This little shop is the yummiest, freshest, and most unique flavored sherbert shop! The flavors they come up with is always making you come back for more! They are also one of the most friendliest family run business. So excited for their storefront! Easy to find.. lots of parking! Follow them on IG for the most up to date flavors! Their subscriptions sell out fast too!

Top-notch local kine sherbet that brings back good memories of when you were a kid. Such a great family-run business that definitely put their customers first. They always do surveys on instagram for opinions and have a bunch of giveaways. They were passing out pastries and sherbert for lihing float day. You can tell that they care a lot about their customers :).

Finally went downtown to see what the buzz was about. I arrived at 8:50 and got in to the already long line. Brah people were out there with Yeti cooler backpacks, lawn chairs, umbrellas, the works. They held a raffle and gave out reusable bags, and had an umbrella basket you could use, which made the wait fun. They also took orders while we were in line so it was ready at the counter when you arrived. You can order pints for $6.99. The flavors were spot on and captured well, if not a little icy, but certainly worth trying if you’re on island. I’m not keen on subjecting myself to another hour and a half wait, but the line clears up around 11-11:30 am or so, depending on the week. If you want first dibs at all the flavors, best to be early. Very cool small family shop. Keep up with their Instagram to know what the flavors of the month are along with the specialty flavor of the week.

Talk about throwback and nostalgia. Asato Family shop brings back memories of indulging in local flavors growing up. Their unique touch of blending flavors into sherbet and the quality of their product can go unmatched. So nice to see local communities support this business, so many roots and such a great atmosphere!

Some flavours are good, some are just okay, and some are terrible. My family was not a fan of the holiday flavours, one of which just tasted like applesauce. Consistency also seems to be a problem. Even with the same flavour, we found the texture to vary anywhere from nice and creamy, to rough and icy.The whole ordering process was also frustrating. You can only order them in pints, and the only convenient way to guarantee an order is to do it online exactly at 12:00pm sharp and putting in an order for 6 flavours of their choosing. This comes out to about $7 per pint, and that includes flavours you hate and have no choice but to buy. The only alternative is to wait in their ridiculously long lines every Sunday morning for their opening at 10:00am (time it says on their main website), where they somehow find a way to sell out at 9:30am (time owner told me in person at the store). I understand their desire to create a high demand for their low supply, but it just makes the product overhyped and underwhelming. For the few pints that we did enjoy, we all found the taste and texture to be exactly like the ice cakes we all enjoyed growing up here, specifically those from Samurai, which are much cheaper and much more consistent, though their flavour selection is only limited to a couple or so, but at least theyre always open and never seem to sell out.

Not only is this sherbert amazingly delicious, the flavors are reminiscent of all that it means to be local and live in Hawaii. Spectacular service with that family-style touch. Monthly subscription service is available on their website, but you need to have quick fingers to grab them as soon as it goes live because they sell out almost immediately. You MUST try a pint (or 6)! 😋

The cutest, friendliest fam-owned shop located right next to Peoples Cafe (by Pali Longs). SO excited to have them right in town and open to the public. Now everyone can snag some of their yumminess! BEST local, homemade sherbert... call it guri guri, if you may. if you havent had it, you gotta try it!! they have a variety of seasonal sherberts as well as their classics: strawberry, green river, and pineapple. they never disappoint and how can you NOT support local?!

I LALALALOOOOVE their sherberts. I only been buying from them since May 2018 but I get my subscription every month at least. before they were open only when was subscription pick up but now they are open every Sunday and seems like they have been open some Tuesday and Wednesdays too. They still have subscriptions now too every weekend. And they are VERY friendly. I miss when they were at halawa. Only because they were closer to my house. But I am very happy for them that they finally got their own shop. Theres parking on the street and you can park in longs parking lot next to them and walk over. And you can see that signature Asato sign from the street. Very easy to get to. If you havent had their sherberts, you missing out.
