I’ve always loved this place and was a regular long before the new owners took over. The cozy atmosphere of the cafe made for the perfect place to enjoy a coffee while working remotely or meeting with clients. It was my little gem, my hiding spot; a place that separated itself from the rest of downtown Ft. Myers. The new owners are equally as wonderful and kind as the previous, so this is why I am rating it 5-stars, they’ve been very good to me and never had a bad experience, however… I am sadden to say that I will no longer be coming back (at least not as a regular). I recently visited on Sept. 21 and planned to meet with a client for coffee only to find out the entire cafe had been remodeled into a bright and almost empty looking ice cream shop. All the charm and character just gone. It no longer feels warm and cozy and moody; just bright, cold, and empty. I am bummed that this cafe now looks no different then other ice cream shops downtown. I feel for the owners, because I am sure I am not the only regular that feels this way, and we will all silently morn the loss of this little gem. Regardless, to all the new-comers, you will still have a great experience here. I will still pop in to grab a coffee every now and then, however, I’ll be looking for a different spot to hangout and bring my clients to. Thank you to the current owners for being such great people and I wish you the best with the new place :)
This is officially my new favorite place to get ice cream and coffee. All of the ice cream is so fresh and there are so many amazing and interesting flavors I have never seen in an other ice cream shops. Then to my favorite part the coffee, I am a huge coffee drinker and am always looking for the best places to get coffee and this one is by far one of the best places I have ever found. The environment there is just so happy and the owners are the nicest people I have ever met. Will definitely be going back!!
The new owners are quite nice, but I am saddened that the charm and cozy feeling has been lost. I loved coming here a few times a week just to get out of the house to get some work done and for some fresh air. The quaint ambiance of the old coffee house offered just enough to make you feel like you could sit, relax, and day dream for a few minutes too. It was the quintessential coffee shop. Not too fancy, not too dull, and loads of old school charm. I loved coming here with friends for a drink. The new store has a sterile feel, and the red and silver is a bit jarring but maybe with time it will grow on you. I wish the new owners nothing but the best. It seems as though we have lost a one of a kind coffeehouse.
The new owners are so sweet! I’ve come back twice now because their breakfast sandwiches are delicious. Their coffee is too. I’ve had the cold brew which is good and the chai tea lattes have been good too. I like their mango lemonade also! I only wished they opened earlier: they recently adjusted their hours to 8 A.M. when it used to be 7.
We havent found many shops in Florida with good coffee. The coffee was very good (strong with some complexity). Also ordered a blueberry muffin which was saturated with berries. Will definitely be back
First time visiting Java house was about a year ago and my partner and I had a great experience. We chatted with the owner and we thoroughly enjoyed our sandwiches and cuban coffee. We are back in town this week and considering our first great visit, we decided to go back yesterday. There was one person in front of us when we arrived, so while in line, we quietly discussed what we were considering ordering. All of a sudden, the worker turns to us and yells “THE KITCHEN IS CLOSED.” My family has owned restaurants for the last decade and I understand being short staffed and stressed, but yelling at a customer is never acceptable. In fact, I can’t imagine one of my employees ever talking to a customer like that. Ultimately, we decided to leave. I hope management is able to focus on better training for communication and hospitality because you’re only as good as your service.
New owners are doing a great job. Love the renovation. Nice and bright and cheery. Great coffee and sandwiches.
By far the best little cafe in town. Great coffee, delicious and unique bakery selection, and friendly staff and owner. Love it here. Just wish it was open on weekends so I could enjoy it more :)
This small little location off Hendry does Coffee right, but wait, they also have food. Ive reached a new level of attendance at this place, both owners are always in, the cook, i now ask what they made special. So I tried the chicken salad wrap. Not something I would normally order, but everything Ive ever eaten there has been Clean, meaning home cooked without the grease. I was not disappointed. The flavor was something I cant replicate at home and when I go out to eat, I dont want to think I can cook it better and they didnt let me down. As for the coffee, unlike starbucks whose $20,000 espresso machines continuously heat the beans (means theyre still cooking/roasting) leaving a burnt flavor, they grind fresh on the spot. I like high caffiene, so for me, its a large black bullet every time. Again, I cant make the same at home.
That Ice Cream Shop is the best Icever visited in the USA, real homemade Ice Cream and real homemade Cakes. Breakfest with its lunch bread, incredibke delicious and always fresh, my employees and I enjoy then daily! That Ice Cream & Coffeeshop is a MUST GO!
