We purchased a 2016 Honda CR-V from Crown Motors at 11260 Chicago Dr. in Holland. Tony VanGelder was our salesman. We initially did an inquiry about the Honda that had just arrived at their dealership. Because we live 320 miles away and could not casually stop by to look at the vehicle, Tony returned our email with a personalized video to introduce himself and tell us about the vehicle. That was probably the greatest personalized gesture that a person could experience, and it didnt stop there. Tonys genuniness and dedication to answering our questions and addressing any concerns was stellar. He assisted with the installation of additional accessories and went out of his way to find a business that could replace the leather on a small hole in the drivers seat. He was very timely in all ways and kept us informed on a regular basis. He sent another video to show us the finished product and we were wowed. When we got there to pick up the vehicle, we felt like celebrities and were welcomed by all of the staff. The vehicle was beautifully detailed and looked brand new both inside and out. Our new/used Honda did not disappoint. It rides like a dream, which helped a great deal, since we had a 10-hour round trip ride that day. We were in the market for a used electric vehicle. While we live 200 miles away, found a Nissan Leaf listed with them. I have always gotten only new vehicles for myself. My experience with other dealers was “OK”. My most recent new car was a 2016 RAV4 with Brad Shook. He did a great job. I even nicknamed my RAV4 “Brad”. That was five years ago.Over memorial day weekend, my sweet husband, Evan, of 23 years went to surprise the family one morning by picking up chocolate chip bagels from Big Apple bagel in Holland and was hit in a high speed collision that totaled our RAV4. Miraculously, my husband was unharmed. I went to pick up my husband and I was trying to get items out of the vehicle and was struggling with the doors. My first call was to “our car guy” Brad Shook… It was Sunday morning about 9:30 AM on memorial day weekend while Brad was up north on vacation… and Brad answered! I mean really- who does that? First thing he asked was “is everyone OK?” and before he hung up he asked again. Honestly, I am moved beyond words by that action alone. I can promise you, I will never forget it for as long as I live.I am beyond thankful my husband is ok. I’ll tell you what tho- I loved that car! Brad was gentle with me about its condition being beyond repair. We can’t afford a new car so Brad helped blaze the used car trail for me. I don’t know how he does it. He makes it seem so easy, but I am sure it isn’t easy at all. Like magic, I have a vehicle that goes above and beyond my expectations; checking all the boxes for my wants (which are extremely detailed) and needs (which Brad knows better than me because he is awesome) and pocketbook… all in less than a week. And again he said how glad he is my husband is ok.Everything was great until three days later the engine light came on. First I panicked, then I called Brad. As fast as lightning, he took care of me and all the details- again. No excuses- just results. He made sure I was taken care of before my surgeries at Uof M, Ann Arbor that was coming up in a few days- Such a blessing.As a manager and business owner myself, I always expect great service and know exceptional service when I see it. I know exactly how rare the exceptional ones are. So here is the thing about Brad. He is humble, consistently does a great job, makes it look easy, all with a smile on his face, asking for nothing in return. He always makes me feel like his #1 customer. I know he truly cares and he has shown it time and time again with all the big things and little things he does. Put simply- the world needs more Brad Shooks!
Kind salesman but not upfront about certain aspects of the purchase. Was not aware the car only had one key which will lead to extra costs for me down the road. We also waited while the salesman went to fill up the car upon purchasing and only found it to be filled half way. Seemed inconsiderate to keep us waiting for only a half tank. Other than that pleased with the customer service.

