about ORP from another shop that specialized in road bikes. They didnt have any BMX parts, but the salesman told me that ORP was the place to go for all things BMX in the Houston area. Was not disappointed. If you like being able to see/touch/feel a wide variety of components (or complete bikes) instead of gambling online, or just to ask for an informed opinion, I would definitely recommend this place.

Then he told me that I would have the same problem with the next shop that I go to. These guys are so knowledgeable in their craft. I can literally spend hours here talking with them about what they know, and they are very easy to talk to. The work coming out of this place is nothing short of legendary. I can’t even imagine setting foot in another shop because these guys know so much and charge reasonable prices. This is one of the very few places that you get the feeling that you are in the presence of elite craftsmanship. The selection of components here is almost overwhelming.

Do not go to this place!!!... When I got there the mechanic in charge did not want to give me an estimate on what I needed for my bike. he told me to leave it and he would fix it. I told them to let me know the price thinking that they would charge me whatever after having it ready!. Then the guy asked me if he could get it fixed if the estimate were about $100.00. I said it could be. Then he asked what about if it were $150.00. I told him to give me a call for me to let him know. I felt at that moment he was pretty much finding out how high he could go with their rate. They ended up calling me to let me know the bike was ready with a $120.00 bill for a very simple job I could have done my self if I had the tool. They never showed me an invoice with a breakdown of parts and labor. They also told me there was not warranty not even for the labor and that I should test my mountain bike on the parking lot where there is not comparison at all to the trails I ride on. I do not recomend this place at all!. Find a proffesional shop where you can feel the confidence to go back to spend your money over and over!!!.

In the BMX world theres a LOT of opinions, factory dads, and people out there that like to make you think they no what theyre doing! Simply put...if you want it done RIGHT the first time by someone who KNOWS what they are doing because theyre the real deal, then go to Chris Rickard at ORP! Hes fair, knowledgable, competent, trustworthy and if you want to go fast...hell get you there (at least on his bikes). I suggest cutting through all the BS and going straight to the top with ORP. I could have saved a boat load of money by going to him the first time. Lastly, they have the best selection of bike parts west of the Mississippi! I cant find bike parts in stock anywhere else. Big shout out to the ORP team for doing it the right way! Thank you for being the last brick and mortar bike shop on the planet that actually functions like one.

Review №46

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE FOR BICYCLE REPAIRS unless you have a kiddy bike that needs very basic repair and don’t mind paying more for it than a full tune-up on a newer model Lexus. An absolute joke and total rip-off place! If you have a nicer, serious road or mountain bike, do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place - their knowledge appears to be limited to the very basic of repairs on kids BMX-type bikes. Steer clear as well if you don’t want to be misled by unethical business practices. I wasn’t told that my estimate DID NOT include labor (which the owner said he bills at $100/hr - which is more than triple that of a certified auto technician and just under the median hourly fee of attorneys in the US). The Owner neglected to tell me about his “labor rate” at the time I dropped off the bike - he just said that a new gear set and chain (both to be installed) would be about $75, which seemed fair given the simplicity of it. I have no problem if a guy imagines his bicycle repair work is worth $100/hr, but he should have told me that BEFORE I agreed to the work AND included it in his price quote. In the end, he wasn’t even able to install the new gears (which is what I took the bike there for in the first place), but he happily put on a new chain and cleaned it for $150. Total joke. Please do yourself a favor and don’t give any business to this shop, whether it’s for repairs or to purchase a new bike. And please pass the word so that this shop can’t rip off others as well.

Do I have to give a star? Me and My Boyfriend walked in, and the first initial look we got was like; do you even own bikes? There was another guy and his kid in there, and the guy behind the counter seemed to be having a nice conversation with them, but when we started to ask questions, and just got some head nods, and a weird stare. My boyfriend said he was interested in buying a new bike, and this guy didn’t say anything. Would’ve been a great opportunity for him to sell a bike.
