All I ask for is oil change.I get home n check my oil dipstick.same dirty oil.they never change my oil or reset my maintenance light.Absolutely the Worst service ever.if you want to Throw money in drain.you can go this place.what happen to honest people with Integrity.I guess those day is far gone lady’s n gentleman.never would you Fool me again.Obviously a franchise because with all these bad reviews a normal business would be closing this back street with the quickness if you ask me.
First of all. I went to Midas to be check my tires. This mechanic person told me that l need the four tires. My relatives told me to change two. Anyway l thought was okay to change the 4. After a few days l drove on a State route 495. Usually l drive in the city and around 8 mills per day. So when l was driving around 50 or 60 my car started to shake. I got afraid. So the next day Monday l went to work and l went to a park near by. I was ready to go back home where l work and l realized my 2 right tires were completely flat and the left ones were flat but not to bad. I immediately called MIDAS and l explained the case and l veg to this person who he said owns the place to wait for me because l needed to be fixed my car right away. This person suggested me to look for a gas station to fill full air to the tires. Which l did and l was explained by this place that who ever replaced the new tires, didnt do a good job. MIDAS was supposed to clean the rings before setting the new tires. So l went back to my job and l called to MIDAS again to be sure that they were waiting for me. I got desapointed because l was told that no one could help me this day. So l went the next day and l was treated very bad. First of all l was told and showed me that one tire had an screw! Wow l got surprised. I told to this mechanic and owner that the previous person from the gas station checked the four tires and was no screw at all. But any way l said okay if one tire had the screw what happen with the other 3 tires and this MIDAS person said that he doesnt know. That it was me who was the one who needs to explain that. And also l was told that no one was going to fix my car. I was there at least 5 hours then l went again to ask them to fix my tires. To make it short. This place situated at Gallows Rd. Where no honest and disrespectful. It was a nightmare for me.
Good service on my inspection and minor repairs.
I dont know about others but they did right by me. I asked for an oil change, and I was able to bring my own parts. I paid for labor, which was reasonable. .
I get great service here, always.I just had a warranty issue with my brakes and the turnaround time was very quick!
This is the worst services I do not recommend to any buddy, they just take your money and they don’t fixed nothing, they don’t have experience on this business
I needed to have the driver side exhaust hanger installed for a bolt-on Borla exhaust system. This is basic work. I had managed to drop the stock exhaust and got 3/4 of the aftermarket exhaust on, but could not manage to get the drivers side on properly. I dropped my truck off Sunday and returned Monday to find they WELDED a hanger mount to the stainless steel exhaust pipe. The exhaust came with a hanger mount that just needed to be bolted to the frame. There was no need to weld anything at all. They simply did this to extend the amount of time to charge a higher labor rate. Plain and simple. The exhaust was crooked and bent upward, the weld spots were not painted and left open to rust, and the exhaust tip was angled outward and not aligned with the passenger side exhaust mount. THEY SWINDLED ME OUT OF $200 for this work. I took this mess to Trick Trucks in Chantilly and the mechanics there couldnt believe how Midas managed to do such a job. They charged me $58 to fix what Midas did wrong. Midas overcharged by $142. These people do not take pride in what they do. I would advise against having your vehicle serviced here.
Excellent place to care about your car
Good service. Clean place. Honest people. Comparable prices. The best part is they are open 7 days a week. Thanks Midas team for being great!!
They charged $19.99 to place new license plates. I feel this price was steep and quite frankly a robbery.
I brought my car in for a routine oil change and ended up being charged thousands of dollars to fix struts and axels that were apparently damaged. Just 2 weeks after the repair, I was driving on the highway and my wheel flew off my car, nearly killing me and the drivers near me. I called this Midas after the incident to let them know what happened. They wanted to charge me for the damage to my car and claimed that it was not their fault because they didnt touch the wheels. So how did they fix the struts and axels if they didnt touch the wheels? Either they lied about their original repair and charged me anyway, or they did an extremely sloppy job on the original repair. I would not recommend this Midas to anyone and I will not return.
Well this happened to me too... trying to get Safety Inspection and told me to fix my hose just like the other guy... I shouldnt just say yes... the car was brand new, and also asking another shop they will not charge $400 just to do the work... thank you for the other reviews now I am confirmed that will never go back to that place... disgusting dishonest people...