My experience of buying a lease-return Rav4 at Crown Toyota was a completely pleasant one... how often can you say that about buying a car ?!? I have some pretty high expectations... bordering on unreasonable, but Brad was a real class act throughout the entire process, and went above and beyond for me. I got a great-looking, well-maintained used car, at a very fair price, and so far, Im very happy with it. Brad and Crown have definitely won my future business.
Went there today to test drive a vehicle. We walked into the main building and 2 employees completely ignored us. One of them very obviously could see us yet didnt even acknowledge us whatsoever. The other one I thought was in ear shot of the door but also didnt turn to even acknowledge us at all. I had to grab their attention.I test drove a vehicle and spoke to employees in the Volkswagen building who were much more helpful. But I did find out the vehicle I test drove has been on the lot for 50+ days yet they STILL have not even cleaned out the vehicle customers have been test driving.
I saw this car on the Crown website, well actually there wasnt a photo, but I worked with Tony and he tracked the car from KY and let me know when he had it in Holland. My 2017 beautiful blue Rav4LE is great and has new tires and all-season floor mats. Tony was great to work with, respectful, no games, no nonsense. We made a good deal and Im happy. No complaints. Tony is my go-to person now at Crown.
Crown Motors in Holland does a great job. Their facility is clean and welcoming. The service is friendly and knowledgeable. I went there in search of a used Lexus RX 350. They had the best example of that car I could find in West Michigan. I was very impressed. Go see Craig P. there. He is incredibly personable.
I found the car of my dreams (VW Beetle) online, but located at Crown, in Holland, Michigan. Buying a car there was quite possibly the easiest car buying experience we have ever had at a dealership. I called crown to inform them I’d be 20 minutes late for my scheduled oil change as work is running over today. 20 minutes is all it takes for them to no longer honor a simple oil change appointment. Keep up all the good work service department.

The great thing is that he took care of everything that needed to be freshened up on the truck, a sweet 2018 Tundra TRD. He even sent me a headlight after we noticed it was out. Their service department was terrible. Drove almost an hour and a half to get a vehicle and as soon as we left noticed multiple issues. hands free didnt work, back DVD player didnt work, loose panels in both front doors. When we called regarding this we were told we could bring it in but not that week we had to wait another week, we were under the impression it was because they needed to get the parts. We dropped it off the following Saturday, so we only had driven this vehicle for 2 weeks, it ended up being in their shop for almost an entire month! We kept being told they were waiting on the parts week after week. After they finally got everything fixed they delivered the vehicle to my work, which was very much appreciated, but when I got out my car was left in drive the entire time and we found the steering wheel had cuts and tears in it left from them having to fix it. Next day I had an early doctors appointment just to find out my car wouldnt start and we had to have it towed and drop almost $400 to get it fixed. I understand that things happen when you buy a used vehicle but not a $30,000 truck after only having it in your possession for 2 weeks. When my husband called after my truck wouldnt start he was told we were on our own, they were being nice when fixing those other issues. Now they wont answer or call us back. If those issues (hands free and DVD player) that were not working had been disclosed in the description of the vehicle we wouldnt never wasted our time driving an hour and a half away! I will never recommend this place to anyone. I have never been so disappointed with service as I was with this dealership.

