I cannot recommend this shop enough. I have a Mercedes-Benz which they were willing to work on my issue, and went above and beyond sourcing the correct parts saving me money in the process. If it takes more time then you expect please let me them do there work. When you get your car back it will complete and done correctly. Thanks Dan for all the help and good work.

Had good service until return to repair a leak. They repaired the leak they said wasnt part of the original job. That part was good. When I picked it up they informed me there was a crack in the fill plug portion of the case. They insisted I over torqued it. When I dropped it off to have the crack tig welded. We had to use a short breaker bar to remove the filler plug. That is BS I cracked the case because I originally used a palm ratchet. Develop your own opinion. This was my experience.

Jess Lewis literally saved my business! We are a local service company that relies on our work vans. I made the mistake of going to the stealership since they could get me in right away. They wanted $3500 more than Jess Lewis for a transmission and it would take over a week to complete. Jess Lewis understood my situation and put in a new transmission in one day. Not only did I save thousands he got us back to work ASAP! Whether you’re a small business or an individual you can’t beat Jess Lewis price, customer service, quality and turn around time. I just recently purchased a used F150 from a dealer in Ft Wayne. It was making a noise in the rear-end and the dealer agreed to get it fixed for me. I had gone to a couple transmission places and the others didnt have an idea or wanted to keep the truck to figure it out, so I took it to Jess Lewis and the Technician came out and listened to the rear and said exactly what it was(rear limited-slip clutches). They fixed it in exactly the time frame that they said it would be and I very appreciative as I know they are busy. They were very informative and courteous. Even when I had to bring it back for a small leak from the rear cover (it happens, 10 year old truck these things sometimes cant be avoided), they got me back in and done in the time they said yet again and fully stood behind their work! Its working perfectly now and I will use them again the next time I need service or repair. Thanks guys!

Jess Lewis replaced the clutch in my 2005 Honda Civic with 130k miles. They were very accommodating to my travel plans for drop off and pick up. They even called before starting work to confirm the job because they were not able to replicate my issues with the clutch. Fast forward 10k miles and the transmission still shifts like new. Do yourself and your wallet a favor and let Jess Lewis quote your next job.

Professional honest and know what they doing! My front drive shaft went out and transfer case motor and couple of other stuffs. Called them and they came right away pick up my truck and got it fixed in a very reasonable price and even told me to go back this Friday to double check oil and transmission fluid leaks. Awesome people! They will pick you up if you need a ride to pick up your vehicle! GO CHECK THEM OUT.

Brought my car in for a diagnostic. They did not once contact me to let me know what was wrong with it they just went ahead and fixed it not telling me anything then charging me 300 in labor when the diagnostic was supposed to only be $125. When I spoke to them and asked them why they didn’t contact me they threatened to cut the wiring in my car. And have had my car for 3 weeks now since my appt was 3 weeks ago

I have a 2007 Dodge Magnum with 164,000 gentle miles on it. The last couple of months it developed a trans fluid leak in the bell housing area. I am an import technician, so after some research I decided to replace the torque converter seal & front pump seals myself. However the small fluid leak continued to elude me. I consulted Danny @JessLewis for his expert advice. He suggested several other possible leak scenarios I had not thought of. I decided to let him & his staff pursue those diagnostic steps. They quickly located a hairline crack in the torque converter that without their equipment and knowledge I would have never found. I am so grateful to them for fixing my annoying leak! Their fee was very reasonable and the best money I have spent on this vehicle by far....

Took my truck in for a rebuild trans. Its still under warranty and it slips on first gear. I took to get repaired and they say they cant find nothing wrong with it. I went picked it up a couple days later and guess what it slipped. I ask Paul who test drove it if he was going open it up to see what the problem is he said NO. So Im out $1734 with a warranty and they wont fix the issue.I took it to you guys because of the reviews that you work with the customers. Must be only when you have time that you this. They do more than transmissions! I brought my truck to Jess Lewis for a second opinion, it would run but had very little power. The other shop I brought it to said it needed both fuel pumps replaced, seemed strange since both pumps were vastly different age. After taking it to Jess Lewis Transmission they determined that the fuel filter was plugged. Very reasonable price and quick turnaround. Thank You!

