We needed to move out of our rental house and put our items in temporary storage before moving into our new home. We worked with Brandon ahead of time to plan the process.The moving team that unpacked and moved our belongings into our new home were attentive, helpful, and professional, but even they seemed shocked at the complete mess that the team that came to pack our belongings did.Boxes that had fragile written on them were crushed. We couldnt reassemble our shelves because they lost entire corner sections. Dishes and family heirloom pottery were broken and packed into giant boxes that weighed over 100 lbs. They seemed to take joy in doing a terrible job--at one point we unwrapped a single plastic lighter that had been wrapped in twenty layers of wrapping paper in a box with broken dishes they hadnt even bothered to wrap...When we went through the house after they left, there were two closets that were completely unpacked and full of jackets. They didnt pack up anything under the sink or under the stove. They also charged us for packing materials they never used (such as charging us for two twin mattress bags and we dont own twin beds).There was no supervision or management of the packing team. It was like unleashing malicious children on all of our belongings. Herlily did refund the packing material overcharge and recommended we file for insurance reimbursement. I just dont understand the complete lack of management and professionalism in their packing team. You shouldnt need to get insurance to cover mismanagement. I cant recommend them to others.

This was a college move out in May. The boys were moving from one house to another, but they wouldnt get their new house until August, which meant that the furniture would have to go into storage for a few months. Brandon came out to give us a quote and he was great! Very professional. Brandon answered all my questions and always responded to my text messages. The movers showed up on time and worked methodically to move out the furniture. They actually did it in a much shorter time than we were told and we had a lot of furniture. I would highly recommend Herlihy Moving and Storage. Exceptional service.

Our experience with Herlihy was the worst move I have ever had. It costs a lot to move, so this review is a long one, but worth reading to avoid investing a huge amount of money for you and all your stuff to be treated badly.The initial estimation process for our long-distance move was great. Once we were assigned a moving coordinator, things went south really fast. Basically, she did nothing for us. Email was not answered, we had to call her every time for any updates. The day before our move, WE had to call right before the office closing to finally find out when our move window was. When we called, she always had the tone that we were bothering her. She often didnt know the answer, and, generally, we were made to feel as of we were causing her work.The day of the move was worse. The movers showed up at 3:30 pm despite our 12-2 pm window. The actual movers were great and loaded our stuff very quickly.Then we left for our new city, 2,000 miles away. We received no updates, no information, no communication at all. WE called for updates and were told there was no information available of when all our possessions would ever arrive. They didnt know where it was or anything.Finally, very late on the second last day of our delivery window, we were told that our stuff was not arriving for a few days after our window was going to be over. When we were justifiably upset, and asked to speak to our coordinators manager (and, no, we didnt use expletives, no insults and no threats were made, but we were angry) our move coordinator hung up on us.That caused us to cycle back to our sales rep for help. He quickly got us a different, and much better coordinator. That helped a lot. She was great, and actually gave us true and helpful information when we needed it. But our items showed up three days late. At this point, we had been existing in an empty apartment for ten days with supplies from our camper and those folding bag chairs as our furniture.When our stuff arrived, the boxes and plastic bins were dusty and dirty, partially crushed, cracked and broken. It was clear, though, that our items were not well cared for in transit. We did get our contracted delay claim and some reimbursement for two items that were broken and damaged because the movers had wrapped them. Everything else was a loss to us because I had packed it.When I complained to one of the Herlihys about our experience, he offered an additional, but pitiful, refund amount for the abuse and trouble wed experienced by their employee during our ordeal. He made a lot of excuses and, basically, made it all about their company, despite us being the customer who kept up our end of the contract every step of the way.What needs to be communicated here is that to get this token refund, I had to put in writing that I wouldnt post bad reviews about my experience. I chose not to do this, as the good reviews I read are what made me trust this company with a lot of money and all of my possessions. I opted, instead, to help others make a more informed decision with a move. To say they performed poorly is an understatement. We spent a lot of money dealing with their delay and damage of our items. We made a lot of decisions based on their answers to our questions that ultimately caused us problems and cost us more money. When we pointed out these failings, most of it was denied and we got long speeches about their integrity. I didnt see any integrity, professionalism or honestly with this company throughout the entire ordeal that was our move.They may do great for local moves, but for long distance, the experience was horrible. I would never recommend Herlihy to anyone.

Herlihy Moving provided a very timely and efficient move for our new home. The crew was professional and took the greatest care of of furniture. They graciously helped to position our furniture where we wanted it placed. The crew was also showed great courtesy to our needs.

The Herlihy team members did a great job. The moving crew was careful, hardworking, friendly, and well trained. They even finished two hours ahead of the estimated time, which saved me a significant amount of money. I would not hesitate to recommend Herlihy to anyone who could benefit from their services. This group of people have been so WONDERFUL! I am tasked with having three of my aunts storage units after she had passed away. They helped me access and consolidate so that the ongoing cost would be less for the estate. From customer service to billing to the warehouse staff, this company has been amazing. I really couldnt speak higher of them! (The also handled the packing and moving of my aunts belongings for her when she sold her home 6 months prior to her passing. Everything was neatly and well packed. Nothing was damaged or broken when we looked through everything. Leaha Thompson and GEORGE were especially noteworthy!