Excellent service. Inquired about a vehicle and received a personalized video with full walk around of the vehicle from Brad within hours. Went in the next day for test drive and we were able to work out a deal. Everybody even stayed way past closing to wrap up the deal so that we could drive it home!
Just finished buying a vehicle here yesterday. My partner was interested in an FJ Cruiser and this one was in her price range and was within a hundred miles. So we decided to drive over an hour to get there Saturday morning. Everything was going well until the first hiccup with a discrepancy in our approval letter that they wanted to recheck. So we had to wait till Monday for the bank to open. We were told the dealer would deliver the vehicle with the final paperwork to sign Monday morning. No big deal and we were grateful they would take the extra mile. I called the dealer in the morning noon Monday which differently became a challenge to reach them. Finally got a text around noon that they were starting the credit check. But after multiple attempts to reach them for updates, I finally got a call several hours later with the excuse of the dealer having to help new customers all day. But it felt like we were just a box checked, once they got the down payment check, we were no longer a priority. We offered to come pick it up that afternoon instead, because my partner needed the car the next morning to drive across state and didnt want to drive her old car since we were already offered the trade-in value. We got there around 5:30p and without going into details we ended up waiting 4 hours to get our paperwork signed. Most of it just sitting in the lobby. Not even going to get into a miscommunication and misunderstanding we all had about a warranty from the pervious Saturday. We finally got out after the dealership already closed. Finally feeling satisfied, we got to the freeway and my partner noticed an issue while turning the car and slightly lost control of the wheel. She said the steering was sticking. We switched drivers and sure enough, there was a clear issue. OK no big deal for now since there was not much to do but cautiously drive it home, and Ill call them in the morning. Fast forward, I call the service dept. today but they dont see the sale in the system yet so they wanted to wait for the sales dep to open and talk to the salesman. They sent me to his voicemail to inform him to notify them of the issue and they would call me. Fine. Waited till after 9am and sent a follow-up text to the salesman a text to catch him up and inform him I left a voicemail, expecting I would get a call within the morning. He replied that hell check on it. Meanwhile, I took the vehicle to my usual mechanic for an opinion and safety check. He crawled under and said he has an idea what it is but had trouble confirming because everything was heavily rusted and covered in black spray paint. Or what the dealer calls factory protection when we bought it.. About as believable as the $600 paint protecting car wash they talk you into. So, waiting for a call this morning from the dealer and finally gave up and tried to call them. The salesman said he was busy again helping... More new customers... Ok so now we know were low priority. I called the service team as I was getting more frustrated with our salesman after an already painful buying experience. They sent me to another voicemail of the warranty-service member. So now waiting for anyone to call back. Finally the salesman calls and immediately starts telling me he didnt feel anything wrong when he fueled it up. That we should essentially drive it off over the holiday weekend. Not something my partner is at all comfortable with as she almost drove it off road already because of the issue. But he assured me he took notes of my issue and is letting the service team know. But now its almost 7pm, several hours later and I havent heard from anyone since.To summarize, you get traditional greasy sales, covered up vehicles, and a very dismissing experience from this dealer. All I even need to know is, will my warranty be honored by a nearby dealership and no one will even give me more than a shrug and broken promises. I should have walked out last night when my instincts told me. We were more than willing to travel to get one of these cruisers and I believe now we should have.

I had a great experience here. After first going to another local Toyota dealer who wasnt willing to strike a deal, I ended up here. I worked with Willie D to get the price I requested on a new Venza. Ultimately, I decided to sell my used car separately rather than trade it in but Crown Motors still honored the new car selling price and was willing to accept a personal check and hold it until the funds from the sale of my used car cleared my checking account. While its a little farther drive than the other Toyota dealer I visited, I plan on driving here for all my scheduled maintenance. Crown also got me a great interest rate on my car loan. I highly recommend them.

I bought my first Toyota a year ago and I have been very pleased and impressed with the vehicle. Prior to the Toyota I have driven Hondas for many years. All my vehicles have come from Crown Motors in Holland, so I have now had experience with both the Honda Service Department and the Toyota Service Department. Because they both have the same parent company I was surprised at the major differences between the two. I have always been impressed with the Honda Service Department, including their comfortable waiting room with free coffee, fruit, and occasional donuts, and magazine availability. I was always asked if I wanted my vehicle washed, and it usually was returned with paper floormats in the front. I felt these were all good signs that they valued their customers. I was surprised that at the Toyota Service Center there is no official Waiting Room, so obviously no coffee or anything else. There is a TV in their waiting area, but only three chairs and a small table in front of it, and no offer to wash my car. Service on vehicle and explanation of the invoice and potential future issues was fine. Very similiar to my Honda experience. Overall, I missed my past Honda experiences, and felt that the Toyota Department was just average.
We had an excellent experience buying a new Sienna Hybrid. Our salesmand Mike V. was easy to work with and we felt no pressure. We were satisfied that we got a fair price for our trade-in and for the Sienna.
I had a very good experience in trading in my Honda Odyssey and purchasing a Toyota Highlander Hybrid. I feel I got a fair deal and there was absolutely no pressure from the sales force, which was a wonderful surprise.When i picked up my new vehicle, the salesman reviewed the various settings on the instrument panel with me, showed me how to put the seats down and up, etc.I would definitely consider working with them again if the need arises in the future.
Absolutely the worst experience I have seen. Our salesman Tony barely acknowledged us and just kept saying he was 3 deep and couldnt do anything. Meanwhile there were other sales staff just sitting at their desk. He knew we were coming and drove 2+ hours to look at a specific car. After test driving we found some issues that would cost thousands of dollars to fix. Their response was take a couple hundred dollars off. We had cash in hand ready to buy. They remind me of the shady used car salesman you see on tv. I would never recommend anyone going to them. The sales manager (Gary I think) did not care at all.