They are not honest people. They never changed my oil only just add more oil that my car is ruined now. They steal the money and they dont change the oil. Please dont go to this place
Don’t go to this place they don’t change the oil they cheat customer
BEWARE!!! They tried to fail me on safety and emissions and told me I needed to fix a hose and replace my tires totalling $700. I disagreed because I read the S&E manual. They yelled and cussed me out and threatened to to call the cops to try to fold me, so I called the virginia state police anyways. Jae Park, the inspector at midas, got lectured and reprimanded for straight up lying a d trying to force services. DEN OF THEIVES!
I’ve been coming to this location for a while now and every time I come and I am greeted with great customer service. Tommy at the front is fantastic. I appreciate his help and knowledge.Ly, please recognize him for all his great support.
I would avoid Midas in general but particularly this one.
DO NOT GO HERE! PLEASE save yourself the trip to this Midas and go elsewhere. They charged me for services that did not accurately diagnose or fix my car’s issues. When I called the branch to get a refund they told me I couldn’t. Customer service has been very helpful, but now a simple fix is now going to cost me +$1000 on a student’s per time salary.
These guys run an honest business. Ive been told on multiple occasions that I dont need something done to my car which saves me money and costs them short term money. However they do great work and have kept me as a customer for years. Highly recommend them.
Would not recommend this shop. Getting tires was pretty quick and easy, but they didn’t inform me that since my car is AWD that I would need to ensure all of my tires are matched. They should have informed me that down the road this can cause damage to the drivetrain but that’s wasn’t done. When I called back to see why this wasn’t done, they were not helpful and unapologetic. I’d go to a more professional shop next time.
Amazing service, always very helpful and honest with whats going on with my car. They always help my family and our cars when something is wrong and they are fast but efficient!
This is the most dishonest and unprofessional auto shop that I have ever been to. I dropped the car off to get it checked out and they gave me a long list of items that needed to be replaced with a price well above their competitors. In addition, all the repairs were not even necessary. Call around and do your research before taking your car to a shop like this for repairs.
Pros:- Prompt Telephoning Service- Parts sourced are affordableCons:- You will be paying between 1.5x and 3x what is expected in labor costs. (Ex: The average cost for a coolant reservoir replacement is between $210 and $248. Labor costs are estimated between $66 and $84 while parts are priced between $144 and $164. Labor for this job at this location was $218 and the parts were $130. In total, ~$350, $100 over the expectation.)- Even if you know the error code of your car with your own OBD scanner, you will be charged for the diagnosis and the labor on top of the reading.- We had two cars have their oil changed at this location and for both of them, the oil life was not reset.- I had my TPMS sensor replaced on my back left tire and the day after, my front left tire TPMS sensor died, which is quite suspicious. My other sensors have not had any difficulty in the 6 months since.
Very friendly staff, willing to help out. Always on time. I recommend this place!
Shout out to the manager/Owner? -Mohamed - recently, while we waited for our car to be repaired, my husband and I were able to eavesdrop on him with several customers with a range of issues. He showed a lot of integrity and honesty (something too rare in car repair places) with many customers and treated everyone who walked in with respect and kindness. He also was very good with his staff - one made a mistake because it was his first day, and Mohamed took responsibility for it and gave us a small credit because the error took a bit of time to correct. I really was impressed by the way he runs the place and will absolutely recommend it to anyone.
I wouldn’t recommend anyone and I will never go back to this place again. They just changed two light and I paid for it separate. But only changing two lights labor cost $55. TOO EXPENSIVE. I don’t see anything special that I can talk about this store. NEVER GOING BACK.
Terrible place! Stay away! I went here to have my tires changed on brand new rims which I purchased a week prior. They ended up scratching every single wheel and then denied it (even though I had photos that the rims were pristine when they came in).
Great, reliable service. My husband always brings are cars to this location for safety & emissions.
Staff here is unprofessional and don’t care about the customer! Manger is consistently screaming at employees and has an attitude. I’d take a pass and go somewhere else.
For a quick oil change, definitely a good place. Customer service could be better.
The guys at Midas were Awsome. They took care of the issues and made it quick. Thank you guys.
The new management is very excellent! I will definitely be back. Good service, quick work.
