Ive spent years trying to find a mechanic (or dealership) that I would want to return to after the initial visit. Trust is important. I gave GN NW a try and was not disappointed. The many five star ratings align with my experience. The garage isnt much to look at, if you can even find it (on McGill just off Evergreen Way), but they do good work. There are other decent (four-star) garages in the area, but Ill be returning here as long as they are in business. Dan made excellent recommendations on break sets and charged me cost, quick repair of hatchback door without charge (I brought the actuator), and replaced a few hard to reach lights. If nothing else, since I own a Subaru, Ill be back every time one of my door lock actuators fail, which so far has been all five of them (some twice).

The most notable problem was a huge, ominous rumble that was causing the interior to be loud and rattle profusely. My dad (lots of mechanic experience) was unable to diagnose the source of the rumble. I took my car to GN Northwest last weekend to have some routine maintenance done and Dan noticed, diagnosed, and solved the loud noise without me even mentioning it. I recently took my BMW here for service and some repairs. The entire experience was great. I did some calling around beforehand, and they were actually able to save me some money compared to the cost of going to a BMW dealership. I arrived at the shop mid-morning and their lead mechanic, Dan, introduced himself and went over the list of things I wanted done to my car. He was really nice (funny too!) and said he would look over the rest of my car to check for any other problems. Later that afternoon my car was all done and Dan went over some minor issues with the car that he found. He fixed those things quickly and my car was all done. While I was waiting, I watched TV and checked out some of the cool cars in their showroom, too. Its a neat place!Im definitely coming back to this shop again if my car needs any repairs. Ultimately, I took my car there and they fixed it in 10 minutes, no charge. Sincere and honest mechanics are difficult to come by which is why I cant recommend this place enough!

Dan and the crew at GN Northwest are fantastic. Took my 07 GTI in for an axel replacement at 10AM, and they had it done by 4PM the same day. In the process they called for permission to fix my brake sensor, which I gave, and in the end they didnt even charge me for it. Axel replacement came out slightly cheaper than I was expecting as well. Really great people that wont try to screw you. Highly recommended!

This is hands down the best quality workmanship you can find, I am a very picky guy to. I bring everything I own there. Dan and the guys treat every car as if it was theirs and to me thats a huge deal, You know your car is always being pampered, the job is always done right the first time and everything down a zip tie is very neat and professional.

This is a 2 man shop. Very professional guys, I brought my 98 Cobra in to get motor mounts replaced, done within the day. Fixed my problem right away. My 2000 honda passport decided to break down. I checked and it had no spark. I ended up throwing 200 dollars worth of parts into it to only to get no where. I gave in and took it to a car shop. They had it for a day and told me they didnt know what was wrong and told me to take it to the dealership; probably the computer they said. A friend of mine told me about the great mechanics at GN Northwest.The guys at GN are very friendly and have excellent costumer service. Dan, the owner,I believe, knows how to run his business very well. Right away they gave me a couple ideas to start the car that the other shop had missed. After my car was there they got right to work testing almost anything electrical. It took them 2 hours to find my problem! and it took the other shop a whole day to find nothing. It ended up being a bad computer wire. Dan charged me very little even after all the work he put in. I was happy with the service. I recommend this shop to anyone with car problems! Very smart mechanics honest mechanics.

An absolute pleasure to work with, really a mechanic you can trust. I had brought my Kia Sedona in to get the brakes checked and more importantly, to fix my power steering checked out (turning was an incredibly difficult experience).The brakes were absolutely no problem, they got those changed out with no problem and were working just fine. Unfortunately, he didnt have the right tool to check on the power steering, so he ordered it and didnt charge me for any of the diagnostic work. When I brought it in again when he had the tool, it still wasnt quite right. So instead of changing out everything from the pump to the rack (which would have cost well over a thousand dollars), he decided to just go with what he as a professional was most likely the problem and change the pump (considerably less expensive). And now it works perfectly! The van steers and stops like its brand new.Overall a wonderful experience. Very polite, knowledgeable, and patient. Will really work to find what is wrong, not just push the most expensive option. I am definitely coming back here for anything car related, and you should too.

