Whoever is in charge of this Dollar General needs a raise!!! FRESH PRODUCE PEOPLE!!! At Dollar General! They recently remodeled this store, and everything is so much better. The lights they put on the isles makes everything so much brighter and easier to see. I can tell more good things are coming, and I can not wait!

This location on Carpenter Dam is now my new fave! Here’s why: They have fresh produce options now! The only catch is getting by there in time before it’s all gone. I haven’t inquired yet about this new feature yet, but I plan to.The store has been remodeled. They offer Self-Checkout. The cashiers are friendly! Never a long wait in line!

It was clean, but several things out of stock and super long line. It consistently smells like body odor and cigarettes. I would pass.

We went in this morning to get a few sale items, the lady behind the counter was on her playing with her phone didnt say anything to us, and when the machine wouldnt give me a receipt because it wadded it up inside, she didnt look up and said Its ok its just out of paper, turnedaround and walked off

What a great produce section. Large variety of refrigerated food and frozen foods. This is NOT a typical Dollar General.

This store has been updated and has some fresh fruits and vegetables. Love it.

This store is the only one in the area with a self checkout! It is super convenient! This store has everything and is probably my favorite location

This location has produce now green giant produce and the strawberries are delicious.

Freshly remodeled. They dont open until 9am, so if needing something on the way to work, your out of luck.

$ general sure has come up in the world since the first store opened. You have to pay attention to what you buy. Stuff isnt just a dollar at the dollar store any more.

It is a very good shopping experience. They always greet me and offer to help me find things -- they always ask if I am finding everything I need. They are just really nice to me every time I go shopping there.

DOLLAR GENERAL, this LOCATION, has CHANGED!Clothing, home goods, largest CHIPS AND COOKIES selection ever and BEER?!?!?!Cashier was awesome! She knew where ever ITEM I was looking for was located exactly! I can stay OUT of the large RETAIL STORE I really dont like with a great STORE in town like this!

May be the cleanest, most organized DG Ive visited. Even more impressive when considering the high volume of shoppers.

DG is a great place to run in for a quick stop for groceries, toiletries, cleaning supplies and snacks. I always find nice things in holiday decor. They have a yummy freezer section.

This store is so convenient. It has everything I need. Great deals and coupons. Dont like the small aisles, makes it hard to shop. Especially when they put out stock.

Remodel kind of messed up the store because the fresh foods are to expensive. Thought the purpose of the dollar store was to save money

The $ Gen @ Carpenter Dam, & Shady Grove is Great!I live near the $ Gen on Albert Pike, but, as so often is the case, IT only had 1 thing I needed, and that was Tape!I spent almost $60.00 @ the Carpenter Dam, & Shady Grove location !!!!The Albert Pike Store is Dirty!And the Employees try, really try, to clean it, but it needs Professional Cleaners.The employees cant remove the old, brown wax containing paper clips, safety pins, paper, hair....Etc!

Most workers here are down to earth and helpful. Enjoy shopping there most the time

So nice to have close by if you need that last minute item. I guess it reminds me of The General Store from some of the Western Shows, Gunsmoke Gonna run down to the General Store.. Glad to have them, Dollar General!!!

Return policies are crazy, even with a receipt they need your life story. Only ever have one cashier and the line is always at minimum 6-7 customers deep. Aside from one sweet cashier, everyone else that works there is exceedingly rude.

Usually clean and well stocked. Biggest problem is the same one at most Dollar General locations, the have at least 4 registers, but choose to only man 1 of them. Its a very busy location which can result in a 10 minute wait to check out sonetimes.

Clean and usually cluttered. Apparently they handle a lot of stock. Every time I have been in store, stock is sitting in aisle to be put in shelves. Convenient location.

The store on Malvern near Ackers is awesome. The people are friendly, very helpful and take you to the item you need to find. If they are out of an item they let you know when it will be in. They have some items the other stores do not have.

Dollar Stores will surprise you. I like some of their products....that you cant find anywhere else. Their travel coffee mugs are 2 for $1.00. I use mine all the time. Cuts down on spills.

Very friendly & didnt follow you around, some DGs have employees that would rather follow you around, talking or not do the work, I dont blame them. Underpaid and the work is way too much for one or two employees.

Store was very messy and there was so much stuff all over the floor it was hard to even walk through. I highly recommend you drive the extra 2 miles and go to the other Dollar General thats next to Garvan Gardens.
