My car got backed into at work and the front bumper cover was damaged and needed to be replaced. The local Subaru dealer recommended Special Interest so that’s where I went. I recently bought a computer car that needed a fender and front bumper cover replaced and painted. I gotta say I am a little picky about my vehicles and I was very pleased with the finished product. After a car accident, I googled auto body shops in North Seattle area.  Special Interest Auto Body has good ratings on both Yelp and Google.  So I called to make an appointment to get an estimate for repairs but a representative told me that I may just walk in anytime during their business hour without the appointment.  Super, thats even better!When I took my car to Special Interest, Alisa welcomed me and immediately performed the estimate by taking tons of pictures.  She also collected my auto insurance information so she could send the estimate along with the pictures to the insurance company upon my request.  Everything was all done in 10 minutes.  It was much faster than I expected.Alisa also emailed me a copy of the estimate for my review in case if I want to take my car to the other body shops.Special Interest Auto Bodys estimate seemed very reasonable.  However, I couldnt get my car fixed at the Special Interest because my insurance company has its own authorized body shop.Anyway, I strongly recommend anyone to take his or her car to Special Interest.  They are very professional, and Alisa was the best!

I brought my 2020 F150 in for repair after I lost a battle with a gate. Like most, my vehicle means a lot and I nervous about getting work done, if you know anything about colors, each one has an unique tint to it. Everyone at Special Interest Auto Body was courteous, and treated me like we have known each other for decades. I was given a time line of about two weeks for repair, mostly because of the parts that needed to be ordered and from drop off to pick up it was 7 days. When I arrived the truck looked new! Not only was the work flawless, they even cleaned the inside. After my walk around with John, and him explaining the few challenges I knew that I made the right choice. I write very few reviews, it takes a lot to impress me and I felt that they did a phenomenal job. I hope to never use them again, however if I do, I know where to go.

I was involved in a accident in my 2013 Scion FR-S causing front end damage. Initially I took my vehicle to a big name collision repair shop. They told me they didn’t have anyone who specialized in aftermarket lights, wiring, etc. They also told me they wouldn’t be able to get insurance to cover it and that I’d have to pay out of pocket. I was shocked a collision center could not do repairs involving electrical or work with insurance companies so I called Special interest, and they instantly put my mind at ease. They worked with me, my schedule and my cars needs. They communicated everything very well, and ensured they would put this through my insurance trying to get as much covered as they could. Meeting everyone at Special interest, they talked to me about work they’ve done, even to their personal vehicles and didn’t treat me like I didn’t know what I was talking about (the last shop did, maybe because I am young and a female). Here, I was treated like one of the guys. 😊 They completed the repair quickly, everything was covered, and my baby was put back together, clean and ready to go. I highly suggest this shop! They are amazing!

Made an appointment for Friday and dripped my car off. Was told 4 days but that they would confirm when they looked further and they would give me a call with a more concrete time line. They never called. On Wednesday I called them. They told me they would check and call back. They didnt, I called them.to find out it would be ready Thursday. On Thursday I got a call at almost 5 pm to tell me my car wasnt going to be ready until Friday. When I picked my car up I asked if the alignment had been checked and nobody knew anything for sure. They deferred to it being Geicos fault but I had asked both Geico and them. Overall it was not a good experience.

The work seems all in order, just annoyed that I was handed the keys without a proper walk through of the work they did.

I brang my car there for repair and they CRASHED my car they were honest tho and fixed the damage but thats not it they took almost 2 MONTHS to get my car back for a front bumper and side panel replacement and than my back spare tire which they had to use because of some flat tires on arrival the parts that come with the car that help lift the car in case of an emergency were all thrown around and he denies everything before I can just finish and say I want to just make sure everything there to lift the car in case of emergency thats my main concern but after all Shayne was very helpful tho and fixed the situation so it only took me noticing the damage sure which is why Im so angry if I was you Id take everything out of my car and take pictures so if anything goes wrong youve got proof too and also John was so helpful if I can rate him alone it would be 5 stars all around he was so helpful and even gave me more help than my own Insurance company but all together I rate 2.5

My car got hit and special interest fixed it up like new! They returned the car to me (not only perfectly fixed) but way cleaner than I left it! They went above and beyond in work and also getting me the genuine parts I wanted. I felt like they cared that I got my car fixed how I wanted it, and were prepared to handle the insurance company on my behalf, but there didnt end up being any issues and it all went really smooth. **UPDATE**Today I noticed a BIG issue on the front passenger side corner of my truck.The headlight is under the fender cutout when it should be on top of it. Also, the gap between the fender and bumper cover is off. Most likely due to the incorrectly installed fender.Im taking it back tomorrow.Well, they fixed the headlight problem. They really need to work on the QC.Im really hoping that I wont find anything else.

