The oatmilk latte was pretty good, but the reason for the 4 stars is the service. Not sure if they were down a person the day I went but they were very inefficient. I waited about 20 minutes for my drink. I would go again in the service improves!
Really good drip and lattes. Smaller shop on a side street in Waikiki. Highly recommend this location especially since some of the other shops have crazy long lines...Finding good coffee on this island has been difficult, which is a bummer.
By far my most favorite place in Waikiki. The coffee beans used is of prestine quality. The smoothies are the freshest (sesame banana is so good!) The breakfast sandwiches....this is the only place Ill spend $8-9 on a breakfast sandwich and buy more than one to eat! Theyre so amazing!!! The papaya boat is the most refreshing fruit bowl on the island!! My girlfriend and I are obsessed with this place and we are so lucky to live on the other side of the building!! I wish I could give this charming place a 10 star review!!
Wonderful people ! 🤩 And very fast serving and very well attended ;) coming back hereCoffe Shop 831 ! EXCELLENT SERVICE
Great coffee! They have a good selection of beans to try, locally grown. Would go here anytime
Cute Cafe with moderately priced breakfast options. It reminded me of the north shore than Waikiki with its eccentric decorations and focus on fresh fruits and vegetables. Prices were still the same range as a hotel breakfast place, but this place has the character and comfort that most hotel restaurants lack.
I got a green smoothie and a matcha latte here. The smoothie was mediocre, and the matcha latte was 95% milk and very watered down. We waited about 20-25 minutes for our food. Cute local shop, but don’t get the matcha here.
My Latte was excellent, my wife ordered a caramel macchiato and it was also just right for her. We had the Papaya Boat... it is the perfect Hawaiian Breakfast! Kiwi, banana, and strawberry slices on a chia and granola bed drizzled with honey and coconut on a sweet papaya halve garnished with mint. The staff is tickle happy and they even waited on us after making our coffees. The is plenty of seating and a confy couch. The feel is very surf shack like space with soothing colors and uncluttered.
Solid food and coffee at decent prices.
First visit and food was delicious but a bit expensive when feeding four people.1. Super charged “bulletproof style” coffee double shot of espresso with coconut oil and cinnamon was awesome but pricey at $6/cup.2. Papaya boat was Amazing-fresh, fresh, fresh. I could have eaten two!3. Kids loved the maple, egg and bacon English muffin and egg and cheese English muffin.4. Freshly made OJ another delicious item.Four people, four drinks, two papaya boats and two sandwiches cost $54. Amazing fresh food for the price. I will go back again!
Best pour over I’ve found so far in Waikiki! The beans are expensive but totally worth it. I recommend the Morning Glory is excellent and slightly sweet.
Very unfriendly service when I visited. Maybe they were just having an off day, but no greeting when I walked in, and stood at the register for several minutes before being acknowledged. Decent pour over coffee and good variety of beans to choose from.
Would like to try it💖Never answers the phone🤔No voicemail🤯I’ve never been able to find the place😜If they’re still in business, I would like to know about it🙏
Get the pipeline burrito. Best breakfast burrito Ive ever had!
After a week of exploring Wakiki and coffee shops, once or twice every morning, I stumbled across this little gem. The coffee is rich and very well made, the employees are incredibly sweet, and the food was delicious. I really enjoyed sitting here for almost two hours reading my book, chatting with company, and sipping on coffee. I tried the Captain Roys Boat (papaya, tapioca, granola, strawberries, banana, and kiwi), an Americano, a black coffee, and a latte. All were superb. Not to mention the charitable bottle cap drive and reusable messages in this happy shop - this place is perfect if you want sit it and your morning or are in a rush and need quality joe on the go.
Summary: Decent coffee/food, over-priced even for Waikiki, oddly stingy with lids and utensils. The coffee is nothing special, especially not for the price, this is from a former barista. The food is nice, no complaints here. The weird part which led to a 3 star is that my pour over coffee literally had no lid and was cold by the time my food was ready and when I picked up the food she asked do you need a fork with that?. Uh no I was just planning to eat the papaya bowl with my hand, yes I need a fork you dunce. Based on some stuff I saw on the walls in there, the owners or their daughter seems very interested in eco friendly practices (ok no issues there), but dont skimp out on customers who youre charging $7 for a cup of coffee and $10 for some fruits in a box.
Come here instead of waiting in line across the street at Kona Coffee Purveyors. Absolutely no wait and they have multiple 100% Hawaiian coffee pour over options to choose from.
