Been here about a dozen times so far. Great service every time! The everything bagel is perfect! Ive had an everything bagel in NYC too and this is way better. I dont drink coffee that much either but when I do its at Bongiorno Bagels.

It’s rare to go somewhere where the service and food are as equally incredible. The owner is consistently kind, helpful, and happy to both the customers and employees.

My wife is from the Morristown NJ area via Cali and said these are the best 🥯 outside of the city! I like their plain 🥯 with a flavored cream cheese. Fresh made daily. Super friendly people.

Being an east coaster it’s been impossible to get a good bagel - but hearing only amazing things about this place before coming I had high hopes. After finally trying Bongiorno Bagels, I can’t recommend them more. Plus having a pork roll as a meat option was just enough to love this place. Can’t wait to come back time and time again.

Best NY style deli. Bagels are great. Deli selection is great too. I go once a week as a treat to myself.

UPDATE (October 2020):Proper Mask wearing is poor and there is little social distancing but they at least no longer allow dine in eating though they have two outdoor tables next to the open front door. The staff member (who was under 30) who helped me wore his mask over his mouth only. That’s not how you wear a mask!! And the customer after me (who didn’t understand that we’re supposed to keep distance between customers) also wore his mask only over his mouth. Didn’t see hand sanitizer and employees weren’t wearing gloves to prepare food. So disappointed to see what’s going on when the owner isn’t there.In terms of the bagel, well this is no New York bagel so if you’re not from the NY area don’t think they taste like this. The bagels at Bongiorno are too soft and doughy, no different than the rubbish at Einsteins. And if you ask for your bagel to be toasted they barely toast it. I also didn’t like how they put the containers of deli salad in the same bag with the bagels. The blueberry bagel does have a lot of blueberry flavor which was nice.I do appreciate that they have have the usual deli fare like macaroni salad, potato salad, tuna salad, etc. and even Marino’s Italian ices though there’s no wooden spoon that used to come with it. Seemed Expensive to me, the quality declined as did the standards.The tuna, which they make, was terrible. Extremely dry and they put something in it other than celery that looked like parsley. Tasted odd. Whitefish is imported so that’s always good.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Friendly, helpful staff who gives away bags of bagels when it’s close to closing time. Whitefish is imported from Acme in New York. It can be salty but it’s good. My family thought the bagels weren’t authentic NY bagels. We’re from NY so we’re tough critics. I am not one to review a business. If I don’t like the place, I don’t go back. If I love it, I frequent it. But I got to speaking with the owner, Eddie, at this bagel shop last week. It was my second time in. And although the line was out of the door and he was extremely busy, he was willing to talk with me, suggest some items to us, and reminisce about where we were both from back on Long Island. Aside from a couple dozen bagels, crumb cake (that they get flown in from NY), and some amazing cream cheese (tubs of bacon chive and roasted garlic), we got the New Yorker sandwich which is their corned beef on marble rye with this spicy Russian dressing and pickles. it was so good. Pricing is very reasonable for what you get. Service is out of the world. Their reputation is 100% accurate. They have the best bagels and the best sandwiches. The vibe is spot on. You feel like you are walking into a deli in New York. Not to mention, this is a FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS. Wow is all I can say. Great job!

Bagels are legitimate they reminded of the North Shore part of Staten Island, New York Bagels I use to get every morning going to Tottenville. Lox and cream cheese keep it simple and old school

Im from New Jersey, so I can say with certainty that Bongiorno Bagels is the real deal! These are not just the absolute best bagels Ive found outside of the NY/NJ area -- but some of the best in general. Really happy to have such a gem in the East Valley!

This is my first visit. Seeing the line while pulling into the parking lot let me know these bagels were going to be great! I waited in line 10 minutes. Staff are every efficient filling orders and accepting payment. Bagels are best Ive ever eaten. I will be back!

These bagles hit different. They are big and crispy. All the flavors they have are really good. It Looks like it may be a long wait, however they are very quick to clear the line.

Growing up in NJ…we had access to tons of great bagel shops. Here in AZ…it was a different story until we found Bongiorno. Best bagels in AZ…by a large margin.

I’ve traveled the world looking for the best bagels and I finally have found it. This place does bagels the right way. This is the best bagel west of the Mississippi. Never been to NYC? Just go here. It’s practically the same thing.

It was nice to walk in and order a bacon egg and cheese on a roll with a coffee just like I did back home. A little east coast in my desert living.

Best bagels in town. High quality Boars Head meat and fresh baked bagels cant be beat. Be sure to go early because they can get really busy and sometimes certain bagels sell out fast.

Authentic NY bagels in AZ! Steamy and hot in the store but worth every drop of sweat, so delicious but they are closed for vacation July 13-29!!! See you in August!

Hands down, best bagels in Arizona. They are busy because they are the best. They sometimes run out because they are THAT GOOD. Believe me when I tell you, this place is the real deal. I’m from NY and this bagel could compete with the best places back home. Get the BECSPK on an everything bagel or a sesame bagel with the walnut cinnamon raisin cream cheese. You won’t regret it. Those are my 2 favorite items on their menu. What a great family owned business to support.

