Good halal store. For the meat orders you have to call in advance and also check while picking if you have specified about bags or size etc usually they can put the whole order together(if you tell them to divide into smaller portions they miss it)Store is clean and mostly things are available.

Prices are very high. Used to be reasonable to slightly higher when it was under previous management. Now there’re no price tags and constantly increasing. You get the same item from the nearby stores usually 30% to 50% lesser price which is what I ll be doing now. I understand making the profit but this behavior is completely outrageous. Hopefully other customers realize and talk to the owner about it. Thank you!

I had very bad experience at this place today. I have waited for 3 hour for my order, and the butcher guy is very rude. After waiting such long time they provided incorrect order. I would never go to this place again.i wish google allowed me to give zero instead of a star

The wait time here is disappointing. I placed an order around 3 pm & waited almost 2 hours for the phone call. Went there waiting for another 30 minutes to got the order. Finally we lost interest to cook.

Management changed but overall really good place for grocery items especially fresh meat. Do order an hour plus before and wait for their call. Mostly. Had to wait a lot there since they had orders but it seems 1.5 hours for a small order was too little for them. Not venting, just saying you need a lot of patience

They are the most expensive halal store.Their prices are keep going up by the new management with out any reason. Very disappointed.

The shop is organized and clean, but there are no price tags written on the goods, So dont be surprised when you pay $20 for a box of Turkish cheese . The prices are very, very illogical!!!!!

I had very bad experience in this place today. I was waited for one hour for my order, and they provided wrong order. the lady in back is very rude. When I said that the order is wrong she snap on me, and blame us for that. luckily her written was thier and I showed her than she stop snapping on me. I would never go to this place. it was my second time that I was hurt in this store.

I do my grocery shopping in this store and price wise this store is responsible and people are very friendly and helpful.

They do not sell fresh meat and when took it back for a refund they decline saying it is not fresh and bought a weird argument saying I exchanged the meat from other store with their receipt .

The lady on the on the back is very polite and nice.The cashier is also nice girl, but she does not know how to count. I got 5 sambosa, one bolani and two chicken legs. I paid$ 20 cash, but she give me only 70 cents back. when I told her she counted back and gave me $3 back. Still when I counted. I suppose to be charge $13.99, But they charge me $16.22. when I asked for receipt, she said I am sorry I dont know where I put it. dont I gave it to you? She looks so confuse. This was not a good experience for me.

Super expansive i bought some mutton i specifically asked the i want goat meat and not the lamb they charged me for goat meat but it was lamb never going back to this place ever again

Everything in Umma Market is fresh and clean. Recently, they cook on-the-spot fresh Afghani breads that tastes very good. You should taste the bread.

3 stop shop. entrance - grocery store mostly Indian items, middle - eatery Indian cuisines like biryani, back - meat shop, they will chop the fresh meat on your desired slices. visit them!

This review is for the halal meat section. Ordered some whole chickens over the phone and waited 90 minutes before going to store. When arrived, they said 15 more minutes. Waited 30 minutes in store and was told theres another person ahead of me with large meat order. I left and came back after 20 minutes and they said they cancelled my order and that I have to make another order. Terrible service and rude, unapologetic and need more experienced butchers who need to work faster and understand how to optimize orders. Wasted more than 2 hours here and didnt get my order in the end. Pathetic.

I had this experience multiple times so leaving a feedback on this store. Every time i visit this store for meat I had a bad experience, most of thetime I had to wait an hour or so, people who come after me would talk closely to the store workers and get their order in mins and still I will bewaiting for my meat to get ready. This is not fair, please give same treatment to any human being visiting your store.Last Sunday I made a phone order at 10:30 AM and they promised to call me back when it is ready to pick up but till 11:30 AM I didnt get a call so I went to store and inquired about my order. Store person informed that it was missed and asked us to wait for 30 more mins. I request the management to take this seriously and respect others time.We ordered baby goat back leg for a family gathering and the meat was so hard and no one was able to eat it properly. However, we got the same meat earlier and it was awesome, everyone liked it.I will think twice before going to this store next time.

