So we had been working with The Carpet House for our new home build in late 2019. The selling and buying process was fantastic. The material was beautiful. The problem only came after the purchase and when I had a comment, I was completely shut out. No one returns my calls. Its been months and I am finally letting everyone know what happened. We had selected a granite style that had various color patterns. The sales rep recommended that we wait until we have the counter piece selected before picking the backslash since color was a huge factor for us. She said she would pick out the tile based on color for us. We did finalize the size and pattern of the tile with her before leaving. Once we finalized the granite stone, the country had been locked down so we sent several photos for the rep to pick based on color. There was no response from the rep until we were ready to purchase. No tile selections or suggestions. The only communication we received,because of where we were in the building process, was their recommendation to wait and purchase after the close. As advised, we waited and completed the purchase afterwards. The day they came to install, my father let the the gentleman in and went to finish putting away the lawn mower. The installer did not show us the stone selected for our opinion but rather went right into the installation process. While the finished pattern and quality of the material was great, the color was a terrible match. I contacted The Carpet House and was told that is what we had selected and wanted to see a photo to make sure it wasnt mislabeled. After some back and forth about the photos and stone, they stopped responding. I know there is nothing to be done now, but Im furious that I was assured something I never received and was brushed off after purchase. I never felt like a priority once they had our money.

We have been a Carpet House customer since 2005 and when we built a new home, based on our previous experiences, we didnt even consider other options. But times have changed. We purchased flooring for the entire house, tile for the master bathroom and cabinets for kitchens and baths. In retrospect, it would have been just as bad to have bought the same or comparable products and installation from a big box store but a lot cheaper.The design staff was indeed professional, patient and helpful. They worked with us diligently and skillfully. One sign that things were different than 2005 was their requirement of 100% payment up front. That included INSTALLATION. When I called to give notice that we would be ready for installation in a week, I was informed that the scheduler would get back to me and they did after a considerable wait. In the end it was weeks and weeks before the installers finally showed up and their work in both the cabinet and floor installation was a major disappointment. Paying 100% up front eliminated my leverage in getting anything done. Dont make the same mistake I did!

I had a great experience with The Carpet House. I had visited several places searching for flooring options and kept getting the runaround and had interactions with different sales people.At the Carpet House, Mr Ray gave me the one on one attention I required. He offered his expertise and was very patient. I walked In with 2 options In my mind and Mr Ray was available to accommodate my needs and worked things out so I could get my first choice option.He did not pressure me to make a purchase but offered good advice to help me with my final choice.My flooring has been installed and I am very pleased. The installers were professional and completed the work in a Timely manner.I’m pleased that I chose Carpet House. The store was clean and everyone was polite and social distanced. I felt safe.

The Carpet House did a phenomenal job! We had a staircase that, after much thought, we wanted carpeted. After some bad experiences with another company, we decided to give The Carpet House a try. We’re so glad we did! The selection is amazing (not just carpeting) and the samples we brought home were great sizes to decide from. Ordering was easy and The Carpet House was great about scheduling the installation. We were having a major renovation and weren’t sure the staircase would be ready for the carpeting once it came in. The Carpet House held onto the carpeting for us and scheduled an install quickly when we were ready. The installers were very nice and professional. They did a great job! When a rep from The Carpet House called to see how we felt about the job, they were quick to help with the questions we had. Overall we will definitely use The Carpet House again! Pricing was very reasonable, scheduling and order was a breeze, and the staff is friendly!

Got cabinets and flooring for our new build house. Flooring was wonderful. Angie was great to work with! Cabinets and bathroom countertops were a complete nightmare. I will not be coming back. Jaime was very difficult to communicate with and we had several issues.

Outstanding customer service and product quality! After visiting several carpet outlets the Carpet House met all of my expectations. Upon entering the store I was quickly impressed with the display of their products (tile and carpet). The floor plan was very well organized, products were labeled by brand and each came with detailed descriptions. I was further pleased with the dedicated customer service by Mr. Ray Heath. This gentleman listened first and then provided advice based on my feedback; he was most pleasant and knowledgeable, thus he made it very easy for me to choose a quality carpet for my house. Scheduling and installation of the carpet was also a pleasant experience, they were able to work with my tight schedule. Edgar, the carpet installer arrived early on the day of installation. Edgar was truly professional and installed the carpet perfectly in record time. Upon completion the room looked great and the carpet feels great to walk on. I had an Excellent experience at Carpet House! I was looking to add hardwood floors to my living room. There were existing hardwood floors placed 13 years prior so I was confused as how I could do it to make it look good and match correctly. As soon as I entered The Carpet House, I was greeted with a friendly smile. Mike Woods took great care of us. He helped me design a custom pattern that would complement the living room with existing hardwood floor. As the manager, he personally set up an appointment to meet at my house to do the measurements for himself and make sure that our plans would work well. The installation crew were very kind and professional as well. They did an excellent job and it looks beautiful and everything was neat and tidy when they left! I was so impressed with the service that I received that I placed an order to replace carpet in my family room and am awaiting the arrival any day now! I would definitely recommend The Carpet House for any flooring needs and would definitely use them again in the future.

