The female employee that answered the phone when I called, started off very friendly, with such a polite voice. As soon as I asked my question about if they sell Jeep soft tops, her tone changed. The quick, yet rude response was: We can get them but we dont have them in stock. Then silence.......nothing like is that something you want to do, what are you needing, etc. Maybe try to get business? It was like I annoyed her with the questions. As a manager myself that has a staff that I oversee in the medical field, that type of phone etiquette should be addressed. I always tell my staff that it starts with the phone and developing that relationship with a customer.Right after I got off the phone/hung up. I called the other 2 4 X 4 shops in Fort Collins. The level of customer service with that one question to both companies exceeded Fort Collins 4 X 4 by a land slide. I already have a soft top ordered with one of those companies and on the schedule for 11/8. My $2000 will happily be made to that company and its sad because I live on the North side of Foco so for convenience factor this business would of won, if it started with a friendly welcome.Hope instead of the argumentative responses you do with all your other reviews. You dont take the time to try and belittle my review and just try and teach customer service and phone etiquette to said employee so no more business is lost for you guys.

I took my 1997 Jeep Cherokee here for some work. I just moved from Texas. I brought my jeep in to fix my lift kit and find all the leaks coming from the jeep. Fort Collins 4x4 quickly and got me a quote on all jeeps issues. They provided detailed pictures of all the issues and a detailed price quote. I was amazed with the communication and the speed of the reapirs. I had them fix my lift kit which was installed by a shop in Texas who did not put on lifts normally. My the jeep drives so much better now and feels soild as a rock. I recommend any one with a Jeep and to go here. Great shop and amazing service.

Justin did an excellent job installing my AEV lift with steering stabilizer, front bumper with winch, relocating the stock fog lights, K&N cool air intake, and peddle commander along with new front, rear tail lights and getting my A pillar fog lights wired correctly. Very pleased with how my 10 year old Jeep looks and rides now.

Fort Collins 4x4 installed a Tonneau cover for my Tacoma and it looks amazing. Their responsiveness during the quote and scheduling were prompt and the workmanship was great. When I went to pick up my truck they took the time to show me what was done and the in and outs of the tunneau cover. I had the opportunity to talk with several of the staff and each one was helpful and addressed my questions. I will be using Fort Collins 4x4 for all my Tacoma work.

Paid them to install a rough country 3.25 lift on my Jeep. Multiple trips up there. After the lift, my front end clunks, and the transmission slips out of 4wd by itself. They seem either unable or unwilling to remedy. They also sold me a brake job.. my brakes overheated coming down Yankee hill last week, fist time Ive had that issue since owning the Jeep.Im a bit bewildered by all the positive reviews vs my personal experience.... Thank you for the response but respectfully your information is not accurate. The clunk existed before the skid plate but your tech asked me to remove the plate, sink the steering bolt and bring it back, which I did, and it didnt make a difference. I didnt choose to complete any installs.

Had a mysterious noise issue with my roof rack and was going crazy trying to troubleshoot on my own. These guys fit me into their schedule and fixed the problem within a day. Will be doing all my aftermarket work here in the future!

After over a year of multiple appointments, with two different shops, trying to diagnose and fix a front end suspension problem I’ve been having, I brought my Grand Cherokee into Ft Collins 4x4 for a “3rd opinion”. Not only were they able to diagnose the issue almost immediately, we realized the other two shops had missed the very obvious problem at the core of the issue!At Ft Collins 4x4, the service was efficient and professional, and I really appreciated that they took the time to explain the how and why of all the components of the suspension to me, and provided me with the confidence in comprehension, as well as photographic evidence, of the problem, to bring back to the original shop. So while I do need to follow-up with that shop for the repairs I need, I have absolutely found my new go-to garage in Ft Collins 4x4, for all future repairs! I only wish I had found these guys sooner, and maybe I could have avoided a year+ of headaches

Alright holy moly these guys are the real deal. I drove from 144th and I-25 to get my 91 blazer worked on from references locally. So I had the death wobble and yes it sucked bad. Dustin and the entire crew took care of the situation. I initially called up thinking I needed a new steering stabilizer, well not so much ended up being ball joint, gear box, u joint, etc. Anyway to sum things up, my ride is back in action and wish I could post pictures. Freaking incredible tired of the beat down want to be mechanics really no need to list, just do yourself a favor and go here. In in out in a day pretty impressive and every one is pretty chill and straight forward what else do you want! Im just saying......

The best shop Ive found in 15 years of driving vehicles. They are exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. I have used them exclusively for working on my 2007 6.0 F-250 and wouldnt take it anywhere else in Colorado for service. Very helpful people and nice place

This place is phenomenal and cant say enough good things about them. I brought my 1975 CJ5 to them after a shop in Denver replaced the engine and ignored a lot of the other issues with the jeep mechanically. These guys took their time to ensure that everything was done properly. They are also very creative and were willing to take on any crazy idea i had for modifications to the Jeep and trailer. Justin took on every modification and custom addition and found a way to make them work on such an old jeep. If there was something they werent sure about they would research the issue and find the solution. They are very patient and want to get things done right, they dont want to send you out of the shop as fast as possible to then have things malfunction on you. This is the only shop in town that I will take my vehicles to for work.