Jose, the owner, is a straight up, stand up guy. Good service, fair prices, they stand by their work.
Really nice people here and great service! After calling about 10 or so shops, these guys were the only ones able to fit me in on a busy Saturday and install an exhaust for me.
If you want to waste a lot of money and still have a broken car, it will be the perfect place for you! Otherwise, do not go to this place, they will do a terrible job and charge you for the same or ever a higher prices than your cars dealership. They will tell you that your cars has a lot of problems (100% of the time it is not true) just because they want to charge you... For my car I was told that I had to pay a minimum of $2,000 to get it fixed and all it needed was a piece for the air conditioning, this is how bad it is...
Absolutely crazy company, for a simple welding job charges are mental.Obviously a franchise because with all these bad reviews a normal business would be closing this back street outfit.
Staff was very helpful and they met my needs.
The worst mechanic shop to ever go to. As soon as you come in they treat you like you are not welcomed. They charge triple what other shops charge. Worst treatment. There is only one good worker who really wants to fix things. $100 dollars for pressure test while others do it for $30. Never coming back here again.
My recommendation is to check others review first.1. Went there for inspection, tried to spam me with a whopping $900 brake pad+rotor set, while all I needed was a brake pad replacement.2. After replacement, came back for reinspection, and they make their own rules of 14 days inclusive and asked for $16 extra, instead of 15 days exclusive according to the law(19VAC30-70-60. Rejection Stickers.Reinspection of a rejected vehicle by the same station during the 15-day validity of the rejection sticker need include only a check of the items previously found defective, unless there is an obvious equipment defect that would warrant further rejection of the vehicle. Such reinspection will not constitute a complete inspection and a $1.00 fee may be charged.F.1. The rejection sticker is valid for 15 days in addition to the date of inspection.)3. My previous review was removed somehow.
Do not go here. Mohammad tried to scam me. A patched tire was going to be $50 when I could buy a new one for that price. They charged me $30 to just look at my tire. Very unprofessional. He was telling his tech that I wasn’t going to get the work done while I was still on the phone with him and he continues with rude remarks such as “can you believe she’s not going to do it.” Never going back.
I went here to take advantage of a coupon that gave you an oil change and tire rotation for a decent price. After getting home I discovered they never rotated the tires. Its dead obvious because theyre different brands in the front and back and they were in the same position as when I got there. So I called and they claimed that they didnt rotate the tires because there was a problem with a sway bar. Funny that they just let me drive off without doing the work and without telling me there was a problem, even though they indicated on my receipt that they had rotated the tires. So I drove back there and asked why they didnt see fit to tell me there was a mechanical problem with my car. So I said forget the tire rotation, I just want my money back. The guy at the counter, Mike, said that the money I paid was for the oil change, and the tire rotation is a free bonus. I said no, the ad said the oil change included tire rotation, and you can find the same promotion at plenty of other places around here (where I wouldve gone if I knew Midas would give me this go around). He then gave me an extremely condescending answer: you want your money back for the oil change? what, you want me to put the old oil back in? Then a mechanic came in to say there was in fact nothing wrong with my car, they asked the wrong mechanic on the phone when I called earlier. Since it was clear I wasnt getting anywhere with these guys, I told them to just rotate the tires immediately so I could get on with my Saturday (at this point I had sunk 1.5 hours for the most basic of services). So I think what happened is they either forgot to rotate the tires or just didnt care and thought I wouldnt notice, and when I called them out on it and they just pulled an excuse out of their butts. Then I called them out on their fake excuse. And they were incredibly rude on top of it all. Just dont bother with these guys, there are dozens upon dozens of places to get basic service done here in NOVA.
Good 👍service
I went in for inspection and emission. A few weeks later I tried renewing my registration with the DMV only to find out that they charged me for emmission but didn’t actually do it. I went back in and instead of trying to remediate their mistake right away they told me to come back the next day again so they can actually do it this time. At that point I asked for refund since they had wasted enough of my time and treated me so rudely.
