These folks are amazing. We needed a refrigerator ASAP on a Friday of a holiday weekend. They gave us a fair deal and delivered our new Frigidaire the same day. You don’t get that kind of service from the big box stores! It’s great to be able to deal at a local store!

Per usual the folks at Basil have gone above and beyond, washer went down, only took them 2 days to diagnose the problem, find the part get it ordered and installed. I expected to take a hit because Mike and the guys put some hustle into getting my machine fixed, but nope I got a discount instead. On top of it all my wife and I work nights so we sleep in, Ken had the washer fixed in about 20 mins this morning, if you go anywhere besides Basil for an appliance, youre losing.

We called Basil Appliance to repair our refrigerator/freezer. Jacob came and quickly diagnosed the problem. Jacob was friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. We were so appreciative that he wore a mask while working in our home during the pandemic. A part had to be ordered and Jacob returned and completed the repair. Basil calls you ahead to give you a 2 hour window and they were right on time. Great company and great service from Jacob!!

Our fridge broke down and we called Basil, as we always do. Jacob came that day and took the time to explain what was wrong and how things worked (or should have worked). When the part came, Jacob installed it quickly and helped clean out areas that were previously inaccessible to us.We also appreciate all the SARS-CoV2 precautions they take at Basil. Just had Jacob out to diagnose and repair our garage refrigerator. He arrived when promised, diagnosed the problem immediately, ordered the part and returned in a day to replace the part. Jacob is knowledgeable, professional and personable and Id recommend you ask for him if you have a problem.

I had the opportunity to meet Mike and Jeff at the new North Port location for Basil Appliances. I felt like I had a pretty strong working knowledge of appliances and their features but I was seriously wrong! Basil Appliances is AMAZING! Basil is your Home-Town appliance company with local people you can reach on the phone (or email) to order a new appliance or call for details - they are priced like Home Depot or Lowes - except, instead of being handled by an employee at a large box store - you speak with a real person who takes you through through the process from the first call to installation. As well, Mike Wells & his crew are there after the sale to make sure that everything was to your satisfaction. I cannot speak highly enough about Basil Appliance.

Absolutely thrilled with the service I received on my washing machine. Acted completely dead, no hope. Mike sent over Jacob the service tech. He spent about 45 minutes in the machine, and it now runs like the day I bought it. HIGHLY recommend this business!

Basil ApplianceOur Microwave quit on a Saturday, got to Basil shortly before they closed, purchased a replacement, which they had in stock and scheduled the install for the following Monday.Their service people were on time, very careful and had the new one installed in less than an hour! My husband and I went into Basil Appliance on 4/4/17 to purchase a washer and dryer. Larry was very patient and helpful in explaining the differences in the machines we were looking at despite the fact that we came in just before closing time. He wrote up the sale and promised delivery on 4/6/17. The machines arrived early morning on the promised day and were professionally installed in place. Prices were as good if not better than the big box stores on the same models we purchased and I have to Larry went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. We will be returning to Basil for our range, refrigerator and microwave.

My husband and I are away when we got a call that our dryer was not working. I went on line to find a repairman and checked out the reviews of Basil Appliance in Englewood. Based on what I read we decided to give them a call. Right from the beginning they were professional. Returned phone calls, got us quickly on their schedule, went to the house, fixed the dryer and called my husband. Everything is working. We would highly recommend them.

Bought a GE washer and dryer for a condo we recently purchased. Since construction of the condo wasnt finished on time, they were glad to hold it until we could schedule a delivery and install. Great experience all around. Ordering was simple. Installation was on time, neat and clean, and professional. They made sure I was completely satisfied with the machines. I wouldnt get an appliance anywhere else.

Because of the hour, they could not schedule me that day, but in the morning on Saturday their serviceman called and set a delivery time. He was on time and was able to repair the unit that day. Basil Appliance is very knowledgeable about their products and will help you select the right ones for you. We have a very limited space in our condo for a stackable washer dryer and did not want the tiny 2.2 size, they helped us fit a full size set in our space. I have been using the washer/dryer for several days now and very pleased.

