These guys are hands down the best in West Michigan. They are friendly and have a good staff on deck. I came in to get my resonators welded and they got me in and out. The welds were phenomenal. Highly recommended + very knowledgeable! I would come back here on all my exhaust repairs & welds!

I took a chance on a Saturday to see if they were open because I was having wheel problems and even though they werent open there was somebody there and he helped me out. I ended up leaving my car there and they worked on it on Monday and called me with the problems sent me pictures of what was going on and fixed the issue and also fixed another problem I was having with my car. And I feel their pricing is pretty fair if not cheaper then the place I usually bring my cars to.

Solid employees, quick explanation by me of my issues and a quick resolution was provided. Exhaust repair was clean and sound.

Ive used Hanks auto for about 6 years now. I have never EVER had an unfriendly experience there ... EVER. They and the owner are the absolute nicest people to deal with. Most importantly, they are the most honest business ive dealt with. Very upfront with labor and costs. They take me out to their shop to show me exactly what is wrong and what they need to do to fix it. Very knowledgeable and very very fair. And regarding cost, they are the least expensive shop in Holland. Ive priced work out in the past and they are consistently MUCH less expensive than the alternatives. Excellent shop and very VERY highly recommended.

Those guys are awesome! I called because my car started making a crazy noise in the front end. They got me in first thing to look at my car. It was an easy fix! I do hospice work so I would have had to rent a car and/or reschedule my day if they hadn’t been so kind! I called several other places who didn’t have the time to even look at it. I brought in my BMW to have a bung welded into my exhaust for my wideband, and they were extremely friendly; Lance and another man I didn’t catch his name. I’ve never taken this car in anywhere to have any work done but I decided to take a chance. The two that did the work were very helpful and put my mind at ease with some good jokes. They did the work very quickly and it ended up costing me wayyyy less than I expected. I was really anticipated them charging me a lot more money. They definitely do good honest work. I would highly recommend giving them a call if you need any work done.

Good service and reasonable prices

Called for an appointment today around 10AM and was in by 3PM. My BMW had an exhaust rattle after driving from Louisiana to Michigan. Turns out I sheered off some factory exhaust brackets that needed some serious reshaping. Lance was the only one on staff today and could not have done a better job. He has been working at Hanks for 25 years and the experience shows. He was willing to show me exactly what was wrong and had me out of there in 30 minutes for way less than anyone should charge in 2019. I cant explain how impressed I was and will certainly be back in the future. Thanks Lance!

For the three separate jobs Ive had with Hanks Automotive, their prices were competitive with everyone I called and had quotes given, and their work is excellent. They took the time to explain to me, in detail I might add, what the job was and what they were doing. They are always very friendly to me. At this point I would recommend them to anyone.

This is a revision to my original posting. I had a pretty rough experience recently that has changed my mind about Hanks. I took in my truck for a transmission leak. They fixed it but other things immediately started going wrong. They mis-diagnosed the problem and said they were sure it was the starter. They replaced it but it didnt fix the problem. Then they were positive it was the key I was using, it was not. They finally said the brain was going bad and that they dont work on that so I would have to tow it to a Ford Dealership. They were partially correct but it was just a ground wire that was quickly fixed. The problem I had was they were positive it was the starter and it was not so I paid for a new starter that was not needed. On top of all that they ripped my seat cover that were custom covers and cost me $200 and then refused to accept the responsibility for it, blaming the tow truck driver. I have taken both of my vehicles to them in the past and never had these types of issues but after this experience it is doubtful I will be going back. They are supposed to be a auto repair shop but I was very unhappy with the diagnostics they did and felt like I was being taken advantage of plus the fact that they would not accept responsibility for ripping my seat cover. Not that it is a real big deal but I also had a Bic lighter go missing from my vehicle while it was there. To be clear, they did not try to charge me for finding the problem but at the same time they didnt fix the problem. Before I took my truck to them it ran perfectly. Afterwards not so much as new problems popped up out of nowhere. I used to send people into Hanks for work but I dont see that happening in the future.

I had bad Transmission fluid, and they had a Transmission flush special going on. Apparently their definition of Flush isnt the same as everyone else. They run it till it stops pushing fluid(I did this myself also...about 4 quarts) and then they fill it back up. Flushed!Everywhere else I called and asked, a flush is connecting at one hose and pushing fluid through until the other end runs clean. Waste of $122.The only good I can say is, they are really nice and friendly.

The worst service at the highest price!! They told me they used dealer parts, but used parts from China. Did not fix the problem I came to have fixed, but fixed a couple of other more expensive problems. Still ran the same way! This is one of the most dishonest auto mechanics I have ever dealt with. Bring back Hank!!THEY SUCK

Awesome people and great work. Got my trucks done very quick and am very happy with the work theyve done for me.

Recommended by a family member and friend. I do all my work, period, as I work as a mechanic in a different industry and dont like others working on my vehicles. That being said, sometimes you just cant do it all, like welding and specific exhuast work. Brought my car in, showed them what I wanted, they worked with me and have me a few suggestions, gave me a timeframe and got right to it. Came back later to a lower then expected price and excellent service. Explained and showed me what was done, and I couldnt be happier. These guys earned my trust in one visit. Even came back the next day for an un-related item I wanted then to look at, fixed that for me too easy and fast. Great shop, super friendly mechanics, highly recommended.

Had them weld in two mufflers in place of straight pipes for me.First off I was quoted $150 to weld in the mufflers, rear tailpipe hangers, and I specifically asked to make sure the exhaust was flushed up nicely with the bumper.My car specifically has two indentations in the body around the driveshaft that it’s obvious the mufflers fit into. There were even left over muffler hangers from before I straight piped it. It’s pretty obvious where the mufflers tuck in okay.Instead they welded them in 4 inches up at an angle tucked UNDER the driveshaft.The result was a completely amateur job with just 2 inches of straight cut pipe on each side with no thought of where the muffler and rest of exhaust would end up.They did not weld in tailpipe hangers despite being in the trunk with the mufflers and verbally confirming with the service manager before.I’m confident they didn’t even unbolt the midpipe to try and align anything and they definitely didn’t support it with a screw jack or anything to put it back in place before welding in the new mufflers.IN ALL. I paid $150 for some terrible welds and now my exhaust hangs 3” below where it’s supposed to and can scrape on my driveshaft and rear lower control arms while going over bumps.I would’ve complained and ask them to redo it but it’s just so bad I’m fixing it myself with a buddy’s welder and lift.All in all unprofessional service and poor work

People really try and fix your autp needs but had the same car to be fixed 3times still have same problem..and for a business that cost just little lower not much lower then Chevy or ford dealership you would think they would take the 3% charge that visa charges them not this place they charge you .so bring cash or a check
