My classic wasn’t running at all, and they brought it back to life. It took a lot of time, patience, knowledge, and never stopped until the car was running the way it is supposed to. Hats off to all of them, office staff included, for very high level of work, courteous, and professionalism.

Decided to take my 2014 Jaguar F Type here versus the dealership and couldnt be happier I did. The owner personally went over everything with me and gave me options regarding getting the part I needed. The mechanics are top notch and work methodically to diagnose problems and then perform the repairs. They kept me informed throughout the process. When the car took a bit longer to get done they did a complementary detail for me for when I picked it up. Glad I have an option for professional, honest and reasonable service/repair for my European car versus the dealership.

Very trustworthy and professional. I had a fuel leak and they got my Mercedes Diesel in quickly and had it back to me quickly. They did a full inspection and gave me an estimate for other items they found. They returned the car cleaner than when I dropped it off too.I will definitely be taking it back to them to repair a leaking power steering pump and replace brakes on rear.

After only one visit, I am now a customer for life. These folks know their BMWs. I dealt with John and spoke with him at great length about my transmission issues. My 1979 German market Mercedes failed emissions. They adjusted things to get it into compliance and took it for the retest. I doubt another shop in town would have had the parts or expertise for such an odd ball car.

I have been a customer for the last 5 years and John and his staff service and maintain my cars: Porsches (911-Cayenne) BMWs ( 1973/1976 ) Audi S4 & Mini Cooper S. At all times I trust their expertise and judgement and appreciate that they use OEM parts as well as the highest quality lubricants . I have no need or desire to take my vehicles anywhere else. I appreciate that they are a full service shop and can fix any and all European Car issues.

John is a master Mercedes mechanic and his knowledge of these automobiles is extensive. He communicated with me very well throughout the process of restoring my vintage 380SL back to perfect health.

I travel 55 miles to use their service. That good. That dependable. That reasonable. Great front desk that makes the experience (and lets face it, paying for repairs is NEVER pleasant) a whole lot less painless. Highly recommended. When due to a breakdown I had to use a Denver area service that specialized in my brand, I knew then and there I would continue to make the trip north. They are on my Send Cookies at Christmas list for a lot of reasons.

POOR COMMUNICATION! I initially made an appointment here to see what was wrong with my 2008 vw gti engine. After my appointment day came and went, two days later I had to reach out to find out what was going on with my car, they had not even looked at it yet. Throughout the whole experience they never reached out and called me to update me and I was the one calling. So I wait a week and then call them again. They quote for a fix and so I say go ahead and go for it. Days pass with no update so I call again and there was no progression on my car. At this point it had been two weeks and I was growing impatient. A few days later I check in again and they tell me that they day before they actually blew my whole engine. So they blew my engine and didn’t even tell me without me reaching out. They recommended a new engine along with a few other things and I declined and had a tow truck tow it back to me. And when it arrives I find my car in pieces, the rear seats are completely taken apart, my skid plate it thrown in the trunk, my wheel wells are hanging down and an awful smell coming from the inside. At the end of it all I am out 3 weeks of time, $450, and my car in pieces. To say the least I am very disappointed in the way the whole situation was handled. Wouldn’t recommend this shop unless you have a lot of money and a lot of time on your hand. I will say when I talked to the tech he seemed to know a lot about the car but the whole situation was handled very poorly.