I had a plain bagel with jalapeno cream cheese. It was a pretty basic bagel. There was a hefty amount of cream cheese but so was the price. It was almost $8 for two bagels and cream cheese.

My meal was fresh and tasty, very friendly staff.

This place is dangerously located too close to my house. Amazing bagels! I highly recommend the Fireman Bagel. This is my new favorite place for a bagel and coffee. Everyone must try this place. They will not want any bagel from anywhere else. Trust me!

Wanted to try a bagel and egg sandwich and this place did not disappoint! I got the everything bagel with egg, munster cheese, and bacon! Then i added mayo, because mayo makes the world better. I loved it all. Will definitely be back.

Love this place sooooooo much!! Everytime I leave a tip, even ifs its just $1, they say thank you that goes along way with me. They have good manners. Besides that, the food is AWESOME! I love the fireman, (lox bagle sandwich), macaroni salad and delicious coffee. Plus when the staff has time, they talk to their customers and sees us as valued individuals....(Again...good manners) All and all .... good customer service and good product, I hope to see this family business thrive for years to come!

Solid bagels that reminded me of bagels I used to eat almost everyday in NJ. Great service as well as they take orders over the phone and provide curbside pick-up. Will definitely come back when Im in the mood for some more bagels! Only criticism is that I wish the bagels were a bit wider and thinner as I thought they were too fat.

Love the bagels at this place. Easily the best bagels in the valley. If your on this side of town during their open hours their sandwiches are amazing, breakfast or lunch. They only use boars head and fresh made cream cheese. We love to come and just get bagels and the fresh cream cheese even sometimes. They have coffee as well, just regular coffee or decaf I believe, not sure the brand. The owner is really nice, head been there everytime weve came, nice local run business with a great method for making quality food. Glad to have them in my neighborhood!

Suppose to be a NY quality bagel experience...not quite. First off this Bacon egg and cheese bagel cost almost $8.00!! Absolutely crazy expensive for NY or AZ or any other state. The sandwich itself is good, although by no means worth $8! And is certainly not even close to a NY bagel. I can tell you first hand because Im from NY. The sandwich is a good novelty for those who moved to AZ from NY, but for native Arizonians I cant see them spending $8 on a sub par breakfast sandwich.....after response from owner I was apparently charged incorrectly, mistakes happen...2 stars now 3 stars.

My clients LOVED the bagels that I brought in for our breakfast meeting. Im so happy that this bagel shop in close to my office. I have been back several times and everyone LOVES when I bring bagels from Bongiorno.

It did seem like a popular, so I thought I’d give it a try. Place was crowded but that’s because it a Saturday morning. Even though the place was crowded at quick and efficient BUT.... the bagels weren’t tasty at all and it didn’t have that crunch when I got it toasted. I had high hopes for this place because I thought it was going to taste like a New York style bagel. That was not the case. I love cream cheese but not a block of it. Overall the place was nice, quick and efficient but the bagel was not tasty or satisfying.

These guys know how to make bagels. Based on how busy they can get, most of Chandler already knows this.I almost always get a bagel sandwich, and they never disappoint. One is definitely enough. Maybe even for two people.Bongiorno is a local business, so I’m more than happy to support them, but they make it easy with amazing quality, so everyone wins.

The bagels are thicc, chewy, with a crispy crust. The sandwiches are excellent. The owner told me he has a water service that supplies water with the same alkalinity found in NY. Hows that for authentic!

This is a must visit! Of course, everyone has a like, and for me, a crispy outside crunch, with a soft chewy inside is what I like in a bagel. This will not disappoint. Bought the bakers dozen where you get a free bagel, and I also got their bacon and scallion, garlic, and plain cream cheese. All were thick, creamy and full of flavor. Again, this place is a must visit.

Hands down the best bagel place in the Temple/Gilbert area. I feel like Im back in NYC. Delicious. Customer service is superb. Dont believe the one-star review from the Door Dash person. Its folly.

This place is quite the hidden gem! The bagels were just how I remembered them from NYC. The folks running it are so friendly and accommodating. I wanted to go today but there was a crazy long line. They are following COVID-19 precautions which is great. That does mean you might be waiting in the Phoenix heat for a bit but they are really efficient and fill orders quickly.

Very impressed with the bagels and the whole vibe of this place. I just moved to the area and this is a place I’ll definitely be frequenting. They actually convert water into New York water and you get that awesome chewiness if a real NY bagel. If you want great bagels give this place a try.

Best bagels in east valley. Owners are straight out of New York and have a device that flavors the water used to make the bagels to taste exactly like they do back in New York. Everything about the food and staff is outstanding.