I live in Chicago, so wasnt able to take a quick look. Brian Quist was extremely helpful from the start, sending photos and info about the vehicle, as well as purchasing options. He was upfront about condition of the vehicle, which I really appreciated, and kept in contact with me through the decision process. I took the vehicle to an independent mechanic in Holland for an inspection with no questions asked. Brian was patient and did not give me the hard sell (also much appreciated). I had an excellent experience purchasing this car, and would recommend talking to Brian if youre in the market for a used Toyota.

Lowered car friendly!!! The fact that they were able to service my lowered car that has 2-2.5 inch ground clearance goes beyond what I expecting. I expected a call back about not being able to service my vehicle. But got no calls for that. I’m really glad this is a place where I can trust to get my vehicle serviced without workers complaining that my car is too low for them to work on. Secured a go to place to service my Toyota now!

Nick in sales and manager Phil were very helpful and made my 4Runner purchase an easygoing experience. I went to another dealer to test drive a different vehicle after going to Crown first; I ended up coming BACK to Crown the same day due to having a comparatively negative experience at the other dealer.The staff at Crown did not pressure me or try any sketchy salesman tactics like you might see at other dealers. I even witnessed two other customers explain that it was their first day looking for a vehicle, test drove a car, and went on their way with no harassment from the sales staff trying to get them to buy the same day.This was not the case at the other dealer. After telling the salesperson it was my first day looking, I test drove a car, then spent about 30 minutes at the persons desk repeatedly explaining that I was not going to sign anything that day. Even when I was in my car about to leave, they flagged me down to drag me back in the showroom to explain leasing to me, since they couldnt meet my monthly payment requirements on normal financing. They even had me sign a document before giving me a final price, stating that, by signing I would agree to purchase that day if the figures were right.After that ridiculous time, I drove straight back to Crown. None of the nonsense like the last dealer. I was able to get a highly optioned 4Runner for a great price.The only issue I have now is that I like the car so much I take every opportunity I can to drive it. Even for no reason. That and Im constantly online shopping for accessories and cant stop myself haha.Thanks again to the staff at Crown. I will be referring anyone interested in a Toyota to head there first.
Brought 4runner here for airbag recall by Toyota. They replaced Takata airbag, passenger side, with another Takata airbag. Numerous stories on these airbags not being safe, Google it. Pros: dealership is clean. Nice waiting area with free Wi-Fi and coffee. Negative: 1) oil filter is over-torqued. Asked if technician could loosen and torque to correct spec. Tech unwilling to do, but willing to do complete oil change which is not needed and Bill me for it. 2) tech left me 2 dirty rags in passenger seat, see pic. And 3) Toyota replacing defective airbag with airbag manufactured by Takata who is bankrupt.

Im getting an oil change and tire rotation and they recommended a bunch of other things be done. Its going to take a few hours so I need to wait inside.They only problem is that none of their sales guys are wearing masks. They have them on their desks or over their chins or around their necks. So Im waiting outside in the freezing cold.
When we walked in to he door we were introduced to Derek Mendoza. We were very pleased with the service we received from him and Phil. We were there on a Saturday morning and they were quite busy. Derek and Phil did a great job juggling us and other potential clients that walked in the door that day. We came to look at a Toyota Highlander to compare to the Honda Pilot that we had been considering. Derek did a great job explaining what the Highlander had to offer. We almost settled on the Highlander but in the end felt the Volkswagon Atlas was a better choice for us due to the additional space inside the vehicle. I would recommend the Crown dealership to anyone looking for a new vehicle. We totally enjoyed our experience with Crown and their staff.

Will is the VW expert and was extremely patient while we did our due diligence to ensure this was the right vehicle for us. Loved the low pressure culture and friendly staff along with the gorgeous and comfortable office space where we could get comfortable while we waited for our car detailing before we happily drove off.

