Wonderful store with everything we needed in stock. We went at 1pm on a Sunday. I noticed this Costco is less crowded than other locations we shop at, aisles were easier to navigate and there was almost no line at checkout. Wow.I’m specifically pleased with their large frozen food aisles. We liked the layout and found the things we came for. Worth the extra drive to come here.We spotted a Halloween costume for our son today. It’s higher quality than other places in town and a much lower price! And they had his size. So glad I happened upon that.On the way out the man checking our receipt/cart drew a quick picture for our son. That little bit of aloha is why we love to shop at Costco. Mahalo!
Love Costco. The new samples are so odd tho. Only as a display? They have some one standing there by prepared food that you have to just look at. Limit on toilet paper and paper towels should be raised to 2 per visit one is just nuts its not like people cant go to the car and back in which we seen people doing. One is to little bit.
We drive an extra 15 minutes to always come to this Costco. I never have a problem bringing my dog in with me cause she’s a service dog. Sometimes they ask for her paperwork and sometimes they don’t. I asked one of the employees a question because i forgot my card and he was completely rude to me and his tone of voice was grouchy. He then asked me for proof that my dog was a service dog because he did not believe me. I showed him the paper and then he told me since she’s a esa dog that i could not bring her in. When i have brought her in almost every time with me. The employees name was Maka and it was on 11/4/2021. I never leave reviews like this but when someone is so rude I’ll definitely take the time to say something. I hope he doesn’t treat anyone else like this. Maybe he was having a bad day but that doesn’t mean to take it out on customers who are just trying to grocery shop for their families. I ended talked to Rachel and she was so helpful and nice and had a great attitude :) thanks Rachel
I just love shopping at Costco. It is the best place to get everything you need for a longer time instead of going back and forth to the supermarkets. They have amazing deals also. HAPPY HAPPY, HAPPY
Convenient and less crowded than all other Costco locations on Oahu. Always spend way too much lol
Although always crowded, too convenient to pass up, as well as gas up
My 2nd fave Costco. Not to busy during week.
Get here near opening for less crowds. Great selection of Asian snacks and Hawaiian specialties. Also a great wine selection along with some good sake options. They also have six packs of local beers. Nice selection of beach gear if you are visiting from out of state. Highly recommend dropping by here and filling up your suitcase with some treats to bring back home.
Great staff. The fastest cashiers on the island in my opinion. Im the type that likes to get my stuff and get out and given their hectic high traffic hours like 5pm they handle it pretty well.
My last visit was not good. In the Return department . I return over $200 items paid cash. They have a great return policy 100%back on my items. Some are subject to change. I did not have the receipt but the worker looked on line for my records. And found it. Showing that I paid cash. When the employee was ready to get me my refund she said she not going to give me cash. Because I had no receipt. She said she would only give me credit on visa debit card or a gift card. I said I never had a problem before at other Costco stores. The line was long I had no choice. So I gave a new card Visa card. Long story short. When I call the bank of my credit CARD THEY TOLD ME IM NOT GETTING ANY CREDIT ON MY card l after 30 days . I was upset. My daughter is moving and no money to give her.Still waiting on an Manger to call me back I spend almost 4hours working on this problem. Almost miss my grandkid birthday party. The return employee made her own rules without asking a manager.Thank you Roland for trying to help.the last word was someone is going to call me back. In still! Waiting!😒
Although it was quite busy, its still have the best return policy and customer service! Also, Pharmacy staffs were so helpful! Thank you!
Member only store. Best place to stock up on supplies (bottled water, alcohol, etc) while visiting the island.
More relaxing Costco than Iwilei. If they had gas service, then 5 stars.
Best Costco on the island hands down! Best time to shop is when all the moms are picking up their kids at school
This location is way better than Alakawa. Its kinda outta the way though. The traffic getting to this location is a make it or break it kinda deal.
Went with our friends. Great if planning to buy in bulk.
I had a very bad experience at this Costco. What was going to be a quick trip to purchase a few water bottles out of the vending machine ended up with the manager having to be called. As I was entering one of the entrances, the door checker, Maki, screamed at me as I was trying to enter to purchase some water bottles out of the vending machine.I did not yell, I was not rude, and I was not abusive. This particular Costco employee was, unfortunately, doing all three of these things. They continued to be rude to me as I started walking towards the other door, shouting good job! in a mocking tone.A better way this situation could be handled is to politely inform a customer such as myself that it is store policy to go through a certain entrance (its not, but lets be theoretical and say its a local thing). This may confuse people trying to return their purchases, go to the optical department, go to the hearing aid department, going to the pharmacy, going to purchase or renew a membership, going to sign up for a Costco credit card, going to the bathroom, or going to the vending machines (such as myself), but it would still be better than how it was handled. From my end, there is nothing I can do but complain to management and suggest you dont go to this particular location. Costco is still a great brand, but this type of toxic behavior should never be tolerated.
