It makes me feel good when a manager is actively involved in the running of a department and even better when they know what they are doing and go out of their way to be helpful. That describes Zach, the Pharmacy Manager, at Walmart in Greensburg. With all the options available, I am happy to give my business to a Pharmacy where they go the extra mile to show me they appreciate my business.
I used to use this Walmart Pharmacy at Greengate but the service was inconsistent and they seem to sometimes make their own rules and policies. Recently a prescription for a controlled item was given, the same that was used for the last 10 years at the same Walmart Pharmacy. The prescription was legal and valid, but Walmart refused to fill it because it didnt have the quantity written out in script...it had the quantity listed but it wasnt spelled out. I was told that they will not fill a prescription without the quantity written out in English. I asked if this was a new law, but they said it was just their new policy, and the Dr would need to be called to verify it. I not only felt like a criminal but it was a Friday and the Dr wouldnt be in until the following Tuesday, leaving me without the medication for several days. Since this was not a medication that can be stopped abruptly without serious medical consequences, the prescription was returned to me to allow me to fill it elsewhere, but the pharmacist had put stickers and written on it, causing a great deal of problems at the other pharmacies where I tried to fill it at.I have had several other errors, such as incorrect quantities in some prescriptions as well as some prescriptions not being filled because the pharmacist didnt think I would want them, requiring another trip back to the pharmacy to pick them up because, Yes, I DID want them. The service before was better in my opinion and the last few times I went there I simply didnt care for the attitude of some of the pharmacists (other were great, but a few were ignorant and condescending) as well as the cashier, who refused to acknowledge a Thank You and other gruff behavior despite going out of my way to be nice to her.Unfortunately, the days of the caring and old school pharmacists are over and now everything is a big box store with the customers being unwilling pawns. For these reasons, I will not use Walmart and will try to avoid patronizing them and will instead shop where my business is appreciated when possible
I do really like this pharmacy, but the customer service when you call is terrible. I called to ask about a prescription I never got and I was told them couldnt hear me (i was on a land line and had just gotten off the phone with my doctor who is in the same plaza) then put me on hold to get on a different phone I was on hold for 10 minutes before I hung up when I had my mother call on her own phone and the same person picked up, while I was wanting for her to switch phones. So I was just being ignored.
Meh,
Terrible service has gotten worse over past few months
