Blackbeard is a great place to get coffee when you are near uptown. They have a wide selection and do a wonderful job of making each coffee to order by the customer. The atmosphere is great for doing computer work, meeting friends, or enjoying a seated coffee break in between work. I suggest going mid day if you are staying in, but it is always fast and friendly service. I always recommend to locals or new people coming into town.

Interesting little place. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. I walked in right after opening and the guys were super friendly. You get a lot for your money here, that mug was huge. I’d certainly go back but I don’t live in the area, so I’ll just have to go again next time I’m in town. There are other shops in town, and I don’t know how they compare, but Black Beard is worth trying out.

This place is a very nice “hole in the wall.” It’s clean, great store front and traffic flow. The coffee is excellent. Nice spot to be with a couple of kids or to sit and study/read. Highly recommend. Nice spot when looking for coffee in uptown Greenville.

Amazing coffee, and the scones are probably the best I’ve had. Try the bacon cheddar one warmed up if you get a chance.

Visiting my son at ECU and ran across this place across from his dorm. What a pleasant surprise! Alternatives to dairy are extensive and better than I have tasted in a very long time. The customer service was polite and professional with a caring smile. I will definitely be back!

Really friendly people and good coffee with a great selection of syrups. The inside is super cute and they even have vegan muffins once in a while.

What a delightful little coffe house. Of course they have coffee, but they also have multiple flavors of tea. I was sooo happy they knew about Earl Grey lattes and could make me one! The barista was super chill and helpful. Well definitely visit again before leaving Greenville.Update two weeks later: I guess it depends entirely on the barista. Oh well. Still leaving 3 stars because the physical place is nice and at least one of the baristas is friendly and knowledgeable.

Blackbeard is such a great little coffee shop. They roast their own beans on site, serve Great Harvest pastries (Hummingbird Muffin is my favorite), and support local artists by selling their coffee-related gear in store, like local potter Erika Gibsons handmade custom Blackbeard-branded coffee mugs.So is the coffee any good? Heck yeah!I moved here from Seattle in 2016, and Blackbeard wasnt open yet, so there were only a few options for really good coffee. Starbucks does not count. If you like Starbucks, this may not be your place. However, they do make a really great caramel macchiato in the Starbucks style.They opened in September 2017 and my husband became a regular while I was studying abroad in Italy. When I got back, I ordered a cappuccino and it was perfecto! They also sell a Cortado which is 2oz coffee, 2oz steamed milk. A great little pick me up without too much milk to cover the coffee flavor.Their style is decidedly more in the Italian vein, so tell them how you like your coffee or ask how their offerings are prepared to make sure youre going to get what you want. They are happy to remake a drink if its not quite what you wanted.

The Salted Caramel Cappuccino was special. It had perfectly proportioned hints of salt and caramel topped with a luscious cream frost. Also, there was a bit of cinnamon added to the frost. This beverage was worth trying even for a non-coffee drinker. 😁

Im new to the area and everyone has suggested blackbeards to me since moving. I finally made my way over there and i went it and the first thing i noticed was how calm and inviting the environment is. I waited for just a minute before the man at the counter greeted me. I told him i was new to the area and wantes to try something new. He asked what kind of coffee i wantes cold or hot, he asked me if i wanted something new or something i could get anywhere. After telling him i wanted something new he told me about a drink he made up with hazelnut, cold foam and espresso. After paying he chated with me and was very friendly. I definitely will be going back as ofterln as i can. Definitely reccomend to anyone who wants to support a small business.

Fantastic local coffee brew house! Stopped by here before driving to Atlantic Beach this past weekend. Definitely a hidden gem in Greenville. Wish I saw them roast their coffee though-but can always stop by anytime.

Snuck in on a cold, rainy day. The place has a welcoming atmosphere and was the perfect place to sit and relax while enjoying a latte. Coffee was excellent, as was customer service. It is definitely a go back to spot for me.

Blackbeard is by far the best coffee in town. Its honestly the best coffee Ive tasted since its locally roasted. They also have the best customer service Ive ever experienced. I will never drink another brand of coffee. If you get your coffee from anywhere else in town youre missing out. Blackbeard is the textbook example of a high quality small business. National chains (you know who Im talking about) are the best at cutting corners and making money. Their products are mediocre at best. They hide behind artificial flavors and buckets of sugar to cover up their lack of quality. Blackbeard has no such issues. Thanks you guys for offering quality organic coffee that helps me start my day without worrying about drinking toxic chemicals.

I enjoy this cafe very much. The coffee is very good, as are their mochas and their baker is superb! You have to try the monkey bite! If you have any curiosity that alone should convince you to try the blackbeard! Its got a homelike atmosphere. Even though the chairs are wooden you can sit for hours and not be uncomfortable. Atleast i can and i have leg and back problems!