***UPDATE***: A month later.... I had to contact this shop yet again looking for parts from my vehicle. I was able to drive my car from the scene of the accident, and even the responding officer recommended for me to drive it home from the scene. Now after this shop tore apart my car, leaving 19 Ziploc bags of nuts, bolts, and screws they removed, it doesnt run. It has now been found that there are fuses and relays missing from my car. When I called the shop to ask them about these parts, the owner responded with wanting me to email him pictures of the missing parts, and using a condescending tone asked me if I had their email address to send them the pictures of the missing parts. When I expressed my frustration to the owner about my car running before they got their hands on it he told me my car was found to be a total loss, which I interrupted him by saying because of what your shop did, and the owner hung up on me for being upset with him. I immediately called back and when the owner answered the phone he spoke to me as if I were a 7 year old child and asked me if I was ready to listen to him. He then he proceeded to talk down to me about my original review (below) of his shop. I was finally able to get the email address from him when I, again, interrupted his rant about my review. The owner of this shop completely lacks business etiquette and professionalism.Save yourself time, energy, and frustration. These people are idiots... They were supposed to do an estimation on my car following an accident, and they removed to many parts causing the price of repairs to sky rocket and my car ended up totaled by my insurance company. When I bought my car back from them and the tow truck picked it up for me it was delivered to my desired location without my fenders that had ZERO damage to them due to the accident (no need for them to remove them from my car). I had the car delivered to my dads place because he is an auto body mechanic and paint tech, and he was not impressed by what this repair shop did to my car. The Interest in this repair shops name is for the interest they have in their own pockets being lined by innocent peoples insurance companies.

First they have gone way above and beyond for me. I worked directly with the owner and he treated me like family. They not only fixed my car to brand new they made sure that all my paint matched on my drivers side of my car. They replaced my drivers side wheel for me as well and I had a ratel in my hard top and they fixed that. They went so far above and beyond for me. I highly recommend this body shop. The owner and his team takes great pride in the work they do and not just that but making sure they take care of there customers. I really appreciate all they have done for me and I would recommend to all. They will fix your car better then before it was hit. Tell your friends this is the place to go. Thank you to Shane and his team for taking the time to put up with me calling everyday and going the extra mile for me.

If I could give the people in the repair shop a separate review I would. My vehicle looks like I was never hit, so they did great. However the people behind the desk are another story, zero stars. Save yourself any issues and spend your money at a more serving business.

I normally dont give reviews but I am on this place because I bought a new vehicle and 7 months later someone hit me. I did a lot of research and picked this company based on other recommendations. I talked to Shane the owner when I came in for a estimate very nice guy and told him Im very picky and wanted to know details, he actually set me up with Steve Harper mgr. who kept me informed day by day as to what was happening with my vehicle, who again was a super nice guy and the receptionist Ronda very very nice lady!! If my vehicle ever were to get in an accident I would use them again and definitely recommend them to anyone who wants excellent work done. I guess thats why their name is Special Interest.

Met with the owner about getting a new SRT8 bumper on my Dodge Charger. Within a week all of the parts had arrived and I took my car back to get everything painted and installed. The matched paint is absolutely flawless and the color is perfect, amazing fitment on all of the panels, and they even mounted an aftermarket license plate holder for me. The entire time my car was away from me was less than two days. The service was phenomenal and they always had great communication. Highly recommend Special Interest Auto Body!

The staff treated me like family. My parked car was hit by a state farm customer and once I got the claim filed they dealt with the insurance company so that I didnt have to. For the time they saved me, the amazing work they did, and the level of service this business deserves nothing less than 5 stars.

They wouldnt do the work on my rig because of some aftermarket bedliner Id had applied to my rocker panels to protect from Rock chips and such when on trails. Apparently they had worked on someones rig before that had it and that customer kept making them redo the work. Due to slight color differences in the new stuff and what he had already on his vehicle. Supposedly they tried 5 times to match the color. The customer wanted it to look exactly the same but wouldnt pay to have it all completely removed and replaced so that it would match. His insurance would also only cover the repair area. So the owner wont allow them to do the work. The employees were very friendly though and thoroughly explained the issue to me. They suggested another shop that they knew would do the work. That shop did excellent work. So, A plus on their customer service.

They actually pulled out five (5) door dings with paintless dent repair. Those little dents werent even in their scope of work. They just fixed em, as reflexively as vacuuming the carpets.Of course, the body and paint work from my accident was also flawlessly performed.In my book, Special Interest earns around 12 out of 5 stars. They are peerless.

