They diagnosed the noise my wheel was making in about 30 seconds, got my new wheel bearing in, and replaced it by lunch! They were also honest with me that the other noise I was concerned about wasn’t a problem that I actually needed to spend money on and I really appreciated that. We are visiting the area from out of town. The air conditioner in our car went out. We took it to Murdock at almost closing time on Friday afternoon. They graciously took our car to check the Freon and found it to be low however something else is wrong. They did what they could, would not charge us and gave us a contact for a repair shop that is open on Saturday.

For a first time customer, the owners were very helpful in explaining what was wrong with my vehicle and fixed the problem in a great timely manner. I am very satisfied with there business and would highly recommend them to anyone who has an issue with their vehicle and I will continue to use them for both of my vehicles. Last night my truck starting sputtering out going up an incline. I was up all night researching (and stressing) about what it could be. I stayed up late researching reputable mechanics close to my job. I had barely made it to the shop and was waiting outside for them to open. I have a love/ hate relationship with my truck. More on the love tho...anyhow Doug was able to get her going back strong again. He suggested something and it was definitely what he mentioned before he looked at it. Ignition coil and he even suggested some upcoming maintenance which I also was aware it needs. I will be coming here for all my oil changes and not some random place who doesn’t know their customers. They genuinely care about customers and they take great pride in their work. THANK YOU for being so fast and courteous to me. It is appreciated.

I went here to get my brake pads and rotors changed, after a little while Doug came back and brought to my attention that my axle was bent and gave me options to see what I wanted to do, so I went ahead and they ordered the part and fixed that too. They got it done within the day and they were reasonably priced. Everyone was super professional and they explained everything I needed to know. Ill definitely be coming back here for future repairs.

I stopped in from out of town to have my air conditioner looked at I was looking for a mechanic thought I had found it but they never even call me back after I called them repeatedly to find out when to bring my car back for them to fix it, but no help.

Murdock and Son is the best mechanic Ive ever been to. I took a car I was looking to buy here, and they gave it a thorough inspection and test drive free of charge, and gave me a full rundown of everything about the car. Very friendly, professional, and clearly showed their expertise. Plus I was given some excellent advice and left knowing that Murdock and Son cares about its customers in a way that is rare nowadays. Werent looking to get anything out of me, they just wanted to make sure I was taken care of, this place is as high quality as it gets when it comes to service.

Very fast and reasonable labor price.

I took my truck to Murdock & Son Automotive for an oil leak, squeaking from the brakes, and what I thought was a ticking sound from the motor. These guys took a complete look at everything and I just had dust buildup on the rear brakes, no ticking that wasnt normal, and the oil leak was cleaned up, inspected. It did not need to be torn apart but we did replace a valve cover gasket and the truck is running great. I can not say enough about their honesty and knowledge . If you need automotive work done these are the guys you need to call and the prices were extremely fair.

I never had a regular mechanic until I came across Murdock & Son. They are very honest and upfront with repairs. The first time I took my Dodge Ram in to get the heater checked, they actually talked me out of a $2000 repair because the problem would most likely happen again. That sealed it for me. I had never had somebody talk me out of spending money at a business.Another time I had a leaky radiator, called them to make an appointment, and they were already ordering the part before I even delivered my truck to their shop. And then they had the truck repaired within 1 day. Repairs rarely take more than 2 days unless they are completely swamped with work.They always called to confirm pricing before starting repairs and call again when repairs are complete. They are great. Everyone from the shop to the front desk always go above and beyond to help get me back on the road.Highly recommended.

I brought my mustang into this place a while ago. The mechanics said that nothing was wrong with the car, until I told them to check the belts. Thats when they tell me that it is going to be a 700 dollars repair. Rude service, expensive, and not professional. I swear I wrote this same review before but maybe it got deleted? Wow! I went to Murdoch & Son today and was beyond impressed with the service. They accepted my late appointment the day of and were so professional with my SUV. They were so friendly and truly care about what they do. It was very affordable. I cant recommend them enough. I will be back!

My trucks demonic electrical system was a conundrum to at 3 other mechanics. It was suggested by one mechanic that I take the truck to Murdoch to see if a repair could be made or the truck euthanized. I am happy to report that the truck is still running and the electrical problems have been cured.

So glad to have found this place. Just fantastic service all around. Ive been to them twice already and will certainly be back.

I am so impressed with Murdocks help, responsiveness AND HONESTY. I took my daughters clunker there for repairs thinking it needed repairs costing several hundred dollars. They found some things that would cost SO MUCH MORE (the repairs are more than the total value of the car) and provided sound advice, different options and didnt charge me a dime for the time, advice or the freon they used. We have used this shop for years. We took our old truck here when we were told we needed a new transmission just to get a second opinion. The $1000 dollar transmission job turned out to be a bad universal joint on the drive shaft. After getting the drive shaft re-balanced (who knew that drive shafts had to be balanced?) we were back on the road without the vibration. Nice people to work with and they have always taken the time to explain what they were replacing and why.

This is the only mechanic in DFW I can trust my auto repair since 2006. Amazing people and highly professional mechanics. They would never give their opinion right away but examine the whole car first and call you to explain what is wrong and what my options are. Never overcharge. Never do any harm to my car. I will always go to Mr. Murdock when I need my car fixed.

Used to be a good place when my uncle worked there. billy Peterson was their best mechanic there. now they only care about money and not true work, timing belt went out and we go over there to ask them to fix it and they do but three days later the alternator goes out and they didnt even check because they dont care all they care about is your return for $$$$ for them. and when we asked why that wasnt diagnosed (that we paid for again) their stupid answer was we dont know....crooks period. OH! and they are not cheap. my uncle was the last good mechanic on this planet, no good mechanic exist anymore because greed is the only thing they care about they want you to keep coming back so you spend more money. crooks.

If you can make the drive out to Garland, it doesnt get much better in terms of great service, affordability, responsiveness, speed, and friendliness. They will not steer you wrong, and they will never lie to you.Update 8-10-18: When I bought my Lexus (used with 22k on it) in 2001, Doug assured me Id get 300K out of it easy. Well, this summer I hit that mark! Couldnt have done it without Murdock and Son. I havent had a car payment in over 12 years. Cheaper to fix er. Our whole family uses them, and anytime I, or anyone in my family, gets a new car it goes to them to double check that everything the dealership said was true. I wouldnt pick any other place to have my car worked on. I have all faith in the hands of these mechanics. The prices are very well priced and they will explain what is actually going on. They wont force anything on you if you want time to think about your repairs, good example is my motor mounts are wearing down but they arent quite ready to be replaced yet and they let me know about it so I can start to get the money ready and they gave me a round about time frame that they will need to be replaced. LOVE THESE GUYS!

I was sent there by another mechanic shop to get my car fix because they do fix older cars. The shop kept my car overnight then they claim there diagnosis equipment was updated that they fix cars from the year 1998 and up now. So I picked up my car and left. I felt me and my money wasnt welcomed there.