This shop needs to be closed by the authorities for scamming people and stealing their money. My pregnant wife went there today to get a simple flat tire fixed (gas stations charge $15-$20 to do that). They told her it would be $30 and she agreed to that. After they had done the job, they pointed to their price list and demanded $50!! It was a classic bait and switch! How crooked and dirty can you be to scam a pregnant woman like that?? The last name of the guy who was working there was “Lee,” btw. Instead of being accommodating and having some basic courtesy, he was incredibly rude too when confronted about this issue and wouldn’t back down. I am considering legal action against these crooks and will complain to all pertinent governmental authorities and consumer watchdogs about this establishment and their fraudulent practices. These people messed with the wrong person...
Bad service. I went for inspection. They didnt remove the old sticker properly. In any case, there are better shops.
I went to check the brake squeaking for my daughters car. The front rotors had some scratches. They were charging $100 for each new rotor, which was outrageous. You can buy the rotors and the entire brake pads for all four wheels between $150 to $300. I asked the manger to resurface the rotors, like in the past 30 years. He was reluctant to do it. But, he said that he would do it but would increase the rate from $200 (which is just the replacement of the pads) to $250. I agreed, only because I had to do it, since my daughter was heading back to school in less than 2 hours, and had no time to shop around. As soon as I went home after the repair, I noticed that they had done nothing. The rotor had not been resurfaced. They gave me a fake $30 coupon discount too, that anyone can get from the internet. I believe the part prices and repair costs were outrageous. The desk manager pretends that he is top notch car mechanic, and he is not. He tried to scare me and other customers off with false safety concerns based on a rare situation. The manager insists to check every car out and try to find as many issues as he can with anyones car to create as much work as he can for the shop, not what is really needed. My family and I were taking our cars to this shop for many years. The owners seem to be nice, but I am sure they know what is going on. But, no more.
Always honest and straightforward. I have been going here for years. :)
Always quick and friendly
They are okay their prices are a little high and the front staff are not the friendliest people. But over all not a bad place for a quick oil change.
Just went this place for air conditioning....i used to like this place but now price is very high without even take looking at my car. I been told around $240 up front..so i went to other place and they did for $120 all included..i miss old days with old management and people there.... now things are changed in this place....;(
Careful with oil changes here. Was charged $111 for basic oil and a filter.
Found a coupon for oil change and tire rotation. While I was paying owner stated I did not need a tire rotation so they did not rotate my tires. I asked him to rotate them anyway because it had not been done in 8000 miles and it was already included in what i was paying for. Owner refused stating it did not need to be done and he was not going to waste his time doing something if it wasnt needed. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
Excellent serviceMr. Mike Kims service showed courtesy and a high degree of professionalism.I was impressed and would recommend Midas service to others.
Worst repair ever. Had a power steering leak. They couldnt fix the problem. Instead of saying that they cant fix it, they just kept replacing parts and kept charging me more and more and more. Finally feed up with incompetents I took it to a dealer who said I was right, I wasted $2k with them. The guy may have been working on cars for 40 years, but that doesnt mean that hes been doing it right the whole time.
I took my car to Pep Boys because the exhaust came loose. They kept it for a day and when we called to inquire about the diagnostics and estimate, they hadnt even looked at it. We immediately went to get the car back and we took it to Midas. The fix took less than 45 minutes and we were helped right away even though they were about to close. Never going back to Pep Boys, Midas has a customer for life.
Be careful if u bring your car here for inspection!
I called to confirm my appt that I made on line (received a voicemail telling me to do so). Whoever answered the phone said “hello” and that was it. Didn’t even know if I called the right place. Needless to say I did not confirm my appt. If you’re that careless over the phone I’m not leaving you with my car.
Service was great in and out in no time.
This place should be out of business! Very unprofessional mechanics. Ended up causing more damage to the car than when I brought it in.
Fast, friendly service for my state inspection.
PLEASE READ THIS!! If they say Numbers don’t lie well ... I might say BAD reviews don’t LiE too !!For future customer or if you don’t know any mechanic shop in the area I suggest unless you don’t have time to research or distance is a problem to you Well its your choice to use and take a chance on their service but don’t complain after!!The pre customer service is nice as usual on any business but the post is a different thing !I work in auto Industry and I know how difficult to maintained a good reputation on this type of business.I will cut to the chase .i took my car to their shop I told them what is the problem and if they can replace the sensor since I already had the parts !After they replaced the mechanic and the front desk agent name LEE told me my check engine lights still on and I might bought a wrong parts ! I didn’t argue at all and I leave ! This is Sunday !!Monday I took it to my dealer and Boom I’m right! They put the sensor in a wrong location !What excuses can you say about this mistake ???they doing this every single day it’s not a complicated issue! I already knew how it’s gonna play out if this situation happend to a customer that don’t know anything about car or don’t know anybody! What will happend they will going to charge them for another diagnostic plus and charge additional work that not supposed to be because they are the one who made the mistake !!For future customer -Please be aware, take your time and do some research. We pay for what they asking for and I think we deserve to get some fair return for their service ! !!
