Might seem like common knowledge, but I highly recommend getting a quote for anything and everything before trusting them with your vehicle or business. I was charged $80.00 just for them to tell me what was wrong. Diagnostics elsewhere are not nearly as costly. I went to this place because I was newer in town and now sincerely regret it. There are plenty of other businesses that will treat you respectfully and want to help. I never leave reviews but considered this experience worth it to warn those wanting to find somewhere in Fort Wayne for the first time

Ive used A-1 Automotive in the past (20+ years ago) and theyve always done me right!!! I just recently took my 98 Mustang GT in for a drivability issues and a CEL. They diagnosed it the same day and took care of a few other issues that were unknown at the time. I even had them do a full tune-up the next morning as they wanted to keep the car over night to verify the issue was fixed. They had everything completed and repaired just as I had hoped and had the pricing of the repairs down to a minimum that was affordable. As to mention....Justin went above and beyond and removed the trailer hitch off the car for FREE!!! They also picked me up in a timely manner to get my vehicle back. Im very happy and pleased with A-1 and know that you will be too. Dont hesitate to call and get your vehicle repaired at one of the BEST shops in town....just cant beat the service and quality of work they perform. Thanks guys...keep up the great work!!!

Thank you so much, on my way home from vacation and i lost my serpentine belt, spent several hours looking for a mechanic that could fit it in. They were willing to make the time so that i could finish my 13 hour drive instead of waiting 3 days to get to home. Such a life saver!

Good service well worth there asking price as of now I needed a few things done on my 05 kia rio and they made sure that they lived up to there word performance on my vehicle is now back to when the car was new they even made sure to think about the customers wile the snow was bad and kept the cars in tip top shape wile storing in his garage wile the snow fall was coming down. I believe they have good, honest service. I have came to them multiple time this year for my Cadillac CTS and they have always taken care of me. I trust their work and their word. Very friendly group of guys that take the time to explain everything to you. I was recommended to them by someone who has brought his cars to them for over 15 years. They will give you a courtesy ride, which is very helpful, and once when I dropped my car off to them for an extended period, they drove me all the way home to North Manchester! I called to get a rough estimate on a repair for my truck and got the best help and advice that I needed. I cant remember the guys name who helped me. But just with their customer service I would refer anyone I know to go to a1 automotive. Because his advice helped me save $800!

I brought my twelve year old vehicle in for evaluation of an engine problem that began while I was driving to Fort Wayne from Texas. Bill was outstanding in explaining what the mechanic found during a system diagnostic test. It was a simple fix and less than a day turn around to service my vehicle. I am overwhelmingly pleased with the way I way treated and the regard given to me and my vehicle.

A1 provided me honest car care 25 years ago when I least could afford to be gouged, and I have been with them ever since. A1 has a great community presence, with knowlegable, quality service that I highly recommend to all consumers be they in need of regular maintenance or collector level expertise.

Awesome detailed orientated friendly knowledgeable staff. Detailed work on collector automobiles from rebuilds and all mechanical fixes too detailing on any vehicle. Best way in and out of complex on Harris road. Traffic is easy transit on West coliseum to grid lock depending on time of day. Across the street from napa auto parts..

Had a thermostat fixed and the clip holding a hose was missing. I gave them the opportunity to help, they chose not to. Called summit city Chevy and they had one for 5$. Silly reason to lose a repeat customer.

I took my truck in for a leaking fuel line after I failed to remove my bed and drop the tank due to all the corrosion. They made easy and quick work of it and had me back on the road the next day. Highly recommended.

Incredibly honest, fairly priced mechanics. They always, always do beyond excellent work for my vehicle, and its always done reasonably quickly at close to or less than the estimate they gave. These are the kind of guys that a true optimist would think of when the word mechanic is mentioned. They know what theyre doing and then a lot more - incredibly knowledgeable, great group of people to have work on your car. The kind of shop that will always do things right the first time, and then a little bit better. I cant stress enough how much trust Im willing to place in only this place - I dont write reviews often.

What do you look for when you think of automotive servicing? Knowledge? Honesty? Customer Service? A-1 Automotive hits all three. I took my vehicle to them as a first-time customer with a number of issues I wanted them to look into. Everyone I spoke to was friendly and able to fully explain the repairs my car required. They fixed the immediate issues for a fair price, and suggested I wait on fixing the remainder. Their recommendation was to consider selling the car instead of putting the money into ongoing repairs. I was impressed, and ultimately took their advice and transitioned into a new car. As you might expect- once my warranty expires, I wont take my vehicle anywhere else but here.

My experience with A1 was great. They fixed our 2004 Toyota Sienna that had developed an engine leak. We rely on our van everyday to run our kids to their activities and cant be with out it. They handled the repair quickly. Everyone at the shop seems so nice and you can just tell that they care about doing a good job and made sure we were happy. I highly recommend them!

Ive taken my Saturn to the guys at A-1 a couple of times now. Theyre very knowledgeable and good at what they do. Every time I took my car in, they had it repaired and ready to go the same day and their quotes are a little higher than what you pay ($5 - $20), but Im not complaining there. Theyre good at keeping you in the loop when diagnosing any problems and also suggesting how to proceed. This is a great business that will treat you fairly at a good price; I highly recommend going here.

They changed the oil and checked the check engine light that came on but I had talked to them about getting a new serpentine belt which was kinda ignored so minus one star. Good service, if not particularly quick. Id rather have quality service though

Probably the best service Ive ever had start to finish. Had a wheel bearing replaced and they did a great job. The staff was very friendly during what was somewhat of a stressful situation having my 4 year old daughter and my 4 month old also. They got me in right away on short notice, provided me a ride to the mall to kill time while the work was being done. Ill certainly be going back when the time comes.