Im almost 70 now so I have had a fair amount of interaction with car dealerships and salespeople over the years. The folks a Crown Toyota were exceptional. The business and sales managers, as well as our Salesperson, Craig Pratt, were friendly, professional, courteous and, most importantly.. NOT PUSHY! They suggested 2 after purchase items, both of which were, in my opinion, of value. Another dealership we had gone to suggested 8 or 9 different items to add to the car they were selling.. most of dubious value. Our salesperson, Craig, has to be the most friendly and patient salesperson I have ever met. He spent over and hour with us in the car, sitting in the lot, explaining literally every button, knob and feature the car had. He then told us, when we had questions, to call and make an appointment and he would show us how to do whatever we couldnt figure out. He then said, if it wasnt convenient for us, he would go out in the parking lot, get into a Camry (our purchase) and talk us through whatever the problem was while on the phone. Seriously, Im not making this up!! Car is brand new so I cannot comment on service yet, but I will at a future date.

Love this place. It was the first time I had ever been and I came to try and get the slider roof to my Jeep fixed. The guys there were super nice, helpful, nonjudgemental and most of all straight forward and honest with me. Unfortunately the Jeep wasn’t able to be repaired but I’m hoping to hear back with some sort of solution. I will definitely be returning to get any work done on my car!😁

I worked with Cam in sales to pick out and prep my 2017 Golf Alltrack. There was some front-end bumper damage that he had repaired, and the parts team set me up with all the required repairs. He kept me updated on the progress of their work and, while I had to wait for parts to come in, He called me in as soon as repairs were completed. We started the day never expecting that we would be going home that night in our brand new Toyota. After we were unable to find the used car that met our specifications, we learned that we could get into a new Toyota for less money!Cam was a delightful salesman to work with. He was very knowledgeable about the vehicle and understood our needs as well. Unlike other salesmen (at other dealerships), he truly wanted us to be happy with our purchase. He didnt need to hype anything. Toyota speaks for itself.As a VW owner, I was already familiar with Crown Motors, having had oil changes, recall repairs and new tires done there. So we not only got a great car at a great price, but now both our VW and our Toyota have a home port if you will. Crown Motors is a quality place.The paperwork was completed quickly, since we did not need to finance this car. The Crown team saw to it the car was washed, gas topped off, and everything was ready for us. We were in and out in two hours.This is our second Toyota, but our first brand new one. We look forward to at least ten years of enjoyment. We wanted a small SUV, and there are many brands. But we believe the 2.5L engine is proven to go the distance.
Health and Safety Hazard: While I was waiting for my oil change, no fewer than 5 employees walked inches past me wearing either no mask, or with a pulled down mask.One employee did this several times, so I asked him to take a different route. He responded that he couldnt help it and his mask just keeps falling down. Whether out of spite, or pure disregard, he then proceeded to continue walking unprotected through my personal space for the remainder of my wait.Businesses have a legal obligation to ensure their employees are following proper virus procedures.The behavior I witnessed today was clearly common practice, not an anomaly. I consider this to be blatant disregard for my personal safety, as well as the safety of my family.
We were contemplating a new car and we had looked at a quite a few. We had a truck to trade in and the process was good. We met with the manager and discussed our plans and they didnt pressure the sale of the new car. Wanted us to be sure of the car we wanted. The salesman was new, but he was informative and followed up with us. When we decided on the Camry, the process was easy, friendly, and overall very good. The salesman actually came and picked my wife up at our home to pick up the new car. Great experience.

I purchased a 2011 jetta from these guys in April, and a few months later my brake pad light came on which was suspicious because they had told me that they did front brake pads and rear calipers rotors and pads as they had seized when quarantine started. Being mechanically inclined, I started replacing my front brake pads as I knew they were low and the “front brake job” they did was only half a job as they replaced the outside brakes and left the inside ones. I am less than pleased with the scumbags at this place and will never get another vehicle here again.

Crown Motors is the best Toyota dealership Ive ever been to. Ive been having issues with my 2019 corolla since I got it. I was taking it to a dealer closer to my house that did nothing for me. without going into extensive details, the other dealership was completely useless to me, having gone in 6 times for them to ultimately tell me they would refuse to work on my car and that I should go somewhere else. I tried Crown Motors and got excellent and friendly service from Montrell, and met with Rob the technician who listened to my needs and fixed my car quickly and efficiently. Service I have been looking for, for a long time and finally received at my new favorite Toyota dealer. I recommend them to anyone.