Fantastic coffee shop to work at! The spicy chicken empanadas were so good that I had to take two to go. staff was super friendly.
Impressed at first but all out dissatisfied & disappointed with the naivety and unethical use of power. 1 employee even told me he doesnt think I deserve to have my own dept of self worth in this world. Keep on doing Gods work & have fun making false judgements and assumptions about the patron who paid for a service that was not received. BTW - no trespass is not something I had to personally deal with so if you give me the reason to shut your business down for harassment and publicly humiliating services, I want you to have my blessing to move forward with!Have a great day
I ordered the Cubano con leche with almond milk. The coffee tasted a bit watered down and it was way too sweet for my liking. It was also made wrong with coconut milk, which wasn’t that big of a deal. The barista kindly tried to make me a new one, but I drank it anyways because I don’t like seeing food wasted. My boyfriend did enjoy his cold brew with mocha syrup in it. It’s probably a good place to stop in for a quick coffee on the go but definitely not the best coffee in Fort Myers!
My sister and brother-in-law buy their coffee from this shop and so we decided to try it while visiting and absolutely loved it! I had one of the best caramel machiattos I’ve ever had and my boyrfriend got a raspberry frapp that was to die for! They have a surprising variety of food and I really enjoyed the atmosphere.
Excellent ice cream, wonderful cakes, and the friendliest service in downtown Ft Myers!
We love this place! We simply dream of it being open on a Sunday though, which is usually our breakfast day. However, when we do breakfast on a Saturday, we sometimes switch it up and go here. The coffee is so incredibly smooth. The atmosphere is quiet and quaint. It is nuzzled in a cute part of Downtown. The waffle was probably the best one I’ve had in a while. My husband got a breakfast sandwich which he liked, as well. It is worth checking out!
Really tasty ice cream and the coffee was really good too
Beyond impressed on my first visit here. Amazing staff, very high quality food and coffee and the best atmosphere. Wouldn’t go anywhere else if I lived here. 20/10.
Such a cute find! We were headed to another place for lunch and it caught our eye. So glad we stopped and ate. Yummmm A must for a quick bite.
Ive ordered from here a few times. Ive learned its better to eat IN the restaurant than order from Door Dash. Some of their food is very delicious. The crepes have been a miss for me no matter the flavor Ive tried ordering. The fruit in the crepes doesnt seem like its cooked with a lot of sugars, so when its cooked down and hot, its completely flavorless. The crepe itself is also lacking that acidity that you get from adding salt or salted butter to the recipe. Ive ordered many times, and this always seems to be the case. I dont know if its because its take-out or not, but Ive never gotten a crepe with that nice salty, butter flavor. Just tastes like bread.Their coffee is great though.
Gotta love a great coffee shop and this place didnt disappoint!
Whenever Im downtown, I always have to stop in. The caramel frappe with raspberry sauce is amazing! Everyone is always friendly here, which also makes for a great experience. Support this local business!!!
I went into this small coffee shop on yesterday and will not go back for nothing.in fact i let the River District Council know how rude and unprofessional i was treated on yesterday.i have just discharged from the hospital 4 days ago now.i wanted to go somewhere nice after being in the hospital which Im in there a lot with my health.i have a heart defrillabator implant 5yrs and Crohns disease 13yrs. Remutorid arthritis in my right hand.i went in their coffee shop and asked their cashier who stood there rolling her eyes her and another assistant with dark colored hair.i asked did they have like a quiche lunch combo or combination?the owners wife girlfriend whoever she was wearing glasses with a frown on her face too.whispered something into the cashiers ear about me.then they still asked me if i wanted to order.please i walked out went to a way better restaurant downtown and told that restaurant about Java House Coffee unprofessional and gossiping ways of business.maybe my skin color was the issue.the owners had accents so who can they judge.i used to work downtown for years at the old McCrorys store French Connection Restaurant Pizza Fort Myers.Java House Coffee was no where in business downtown then.
I think they might have the best cappuccinos downtown. ☕
Great place. I am visiting family and not from around here and I went in for a golden chai tea latte and it was honestly the best I have ever had (and I get them a lot from different places!) My husband got a seasonal oatmeal cookie drink and he loved it too! We both also got the breakfast sandwich and those were very good too. Definitely will come back! Sad that this place isnt in my hometown!!
Lovely as always. Great service, delicious.
Very nice little coffee shop. I want to go back for a morning Quiche.