I used Herlihy to move my furniture across the country from Columbus to Portland. They were amazing. All my furniture arrived in Portland in perfect condition, after getting ghosted by my vehicle transport they were able to take my car last minute and ship it to Oregon too. Everyone was so nice and communicative it took the stress out of moving completely. They movers showed up on time, the staff in the office were so helpful and even drove me home after I dropped off my car so I didnt have to take an Uber. Tabatha especially was so responsive and was able to answer all my questions. I highly recommend Herlihy for any move whether it be local or cross country. Theyre top notch.

The Herlihy staff was responsive and helpful in estimating and planning my move from the beginning. The movers were on time, friendly, professional and very accommodating. My new home has difficult access and, when they arrived and couldnt get the loaded van up the driveway to the house, without a word of complaint, they carried everything up two fights of stairs and several deck levels! And not a thing was broken, or damaged in any way. I couldnt have asked for better service! Also, to my amazement, the bill actually came in under the estimate. I would absolutely recommend Herlihy to anyone needing their services.

The Herlihy team definitely earned my familys trust! The quote was more than competitive with other moving companies that my siblings called. The Herlihy driver and moving team were polite, punctual and efficient. They handled our cherished family pieces with kid gloves. Everything was carefully boxed or wrapped, loaded and delivered on time to Herlihys Grove City storage warehouse. If youre looking for movers who are as good as their word, call on Herlihy! Theres a reason theyve been in business for almost a century.

We had a great time moving with Herlihy. They moved us on a hot Saturday morning in June, and their men were polite, personable and speedy. So speedy, in fact, that we ended up paying $200 less than our quote!I especially liked how willing the men were to help out. We were not completely prepared when they arrive (they showed up at 8:35 within a window of 8:30-9:30), and the men took care of a few final things: rolling up our rug, taking the leaf out of our table. It was a big help to have that final push to get out the door, and made the overall moving experience as stress-free as possible.This was my second or third moving experience with Herlihy, and I cannot recommend them enough. They are speedy, friendly, and great!

Having been transferred all over the U.S. this is the shortest distance and worst move we have ever made. So many broken dishes, furniture chipped, and legs broken off of an antique buffet and table, family heirlooms broken just the worst!! The guys who loaded us were nice but seemed tired and lacked experience. I would never recommend this company!! They put beds together with wrong parts from other beds, and we are still looking for hardware to put things back together. We had to hire other movers to move heavy items to the correct rooms.... I could go on forever! Just think twice before using this company!!!

Chaotic, ill prepared and poor executionHerlihy movers showed up with 3 smallish men to move a 3,800 sq ft house. The men worked hard but this job was too big for the number of people they sent. Then the crew told us they were finished and left. Day 2, I returned to my home and every room still had furniture and boxes in it and things scattered around. The house was sold and this was scheduled as a one day move. I had to call the owner and send photos to prove the mess. He tried to get it finished up but it was chaos with different groups of men who came and went. On Day 2 they made no effort to put the boxes or furniture in the rooms they were labeled to go to and simply filled my 2 car garage willy nilly. They charged us almost $1,400 MORE than the estimate. They had an opportunity to make it right by completing the move on Day 2 but they failed miserably and charged us way more than they should have. From beginning to end it was a mess that we are still digging out from weeks later. They only damaged 2 items and that was the only good thing about this move. I CANNOT recommend them.

Both my wife and I found the moving experience to be stress-free and professional from start to finish. The estimator made us feel confident and allayed any fears we had about shipping our valuable furniture and possessions. The crew, under the supervision of a talented and knowledgeable driver, was very efficient and cooperated well in addition to being friendly and very careful with our belongings. Delivery came off without a hitch and we enjoyed the company of the crew once again in Savannah. We were charged exactly what had been quoted and Jenni kept us informed and communicated in a timely and professional manner throughout the process. We would use Herlihy/Mayflower again without hesitation and highly recommend them.

The Athens staff were great! I used this company for a recent move and they were excellent! Fast, and friendly! I was hesitant at first because I was debating using another company to save money but I am so glad I didn’t. The other company had bad customer service over the phone. Herlihy has great customer service from the start, we’re promt to respond to any emails and concerns, and the movers were professionals, (can’t remember names, but I think Bryan, Brian and Jason?) and did not slack at all on the job! They were running behind schedule, but the office called to let us know that they would be near the end of the quoted window or a little late. The movers who helped us were very professional and efficient. The actual cost ended up lower than quoted because it didnt take as long as anticipated. We were overall very satisfied.

Very pleasant. Roy made the initial visit for the estimate very easy and was very informative on the first visit. He was the only carrier representative that came on time on the first date we scheduled. For various reasons, all the other companies either never called or called to reschedule at least once. Roy made a follow-up visit to bring some free used packing materials that really came in handy during the packing process which we chose to do ourselves.Clint was an outstanding leader in the face of several adverse incidents which occurred during the move. We lost a CDL driver which really complicated the already difficult process in our little town of Vienna which requires loading, unloading, and reloading shuttle vehicles to off-site locations because of the narrow streets. Also, during the move, my mother passed away requiring that my husband, who was already in Arkansas, had to receive the items I packed on the front end while I traveled to Texas to make funeral arrangements. He found Clint and the rest of the crew to be as cordial, competent, hard-working, accommodating, and respectful as I did.I think our move went very well considering the adversity we faced. Jenni was there to tie everything together upon the loss of the CDL driver and when our load went over the limit and had to be stored for a later delivery. We would definitely use Mayflower again. They obviously know what they are doing when it comes to big moves.
