We enjoyed 8oz steak w/ onions & mushrooms, scramled eggs, 2 orders of french toast (highlight! Soft and yet firm), salmon and eggs, Portuguese sausage (huge slices), sourdough toast that came w/ yummy jam, bacon, and some yummy seasoned taters. Our drinks were coffee, pineapple-orange juice and hot cocoa w/ caramel & whipped cream. All amazing from a lovely staff.Highly recommending.Small location but very lovely.
I only wanted some orange juice to take my vitamins and I was seated right away after they took my temperature. I was treated with the Aloha spirit from the beginning of my experience to the end. Service providers in all industries can take a play from their book. I was not harassed for only wanting orange juice. Rather I was treated with kindness and respect. I ended up coming out of their with a mug and some food. Definitely want to come back.
I’ve been coming to this little place in Market City for the last 10+ years. I’ve always enjoyed the cozy feel of the place as well as the food. Plates are always colorful and food is displayed beautifully. Servers are always very welcoming, kind, and attentive. The line to wait for seating can get long after 9am, as it is very popular to both residents and tourists. But the food and the service is worth it. One of my favorite breakfast places to eat. Support local eateries.
I always love coming here! They have AMAZING food (award winning restaurant actually.) I was finally able to get my boyfriend in here to try it, and he loved it too. We will be going back again for sure 😊
We went 3 times for breakfast during our stay here in Honolulu. Breakfast is high quality, excellent flavor, and delicious combinations. The customer service is outstanding. Everyone is so knowledgeable about the menu, very attentive, and everyone is so kind and happy. It’s clear the positive team environment they work within, as everyone was helping eachother out. When we return, we will be back! Thank you for a great dining experience!
First place weve been thats really friendly and welcoming. We were seated right away. Weve been in Hawaii for 4 days now so its refreshing to have some great service. I got chicken and waffles. They offered me to upgrade my waffle to the cornbread waffle with strawberry honey butter. Delicious!
Awesome food!! Fresh, High quality ingredients. Extremely friendly staff. It gets busy at peak meal times so plan accordingly. Highly recommend Cafe Kaila!!
I usually get waffles but this was the best breakfast place I’ve ever had I came here 4 times in a row the service was the best service of all time the waitress was so nice so friendly he gave us free cookies as you can see on the photo this is 1000000/10 it’s so great good service great food great price I’d wait 4 hours to eat their.
Great food. Fast and friendly service. The Eggs Benedict Florentine was absolutely amazing! Ask for their daily specials.
This place will always have a special place in my heart and thats why im so hurt that the salad I ate last week with my turkey club gave me food poisoning!! I was dizzy, nauseaus and bathroom issues within an hour and a half of eating there and stayed sick for 3 days. Please wash the salad!
This place is very yummy ! I got a cheese and ham croissant for breakfast. Tasty and simple breakfast to go. I recommend ordering online and picking up because there are long lines usually (on weekends).
Despite the wait, the food was excellent. The Meatloaf Benedict was definitely melt in your mouth and Cornbread waffles was on special... WHEN THEY HAVE IT YOU SHOULD GET IT!Personally, when dining in a restaurant, 40% is food, 60% is service. LETS TALK ABOUT HOW SUPER AMAZING THE STAFF IS! They work like one well oiled machine and theyre one of the most efficient teams that Ive ever seen. With the seating limitations due to the pandemic, getting a table to turn over quickly is essential. They got that done in a heart beat and even had time to refill our coffees and ask how were doing.I would highly recommend this place for some delicious Breakfast!
I have been here 7 weeks. This was the 1st time that I completed my ENTIRE meal and could say that I enjoyed it! Wish I had found it sooner!
Hollyyy crapp. 12/10 review. 9/5 stars. great breakfast, bomb pastries. all the servers were super sweet too! new favorite breakfast place!!
Good food and usually good service, today they made things pretty ridiculous to get in. My boyfriend had forgotten a mask and they didn’t have any, he was going to use my t shirt as a mask (I’ve done this before many times) I had my bikini on with shorts since we were planning to hit the beach after breakfast, and they wouldn’t let me in without a shirt over. It’s Hawaii, I have never had a problem wearing a bikini top with shorts getting into any place, I have a feeling they were just trying to make things extra difficult to find a reason to tell my boyfriend he couldn’t use my t shirt as a mask.We had to go buy a mask at a place next door because of how unnecessarily hard they were making things, and when we came back to sit down another customer at a table across from us had just shorts and her bikini top on. I don’t see why she was allowed to wear the same thing I had on but I was told I needed to wear a shirt over. How they reacted was super unnecessary and made no sense.