I purchased new carpeting for our living room a few months ago and have been very happy with the experience. It looks terrific and is easy to care for. The men who delivered and installed it were amazing! What we thought would be an all-day job was finished in a few hours. They took great care in moving our furniture, some of which is quite heavy, and replacing it exactly where I wanted it. Steve, our salesman, guided us to samples of carpet which we liked and I was grateful we didnt have to look at a lot of samples since the store was quite large. We took home a couple large sample boards with various sizes of the carpeting colors and types which was nice so we could see the colors at home. Installation was great, very professional and a great job. Were very happy with the new carpet!

I found the exact same carpet, with a more expensive padding, at one of their competitors, and it was $700 less than the Carpet House- estimate. More recently, I had hardwood floors installed and carpet installed. They are very knowledgeable and their installation people are very good. I highly recommend them.

I purchased some vinyl planking and needed it installed very quickly. The installers were extremely quick, which I appreciated immensely. In the flurry they accidentally scraped up the drywall but were very apologetic and repaired it the next day after I brought it to their attention. The quality workmanship and care for their customers really shows.

First off, Sylvia and Amanda were fantastic on getting me set up for what I desired for hardwood installation. Melinda in scheduling was great in being proactive to get me on the schedule. The end result was very good but pretty sure I wont be back. Why? The installers were fantastic, the follow on crew, the staining crew, not reliable at all. I couldnt ever get them to nail down a time when they would show. Each day they got later and later. Of course, I had to be there at 8 a.m. waiting. Finally, while the stain looks good, because of his tardiness with getting here to apply the polyurethane coats, I didnt get the 3rd application because that was the same day Carpet House had allotted to bring folks in to move my furniture back. I ended up kicking out the contractor as I was tired of his not staying to the schedule and making excuses for not telling me times he would show. The real FRUSTRATION, I let Carpet House know of the issue and they STILL BILLED ME FOR THE ENTIRE 2ND PAYMENT! Didnt even take the time to send me a detail final invoice or even deduct the fact I didnt get 3rd polyurethane application. Pretty sure I wont be back for next phase of project or even do business with their parent company, Sims Furniture as there seems to be an inability to communicate internally.

The Carpet House mailed us samples at our new location to choose from, took a credit card payment over the phone, and coordinated with our realtor on the installation date. After we returned to town several weeks after later, we were very pleased with the new carpet. They did a great job!

I had The Carpet House replace about 800 sq ft of flooring with new Bruce hardwood flooring. The sales process was quite simple and accommodated our schedule change.The delivery was less than acceptable. The pallet of hardwood fell off the back of the loading platform and damaged many of the boxes of wood. I know some of those damaged pieces were used on my floor as I see corner dings on some locations.The first day of installation the crew arrived two hours late. The crew were helpful and friendly. The installation was supposed to be completed in a day. They were no where near finishing after day one so the house couldnt be put back together. Day two of installation, they were again late.During the installation process (on day one), we discovered the threshold pieces were missing in the bathroom. On day two, they returned without the proper color. Now I have an incomplete job. In addition, one of the shoe-moldings prevented the exterior door from opening.We did discover rot in one of the floor boards. They allowed me to get that fixed while they finished other parts of the job.During the inspection process, I found 3/8 gouges in the flooring at random spots in the middle of the planks. No idea how that was done.Now Im waiting (day three) for the crew and they are again late. I needed the thresholds installed, gouges fixed, and the shoe-molding modified to allow the door to open. The crew did the job well and they were pleasant to work with. Nevertheless, were pretty far down this journey and Im not happy.I will be glad when this job is done (correctly) and I can move on. Next time Ill use my usual crew in NoVa (Floorware Inc.) whom I couldnt get to do the job during Covid-19. By they way, do NOT pay for the entire project up front. Hold your installation funds until the job is completed ... buyer beware.

Highly recommend The Carpet House for any job big or small. They did fantastic work on the backsplash in our kitchen. We love it. They showed up on time and ready to work and completed the job in a very timely fashion. They cleaned up when they were done and even called afterwards to make sure the work was done to our satisfaction and that we were 100% happy. We will definitely be using them again.