I had an EGR system that continued to produce a check engine light, and an emissions failure, even after I had replaced the EGR valve, vacuum regulator, and the pressure feedback sensor. Dan and his crew had it for only a few hours and it was fixed, with extreme confidence. It passed emissions on the first try after the work was completed, even with a waiver that would turn out to be completely unnecessary. The engine sounds great, and the check engine light hasnt come back. And the price was less than I expected. Thank you Dan.

Im an avid car enthusiast - always have been, and always will be. I run the car lot above Dans shop and I dont hesitate for a second to bring my own personal car to him for repairs or modifications. This guy knows his way around a motor and will go above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied. These guys modify and tune some serious high horsepower cars (which is why they are AWESOME), but they can work on anything and at a very reasonable rate. Ive spent tens of thousands of dollars at many shops here in WA and these guys rank right up there with the best of them.

Im a veterinary student and my husband is in the army, so we had to let a lot of service go on my car due to our budget. I was just stopping for gas in Everett on a trip from BC to Portland and my car wouldnt restart. Not knowing much about cars and being unfamiliar with the area, I used my phone to search for auto shops nearby. GN Northwest was both nearby and highly recommended. I called them and Dan offered to come by and have a quick look on his way to other errands, as a precursor to getting towed to his shop. He immediately spotted the problem, a loose wire, and fixed it right there at the gas station, free of charge! What a generous, honest and decent guy! I cannot endorse his services highly enough!

Ive known proprietor Dan Miller for many years, as hes been the car mechanic of choice for my parents, my wife, and myself. He previously replaced the motor on my 1990 Ford pickup truck, so I knew he was the man to do the same for my 1986 Mustang. Im the original owner and wouldnt entrust my almost-classic to just anyone.Dan went about the job thoughtfully, doing lots of online research and choosing not just the biggest motor but rather the one that performs and suits my needs best: a Ford racing 306 motor with numerous upgrades including aluminum heads, 303 cam, 340 hp, 350 foot pounds of torque. Dan is one very diligent mechanic.Dan is proud of his work on the car, and Im excited to start exhibiting it at car shows. I heartily recommend Dans GN Northwest shop: he is honest and does beautiful work at a reasonable price.

If anyone is looking for a really good car repair shop, I would definitely recommend GN Northwest. They work on a lot of high performance cars and race cars, but they also do work on regular cars, too.Dan is the main mechanic there and he is really nice. I am not great with car problems - in fact, Im pretty terrible with them (case in point, the other reviewer mentions Dan is good with American cars - I have no idea if my car is American. I do know that it is white). Im usually the one to have to make embarrassing noises in order to tell anyone whats going on with my car. I always worry that this lack of knowledge will result in my car turning to a pile of smoking rubble someday during a commute, but since I found Dan, I no longer have these worries. Dan is on top of it! Seriously, I wouldnt even consider going to anyone else. If youre looking for an excellent mechanic and a great guy, look no further.

I found GN through yelp. I dont know anything about cars, but i do know people and Dan is honest and trustworthy! There were a few things that he took care of. One problem i had only happened in hot ♨ weather, one of the brakes would lock up. I made an appt, he checked the calendar for a really hot day (august) he couldnt get it to lock up the first time. He wasnt sure what it was & wasnt going to throw parts at it. 2nd time he took it out, he was driving back to his shop and it did it! Omgosh its been a while dont remember, caliper slipped? Anyway, he kept in touch, very up front with pricing.

I just have to say that Dan at GN Northwest is an AUTO GOD! I have taken several of my cars to him in the past and when I was living in the Lake City Way area I had taken my car to 3 different places to have my breaks looked at becuase I was having problems and they all said my break were fine. Then when I moved back to Mukilteo and brought my car to Dan and finally I had answers. He was able to fix the problem right away.