Terrible customer service, no communication, lack of care. Ive had several jobs for Jess Lewis and not one has been completed on time nor close to time frame given. Had appointment set today for exhaust leak that was created from previous appointment, called them 3 minutes before close to be informed they didnt have the chance to take a look at the car, at all. I’ve had exhaust and flex pipes replaced less than 15,000 miles ago. Needed items from my car but was told I couldn’t grab since car was in air and exhaust was on hangers. Of course, exhaust gas leak was confirmed from flex pipe by Tuffy’s, just after my driveshaft was replaced. Found that all of my items in trunk were re-arranged even though trunk was disabled. After spending over $3,000 in service with a business, youd expect at least a little bit of diligence and respect for their customers. Do not expect anything but disillusionment from Jess Lewis Transmission. Out of my three history service appointments/records, Ill be glad to say Ill never do business with them again. NEVER would I recommend anyone to have service here. Read reviews, I’m not the only one. Hope this helps.

They may offer you a decent price for a transmission rebuild, but it is at a cost! My husband had them rebuild his 2008 f250s transmission last July. They took a little while longer to repair it than expected, which was okay. When my husband picked it up everything seemed okay. The next morning we noticed there was some transmission fluid on the garage floor. We take it back and it took them a week or so, but the fixed the leaking due to a bad seal. Nearly two weeks later my husband puts the truck into park and it takes off in reverse! We take it back and they wanted to charge him to repair it! More than likely the mechanic was in a hurry taking the transmission out and stripped out the linkage, which happens. How that is not covered under their warranty, I wish I knew! My husband met him in the middle and ended up paying for the part only. He really was just wanting his truck just back to normal at this point. About 5 days ago my husband was driving to work and his transmission light came on. He is dreading the call to them because of the past experience. This is not acceptable. When you pay over a thousand dollars for a service and cant even use the warranty they supposedly offer, its a huge letdown. We have had nothing but issues with Jess Lewis transmission. They may offer you a decent price, but it is at a cost!

For the sake of full transparency, the owner of Jess Lewis Transmission is my dad, so maybe there is a little bias. At the same token, I think I am one of the most qualified people to review this business because the owner and his employees have been repairing my vehicles and kept me safely on the road, since the moment I bought my first car. I have been a very frequent customer, given that I inherited my dads love for cars and have owned 8 different vehicles even before graduating college. The Jess Lewis Transmission employees have done everything from working on restoring the old, rusty cars that I decided to buy to making me pull my car in the shop when one of them noticed that my tires were a little low. These are the people that have taken care of me and made me safe for every road trip and for every busy day driving back and forth between school and work. I have had everything from major to minor repairs on my vehicles and been nothing but satisfied with the results. This is an honest, family business that is propelled by a lot of hard-working people, who want to do a good job and the right thing.

Brought in a vehicle to have transmission replaced. Was promised it would be done in 3 days. Took over a week to get it back. When it was returned the transmission shifts hard and doesnt engage other times. Called several times and told to wait for the computer to learn. Waited 2 weeks of constant driving now and still fails to shift correctly. Called in again and was told that we would have to wait to have it brought in again. As a paying (already paid!) customer who needs the vehicle for business, being told to wait for them to make it right and that other incoming business takes priority over work they already performed is inexcusable.

I had a remanufactured transmission installed here. Shortly thereafter a check engine light came on unrelated to the transmission. I looked at the issue (oxygen sensor) and seen that a clip that held the oxygen sensor out of the way of the driveshaft had come undone. I figured this was due to the repair so I called and before I could explain the issue, Dan at Jess Lewis said, bring it in and well make it right. Might not seem like much to some, but to me that is good business.

It takes them several tries to get your tranny fixed correctly. I would not recommend them. Rebuilt my tranny and had to take it back a week later do to it leaking and bolts were loose and some were missing. They cant fix a tranny to save their life. They should just do Fort Wayne a favor and close their doors.

My car pulled a code for a transmission problem so I took it here as I was recommended by another business. Theyve been here awhile so they must be reputable right? Wrong. I had my tranny rebuilt for 1400 which is a great deal and very cheap but my car was worse off after I got it back from them. Hard shifting/ lurching into gear and very high rpms. Took it back in and they said my transmission fluid was bad. I know they looked at my fluid the first time because they said it was bubbling and thats a sign there is a leak with the transmission. This means they knowingly put a new transmission in with bad fluid....my guess is they wanted me to come back because Danny told me they arent responsible for damages done by improper maintenance of fluids but youd think they would change it of they were fixing the transmission too

Explorer transmission got locked in 4WD/Low with O/D light flashing. Brought vehicle to Jess Lewis Transmission. Manager was very helpful. He had technician come out to the vehicle right away to check trouble codes. It appears problem was caused by me accidentally hitting the 4WD switch while moving. Tech cleared the codes. Vehicle now back to normal and I was not charged for diagnosis. Thanks guys!