Great service and fair prices with the new management
You have not been waiting quick service and price is right.
I went there for a break problem. They explained very nicely, and fixed very nicely. While waiting, they drop me home, and after fixing, they picked me up. It was very kind. *^^*
This was BY FAR the WORST experience I have EVER had at ANY car service shop,or any other place for that matter. the staff was rude, I was the only one in the store and it took a full hour to get my oil changed. Which is ridiculous. I had only bought this car this summer and upon my father telling me to go get my oil changed, I went. What I told the woman was that I had bought the car and I had driven it about 5000 miles since then. I told her I had no idea what type of oil was in the car. As Im waiting, I see her, the manager, and other staff members a number of different times. The ONLY time anyone came out to speak to me was when the manager asked if I knew that the rod that held up my hood was missing. I told him no, it was not missing. It was inside the car because the clip wouldnt hold it. Other than that, no one spoke to me, gave me any estimate, or even did anything. Without informing me or telling me what kind of oil I had in my car, they put Synthetic in it. I walked in there expecting to spend $20-$30 on an oil change. They tell me because of the Synthetic oil, it was going to be $70 something dollars. I had to fight with the owner, but after I fought with her for 5 minutes and she rolled her eyes and charged me $29.99 for the oil change. If she had told me what the price would have been, I would have walked right out and gone to Jiffy Lube. I ONLY went to Midas bevause it was across the street from where I was at the time and I was hoping for a simple in and out, stress free incident. As I was checking out, my chip card didnt go through even though the transaction had clearly gone through my bank (which I showed her) and as I was already fusterated and upset, I became more upset at this woman for making yet another mistake. The manager then YELLS at me and tells me that Im being rude, which I was, because I was upset that someone could be so incompitant. Also right before they worked on my car, another customer had just left and they were blatantly complaining and talking badly about him in front of me, which screams unprofessional in every front. Because of this awful experience, and because as far as I know, they put Synthetic oil in my car without asking me, I will be telling every single person I know to NEVER step foot inside a Midas for ANY reason. This was hands down the worst experince I ever had and I cannot believe how unprofessional, rude, and incompitant these people were. This same review will be posted everywhere because I refuse to let any poor unknowing person be swindled and screwed over by these awful people.
The worst Midas im the USA. Before going there ask for all rules of oil change
Dropped in to have my wifes A/C checked out. It hasnt been able to hold a charge for more than a few weeks but other shops couldnt find a leak. Midas initially couldnt either but let it run for a few hours to let any leak build up (they used luminescent dye to highlight the leak points). They found most of the O-rings were shot, the condensor & compressor leaking. They charged me a decent rate but we couldnt afford it or justify paying that much for this car. After calling around I found a shop that could beat it. Midas wasnt able to match the price... but he knocked $130 off the price of the A/C service (179) and showed me how I could replace the components myself. Good staff- and they appear to stay busy.