Rude staff. It was unorganized to where there was no one at the podium to arrange guests in order to take their name to be put on the waiting list. There was an entire family in front just waiting in front of said podium that added to the confusion. When the hostess finally came out after waiting several minutes she attended to other customers that just walked up that second and I shouted from behind the family that myself and my had been waiting here. She proceeded to explain the policy that you just walk up to the podium and sign your name. I then explained that I understand that now that I hadn’t known before because this was our first time here. Then that’s when the hostess became defensive and started arguing. We went back and forth where she exclaimed that no outside drinks were allowed, that there’s 2 seats available and explained that I understand, that’s standard policy at any restaurant but I had called ahead of time and know there’s a 20 to 30 minute wait. She then explained the same thing again about the drinks how I had to finish them prior which at this point I said that I get it. That I’m just trying to get my name on the sheet to wait. She kept arguing and I just said “You know what. I don’t even want to eat here because it’s so disorganized.” I turned to my husband and motioned him to leave. The hostess said some other things as I was walking away but I had shut down not caring anymore. She was a blonde hostess with blue eyes and a long pony tail. I’ll be living here in Waikiki for the next 3 years but I’ll avoid be avoiding this place. I suggest you do ad well.
Best breakfast I had while on Oahu. The coffee was amazing and I was told that a local coffee farm gives them beans specifically for this restaurant. The omelet was great. Service was great. Will be back next time I am on Oahu.
Great service, great home brew coffee. Tried their special coconut waffle something and it was delicious. Definitely give this spot try if youre looking for a breakfast spot in town!
My favourite breakfast place in Hawaii. Their smoked salmon eggs Benedict is always fantastic! My husband got the hawaiian breakfast plate, lots of fruits and their banana bread is made in house and is amazing!! We got the waffles for dessert, fruits are extras that need to be paid for, but overall a fantastic breakfast place. Highly recommended!
Delicious!!! If youre ever looking for breakfast or brunch in the area or craving waffles, you gotta give this place a try! Im so stuffed after this, I couldnt be any more satisfied! Even their coffee was great! Someone beside me got hot tea and they bring you your own little glass tea pot to pour from (super cute)!
This place was amazing. There was a bit of a wait to get in but it was worth it. Our server was very friendly and patient. My toddler gobbled up her french toast and I dont blame her because all our food was fresh and delicious! I thought the prices were fair too. Very impressed with the food, the service, and the atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
Very good food. The host upset me when she said that I couldnt take my coffee in that I had purchased before coming in, but whatever!!! The food made up for it.
Awesome food! Great staff and I really dug the vibe.... the Italian omelette is killer!!!
I am currently visiting and I asked my friend to take me to the best breakfast place on the island; he took me here! I was not disappointed! By far the best breakfast I have had while visiting. Very cute interior, fast and polite service! The food came out hot and fresh, everything was perfect 👌🏼👍🏼 Will definitely be coming again, and recommending to everyone I know!
Excellent food & service! The roasted pesto chicken panini was delicious!
The waffles are delicious, along with the flavors on the menu they have a flavor of the month, I’ve never had a bad one. There’s usually a line so when you show up, be sure to put your name on the list. Depending on the time and day there can be a lengthy wait (45mins) but it’s definitely worth the wait.
Super friendly..let me and misses slide in prior to closing..didnt rush us at all..attended to every detail..and the food was mouth watering delicious every bite was hot packed full of flavor..we got the Italian omelette with added Italian sausage and the veg frittata..will be back to try more items like the veg lasagna and the loco moco next up!!!
Friendly staff and our waiter was great. I cant stress enough how friendly the staff is. No wait time because we got there early enough, covid policies are enforced, food was delicious!Me being nit picky, wish there was dietary options on the menu since there was very little options for vegans and a lot of items are very close to being vegan. Also the espresso was a lot of liquid and okay, just confusing since it was not traditional. If you dont care about dietary restrictions or espresso, then this place is good for you.
Eggs florentine, pancakes and eggs Benedict were great! Excellent waitstaff and fast service.
Wonderful! Had breakfast there and the staff were helpful, friendly, and fast. The food was tasty!! I recommend the eggs benedict with potatoes. The fruit bowl is also a good choice.
French toast wad very good. Fruit juice, not so much. Prices were reasonable. Staff was friendly.
The wait was worth it. Best breakfast I had in a long time. And the service was great. Five stars.
Awesome place. Great service!!
It was really good steak and eggs with mushrooms. I like this place.
Superb breakfasts and lunches with a local, Hawaiian touch. Most customers choose items from breakfast menu. Customer service is excellent in spite of long lines at mid-morning. Kailua pork Eggs Benedict special menu item was delicious. Free parking but crowded. More available behind restaurant on lower level.
