I was actually pretty disappointed; given all the high rated reviews for this place, I was hoping for a better experience. In attempting to sell a 650$ 10k wg engagement ring, I was quoted $100 which is typically what every other pawn shop in town offers. Upon entering the shop, you are faced with two doors. The first door you open then leads to a wrought iron pathway to which you are greeted then asked to come in through the iron door. The place is filled with older antiques. There were no lights which was slightly uncomfortable except for the ones that illuminated the gadgets behind the glass counter. It felt almost creepy but then again, maybe that’s done to cut costs, save energy, who knows. I understand, these places are looking to make a profit but after reading several of these reviews, I’m a bit skeptical as to whether they are credible. Personally, my overall opinion on this place is it’s just another pawn shop. Don’t expect to sell anything (jewelry in my opinion) of extravagant value for top dollar. You’re better off auctioning it or returning it back to the original seller.

I came here to sell some of my jewelry after looking up a couple places in the area. Like others have said, they do give the best prices here. They quoted me at $1,000 for an engagement ring, where all the pawn shops in the area wouldnt give me more than $350. They are also very friendly, and have a lot of interesting things in their shop. Let me first start with, I felt it necessary to welcome 2020 in good terms. I needed get rid of old stuff — specifically if it was weighing me down. I had been holding on to an engagement ring for the past six years or so, when my ex called off our wedding and we went our separate ways. Anyhow, short story— I ended up paying my ex fiancé for the ring so I could keep it (he wanted it back when he broke up with me).After so many years and listening to so many several side comments both good and bad regarding my decision to keep the ring—I finally came to realization I didn’t need it in my life.A few months ago I took the first step and sent it out for a bidding through a well known website, but I didn’t end up giving it up. I didn’t think I was getting my money’s worth. So I decided to keep it.End of December came and I did some more inner thinking—just told myself it had to go even if I didn’t get what I thought it should be valued at.I always do my research and let me tell you— El Paso Gold Buyers was my first choice given the reviews. Unfortunately, I came one day but it was closed due to holidays. I decided, “well, it doesn’t hurt to try Johnson Jewelers and obtain an estimate.” Ultimately, I got an estimate which was not very credible. The person who assisted me was not all that knowledgeable. Given I was in no hurry, I decided to wait until after holidays to go back to Gold Buyers. Must say... So, worth the wait!I must start with the fact that I was only able to make it around the time they closed on Saturday, so I thought I’d call just to verify if they did close at 3:30 PM since sometimes businesses don’t update hours regularly or maybe it was a previous holiday schedule. The phone call was well received, very professional. I called and asked if they would in fact be closing at 1530 because I was about to head there but would make it exactly at 1530 hours. When they told me they did in fact close at 1530, I kindly said, I could just come on Monday instead, but he then proceeded to ask what I was going in for. I explained and Matthew, who I believe to be who answered the phone, kindly told me he would wait for me. That was so nice of him!When I got there, exactly at 1530, lol, he kindly greeted me and we proceeded with the inquiry. I met with Tim, who kindly looked at my ring carefully. I explained the situation and he gave me a fair quote. I honestly, don’t know if I could have gotten any better deals but it definitely was better than Johnson Jewelers. :-) By at least two hundred dollars in difference.I am pleased with the service they provided and no joke... I think they know practically my whole love life, we conversed a while. I felt bad because I felt so comfortable talking that I felt was keeping them there longer than need be.P.S. Tim has a great sense of humor! His brother and assistant Matthew also have a very friendly and humorous personality.