I have never had a complaint about the service, prices are reasonable, and work is carried out in a professional manner and delivered on time, as promised. Many years ago I bought a secondhand BMW 2002 tii; great car at a great price. But after enjoying driving it for about a year, I sold it. Driving it was great, but the cost of regular maintenance and small repairs was astronomical. In addition, the people in the shops (plural) that I took it too, all had an air of snobbish superiority because THEY knew how to change the oil in a SUPERIOR automobile. Yeah - whatever…. So I decided that the “driving experience” of a BMW was far outweighed by the “maintaining experience” of owning one, and that I’d never get another one.But this last year I was in need of a good, used vehicle at an affordable price. I was thinking Japanese; have had good luck with Honda and Toyota. But everything Japanese was very expensive, even with high mileage. Then I happened on a BMW Mini with far fewer miles and a much lower price. I thought there must be something wrong with the car, but there really wasn’t. The Toyota dealer that was selling it had taken it as a trade in and couldn’t sell it because it was a standard shift. They said no one knows how to drive a standard shift anymore. As it happens, I prefer standard shift and the price and condition were much better than anything else I’d looked at. So, with the high-priced snobs of previous BMW experience well in mind, I took a deep breath and bought the Mini.That’s how I happened to get to know European Motor Cars of Fort Collins. And thanks to them, I’m overjoyed that I got that BMW because in addition to finding a fine car that is a pleasure to drive, I’ve also found an equally fine shop that is a pleasure to know. I’ve been driving cars (and having them maintained and repaired) for literally half a century and I’ve never encountered a better shop. All the people there, from the desk in the front office to the work bays in the shop, are just the best. They are friendly, helpful. When they talk to you about your car - and they do take the time to talk to you about your car - it is because they are doing what they think is best to keep you rolling. Not to soak you for things you don’t need. Without cutting corners on the maintenance, they keep their prices very reasonable.Furthermore, it’s the kind of place that, if needed, will go over and above. I recently had a problem with the car that I couldn’t take care of myself; just a glitchy little thing, but it was going to keep me from being able to drive 25 miles to get home. As a result, I showed up at the shop at 5:00, quitting time, and I think it was even a Friday. But they just took me right in on the spot and got on it. Worked on the glitch for forty-five minutes, got it fixed, and got me on the road. Furthermore they were nothing but friendly about it even though they were having to stay late.This is the first review I’ve ever written for any business, and I’m not very good at it because I’ve gone on and on. But I just wanted to give anyone who reads this a context for my saying simply: These people are the best. You are not going to find a better shop anywhere. Work was not satisfactory, always took longer and cost more than advised, Big show but no go. Also very high repair charges, mediocre workmanship. took my BMW and my Mercedes a number of time hoping things were just isolated case, but time and again was disappointed. Nice people but poor performance. Im done with them.

I bought a car from these guys. A 2005 Volvo XC90. Great car. I’ve already driven it to Yuma, AZ and back twice without a glitch of trouble. That’s testimony enough. But! The knowledge of the service department is exceptional. Jordan is very efficient in his scheduling to meet my periodic maintenance needs and Terry the service manager has an automotive knowledge base like I’ve never seen. While waiting in the showroom during an oil change, it’s impressive to hear him explain details and why they do things the way they do for the customers’ benefit. It’s obvious they are not about making a sale or taking advantage of anyone. They are about building your trust. You can just feel that when you converse with them. Their passion for accuracy is apparent and their reasoning is transparent. I would recommend this service department to anyone driving a European Car.

Without a doubt, these guys are the best in town- if not in Northern Colorado! Theyve worked on all my VWs Audis and Mercedes. Not the cheapest place in town, but not as expensive as the dealer. Dont think Id ever go to a place that advertised as being the cheapest- my cars (and yours) deserve to be serviced by great folks....such as European Motor Cars. I grew up in Fort Collins and have been very loyal to a long time mechanic that I adored. I had upgraded my vehicle to a Range Rover and needed some assistance with mechanical help after a couple years. My husband insisted I take it to a specialist and found John at European Motor Cars. Honest, quality work.They took on a very in-depth diagnosis of a turbo charger issue when it grew to be outside of my mechanical abilities. They were honest, thorough, and didnt try to up-sell me on anything. I even called different part vendors and confirmed the pricing they quoted was spot on. Their rates are a tad higher than other shops around town, but it is well worth it!

I love this place. I take my mini there and they are always courteous and reliable. I feel like the prices are very fair for service on a foreign car. I never feel like they are giving me a line because Im female and maybe I dont understand what is going on. Ive never left there with a bill that was higher than I was expecting, or a list of things done to my car that I didnt need or authorize.Never thought Id find a mechanic Id trust but I am really grateful to the crew here.

I formerly used European Motor Cars for several years and used to trust them completely. I now dont plan on ever taking another car there. I took our Volvo XC60 to the shop for a transmission flush, this turned into a leak from the transmission and after 3 more visits they still couldnt fix the leak and I ended up taking our car to Carl Duke Volvo who fixed in just one visit.You might say that reacting this way to one problem is a bit pedantic. but Ive also had a particularly hard time getting them to follow up on anything in the last few years. Ive had to call 5 times to get the receptionist to do get one thing that she originally offered to do.All said and done, the owner is really great and they have some amazing mechanics but I just cant trust them anymore and will not go back, despite it being much more convenient than the alternatives.Note: I have revised my original review, you can see it below for posterity.-----Euro Motor Cars has always treated me and my wife with excellent service and respect. Ive had several large services and inspections done here and Im super picky about the people who work on my car. I bought my car from Bob and John about 5 years ago. Every time I take it for service they treat me fairly and do their utmost to keep me happy. I recently had a difficult issue with a part that was difficult to find, John, Bob and Terry worked hard to research what options we had to find the part, after many iterations, they found a used part, and John came in and worked on it after having the flu til 11 at night to get it running. It took a lot of persistence, knowledge and kindness to get it resolved. Then they charged me very fair price. I cannot say enough how great these guys are. I would not have a car without them. We are so lucky to have them in town!!!

