Excellent service at the Durham store with Patricia Keith .she is always willing to help and always has a smile you won’t have to worry about getting the write shoe. She is there to help . You won’t ever be disappointed with her service or her recommendations. I love this store
My visit to New Balance Durham was very good. The sales person was very knowledgeable and professional. Thanks
Is this place under new management and employment yet?The Durham store does not honor the return policy even after 1-2 days. The staff are incredibly rude and they will gaslight you into thinking something was wrong with your return when there was no wear and tear. Ive worked in retail and I can tell they are insecure about their low sales. Rather than blaming it on their customers, have better service!Go to the Raleigh store instead.
Helpful whether in store or ordering by phone. Willing to order shoes and ship to home address if not in-stock.
Expensive, but worth the money. Your comfort is very important to them.
Tequan took the time to go thru every shoe I desired. Super helpful, quick and helped me find the perfect shoe. I’m picky and this was a great experience!
I visited around the end of August, before going on a long hiking trip in the national parks in Utah. The salesman was very helpful and informative. He helped me find the best shoes for my need: mens trail walking 1400. He described them as high-top trail sneakers, but the website says boots. He said these would support my ankles, which often get turned. He also informed me that I needed arch support, so I ordered some orthotic insoles for them. The combination worked superbly. Almost every time I go hiking with my wife, I mention how much I like these shoes. I never knew trail shoes could be so comfortable. And I havent turned my ankle since getting them. They were a bit expensive, but well worth it.
Excellent store. This is the best kids shoe selection I have seen in Durham or Chapel Hill. They have kids shoes in regular and wide and do custom fitting. The store has a great selection in stock and access to a huge warehouse for additional sizes.
I am vary happy with this place pat woods was a big help!
TEAM, ESPECIALLY OWNER, IS AMAZING!!!Heres our story: My mom went in to get fitted for running shoes several weeks ago. She told the associate she normally wears a 10 in her regular shoes. This was her first pair of actual running shoes. The associate brought her a 10. She did several training runs, and her toes actually hit the end of the shoe. Come to find out, the associate didnt actually check out the fit for her. I ended up coming over to check her shoes and they were WAY too small. Any associate working in a running store that is even a tiny bit knowledgeable knows that you need to go up a half to a full size for running shoes. My mom didnt know that and the associate didnt bother asking any questions or checking. My mom is a slightly special case because she has to have her left shoes lifted, due to a leg length difference. Originally, we were told that because the shoe was lifted, they couldnt be exchanged. Luckily Mark, the owner, saw my review and went above and beyond to make it right. He made sure he was at the store when my mom came back. He fitted her into the proper shoe and she is ECSTATIC.Thank you, Mark, so much, for taking great care of us. We will DEFINITELY be back for more shoes!!
Excellent. It’s a real shoe store-the sales staff actually measure your feet and know their products. Well worth the 45 minute drive. Will go back. Your feet with thank you!!!
Had awesome experience at new balance at southpoint! Received superb customer service ! Service catered to me and my family! Kudos to Mark for taking great care of us!
Fantastic customer service. They really do take all the time and attention needed to find the right shoe and more specifically fit. Had an issue with a purchase and they went the extra mile to make it right.
Awesome customer service and selection for kids with extra-wide feet. Very patient with small kids - very kid friendly
I love, love, love my new New Balance 980s! Ill never leave it up to chance to buy a pair of running shoes on my own in a big box store. The knowledgeable staff at New Balance Durham took the time to properly measure and fit me with a shoe they knew I would be happy in for a long time. Thanks!
I was a huge fan of New Balance shoes for 20 years or more. O er the last few years I find them more cheaply made and sizes all over the place. I bought 2 pair of the exact same shoes and one fits great the other uncomfortable as hell. Took them back and the young man said nothing he could do and said it must be my feet and in no way was it the shoes. I walked across the parking lot and bought a fantastic pair of American made Shoes from a salesman who knows the products he sell and is also extremely knowledgeable about foot issues.