Here for vacation and a friend suggested I check out Coffee Shop 831 for a tasty breakfast. Im glad I followed their suggestion and did. This little shop is conviently tucked away off the main path. Their breakfast menu consisted of paninis, bagels, and other breakfast items. I went for the bagel breakfast sandwich with avacados and a cup of coffee. The ingredients were fresh as I watched them crack an egg for my sandwich.Im not sure when Ill be back in Honolulu, but Ill make sure I come back.
Papaya bowl - 10/10 would recommend. Wish I found it earlier.
Totally taken advantage of. Charged $4 for a side of almond milk. That plus a small/frozen axis bowl for $18...ridiculous. Wanted to support a cool looking small biz, but can’t go back after that
AMAZING!!!Their entire menu is awesome. The Papaya Boat and Acai Bowl are out of this world.Arigatou gozaimasu!
Great little local surf cafe. I had the acai bowl that was awesome!!!! But I hear the breakfast sandwiches are the best in Waikiki. Definitely gonna go again before a surf and after!!
Support local locally-owned delicious coffee and smoothies + light breakfast this place is a Hidden Gem in Waikiki you must try
Best papaya bowl (“papaya boat”) I’ve ever had! Great little spot in the city, that is perfect for a light breakfast. 5/5 stars! Just be aware that it can be a bit pricey, but definitely worth it!
Excellent coffee great breakfast sandwiches. Chill local feel. Interesting art displayed. Staff is very attentive and the locals are all super friendly
Absolutely wonderful. As a tourist, you seldom want to repeat restaurants, however we just had to come here at least 4 times during our stay in Honolulu. The drip coffee alone is enough to get you in the door, as it is so delicious. Definitely try the pour over coffee and you wont be disappointed. There are about 10 different kinds of beans all grown in the islands and each cup is prepared by hand to give you a cup that is so good that adding cream would ruin it. The breakfast sandwiches are also very good, and filling despite looking small at first glance. To top it off, they are very eco-friendly, which is hard to come by in the coffee world. They serve water in these neat copper cups, give you mugs instead of disposable one use cups, and have stainless steel straws for use and purchase. There is also a neat jar where you can recycle bottle caps to be made into wheel chairs. Also make sure to bring your own cup for a slight discount.Friendly people who care about their product and the experience of their costumers make this hidden gem one of the best things we did while in Waikiki.
Best coffee in Waikiki. Especially if you appreciate a good pour over. The Americano and brewed coffees are also very good. They even have a sign telling you what is in the days brewed coffee.
Yummy breakfast sandwiches, though a bit on the small size. Friendly service, decent food prices.
Great cozy little coffee shop. Pricey but you get what you pay for! Fast service and excellent food and coffee!
I love this place!! The coffee is great! I tried the one from Maui and it was super delicious! Atmosphere is perfect - chill, people reading, surfing on the quiet TV, couch, tables, and they even have breakfast options. So much better than corporate in and out coffee shops.
Absolutely amazing coffee shop. Very friendly, and great coffee! I got the Kona Peaberry pour-over and it was the best one Ive had on the island yet. Additionally, they have the best prices for bagged coffee on the island. Almost $20 less than the other big named shops in the area!
Pretty good, clean, hip vibe without being hipster. Pretty decent selection, and staff are very nice. Definitely paying the island markup but if youre in the neighborhood for something fresh not fried food this is a great spot. They do have one little table that seats 2, 4 if you ask for extra chairs. Dog friendly! The swing as a miss comes with their Tiramisu which wasnt remotely like tiramisu... it was edible but doesnt remotely resemble the dessert by the same name. Still a nice spot.
My 17 year old son and I went to this place and it was very quaint and very personable we learned all about making pour over coffee buying different types of coffee beans coffee it was so much fun choosing a type of local coffee bean! What a great fine we just stumbled upon this place.
Nice little coffee shop with fun decor, great coffee, tea, and foods like sandwiches and bowls. Would definitely go again
Cute coffee spot with lots of pour over choices.
Went there a couple times while waiting for a diving shop across the street. Surprisingly good coffee shop with a lot of high quality options for food and nice people and atmosphere.
Fantastic spot for vegan and gluten free eats! Loved the vegan mousse and papaya boat. Such a fun spot to enjoy treats and coffee after a day at the beach.
Amazing coffee, great service and awesome atmosphere
Great little coffee shop tucked away off the main street. Good coffee and breakfast sandwiches.
Very nice food and delicious coffee! We had a great time there :)
What a great little find off the main strip! Delicious food and coffee!