After a flood in our basement required replacement of the carpets, we walked into The Carpet House after driving by it almost daily on our work commute. The staff greeted us immediately and spent more than an hour walking through the options and presenting several carpet samples. Once we had narrowed down the options to three different carpet colors, the team allowed us to take home carpet samples at no charge to make a final decision. Upon our final selection, the salesperson quickly filled out all the necessary paperwork and scheduled an installation date within a week. When we asked about baseboard installation, the salesperson even helped us find a local contractor to complete the work in advance of the installation. More than a year later, my wife and I are still satisfied with the quality of the carpet we chose and would gladly recommend The Carpet House to anyone in the Fredericksburg area looking for carpet replacement or upgrade. They have an extensive selection of carpets at all price points and worked closely with us to provide all the information necessary to complete our insurance claim and purchase the replacement carpet. This support was a bonus for us as we had not gone through an insurance flood claim previously.

I will never recommend the Carpet House to anyone. They do not have a unique product so where they should shine is their customer service and installation. Both are a complete failure. Getting a response from the “design team” is a week long (or more) process. The designer missed a very key element in our shower design and isn’t willing to eat $650ish dollars to correct it and make the customer happy.Where hardwood transitioned to tile, the installers used a HUGE threshold (the kind you would have to pick a vacuum up and over... like where tile meets laminate in an old house and you know the job wasn’t done right), and now wants to charge us $1000 to do it the right way (seamless transition from the wood to tile). In addition, our recessed floor vents were about a quarter of an inch off in some areas sticking up out of the floor!I wish service providers took more care and had more respect for their customers...and that pride in one’s work still existed. While the Carpet Shop may have the cornerstone in the local market, I urge everyone to shop elsewhere. We spent approximately $28,000 here during the build of our new home and will never give them another dollar.

From start to finish, my kitchen project has been a truly wonderful experience. I replaced the cabinets, countertops and backsplash in my kitchen. Jaime was so attentive and proactive in my selectins and went out of her way to help meet my very short timeline, ensuring I would have a beautiful kitchen for the holidays. We are extremely pleased with our backsplash installed by The Carpet House. Working with Bruce was always pleasant and amiable. Mike had great ideas about the design of our backsplash and Alfredo and his assistant are excellent craftsmen in their installation!! It looks better than I could have imagined it looking!

Spoke to two different sales people both did not call me back on multiple occasions. Then manager Mike took over send out field guy to measure as I was ready to pay for job then he did not Call me back either. I am done with this company they are a joke. Would not recommend as if they are this difficult to give money to imagine of there is a problem.

The Carpet House has the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced! They are incredibly incompetent and rude. An independent flooring inspector evaluated my flooring in my new house because The Carpet House refused to do anything about the expansion and buckling. In fact, The Carpet House senior representative told me it was my furniture’s fault! Actually the installation was the problem. The issues were: 1) The flooring was not climitized. 2) Not enough transitions were used. 3) No room for expansion at the walls was provided. 4) The stair rails were installed on top of the “floating” floor. 5) Shoe molding was nailed onto the “floating” floor.The Carpet House primarily does business with builders. I caution anyone having a new house built in which the builder insists on using The Carpet House.

Hands down a disaster from the minute we contracted with them. We hired them, and paid 50% up front, to have 1 room, stairs, and a catwalk converted to hardwood. A process that started in the end of Feb. Now it is May 6th and we still have not had the stairs and catwalk completed. Oh the excuses; 2 weeks they said, the mill is running behind. Then, one more month, the mill lost the order. The most recent was, well, the paperwork never went to the mill, we need to come back and remeasure. Seriously! During this process they never reached out to me and provided an update, I had to call them (and I pulled my cell records) 32 times for updates! 32!!!Update #1: June 1st, the installation team comes out to the house but they dont have risers for the steps, and the treads are not correct. Shocking. Here we go with another round of promises about how soon they will get this sorted out. I kid you not, this is the most jacked up operation that I have ever seen.Update 2 & 3: At this point, I think there is a camera crew hiding in my home and filming this for a giant Candid Camera reveal. The guys came back out on 9 June, and the treads were cut on the wrong side, they had them all backwards with the opening facing the wall. Back up with the railing and we continue to walk on the subflooring for another few weeks while they sort this next round of failures out. Oh, I should mention that I have 3 young children, thats a ton of fun with stairs without a railing and exposed boards...Update 3: Came out to finish on June 23rd. Did not remove the old treads as agreed and just did an overlay, so now my stairs are the wrong height on the first and last steps and are officially out of code......They left again without completing the job and then sent me a full priced invoice..this is going to be fun. Please learn from my mistake and take your business somewhere else. Keep in mind, we paid them in February for this job and here we are going into the 4th of July with it still not completed...I should add, my direct requests to elevate this to leadership at the Carpet House, to include direct messages to managers have not been responded to.

Still waiting on word when our carpet will be installed. The sales rep was terminated or quit, no follow up afterwards, and aside from one call back from the admin, no follow up as promised from the sales manager. Poor after sale process here.