Special Interest is nothing shy of amazing! They do flawless work. Only place Ill take my car for body work! My car has been here 3 different times and I always get my car back in better shape than pre accident! If you want immaculate paint match and body work, look no further! Theyve done both fenders, my front bumper, and my rear hatch (wagon) and you would never guess its not all original since it was blended so well with the rest of the car. Shane and all his employees (especially the two wonderful ladies at the front counter!) Are absolutely fabulous.

Well long story short. My garage and car decided to have a disagreement. Needless to say my garage won the argument hence Special Interest Auto. The guys were GREAT! Appreciate the work done and the professional and personal service received!

I have used this autobody shop before through my employer (Providence Medical Center) and they have been fantastic. They go the extra mile in everything that they do, and not a lot of places are inclined to do that nowadays. I had some work done again recently and I can tell that the people who work here are genuinely happy with what they do. This is generally a reflection on the owner (Shayne Hedahl) and/or management, who I have had the pleasure of meeting this time around. I have found him to be very kind, honest and ethical. I will not hesitate to bring all my auto body needs to them, as well as recommend them every time to people who need it.

Update: they fixed the window. They found a rubber piece that holds the window in place had come off. Now my rear passenger side window, which I have never had any kind of issues with, and they didnt perform any work on, now makes a loud clunk when I roll it down. Im almost convinced that they caused this out of retaliation. I do not trust these guys to ever touch any vehicle of mine ever. Ill be taking it to the dealership to have them look at it and see if there has been any tampering.My truck has literally been falling apart since getting it back from them for a small dent in the door. I have taken my truck back to them at least 3 times, and its about to be a 4th time after they open back up this Monday. They get 2 stars instead of 1 only because they have been very friendly about it. My truck got hit and they replaced the skin on my door and replaced and fixed a couple things inside the door. Im not being super picky. I do love my truck, and I just want it to be the way it was before I got hit.Since getting my truck back I have had several trim pieces randomly poping out of place and falling off. One big rubber trim piece above the door, about 2 inches wide by about 4 feet long started peeling back and almost blew away while I was driving on the freeway. I had to immediately pull over on the side of a busy freeway to grab the trim piece before it was gone forever, or worse cause damage or an accident. The speed limit was 70mph. Can can only imagine what a big piece like that can do at those speeds.I have also taken it back for my window jamming and not wanting to go up or down. The guy put some wd40 in the window jams, and it goes up and down now. He said it was from it drying up and sitting out in the lot for a while, not sure about that, all the other windows worked perfectly fine. And now there is a terrible rattling noise when the window is down and I close the door. Something in there is not right, not fixed, or tightened up. None of my other doors make that rattling sound.Also, I dont know if there are factory sound dampers in the doors, but whenever someone drives by me on the left side, where they worked, it sounds like my window or door is open. It annoying, and my truck has always been quiet before. I dont get that noise from my right side.Then there is the paint, its not terrible, but it doesnt quite match. There seems to be way to much metallic in the paint. When the sun hits it, it looks very glittery. They told me its because its a new paint job, and that the old paint just needs to be polished to match the new paint. I dont ever remember my truck being that sparkly when I bought it brand new with only 17 miles on it. They told me that they dont even use factory paint codes. They use a special camera to match the existing paint. So I dont know how it is possible for the new paint to have that much metallic. The old paint could use a good polishing, so well see how it turns out once I get that done, but Im skeptical.Final thoughts. There seems to be a total lack of quality oversite. I know they were super busy at the time, and had a huge backlog of work, but that is no excuse for the lack of quality. They need to slow down and make sure they do things right. When I pulled over on the freeway to grab the trim piece, you could see how dirty it was under there. Of course a tiny piece of sticky tape isnt going to hold that big piece in place. If they would have simply cleaned the surface first and used a better adhesive, the whole situation could have been avoided, and they wouldnt be wasting their time on rework. And a simple functional test on the windows to make sure that they work, and work properly, not just good enough.I cannot recommend this place to anyone for any kind of work.

Had an accident and had them do an estimate on it. Waited 2 weeks, found out they never sent my information to the insurance. Had to call and ask them to. Then they call back and say I didnt have a claim. So I had to have the insurance call. Another week went by found out the insurance approved it four days prior and the shop was supposed to call me, they never did. I finally go in there and they try to blame it all on the insurance. At that point I had enough, I will not be going back and will not recommend them to anyone.

Great shop rear ended someone got me right in and started working on it same day. This is my second time bringing one of my cars here because they did such a good job on my Acura tl. Very friendly staff who take care of you. Recommend you give them a shot because both my experiences have been top notch

They gave low price for free estimate for $1500 to get you. Then add double price later for more hiden part damage $2800. if you dont want to fix it,they charge about $500 to put it back togerther,otherwise take as is for about $300,not drivable,need tow.