Where do I start? A coworker brought me here once, and I’ve never stopped coming. The owners are the best too! Bought some snacks for the office and they were so accommodating! The food is always amazing and the drinks are perfect! Any thing you chose you can’t go wrong. I suggest the cubano and their caramel drizzled almond croissant 😍I swear I go at least twice a week! The only place I go to for my coffee!
Great coffee, better atmosphere!! 🥰
This place is great. Cuban coffee is amazing. Im surprised by the selection of baked goods here. A+
Awesome coffee. Cute little shop with personal service.
This is one of my favorite places in downtown Fort Myers for lunch during the week, fast service and healthy food choices. Love it.
The owners are great and so is every coffee and food item they have. Love the atmosphere and decorations.
Comfortable quiet setting, amazing cubano coffee, delicious pastries.
Gluten free girl here: so many options! Do yourself a favor and try the Nutella waffle with strawberries. Incredible.
Very cozy place. Service was prompt and courteous. Excellent communication as to how we wanted our drinks prepared. Prices are decent for the area. Good variety both for the connoisseur and those who just want a basic (but great) cup of coffee. Will definitely be back.
Of course they have good coffee, but this has become one of my favorite lunch spots. They even have vegan options.
Went in for a stop with my father which wanted something easy going and healthy like a smoothie and I wanted a strong iced coffee and WOW we were astonished by the flavor. They have a good variety and good price. Ive been to many states and to a bunch of coffee shops and this one is on the top 3 in my list.
The coffee is great and the food was amazing! My husband and I each got exactly what we wanted. The owner went out of his way to make sure we were happy, and it did not go unnoticed. We will be back for sure.I had the mixed berries Belgian waffle, my husband had a bagel sandwich with egg, bacon, roast beef, and cheese on it. Also, we split a broccoli and cheddar quiche that was light and airy. We both had the seasonal butterscotch pumpkin spice iced latte, exceptional! All in all, it could not have been any better.
Great service, Great Coffee, Bagel was ehh but its Florida... Havent had a good one since I left the northeast!!
Literally the best iced Americano I’ve ever had! Don’t know what they are brewing but it’s smooth. And if you like smoked salmon...the sandwich is a MUST TRY. Or even if you don’t, it’s amazing
Cute clean little coffee place. Love it.
This is a very cute shop in a very cute neighborhood. The coffee was delicious. They have a wide variety of coffee & tea & wonderful homemade food items. The whole grain croissant was amazing. The staff is warm & accommodating. A great experience. Ill go back.
My local coffee house. Friendly, good pastries and sandwiches. Very chill atmosphere. Good place for coffee dates and meetings.
Amazing place tried their Expresso an now I cant go anywhere else. Coffee is great along with all of there homemade food. Also you couldnt ask for better customer service.
Lovely folks with really good food
The best service, the sweetest owners, the cutest and most enjoyable food finds. Such a gem, I am so glad it is close-by. Someone took me here on a first date. The date didnt work out, but I left completely satisfied and gained a favorite downtown coffee shop!
Came here almost every morning during our vacation in Ft. Myers. I loved the coffee and breakfast offerings but loved even more the small town family feel of this place. The owners are obviously hardworking and passionate about their business!! Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area!!
Today was the first time I visited this coffee shop, but it wont be my last. The atmosphere is soothing and welcoming, the owner very friendly and the food was amazing. I had an cinnamon apple muffin that was moist and full of taste and a sweet hot chocolate with marshmallows and whip cream (dont think about the calories) and I must say its the best Ive ever had. I plan to be a regular and am looking forward to my next visit.
Good coffee and nice area. Great selection walking along the area for food ect. Parking was easy for this place. Walked along streets and easy to find. Very clean area outside and friendly people everywhere. I like coming to visit this area.
Absolutely amazing food and atmosphere. Staff was sweet and so soft spoken! Vegan options!
Nice cozy atmosphere. House Coffee definitely a must try. You can get free refill for house coffee. We tried both Nutella waffle and crepe and would favor crepe. Spinach cheese crepe was nice as well.
Always scrumptious homemade everything! Soups, sandwiches made with whole grain croissants, cookies, sweets.... The best! And of course the coffee, always served with smile and gracious attitude. Environment also visually appealing and comfortable.
The nicest owners and a local business I love supporting. They recognize repeat customers and make you feel welcome. Very friendly and the food is amazing. Much cheaper than Starbucks too. I send everyone I know here!
This place outdoes Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and breakfast selection. They have a wide variety of breakfast and mid-day lunch snacks or meals. They have outstanding customer service. I would recommend to try this coffee out.