Scammers Alert! This is the only shop in town that would service our Jeep Patriot CVT. They stated that the bearings inside were bad. I can assure you the noise was NOT from a bearing. However they assured me that had seen this issue a lot on this specific model.After spending $2600 (had to finance it) on rebuilding the transmission the noise was still present. They started replacing anything they could think of to get it to stop. Rack and pinion, torque converter and so on. Eventually we had the exhaust replaced and that fixed it. Bottom line, we spend more than the car was worth because they have no business fixing cars. They were completely clueless as to what the issue was. At one point they even admitted to having replaced parts with used parts they had on hand just to see if that was the problem. They also sent in the paperwork for financing before we had the car back! So my 90 day same as cash started when they were still working on it! I wouldnt do business with this shop if they were the last place left in Indaina, I would just ride the bus forever. Do not go here!!!!!

For this place to be specializing in transmissions they have no idea what they are doing, or they were just trying to get more money out of me. It took them 3 visits in less than a month and a half for them to figure out that the computer was the issue the entire time. (End of July)1st visit they rebuilt the transmission. Two weeks later: 2nd visit they put a completely new transmission in and ten minutes of driving away from the shop, my car was experiencing the same exact issues as when I brought it back to them the 1st and 2nd time. Back firing and sticking in gear. And they are trying to charge me an extra $275 to replace the computer and reprogram it. After $1300 from the 1st visit, not having my car for 3 weeks total & a ton of frustration I will never take any vehicle to them ever again.

Recently had them build a transmission. They did good at building as I can tell so far. Down side is they did a terrible weld job on my exhaust. I know have an exhaust leak and I have to buy a new y pipe for my truck. I also had a subwoofer in the truck and was fully working when I dropped my truck off and wasnt working when I got it back because they blew my amp.

Have had our truck for over two months. Three times they ‘fixed’ it and we went out to get it just to discover we couldn’t make it a mile down the road. Then they said it was a computer issue, we waited a while for it to come in just to be told that the computer was no good, now we are waiting for another computer, and then we’ll see if the 5th attempt at repairing will work. They don’t return calls, beyond fed up. Will be notifying BBB next if we don’t get a fixed truck back this week.

After the first attempted initial repair of my transmission and my payment of 3 grand I had to take my car back several more times only to be spoken to rudely and my car to be kept for several additional months. And even then the car only drove less than a year and had to be sold for scraps. One of the worst feelings is to spend that much money with a business to be treated poorly and not to have the job done right. Might as well thrown the cash in the trash.

I took my Lexus here a little over a year ago. Ive had nothing but problems ever since!! It took 2-3 weeks to get my car back once I dropped it off for a torque converter ($3500) and they never called or let me know anything that was going on. There were a few days I drove by and my car hadnt moved from the lot.. talk about angry, especially when Im paying for a rental. Once I did pick up my car, as I was leaving I could hear a horrible dragging noise. I took it back and after leaving it another day he informed me they didnt put the exhaust up correctly which was causing it to drag. I believe if they would have test drove it they would have definitely noticed that. Not to mention now Im having exhaust problems. Ive taken it back two times since then. One was because it was idling funny.. he told me to buy a battery so I did but when I asked him for my old battery he gave me a different battery then what was in my car! What?!?! The other time the transmission pin fell out and my car was stuck in gear. It wouldnt let me shut the car off because it wouldnt go in park so I had it towed... i even followed the tow truck to the lot and got in it before leaving the key at jess lewis. When I got it back that time my airbag light was on saying that I had no airbags! Of course I told him it wasnt like that when I brought it in but he said.. what do u want me to do? we didnt touch any airbags. So now Im stuck with another problem.I saw the way he acted to new customers walking in and even me before he had my buisness and it was very different once they have your car taken apart. I would rather go anywhere but here. Never will I ever give them another dime. If you want your stuff in worse shape then it was before..Id say this is your place but anyone who works hard and cares how they spend their money should keep looking.

I was told they knew exactly what was wrong with my truck, they said it I could drop it off Tuesday and it would be ready the following morning, four days go by with no update, Im spending money on a rental that is racking up and they havent even called to tell me anything. I finally called and they said they couldnt find the part, and that they think they know the problem. Long story short two weeks go by and my truck hasnt moved from the spot that it was dropped off at, Im now $600 in the whole from the rental and still no truck. I will never do business with them again, they are liars and manipulative. STAY AWAY!

So if you’re having transmission problems do not do not go to Jess Lewis transmission my car went in there everything work properly I have it back now steering wheel is crooked turn signals do not work and my mass airflow sensor was off and I was driving like this for a couple days not only was my mass airflow sensor off as I was driving I went to replace my battery and they put washers and an oversize nut on my battery so please please please no one go to Jess Lewis transmission I also paid them $2400 dollars and they wouldn’t even let me take it out for a test drive before I paid him who does that ! 3/18