Arnett was professional and knowledgeable. He fitted me for work shoes, hiking boots and inserts. My podiatrist recommended going to the New Balance store to get fitted. It is well worth the time and money.
Worst store ever. Manager does not care, must of learned it from store owner who does not care wont even call you to find out the problem. I knew what shoe I wanted the lady in the Durham, NC store refused to get me that shoe tried to sell me a shoe $50.00 more expensive. Would not even get me the right size or width. Complained to store manager and she did not care. Left message for owners of store no courtesy call back or anything. Do not shop there.
Service is terrible. We waited for 25 minutes to be helped before we gave up and left. We were skipped over twice so the associates could help people who had arrived after us and were never even acknowledged.Got the same product at Rack Room at the mall for a better price
I love New Balance shoes! They are the only brand that accommodates my wide feet and give me the support I need. Especially since both my achillies were ruptured playing basketball. NB seems to give me the extra support needed.Great product and wonderful staff. Marks team rocks
At this store just now. Was about to go into the mall and go to journeys to get what I needed. I saw the New Balance store and thought, now I dont have to go into the mall cause they would have the shoe I wanted. Entered the store and this Caucasian lady was right behind me. The sales clerk (young white boy) acknowledge the lady, but not me. He did not bothered to ask me if he could help me. He just looked right pass me and said, can I help you to her. I was just so dumb founded that I just went about my business. Even after he finish with her he still didnt bother to acknowledge me. I was the only black female in the store. I can understand the other associate who was up front assisting someone on the phone and at the counter. . When I saw that he wasnt going to acknowledge me I just left. This store is not worthy of getting my money. Its SAD that we as PEOPLE still live in this world of racist people. Owners of any store should make an example out of people like this and fire their ass. When you work in places like this you have to be able to assist ALL people and not those of a certain race.
Our running group met here to run, the staff here is always nice and helpful.
I agree with Ken except my encounter was with the clerk, Chris. He was condescending, and rude, basically a jerk. Good luck returning a pair of shoes. After being sold the best shoe for me I could only get a store credit. What good is that since the best shoe for me hurt.Their custom fit is the metal device I remember the salesmen using when I was child. I dont remember if it worked then but it doesnt work now.New Balance is a brand I have used but the Durham store is not up to the expected standards.
Yes, I have been enjoying my 1260s and fresh foam trainers. But I must say that Mark, the store manager, has a customer (and advocate) for life. There are two amazing examples of top-notch service I can share:1) Last summer I was experiencing problems with my feet. My podiatrist recommended I visit New Balance to get the right shoe. I tried out 3 shoes before settling on the right one. And they were sooo accommodating.2) Ive had inserts in my trainers, which I wear HARD. The inserts wore out pretty quickly (more a reflection on me than the product). I popped in today to see if it was normal. And it definity wasnt normal. Mark, immediately made sure I got the a propper replacement. He (and the rest of the staff) have always been amazing. They know customer service. They know how to make customers happy. I only wish there were more stores to give them.
I have bought several pairs of shoes at this store, but will not be going back. On my last visit, I encountered a salesman who insisted that his 30 years of experience qualified him to know how the shoes felt on my feet. He was arrogant and obnoxious. I like the New Balance product and, if I am forced to return to this store, I will certainly avoid this boor.
Sales person Chris was great!
Carole was great! Customer service is top notch!
Love the shoes, dislike this store.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff with great shoes.
Very disappointing service. Came to return a pair of shoes I had bought online. Store brushed me off as they did not want to deal with the hassle. Online return policy mentioned that if you are not satisfied that you have the option of returning in-store. Store turned me away citing that the shoes had been worn. The shoes were in new condition but of course they were worn, that’s how I knew I wanted to return them. Store associate said their return policy was different as they were a franchise. Horrible customer service, recommend folks go down a couple stores to Feet Fleet. Way better service and very good return policy.