Had to get my timing belt changed on my 07 4runner and decided to check them out on a recommendation. They provided a fair price, great service and gave me a loaner car. I highly recommend using them. Dont think twice about using their services just go for it!

The folks here are knowledgeable, friendly, and professional and arent here to cheat you out of your money.I consulted with them extensively about lifting my 06 Jeep WK and they helped me find the right kit and suggested tire size for my needs. Even though people dont usually lift WKs, they suggested a high quality kit and not to go over 2.5 (IFS vehicle) when other shops wouldnt even bother with me at all. The car runs even smoother than stock and their know-how and professionalism has left me with a pretty sweet ride!Thanks FC 4x4!

Amazing qork on my truck, friendly staff zero attitude

I spent over $2,300 to have a starting issue addressed (flexplate and starter) an oil leak repaired, the shifter cable adjusted. I left the business and the problems persisted. I noticed the oil leak immediately but thought perhaps they didnt clean the residue off. I waited until I had a chance to wash the vehicle thoroughly and confirm the oil was in fact still leaking. Given my schedule and commute, it was a few weeks before I could do that. I called them to complain and ask for reimbursement. They asked me to bring the vehicle back and I took an hour off of work and brought it up to confirm the issues with their service advisor. I noticed more problems and they continued to worsen. I hesitated to call because I did not want to deal with them, since they broke a line in the process of removing my transmission for the starter job, and could never give me a straight answer on when my truck would be done. At the time we were under wildfire evacuation threat and I had to mention this 3 separate times to get them to expedite the process, since this is my only vehicle and the only one I have to move my trailer (which I live in). When they pulled the transmission, the truck sat for 3 days and the shop foreman apparently refused to do work on it and put their rookie employee on it, until I told them it had to be done the next day, no excuses. It was a 12 hour job that they ultimately took about a full week to do, and the truck sat on their lot for 2 weeks prior to them even touching it. When I finally picked the truck up (I arranged a key swap to avoid missing more work), the oil was leaking from the dipstick area, which was NOT leaking prior to their removal of my oil pan to fix the oil pan gasket and they had to remove that dipstick to do the oil pan gasket repair. I have to constantly ensure my truck is full of oil. As previously mentioned, I did not call right away thinking it was residual oil and could be washed off. I was wrong and a couple weeks had passed by the time I had noticed it was not residual oil and called them. They addressed my shifter cable, which was causing starting issues and the truck only used to start in neutral (should start in both neutral and park). Now it hesitates to start, gives me a dead key about 5x every time I turn the key before itll start and it will no longer start in neutral. I noticed this immediately too, but again hesitated to call as I mentioned since I went through so much stress with this shop during the repair, and I dont always have the time in my day when they are open. Lastly, they were supposed to repair the flexplate and starter, and it still catches hesitates to start. In short, they truly ruined more things than they fixed and now refuse to return my money, and have only offered to bring it back into the shop to try and fix it, but cannot give me an answer on how long it would take and i would have to miss MORE WORK. And I DO NOT want them touching my truck ever again. I do not trust them and their shop manager also yelled at me and informed me that I am not missing any work to bring my truck up there because they give me a loaner and I told them that their shop hours are the same as mine, and that EVERY time I bring the vehicle up I lose an hour of work in either direction if I dont have to take the whole day off. I told the shop owner I would be fired if I treated a customer the way she did. The owner has told me he refuses to refund me, since he wants to fix my truck. I told him I do not want him fixing my truck or touching it ever again, and I want to take it elsewhere, and that I should NOT be expected to pay for services that were not rendered properly. I only asked for a partial refund on the items that he did not fix. The only item he successfully (seemed to fix) was the rear main seal, and even then they pinched a line while removing my transmission and did not tell me. I had to rely on a friend who works at the counter to notify me that the line had been pinched. The owner refuses to return calls. This shop is an absolue embarrassment.

FT Collins 4x4 know what they are doing and do things right the first time — they have helped me transform my 4Runner to a one of a kind Ride — they have helped me to keep very streetable and are not so over the top to not help me with just some of the cosmetic changes I wanted as well as simple upgrades such as LED replacement items — my only issue is I wish I lived closer so it would be more convenient

Amazing! Was looking at a used Jeep Wrangler to buy and asked them to give it an inspection before I bought it. They were super friendly and got me in right away. They did an awesome inspection. They gave me a list of all the parts that were good, not so good, and needed to be replaced with pictures and estimates. I would definitely recommend them!

They found a defect in a part that I had brought in to be installed and worked with the manufacturer to get it replaced. This caused a big delay in getting my truck back, but it was 100% out of their control. Instead of putting the old part back in and charging me more labor they kept my truck at their shop and even took an hour of work off because of the delay that wasnt even their fault. I will for sure be using them again when its time to do more work to my truck!

Took my vehicle in for a water pump/timing belt/tensioner replacement. Incredibly professional, informative, and responsive. Theyll send you a report of a ~40 point check on your vehicle with details on each part of their check. My vehicle was schedule to be a full day repair, but they had it done by 9:30 the day I scheduled my repairs. I would highly recommend Fort Collins 4x4, and Ill most likely end up back there before long.