Always nice to shop at Costco. Lots of variety of things to choose from & employees very helpful.
Bought everything for a week on the island. So good and fresh.
So good products. Nice people.
They always have plenty shopping carts. They definitely focus on the Asian market. Its usually a great place to buy produce, but weve had some issues lately with spoiled food that was not out of date. Very crowded. Dangerous parking lot! Be alert!!
A nice one on this side of the island and not crazy crowded.
Typical well run COSTCO. My adventure started in Kapolei COSTCO where the items I was looking for were out of stock. The staff members checked and found 5 items in Hawaii Kai over an hour drive away. We drove over to the Hawaii Kai location and initially were told they were not in stock. With a little insisting and explaining our story they found two of the items we drove across the island for. If it hadn’t been for the confusion my rating would have been five stars.
So surprised today! The costco was pretty easy to get through and check out.
Hawaii Kai Costco is always never as busy as Iwilei. Also has more selection of clothing.
Best overall and consistent deals for food, especially dairy and meat son the island. Avoid Friday afternoon and the days before a holiday. Lunchtime can be busy.
Best Costco in the inland, plenty parkingNot crowded
Always good service and very humble staff ☺️
Less busy than the Iwalei store but doesnt have a have a gas station.
Good customer service and well-stocked and maintained location. Staff is excellent at sanitizing carts and crowd management to ensure safe shopping. They are also great at social distancing and mask wearing standards that are so critically important right now.
Horrible experience. Will never have a Costcos card.
Its Costco. I hate going there, but Im glad I can when I need to.
Always shop here...great organic food items
Around vacation in Hawaii tired of all the high prices of all the restaurants around.Decided to make a few meals for our selves, wow with eggs at $8.59 for five dozen is wonderful.
Busy. Crowded. Service is very good. Checkout fast. Prices cant be beat if it fits your need. However, it is easy to leave with more. Inexpensive, but good quality goods, as in local style aloha shirts and macadamia nut snacks. Passport photos quickly made and inexpensive. Recently started accepting Visa credit cards. Access and parking are excellent except at busiest times.Update June, 2020: The Costco experience during the COVID-19 pandemic. EVERYONE was there today! Good to see management practices for social distancing, staff protection and minimizing interpersonal contacts. However, this necessitated long wait lines outside that stretched to the back end of the building. The wait wasn’t long as groups were frequently let in while others exited. A sign listed popular items that were out of stock. The entrance wasn’t crowded with people going in and out. Most customers were patiently accommodating that helped create a relaxing atmosphere. Inside was very nice and calm with open space to easily maneuver a cart. More cashiers were open than at pre-pandemic resulting in short wait times.
I usually find what I need in bulk at this place. Regrettably, though, Ive been here several times and they still dont have gloves, alcohol, sanitizing spray/ wipes (at least all the times I went). But, still a good place to shop to buy in bulk! Huge time and money saver if you have a big family.
Everything very clean and neat. Their cart is always clean and organized.
Im a happy shopper at Costco. Quality products...wish I had more storage space at home to accommodate double buying products.
Always a great experience at our local Costco. Theyre like part of the family.
Costco optical has some real heroes working there. Fixed my glasses and kept them working while Im on the long waiting list to see the optometrist. Glasses were misaligned giving me severe headaches. Thank you guys so much.
Great variety of items. Fair prices. Not to crowded. Always ample parking. Great place to shop!! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a wholesale club!👍
It is by far the best place to shop in East oahu
Be prepared to spend big$.
Best buy for bulk volume!
Costco at Hawaii Kai has a better selection, feels like a larger warehouse. Long checkout lines though, especially on weekends.
My shining star of retail. The first choice for everything they sell. Always solid quality at very good prices. No bad surprises.
The best place for bulk items. Great merchandise at low prices. May be a bit crowded at times.
Hawaii Kai Costco is less crowded and pleasant to shop
This costco is awesome. They literally always have things in stock that I personally need. Never disappointed when I go there.
Everyone here seems very nice
Reliable. Love that we can stop while traveling. Wonderful sushi trays
My favorite Costco on this island. It is busy, but has everything you would expect to find in Costco. The staff are very courteous and helpful. I go there regularly.
Kinda love this place. It is hard to beat their prices. Store is run just ok. Not the friendliest Costco store I have been to.