Not sure if the customers research their prices, but Basil prices are extremely higher than Best Buy and Home Depot. Please be careful with the owners. This is a place where Jekyll and Hyde reside.

Great service, competitive prices!Larry at Basil Appliance offered a free loaner refrigerator with free pick up and delivery until the model we ordered was delivered. Our frig was just about to quit and so this was extremely important to save all of our food. Prices were competitive with big box stores. We went back and bought a microwave and Larry helped make sure that the model we picked out would fit in the space and the pre-drilled holes from the previous one. Let us take our time and shop around, no pressure. Gave us price and model info in writing for both purchases so we could compare to other appliance stores.

Needed a small hose to vent my microwave. Only needed 18 inches. They were very polite and helpful and wouldnt even let me pay for the small piece that they dont normally even sell. Will be dealing with them in the future.

We had a water leak from the ice maker in our refrigerator. The repairman didnt fix it and wouldnt push the refrigerator back in place. Not bad for a $63 charge. He had an attitude from the time he walked in. We called someone else. That was a good decision. Calling Basils for service was a bad one. I hope you have better luck.

Working with them brought me back to the good old days when you received personalized service from small business owners who really cared about building relationships with their customers and making sure they were 100% satisfied.I own a vacation rental property on Palm Island and needed to replace all 4 of my major kitchen appliances... refrigerator, range, microwave and dishwasher. I had a very small window of time as I had a new guest arriving in 2 days and a very limited budget. To make things worse, I live in Chicago and was trying to get this done remotely. At first, I didnt even think of calling Basil because I just assumed their prices would be beyond my limit. I went on-line and checked out Lowes, Home Depot, Best Buy... all the big box stores. What a nightmare! They dont make it easy. And even when I landed on a suite that was in my price range, I couldnt get all the pieces delivered together (some were on back order) and because they all use 3rd party vendors to deliver, set up and haul away, it was a logistical nightmare! None of them could guarantee delivery that week let alone in 48 hours nor did they know if the delivery could be made in a van or pick-up truck rather than a big box truck. For those of us who live on Palm Island, getting a big box truck on the ferry costs a whopping $600!!!So I called Basil just to see if they could work within my budget. OMG! I wished I had called them first! Not only did they have a Whirlpool 4 piece set in stock at a price that was actually $300 lower than the lowest price I found at Lowes, but they could set me up for delivery the next day and bring it over in a regular pick-up truck, which only costs me $38 on the ferry! Additionally, they have their own delivery guys so their installation and haul away fees were actually less than Lowes & Best Buy (Home Depot doesnt even deliver to Palm Island!)The folks at Basil are really great. Mike, the owner went above and beyond to make sure I got the products I needed at a competitive price with service that was truly exceptional. Next time, I won’t even waste time on the big box stores. I’m calling Mike at Basil!

Called basil appliance around 10 am because my fridge broke down overnight - by 11:45 they had delivered ( to an island ) and installed new fridge ! I was not home for the delivery but to my surprise when I arrived, they had placed all my food items in the new refrigerator ! Totally amazing service !

Absolute top notch company! We bought a kitchen full of appliances from Basil and we love them all. About 2 years into ownership the sealed system on the fridge had a leak. Whirlpool told us it was out of warranty so I called Larry to see if anything could be done. Larry went out of his way to make all the necessary calls to his reps and whirlpool customer service and got us a brand new fridge at no charge to us. He delivered us a loaner to use in the meantime and when the new fridge arrived he swapped everything out for us. We could not be more thankful for their customer service at Basil appliance. This is exactly why you buy your appliances from an appliance dealer and not a big box store! Thank you Larry and thank you Basil appliance for standing behind the products you sell.

Buyer beware! Best in Englewood does not mean anything because how many other appliance places are there in Englewood? Larry uses an antiquated system to determine appliance prices. He goes to the back room and comes up with some price and writes it on carbon paper. He is very unorganized and his prices are way higher . His sale price that he told us to come back and check was 200$ higher than Home Depot per appliance. He uses bait and switch. I wonder how many other senior citizens he has ripped off.