Order Online and pick, when ever they called.Today i went to store and order in person around 3:50 PM and i started asking from 4:15 PM every 15 min. Front desk employees said 2 min and 3 min. Finally i asked around 4:50 PM - they said not ready yet - still take some time. But, Some of the people directly ordering in meat session and orders were finished in 10 r 15 min. When i ask the meat session guys about my order - they said ask front desk.My personal opinion - If you are Indian, they dont make your order fast. Most of the times i waited 30 min to 45 min i never upset - these days the employees are rude and not giving response to customers.This is my favorite meat place in town.This rating is only to the people not to their meat products.They suppose to make in-store orders first. instead of cutting and keep in refrigerators and at counters.

Have been buying meat and chicken since the past few months ; but during our last trip, we noticed they billed us more than the quantity put in the packet. For eg: for 5 lb mutton, they charged 6 lb . Even chicken was also charged 2 lb more. While trying to bring it to the cashier’s notice, we were directed to go and speak to the butcher. And he replied saying 2 lb chicken was waste. 1/2 or even 1 lb waste is something we could understand, but this didn’t sound logical at all. We are pretty sure this must have happened the previous times too but it was our mistake we didn’t notice. Moreover, when they cheat customers on weight, how can it be called Halal? We stopped shopping there from then on.

Really unfriendly and unprofessional staff. Recently went here to get our Qurbani meat cut into smaller pieces. Charged us almost three times more than what they should have or what I would have paid at a similar place. We were a regular customer but happy to say we won’t be shopping here anymore after this incident.

These people cheat when you place order over phone. Recently I ordered baby goat, they gave a regular goat meat but charged for baby goat. Avoid this store or purchase directly in the store.

Very undisciplined store. Always messed up orders and don’t pay attention to customers orders. The people in the back citing meat actually pays no attention to what you have ordered and don’t care and keep simply saying sorry and no improvement at all.

Was fun to check out! Not only fresh dates and figs, but 3 different kinds of turkish delight! All sorts of spices and teas! Definitely intend to come back!

I love halal food because they treat the animals better then Western slaughterhouses. I was on my way to visit my family yesterday and passed by the sign. I saw they had a restaurant and I had to try it.I ordered the cheeseburger and fries to go. The young lady who took my order was very polite and well mannered. She seemed surprised that a westerner, such as myself, had heard of halal food.When I payed for my order she told me that they had their own farm where the animals were slaughtered. She gave me a card and said I was welcome to visit their farm. Im tempted to take her up on her offer, especially after tasting the cheeseburger. The cheeseburger was very fresh and the vegetables on the cheeseburger tasted like they came out of their garden.I will definitively go back when Im in town again. Great service and great people. Totally different attitude from every halal store Ive visited

One of the most unorganized meat counters in the area. Call 2 days in advance and they still can not get it together. Changing prices all the time and never having order ready on time. I will never be shopping here until they can get their act together. It is not a hard process to take an order and have it ready or call to say if you do not have it. Such miscommunication and rude customer service.

I usually buy meat from there and when I asked a simple question about minimum quantity why they kept minimum quantity required to buy goat mix meat is 1 lb instead of answering it Manager (cacher) who is very rude gave a odd look and said it’s a store policy and I had to ask couple of times just get a explain... I would say his behavior is unprofessional at best..

I would not suggest this place as the taste of chicken is not great - Also the worst part is you cannot get the desired quantity of meat/chicken you want. When you ask the butcher, in full attitude the guy will respond, “You need to buy minimum of 4 lbs, not less” - do you expect to visit again to such location ? I will not.

It has very fresh and cheap beef, chicken, lamb, goat meet and various sea fish. good quality Asian rice and some produces are also available. There are not much vegetables available there.

You get good Indian style cut chicken and lamb.

I mostly went to this store for Meat. They sold old meat to us and it was completely frozen.

Place is well maintained. But feel the meat is pricy. Also the goat meat was very hard, may be its just that particular batch. As i am new to Richmond area, still trying to find other store.

Very rude staff at the meat shop, even for a single chicken they will put you on hold for long hours, if you request for something you will get a harsh reply. Happend with me so I will never recommend this. Customer relationship and soft words are at the top of everything.