I met the owner and had a half hour talk with him ( where his passion for Audis was easy to see ) before I was even a customer. All the guys there are very friendly and more importantly willing to work with you within your budget to get to where you want your car to be.I bought somewhat of a lemon privately and its needed extensive repairs. The guys have been really patient in working out a plan that works with me financially and got me road worthy ASAP. Honestly cant fault them or the work and Im going in for my next round of repairs shortly!Ive dealt with a stack of mechanics in my time and these guys are without a doubt some of the most professional and friendly dudes Ive met. I feel pretty confident theyll take care of anyone looking to get their euro import sorted.

They performed my Unitronic tune for my GTI. It took a little longer than I expected (about 90 minutes) but I can not argue with the results. The tune is amazing, and I have put over 500 miles on it already with no problems whatsoever. The tech was sure to test drive my car after he flashed it which was nice. Anyway, good little shop.

I brought my vehicle in to have the glow plugs replaced. They said they did that. 4 months later they had done $1100 of related work, kept my vehicle for over a month at a time and were no closer to fixing the problem. They also violated state law by doing work without quoting. At one point they tried to charge over $400 for what amounted to a fuel filter change. When i complained they knocked off $150 because they didnt actually use a part on the order. So finally I had enough, took the vehicle to the dealer and found out that they never fixed the original problem. I took them to small claims court which he didnt show for and dodged me until the court threatened an arrest warrant. I eventually got my money back.

Took my Audi here for a timing issue that nobody else could figure out. The Mechanic found the problem within the first hour. He took the time to accurately and thoroughly explain what was wrong and how to fix it. Would bring my Audi or any European car back here 100% of the time

I moved here with my dad from Chicago. I got a good deal on a Saab and after 18 months, the rod and piston just disintegrated. No one had seen this in a Saab before. Saab mechanics from all over the front range were coming by to view the event. Meanwhile, I was really screwed. So Bob sold me, at about 2k below Kelly, the Volvo hed been driving for the past year. Its been fine.Since the Saab, they have seen several other Saabs with the problem and think it is the gasoline now. Oh well, I love European Motors, the Volvo is great, and Im a happy customer who recommends them to everyone.Follow Up 4/14/16I still love these guys. I had a chance to move from FC and decided not to because I did not want to have to try and find a Volvo mechanic I could trust. The work is excellent, fast, and let me know if something is wrong and whether it has to be dealt with immediately or can wait. Someday I will probably sell my 99 Volvo, but will be buying another Volvo from Bob and John!

They have experienced auto technicians, saved me thousands of dollars due to other shops misdiagnosing the problem, and the owner is willing to explain why your car isnt performing up to par. If you own a Audi, this staff will take care of you!

The service is incredible over at EMC. They were able to diagnose my car one day, and work with my work schedule so that the job would be accomplished incrementally. They did an excellent job with my 1998 E300TD, and the labor costs are more than reasonable. If you have any Mercedes, Audi, SAAB or VW I would say without a doubt take it to Johns shop. Ill be having the rest of my car work done by these guys.

This shop is fair,honest and reliable. You can feel comfortable that when they tell you what it will take to fix your car that it is accurate and reliable work.

Ive bought two cars from them. On my second car, the turbo went out on the second day after purchase and they gave me a new turbo at no charge(good luck finding a used car dealer that will do that) Both cars are, of course, used and no used car is 100% perfect, but I think they were both priced competitively, and they did a decent job on inspecting and fixing problems before purchase. I would buy from them again.

Fixed my Jaguar’s tricky electrical problems quickly and at a very reasonable price. I wish they were a little better at returning calls/voicemails, but their excellent service more than makes up for any shortcomings.

It was difficult to find a place that knew how to work on my Smart ForTwo (the tiny little 2 seater cars). I purchased it because it had great gas mileage and was the highest quality car in my price range. Then I took it to Grease Monkey on North College for an oil change and their techs couldnt even figure out how to open my hood. I had to show them. So needless to say I left without getting anything done. I thought, what have I gotten myself into buying such a wierd car?! After some googling I found European and was very pleased with my experience. They drove me to work and picked me up so I didnt even have to wait around while the oil change was being done and for a synthetic oil change it was very affordable. I have been there twice since then for regular maintance and a broken windshield wiper blade and continue to be pleased with the service.