Found FC 4x4 when searching for quotes on some work on my Armada. They gave a great price so I decided to check them out. Once they looked my vehicle over, they told me I didnt even need the work done that I was told about by another local mechanic. I was sold at that point.They do very thorough inspections when we have our vehicles in for service, they send text and email reports with photos of concerns, and are very up front about what is a priority and what work can wait.Recently I was shopping for a car for my teenager, and when I called to ask about the cost of a repair for a car I was looking at, Ernie was very open about which cars I should steer towards for keeping maintenance costs low. What a class act! My daughter goes to school at CSU and she was getting Death Wobble with her Jeep. Normally I could fix this myself but Im in California.... 4x4 went above and beyond to provide us exceptional service! We drive a Honda Odessey that had a slow but persistent oil leak. First, 4x4 provided us a loaner vehicle for our family of 6! This was the first major savings as we didnt have to purchase a rental vehicle. Next, we had a small crack in a gasket. Of course, Honda doesnt sell this small piece separately but rather you have to buy the entire part. The part alone was going to be $700 before labor cost. One of 4x4s mechanics worked for Honda for many years and knows them like the back of his hand. The mechanic went out of his way to do extra research and find this specific gasket. This was the second major savings we experienced because they chose to go above and beyond to get us the best deal! We would highly recommend them and appreciated their integrity!

I mistakenly walked into this place when I was trying to go to another shop that had already quoted me a fair price over the phone to remove a stripped nut. Well although I had the wrong place, these guys offered to remove it for me no problem. It only took a few minutes and they refused to take my money after because it was such a minor job. Super friendly and after talking with them I noticed they really know their stuff. I will he coming here any time I need professional help in the future!UPDATE: I have been back here a few times. They also changed the tie-rods on my Jeep and did an excellent job. The amount of advice and information they have given me has been huge in helping me do so much more on my own too. These guys will always be my go to shop for just about anything for now on.

I brought my Chevy into the shop here after the Park Meadows Chevy dealership had my vehicle for over a month and could not figure out what was wrong with it. These guys were able to fix the problem in a week. It turned out there was a ground wire that ran to the ECM meter that was almost disconnected. It wasnt pulling any codes and was very difficult to detect but these guys did after a dealership repair shop could not.I would have given them 4 stars for this, but then they didnt try to price gouge me and charged me under what I was thinking it should cost. So 5 stars for Fort Collins 4x4, they are the best mechanic shop Ive ever dealt with.

Have taken my van and my husbands civic to FC 4x4 for regular service and new tires. They do good work and provide friendly fast service at an affordable price. I will definitely continue to give them my business.

Jeff at Fort Collins 4X4 is awesome! Great work, honest communication, and highly recommended. When the power steering went out in our Hybrid SUV, the dealer quoted over $5,000 to replace everything from the wheel bearing to the ball joint to the steering rack. I brought it to Jeff for a second opinion, and he took on the challenge. He actually went through all the proper tests, and figured out the real problem was the power steering computer. Within two days Jeff had a new ECU ordered, installed, initialized, and operational. We were back on the road for $938 out the door! From now on, I will go to FC 4X4 first...

Update: the original was a 3 star but the owner contacted me and we talked about it. He really does want to improve and has mentioned that he IS doing fewer quotes and has passed that off to his knowledgeable staff. As such I have added a star. I will still say I wish more research had been done before taking my truck apart but we all learned a lot through the process and they are a more knowledgeable shop because of it.They did excellent work, rated only on their workmanship, easily a 5 star review.The -1 is due to how poorly the owner quotes jobs. He was WAY off, my quote went from ~$450 to install my bumper to $1200. Now there were good reasons for this (lights from ridged), but he needed to have researched before giving a quote and done the quote correctly. In fact, he should rely more on his techs to quote because they understand seemingly more of the necessary parts than he does. He would do well to focus just on business stuff as I think his gifts are more in that area.Overall ok, but getting so far off on the quite and not updating me until the truck was already taken apart should have earned a discount as I was not prepared to may $1000 more than what I was quoted.

I live near Walden, CO and was coming down to Ft Collins for a few appointments. As I was coming down the canyon, I was hearing a grinding noise as I turned left. Not knowing what it was coming from or the severity of it, I decided to stop and have it checked before continuing .I am familiar with Ft Collins 4x4 from friends, so I decided to stop there and see if they could help. So grateful that I did! The right fork into the differential had broken and continuing to drive it could of been costly. The folks at Ft Collins 4x4 did an awesome job! They showed me where on the axil it was damaged, loaned me a vehicle so I could continue with my appointments, and allowed me to take the loaner back to Walden so I didnt have to stay in Ftc. Everyone there cared about me and my safety first. And, they didnt mind that I had my lab Willy with me. I highly recommend these guys on just their customer service alone. I already know when I pick my suburban up on Tues its going to run like a charm. So, thank you guys! Willy and I really appreciate it.

I found myself in a bind needing a full set of Weathertech floor mats quick for a birthday gift. Not only that, but I needed them in Texas.
