I have been a regular at Books and Mortar for about three years and just realized I have never left a review! If you are looking for a wide selection of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, etc and a competent staff who will give you recommendations and order books promptly and keep you informed about your order, look no further than Books and Mortar! Jenny and her team are so kind and friendly and are always willing to go above and beyond for their customers and their community. I cannot sing their praises enough.

Books & Mortar is a charming book shop located on the beloved Cherry Street. 🍒 Known for their diverse selection, beautifully curated space, cheery staff recommendations, and darling cards, Books and Mortar complements the East Hills neighborhood perfectly! 💛Remember to stop in for a book (or 2 or 3) before you head on your next vacation. 😎(This is also your friendly reminder to stop buying them from Amazon. 🤗)

Cute and clean place. But not a lot of variety and pretty pricey. Most of the book in there are very one sided political views. They sell individual stickers and they are $5 a piece.

Really cute in here! Small little bookstore. When I went it was very crowded and there was a book reading going on so it was a little uncomfortable trying to maneuver through the store and not feel loud or in the way. Seems like a lovely place for the reading community though! I stopped in for a children’s book. They had a lot of really unique books and some old favorites like Dr Seuss books. They just didn’t have any of the ones I was looking for. I’m glad this little spot is in our community! I’ll definitely stop in if I’m ever in search for a unique book!

Well be moving to this neighborhood in a couple months, so this weekend we walked around a bit to check things out. I love bookstores, and when I saw Books & Mortar, I knew we had to check it out. I was not disappointed. As a bookworm, Ive been in many a bookstore all over the world, and this was one of the overall best. Careful selection of books and gift items, obviously a huge focus on the local community, and you walk in and it has a friendly, welcoming vibe. I bought a few items, and Im now even more excited about our upcoming move because it means that Ill be biking over to this place regularly... I might need more bookshelves.

Stopped by Books & Mortar on my lunch break to pick up some books for a young relatives birthday. The owner was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. He and Chris clearly put a lot of time and consideration into their inventory; he was able to talk in depth about each book he recommended. I left with some great books, and Im looking forward to going back!

An amazing pillar of the community in the short time they have been here. We love going in to see the latest and greatest. I have never been in this store. I grew up in the city in which it resides, however; the live reading of the in-constructive criticism has touched me. Please visit everyone here and if you are not able to purchase a book out of their selection at the time, at the very least say hello and ask how they are. True G’s in the grand city. The End.

If youre looking for trashy YA novels that are thinly veiled wish fulfillment for lonely misunderstood teenage girls who need an unstable teenage boy to give them an identity, then this is not the book store for you. This is a carefully curated book-museum where you can buy the works of art. The staff are h*ckin friendly and the books are arranged in an aesthetically pleasing way that draws your eye along until you find the piece of chopped up tree guts that most tickles your fancy. 14/10 would purchase poetry here again

Whack as hell. I saw a total of 3 books that were good after looking through there entire selection. Everything about anything in that store was extremely and utterly politically driven. It was as if the owner was alt-left Mussolini with a mandarin tattoo that has a fabricated meaning, owns a mandolin that has never been touched, and shops exclusively at Whole Foods. If the world was anything like Books &(so edgy) Mortar, any book written by anyone with or written about anything with testosterone would be burned in the streets. Imagine a whole book store being a sign of the end times. It was as if a personal twitter profile was acting as though it was a New York Times caliber source. It is the kind of place that exists for satires hahahaha oof. Gutenberg would have never created the printing press if he know this monstrosity was imminent.