Went here to replace an alternator going bad. This shop is friendly and courteous. The alternator that was installed was defective and instead of letting me sit in the waiting area the manager gave me a loaner vehicle to run errands for the afternoon. this shop is reasonable priced and easy to get in and out of. If you have to wait there is Starbucks, Greveys sports bar and Mcdonalds in walking distance to kill time. #CityExperts
I brought my car in because my brakes were squeaking, I needed my routine 60k mile servicing, and my check engine light came on as well. Very mixed feelings about getting my car repaired there and dont plan on going back.First of all, I dont have a complaint about the quality of the repair. That was fine. Im not an expert but I havent had any problems. However, I absolutely should have gotten them to send me a written estimate so I could make some phone call comparisons before I approved the repair. I had a tight schedule and I really needed the car back right away so I didnt. And I regret it. Upon further research their prices were significantly higher than other places (and I am referring to prices in the same area). I also took a picture of the old parts they took out and showed it to a mechanic friend and while he said it wasnt totally unjustified, it was a stretch that it needed to be replaced right now. For reference I paid just under $1400 for the 60k mile servicing and new brake pads and rotors on a 2011 Nissan (done in August 2019). Not outrageous but quite high when I looked into it more.I dropped my car off at the very end of the day Friday night so the fact that the place was empty didnt seem out of place but the fact that they only seemed to have 2 other cars and lots of empty bays in the middle of a Saturday afternoon the next day is telling. They charge too much. They dont have a lot of customers and they will try to make up for that on your bill.Additionally, when I initially spoke to the person I believe is the owner when I dropped the car off, he was very friendly and seemed happy to explain things. He told me the cost to run a diagnosis but said if I got it repaired there that fee (about $100) would be waived. Standard practice (especially since it just meant plugging a sensor into the car and finding out the check engine light meant the gas cap was loose). The next day when I came in I was dealing with the owners son. A young guy who behaved nothing like his dad did. He seemed generally bored if not annoyed at having to explain anything or do anything other than take my payment. I was being charged $1400 for the work (which was too high but my fault for not doing my research I guess). I saw $100 added to the bill for checking the check engine light and told him I was told the night before about it being waived. I said it 4 times during the conversation and he ignored me. And I dont mean he said something like Im sorry but thats our policy. and didnt want to give me the discount, I mean he completely ignored that I had said anything and kept typing on the computer. I had to insist several times before he even responded with a counter offer to only take half off. I had to insist multiple times and describe his dad to him and insist I had spoken with him (in front of other customers) to get him to do it. Which even if I hadnt been promised it would be taken off was really unreasonable. Its $100 to spend literally 30 seconds plugging in a sensor that costs $100 to buy on amazon and I was dropping a huge amount of money at their business.Sorry for the long story but overall, the quality is fine but they do overcharge and the son is pretty apathetic and unhelpful.
Amazing customer service!
The guy behind the counter was nice enough, so I accepted an estimate to replace a 7 inch section of flex pipe for $350 (he claimed 4-5 hour job) I was called just two hours later saying the job was done, but I needed to have more work done... for another $200. (the mechanic broke the 2nd section while fixing the 1st problem) I refused to pay more, but now the exaust system is LOUDER after paying $350 than when it went in the shop. I could be wrong, but I went in there because of the$350 estimate, and assumed that my noisy exaust would be fixed for the price. I would think that $550 should be able to replace the whole section of pipe instead of replacing multiple small sections for a lot of money. And get this... after my complaining he offered a 3 year warrenty on the repairs, but not on the old pipe that the small repaired sections are attached to. I guess that this kind of repair is job security and would keep me coming back over and over to fix section after section over time.UPDATE After contacting corporate the shop offered a discount ($150 more than estimate) to complete the repair.
Jammed my oil dipstick when I went for an oil change...had no idea till my next oil change at a different shop... that shop pointed it out to me and said that it was jammed so far in that the whole thing had 2 be replaced...$200 bucks!... I will never ever go to Midas again! When I used to go here they NEVER rotate the tires as advertised....makes u wonder what else they are not doing...Ask for a rotation w/ the oil change....I bet that ur tires wont be rotated when u get ur car...and if they are its only because somebody from there probably read this review.
Horrible. Made me pay $200 for a battery change.Battery.... $130Battery Charge to change.....$26.99Labor (for the 5 minutes it takes to change it out)...$43Never called me to explain what was wrong.Unless you like getting ripped off never going back.
Friendly and quick service.
Classic scam artists. Dont get your inspection here, they will claim you need to pay $350 to $450 for something every time.
My tire light came on in my car, in 10 minutes they checked them all, added air to the low one, and I was on my way to work.
Great Job
Very expensive. Not recommended.
Good customer service
Unscrewing a screw for $30, while other mechanics do free inspection .dont go for it
Not very helpful
Overpriced. Way overpriced
Waste of time
It is a good workshop
In that place they are thieves charged me 350 to weld an escape from a corolla 05 ami nome they did not miss it but I go my wife ila in won me a crap in less than 45 minutes they did it ile charged 4 hours of work are some thieves noles I recommend the drooooooneeeeeessssss at all