Very decent place to have coffee. Latte is amazing. First time visiting i sure will be back.
The friendliest coffee shop in downtown Fort Myers. The owners, Mike & Sarah, have created a tasty space for coffee and lunch goers. Their made from scratch food options are always fresh and affordable, and their new ideas for coffee selections show they know their trade. I cant wait to taste their new cold brew in a few weeks.
Owners are sweet and attentive, coffee and baked goods are delectable, and atmosphere is very relaxing. This gem is a refresher compared to other local mainstream coffee shops. Skip the regularity of Starbucks and Rebel whether “downtown” is your normal routine or you’re here on holiday. Taking a few to sit and enjoy your charcol latte paired with a cinnamon scone all while enjoying local art will make your day infinitely better.
Great atmosphere, located in a relatively quiet part of the downtown area. Nice art and interior decorations. Nice music.Friendly staff and very affordable food.Appeals to a wide audience, not just hipsters.
Great food, atmosphere and the owners are delightful. They are so friendly and serve their customers like family.
Great atmosphere, sercice, and Café Cubano was delicioso!
One of the best local coffee shops in town! I love supporting them. Prices are comparable to Starbucks, and they provide wonderful healthy options. Owners are the sweetest couple Ive had the privilege of interacting with.
The people who work there are so sweet and kind. They hand serve you your drink and their prices are good. The atmosphere is great: theres interesting art on the walls and light music always playing.
Great food/coffee!
I love the concept. Cappuccino was one of the best i ever had. The panini was awesome.
Quaint little place with homey feel. homemade food! great service and very reasonable prices!
Loved my experience! The only thing that got me were that the prices are quite high, but still the food quality is very good. There is attentiveness by the staff which would check the quality of your food. Staff is nice and very fast!
I really enjoy eating lunch here. The veggie burger on a bagel has become one of my favorite items to eat. The coffee is awesome too.
Very friendly, very comfortable, everything is made fresh and you can tell they care about e very customer. Excellent choice.
Great coffee, great people. My new go to, downtown.
I got coffee, but I did not see Sara and her husband. Are they gone?.
It is a nice little shop and the service is great. They do offer food, but I have never had any food from them yet. I recommend the Hot Cafe con Leche
Got a mocha and sausage egg and cheese bagel. Both were excellent. The mocha was delicious and the perfect temperature so I could drink it right away.
By far the best coffee house in Downtown Ft. Myers! Excellent coffee, creative and health conscience food menu. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting & the staff really cares about making every customer happy!
Mike and Sarah are the absolute best at what they do! Only coffee shop to visit downtown Fort Myers
Very friendly. Great coffee. Delicious pastries. Awesome atmosphere. I was uncertain of what to get and they were very helpful. It was definitely worth the trip!!!!!!!
Came here with my family while walking around down town. I had the iced coffee nitro with mocha. Really good and incredibly smooth. My daughter got the hot chocolate which came with whipped cream, marshmallows & mocha syrup.Everything was really good. Definitely will be back!
Cute little place, like the ambiance a lot. Got a frozen hot chocolate, it’s okay, could be a little more flavorful. Got Nitro brew iced coffee for my mother, I thought that was good and smooth. Toilet experienced was a drag though!!! The goofy toilet paper roll was so tight and one roll missing,,the one closest to the toilet of course...so when I needed toilet paper, I had to get off the toilet seat in crouched position and pull with all my might and 1st feed it though by inches because it would constantly break off in 1” paper sheets and then had to use the other hand to roll the toilet paper roll so the feed could come out after the first 3 attempts at trying to pull it though like you normally do all the while in a very uncomfortable position. I don’t know why it was tightened so tight, but if their goal is for their customers not to use the restroom, they’re accomplishing it. Do not toilet here if you can.
One of my favorite places to snag a few moments of work or setting for meeting while down town. Mike and his wife are wonderful and they are diligently working to bring better and better products to their store!
Excellent coffee, particularly the cold brews. Owner was incredibly helpful and attentive to our wants. Will certainly be coming again next time Im in town.
Great service and excellent items from their bakery.
This place is awesome. I work downtown and get breakfast here often. The owner is very sweet and the service is always great. If you are looking for a fresh, homemade bite to eat, stop by Java House.
I loved this place! My wife is very picky and she was very satisfied too. We tried the quiche, a berry crepe and a croissant. The coffee was great too.
We came by after a baseball game. The coffee food and service was amazing. Im going to stop in everyday while we are in town. :)