Ive been wanting to try this place for a while! So I decided that today was the day. So I was a little torn what to order, so I ordered both the Fireman and the Mickey B. Honestly, I dont think I can chose a favorite. They are both so delicious, but so different. The Fireman is rich with maybe just a little too much cream cheese to salmon ratio. The everything bagel is absolute perfection. The Mickey B is so savory, the maple syrup drizzled on the sausage is perfect aint of sweetness. The raisin bagel is soft and delicious. So in all, great first experience.

Not only do they meet my expectations, they go above and beyond what i am looking for.Customer service: they make it as fast as possible from the second its ordered.10 outta 10 score! wait time is only held up, minimally by orders ahead of you... And i dont blame them . the food is amazing so a wait time is expected lol. Best damn sandwich iv ever had. Its worth while. I promise.Great coffee and great coffee add ons... Coffee crumb cake and what not. Its such a delight!!!Diversity with the breakfast and lunch options is a 10-10. Went to pick up an order and as I was paying, the staff member told me that next time I would have to wear a mask. I told him I was medically exempt and he said they would bring the order out to me in the parking lot. The only issue was I had to pay in person so I asked what the solution would be for that next time, to which he stated, then theres gonna be a problem. The only problem is you lost a customer. Not okay with discrimination over my personal health and intimating threats that there will be a problem over a bagel. Completely inappropriate and menacing.

In my opinion this is the best bagel shop in the Chandler Gilbert area. Love the food there. It’s family ran and the staff is super friendly. The bagels are amazing and the different options You have for cream cheese are endless!

Only got a few bagels - but they are the best we have had so far in the Phx area. They are larger than expected, but have the right texture and taste. The everything bagel has good fresh tasting garlic and salt, etc. We will be back, and we live over an hour away!

Absolutley amazing bagels. They tasted so good I was sad to eat my last bite. The bagels had the perfect out side crunch and chewyness. The owners were there and made us feel like family. Cant say enough about the taste of the bagel. They even have the water maker to make the water taste like New York water. Overall it was a enjoyable eating experience.

We have the New Bagel King!!!! Stopped by and had a poppy seed bagel with pastrami, tomato, mayo and mustard. Absolutely the best bagel sandwich Ive had! Bongiornos just doesnt put your sandwich together with pre-portioned refrigerated deli meat, they freshly slice your pastrami, fresh mozzarella, homemade herb Mayo. Do I need to go on? Ill see you at 6 a.m. tomorrow!

Long lines but worth the wait

This place is the best. Breakfast bagel sandwiches with bacon egg and cheese hit the spot every time. No need to have these bagels toasted either as they are perfectly crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. Easily the best bagel on this side of town. I have driven to all the top bagel spots in the East Valley and Bongiorno destroys them by a fairly wide margin.

This place is awesome! Im from NJ and its hard to find a decent bagel joint here. I usually just have them shipped from back east to Arizona but prices have gone up and Im not willing to pay it unless Im having overnight guests in town. Now that my husband found this place I dont need to order from NY! You need to go early in the day because they run out of bagels closer to closing time it seems. I do the drive from Tempe so its about 25+ minutes away. That should tell you something. Five stars for sure! Theyre always busy yet owner still has time to speak to his customers. I love this place! Dont hesitate.. just see for yourself! Five stars for sure!!

Easily the best bagel on this side of the valley. I could tell it would be good just from the look of the bagels as I walked up to order. When a bagel is right, the crust has an unmistakable sheen that I havent seen very often in AZ, but it was commonplace growing up in New Jersey.Ill be going back again for sure as they make a lot of other deli sandwiches that Ive had a hard time finding since I moved out west. To my surprise, they even make Taylor Ham/Pork Roll.The people running the place were very friendly as well.

Ive come here numerous times. Came in during 2020 when masks were required. I had on a cloth mask and was asked to put on a surgical mask which I cannot wear. They said the cloth mask was not allowed, when I asked how the employees had on the neck gaiter style cloth masks were any different and they said they would take my order outside. The large employee with glasses stared me down as if he wanted to fight for calling out their hypocrisy. Lost a customer over something so stupid!

Bagels pretty good. My only issue so far is their blueberry bagel. Im pretty sure they use artificial blueberry. Something is not right. I wish theyd use fresh, real blueberries in their bagel. I wont order those anymore.

Best bagels since NY

I moved to Arizona from New York about 3 years ago and these bagels are amazing! Tastes just like New York bagels. I drove 20 minutes just to try them and I am impressed. I cant wait to go back and show my whole family!

Bagels are always fresh and they have a water filtration system so they can have water as close as possible to New York City water. Arizona water is horrible so this system really helps. I highly recommend this place if youre looking for an authentic New York bagel.

Finally a good bagel place in the east valley! The bagels are fresh and delicious and they toast them to perfection! The birthday cake cream cheese is a fun option for my kids. My only complaint was that it was really warm inside, but I may have visited on a day when their AC was on the fritz, so I wont let that affect my rating. I do wish there was a little more seating though.

The Fireman sandwich is crazy good. Lox, capers, onion, tomato... I could have that for breakfast every day.