Good lox & eggs scramble, with sour dough bread. Good fresh toast- the single slice side was just right.
Amazing, delicious breakfast with tons of options! Was hard to choose what to order. Had the breakfast quesadilla with veggies & it was wonderful. Side of guac was only $0.75 - so reasonable & delicious. Cozy inside and very friendly service with knowledgeable, helpful staff. Would definitely go back.
Eggs Benedict were scrumptious!
We stumbled on this after realizing it was too late for a Diamond Head hike. Get there early and plan to wait, but the wait is worth it. The fried rice had chunks of all sorts of breakfast meats and was my favorite part of breakfast. My husbands loco moko was super savory and good. Highly recommend!
We get Cafe Kaila catered at my work almost monthly, its the best breakfast food in town! The workers are also so kind and keeping the inside of the restaurant very clean since Covid. Would definitely highly recommend while in Honolulu.
I had the waffle and my cousins had omelette. We were seated right away which is a good thing because I was hungry. I was expecting a line. Portions are big. Workers are attentive. My waffle is good. Nothing super special about it. I paid $15.25 including strawberries and blueberries which I think is a little bit much.
Well be back. Great food and service.
Awesome service! They are very kind and attentive.
I had the smoked salmon eggs benedict and my wife had the pancakes. We both loved our dishes sooo much. I wish we learned about this place before. Tha pancakes are very aromatic and fluffy. The hollandaise sause on the benedict was delicious. The staff are extremely helpful, fast and kind. Would definetely recommend to anyone who wishes to enjoy an American breakfast.
Food was good, not exceptional. Wait staff was polite and friendly. Nothing wrong with the place, just didnt wow me.
Amazing find. Small, friendly and Tasty. Wish we would have found this cute cafe sooner. 10/10 would eat again ;)
This place is sooooooo good! Omg!! We were recommended by the locals, and yes, this turned out great! Food was delicious and service was amazing!
The food was 4 out of 10. The owner or manager was rude. This is the first place we were asked if we had a Covid vaccine or negative test. What’s up with that??? Supper small and crowded not a good experience will not be back.
Breakfast was great this is the best and well worth the time it took to eat here
Good food with wonderful service.
This place had amazing food. The staff was wonderful and friendly. Highly recommend stopping here.
Great food. Small kine cafe. Wonderful service!
Best breakfast ever! Pancakes good, coffee the best, and customer service wonderful!
Great place for breakfast. We loved how environmentally friendly(no plastics! Yeyy) they are and the vegetarian options offered.
Omg...its so worth the wait! This place is a gem!
I cannot rave about this place enough! Short wait, amazing food, and great staff!
Best hole in wall low-profile. My secret not so secret place to go get Great food Waffle eggs Beni perfect, server and Staff were awsome 25% tip WORTH!!! SERIOULSY BEST PLACE!
I went to this location under the reception that they had a plethora of Hawaiian fruits. They had the traditional fruits I could get at my local Publix in Georgia. What I desired was a Pineapple Waffle; for which I believed the concept was pretty simply. Instead, I settled for Maple Bacon Blueberry waffle. It was meh. When your heart is fixated on something particular, its hard to get over it. BTW: Due to the time.change, I had a Starbucks coffee when I walked in. WARNING: No outside drinks! You could either give to them to put in the cooler or throw away. I opted to throw away. I wont want anything after it has not been in my sight.
The wait was a little bit long but we had heard good things. They took covid precautions seriously, the food was prompt and the service was great. We got the veggie breakfast scrambler, the hawaiian plate (fruit and the blueberry scone), the penne pasta, and the special cornbread waffle with a side of potatoes. The potatoes were AMAZING and I loved how crispy and light the waffle was. The fruit was amazing. I dont eat meat and the penne pasta was in a meatless sauce which we loved. Overall a fantastic experience. Definitely make the time to stop.
Gotta love Cafe Kaila! It was the first breakfast cafe I went to when I moved to Hawaii and it’s been one of our favorite breakfast spots. The food is incredibly delicious and the service is usually spot on. They’ve made the appropriate changes to comply with COVID regulations which can make the wait a bit longer than usual, and it can get long on the weekends! They do have takeout option available though if you prefer not to wait. The prices are high but the quality of food they serve is equally as high so you are getting what you pay for.The only issue is that they don’t have a restroom inside the restaurant, you have to go to some sketchy bathroom around the corner lurking with strange people sometimes. Other than that, Cafe Kaila is da 💣!
First time, will be back! Great food and staff!!