Normally shop at Iwilei store but I happen to be early for an appointment in the Hawaii Kai area. I was just going to browse. Did not plan to go shopping. Found a few bargains that I could use. Purchased a cooler bag which I could use for traveling AND a place to store the 4 small item I purchased that day. Also found the sales person that I normally dealt with for years in the cell phone kiosk. He had transfer stores.
Associate Alan really helped me out. Locked my keys in the car and he allowed me to use his cell to call a family member to come down with a spare key. He was a life saver! Truly so thankful.
Way better than Alakawa St Costco. Better customer service! Employees are super friendly & helpful. Hardly any wait in line at check out.
I had a wonderful shopping experience this afternoon. I want to especially commend the store associate Beau for his excellent customer service and product knowledge. He also helped me find my lost shopping partner!
Best costco on oahu
I just want to say that Jeremy was awesome yesterday, he went above and beyond helping me!!!I locked my keys in my car with my mask and phone. In 2020 no mask is a big deal. Jon who works outside wasn’t nice and rude. He did let me use his phone to call AAA but was extremely rude and not helpful at ALL. The manger on duty was rude. He didn’t want to help me with my situation either. Both of them made a bad situation worse.I’m thankful Jeremy was there and listening to the conversation and took initiative to help me. He was understanding of a really terrible situation that a young female could be in. Thank you again for helping me and being nice to people. Help and kindness go a long way!
Very crowded at 10:30-11:45 am on a Wednesday. And only few registers open. People didnt practice safe distancing (although for some areas it couldnt be helped) They limited number of people entering the walk-in refrigerated vegetables/fruits but not where the refrigerated walk-in where eggs were. Usually, there are staff that coordinates check-out lines but this time there were none so it was a bit hectic for many. Nevertheless, the staff were nice and I appalude their firmness to those not paying attention to safety spacing.
Great place to shop when you are buying bulk quantities
Best Costco on Oahu! Wasnt crowded at all on Thursday evening. The cashiers are very helpful with boxing up our groceries too.
Went there to buy a CalKing Bed set all out....darn it...and way to crowed to much people...Worst than Windward Mall
Done great work in keeping us safe
A must for daily lives. Customer service is awesome.
You guys always have neat new products and food items! I love shopping with you!!! I appreciate you protecting me from non compliant customers who don’t wear their mask! Awesome job guys!!!
The optical department here was great. Excellent customer service!
Lots of variety. Miss the samples. Can use SNAP.
Everything you need! Who doesnt love costco? Come on now!
Always good, great place to shop if you can use everything you purchase. I have shopped at Costco all around the US and appreciate how they attempt to utilize local products and provide specialty foods eaten locally such as poki in Hawaii, locally made tamales in Arizona and Alaskan seafood in Alaska. Yummy.
Had a great experience with getting tires on my Chevy Avalanche today they even put the spare back up under the truck which is not an easy task. Thank you very much guys great job
Highly recommend every1 go place got the best customer service n everythings was easy to finds.
Self checkout cant go wrong.
Ha ha ...Yes!You need to wear a face mask to enter and a Costco membership card.Heads up! No more 1 day guest shopping cards issued here. I have a Costco membership card. There was a line, but I didnt have to wait too long to enter maybe 5-10 minutes. My favourite bulk beef steak price has gone up nearly 2 dollars in 1 week! I bought all my grocery items on my shopping list.Unfortunately, if I was looking for toilet paper,& paper towels they were out of stock today. Luckily, I bought toilet paper and paper towels 1 week ago here.
Friendly staff, covid precautions and great prices for items in bulk. My favorite thing to buy here is meat and cheese!
Hawaii Kai Costco parking sucks but its so easy shopping inside
Paper supplies. They are always out of latex gloves.
Shopping at this Costco location has always been 👍👍. Good staff and friendly for most of the time, especially, during this challenging Pandemic time..
Always great things found here,
We enjoy going to Costco as a whole. Weve been going more often than our usual 1x per month during the pandemic. I would like to caution folks about the packaged fresh corn on cob. Although it looked fine through the transparent part of the packaging, once opened the corn on cob was not fresh. The ends of all the cobs were moldy and/or mushy looking, and after cutting the kernels in affected area parts of the cobs looked blackish.
Nope! Any place that does Not allow well-behaved pets on a leash gets an “F” from me.
Love Costco... I have been an executive member for a long time. This store in particular is friendly and pleasant. I was particularly impressed by a member of your management team named Jennifer who goes the extra mile. Thank you for being open in these trying times.
Great foods but sometimes price tag shows wrong price.I miss the organic plantain chips
Awesome as always 👏
