The process of renting a unit was super easy and convenient. I was able to do it all online in just a few minutes. They sent me confirmation email with all the info I would need and what to expect when I got there. The unit was clean and ready for me when I arrived. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.

Everything was great. I have a hectic work schedule and was able to do everything over the phone. Samantha was great and helpful and attentive. She answered all of my concerns. It was so easy and went extremely smooth. I went to my storage unit on moving day and the map got me directly there with ease. My lock and welcome brochure were waiting in my unit and it was great. I have been a little on the fence with the whole coronavirus pandemic, so being able to not come into contact with anyone was an added bonus and had me resting assured. Great company, storage unit is clean and I would definitely recommend to anyone. Price is perfect for the unit, and the best in the town.

I obtained a small unit for my daughter’s dorm items for the summer. The move-in and move-out process was easy. All the information given to me was true and accurate. The unit and the area surrounding the unit was clean. I have no complaints!

I called and received my quote along with all the payment information and options. Everything was noted and shared with the manager.The manager, Kevin, was then great at following up with all the information previously collected and asked if there was anything else he could do to help.In person, everyone was prompt and equally helpful.Overall, it was a quick and easy process! I need to update my previous review for a negative issue that occurred yesterday 03/08/2021. I was at the facility at 7:50 am to meet movers to move from my storage facility to my new apartment. Was able to enter through the gate with my access code with no issue. At approximately 8:05 am I tried to exit the inside gate area to wait for and meet the movers to let them in. I was unable to exit the interior fenced in area of the facility. I tried all the key pads which were NOT working. There were multiple customers outside the fence area trying to get in. I was TRAPPED inside the fenced in area. Calling the office was useless since the manager was not there. The other customers waiting outside the fence area was having difficulty calling the toll free number. I tried several times and was unable to make contact. After 45 mins., I finally made contact with a Extra Space Agent in Salt Lake CIty, UT who did not care nor was concern that I was literally trapped inside the fence in area, plus the movers were unable to get in, nor anyone else. Finally, the assist manager showed up and manually open the gate. DO NOT use Extra Space. I wrote a excellent review when I moved in, but being trapped inside the facility is very nerve racking. There NEEDS to be a safety protocol/system to override the entry/exit gate in the event of power failure or issue with the gate system. I could NOT leave if I had a personal emergency, etc. Plus the manager of the site was in Tennessee working at another facility and the assistant manager was over 15 mins. away. The District Manager is even farther away if the assistant manager was not available. I am moving out immediately and using a another facility. I spend over $500 a month on 3 storage units and deserve better customer service.Samantha - Manager was great. We initially went to the 18th St. NE location. Girl there was helpful and helped to reserve/set up on 10x25 climate unit at the L-R Blvd. SE location off of 10th St. SE so when we got there everything was already set. Electronic paperwork was quick and easy. Location was recently renovated, painted and updated. Very clean and organized. I have used this same location in the past under different ownership and Extra Space has done an excellent done on the conversion.

Too high priced. Made me by their lock and charged me $16.99 for it. Small unit paying $110. Before taxes and insurance for an 8x8 shed.

My experience with Extra Space Storage has been very good. The only down side was the increase in price which I felt was too much. I feel I was already paying a worthy amount per month.

I needed a place to store my Truck and Trailer while on vacation out west.Samantha and Harley did a wonderful job of finding me just what I needed even though it was out west and they had to find just the right fit for my needs. Absolutely love how its climate controlled, not to mention, very clean! The manager Sam, was more than helpful with any questions or concerns we may have had. She explained everything we needed to know and was there to show us exactly how to get into the unit as well as using the door/light timers. Extra Space Storage in Hickory is a great place to rent from. Their staff is friendly and very helpful. They make it a priority to accommodate and please their customers any way they can. They have a very clean facility. They are located in a nice location and easy to find!

I have been using various storage units across the country for about 6 years now and this has been by far my best experience. I usually keep storage on average 3-6 months for business inventory and other various needs. They are incredibly clean, great staff, accommodating and all gates entrance and exit gates are code locked. Most storage units have stuff like that anyways, but its something about the location and staff that makes this one awesome.

Sam was very helpful and made sure I had the correct size storage unit.

Love the staff, always quick and easy singnup process. The place is always clean and everything is always in working order. You definitely get what your paying for. Few other storage facilities in the are are just run down and management seems to not care about the appearance or functaniolity of their facility. As a business owner this was the only company that even had 24hr access as well.