Really really really nice staff. Had the gluten free turkey sandwich, was made from scratch and excellent. Also give the Apple, Kale, Spinach, Celery, Banana, Kiwi smoothie a try - awesome
Living in Waikiki for a few weeks, and this is one of the best coffee shops here! It can be easily missed from the street so look left when turning on Nahua and walking toward the canal (away from Waikiki beach).Highly recommend the Honey Spice Latte (ginger, cinnamon, turmeric, cloves) or the Super Charge Coffee (bulletproof coffee with coconut oil instead of creamer). They also make some of the best breakfast sandwiches ( 831 sandwich is my fav) and a super tasty papaya bowl (fruit bowl served in a papaya boat).I wish I had found this place sooner, because I would have spent less time at sub-par coffee shops that serve mediocre coffee and breakfast. The atmosphere is great, and they offer outdoor seating as well as working spaces, and a cozy couch.831 is owned by the sweetest lady, and the employees are all amazing. They take great care of everyone who comes in. They are environmentally / ocean friendly, use reusable straws, encourage customers to bring their own mug if taking away, and use local and sustainable products.Im not vegan, but they do offer some vegan options for anyone looking. These are just a few things that make this place rock.
I was attracted by the cute sign on the corner and Im so glad I followed it! Super cute place with very good strong cold brew!
Expensive for what it was.Strange that they don’t service açaí till after 1030- we we’re there a little before but wouldn’t serve us one- they still had the blenders running (which hinder ambience in their dining room a little) so not sure why they wouldn’t oblige. I’m sure they have a reason...
Coffee was good but service was extremely slow. Seems like they need a better ordering system in place. The man before me ordered an iced coffee and took him more than 20 minutes to get it.
Very peaceful and fun coffee shop serving very tasty coffee and some sweet treats! 😋
Nice, relaxing and original atmosphere, friendly staff and a good assortment of food. I went a couple of times in the morning to relax before an eventful day.
Their service is very slow and the food lacks taste. Its over priced and the quality of the ingredients isnt the best. Also, the place is small and the sitting arrangements are too closed together.
Copped me a great pour over and breakfast sammie. I very much appreciate the local good vibe and eco friendly, loving, intentional, essence that’s in here.
I really like this place, local and friendly service with different options for coffee lovers. Perfect place to thrive in for a new business.
Friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere..such a great morning coffee spot. Highly recommend it!
Very friendly and quick! I really recommend coming here!
The staff was friendly and made an awesome açai bowl.
The best coffee in Waikiki.Friendly staff, earth conscious, not a chain. Well priced.Add this place to your regulars
Stayed in the hotel next door our first night and have walked here from our other hotel every morning since! The staff are adorable, top notch bagel breakfast sandwich, and special Hawaiian super charge coffee made with coconut oil and sprinkled with cinnamon 😍
Delicious coffee! Umaiiiiiii~ Like others say, pretty chill place. There are 2-3 seats outside and a table for 2 by the window otherwise its inside seating without a view. Friendly staff.
Price healthy yummi choice on Wakiki. Papaya Acai bowl is delicious. Caramel macchiato is the best
Nice friendly and simple breakfast. Takes credit/debit and cash. Come back quite often.
Had their Mocha frappe.❤ havent had it yet but their acai bowls 😍😍😍 looks sooo ono. Next time🤙
Delicious coffee, friendly staff, and chill atmosphere where you can just relax for awhile!
Came for brekkie on a weekend.. tried to order an açai bowl but they don’t serve until after 1030?... strange considering it’s on their menu and they close at 1. Had a panini and a papaya chia bowl. Both were nice- thank you
Sweet little local shop off the beaten path of Waikiki.
Cute coffee shop. The payava boat is delviojsd
Got a kamaaina discount Too! Love the free pickles and stickers♡ banana smoothie was so #ono onolicious ♡
Nice local business with excellent coffee and a pleasant atmosphere for working or hanging out.
Nice little place, more on the pricey side.
I looove super charge coffee! And fresh fruits smoothy ! Thank you natsuko and friendly staffs for sharing ALOHA!!
One of the best cafe in Waikiki, friendly and a very clean and quiete place to hace coffee, with sweets. Most try papaya boat
Cute place with local coffee, friendly staff! Best coffee place we found so far in waikiki
Lovely place, lovely people, very good food and coffee!
Tasty breakfast and great specialty coffee.Ultra friendly staff - been chatting with the cook about European history...
It is great coffee and the staff is great and friendly. You gotta go and have a coffee here
What a let down! Got there at 7am and nothing was ready to take away. The guy in the kitchen was super rude and then they burnt my coffees. Would not recommend!
Good small coffee and eats place
Gotta rate this place down. Looking forward to a local breakfast. Closed for a staff meeting. Why not split the training into 2 shifts and keep the restaraunt open. When I opened the door, a staff member grabbed it out of my hand and closed it.
