They sent me an email with pictures of everything that i needed fixed on my truck and even pictures of all the test strips showing what fluids needed to be changed— so detailed and professional! I went here to get my car inspected a few weeks ago. Everyone was so kind! They had great communication and sent me emails/text updates while I was waiting. At the end (after my car passed inspection) they made me aware of a few things that they could fix on my car, but they weren’t forceful or anything like most car places are. Fixed a starting problem that had been going on for over a year

Massengills is great! I found out last minute before a long car ride (12 hours) that my AC was broken. Nikki was able to fit me in and fix it. The part needed for my car was out of stock in a lot of shops and the owner went out of his way to get the parts that my car needed at low cost. Thank you! My 12 hour ride was nice and cool.

Wow, what a great place to get my car worked on. Nikki is a super efficient mechanic and was very empathetic to the issues I was having. She really took the time to explain to me what was going on with my car and what needed to be done right at that time, versus what I could wait on in order to save up some money. It is also very refreshing to have a female mechanic work on my car! No pressure from Jimmy, the service writer, up front, to spend unnecessary money, either. And Wayne, the owner, always has a smile on his face and is hilarious. What a hardworking team, dedicated to their customers cars and well-being. I was just in their shop this week for a warranty repair on my power steering pump and some preventive maintenance - trans flush, a belt, etc. on my 2007 Honda. First time customer and I can tell you the experience was great - its def what everyone else is saying. Honest, quick, and affordable. Really good guys. They were able to diagnose the car quickly and the following day I was good to go. Dont hesitate to use them for your repairs.

Ive used this shop several times and have always been satisfied with their service until my last visit. I brought my vehicle in for inspection and was told I needed a tail light and a break light among other things. I took care of the items needed to pass inspection myself since they were simple repairs. However when I went to change the bad break light I noticed all the break lights were functioning properly. The tail light was bad but not the break light. I assume the tech wrote up the break light too in order to get a little more labor $. I brought my vehicle back and it passed inspection. I was very rushed for time so I didnt say anything to the owner or give him a chance to right the wrong. I dont believe everyone there to be dishonest by any means but someone that day was. In hindsight I wish I wouldve told the owner so he would be be aware. I would probably give them another chance.

I called to make an appointment for a state inspection and was surprised when they offered me a time the very next day! Extremely prompt and friendly service. When you go in, the waiting area has a nice community feel - you can tell this shop has regulars, and people know and trust the staff, from the mechanics to the front desk to the owners. I requested Nikki because she has worked on my Honda Civic 2007 several times in the past and always does an absolutely phenomenal job, going above and beyond to make sure I’m taken care of. Massengill’s is awesome. They’re straightforward and don’t condescend or try to sell you on things you don’t need, and Nikki the master tech is really great at problem-solving. My AC compressor was starting to smoke, and she figured out a way to bypass it with a smaller belt, which saved about $1500.

Its hard to overstate how incredible a mechanic Nikki is. Ive been taking my Honda Civic to her for 3 years now and she never fails to go above and beyond. One thing that really impresses me, other than her efficiency (read: respect for your time), is that unlike at so many places, she doesnt talk jargon down to me - she actually explains WHY I might need certain repairs. And she doesnt hesitate to let you know which repairs are actually important versus which ones other places might just try to upsell you. Its also the little touches - Im pretty sure last time I had my car serviced, she even changed the clock to the correct time, because I was too lazy to after daylight savings 😂 I have finally found a mechanic I can trust, 100%, and that is priceless! Family-feel place that gave me thorough, honest and good quality work on my 1997 Toyota Camry. That car would probably not be here if it werent for the work that Nikki, one of their employees, has done on it! I requested Nikki to do a diagnostic and oil change because she has always done such a good job with my car and with educating me on my car and how to best care for it for a good deal. She, as well as the impression I get from this place, are not out to swindle or cheat. They would rather let you know how to do a simple fix than to hide information and make money out of you as previous auto mechanics at other places have. They have great customer service and explained to me everything on my bill. I no longer just go for the cheapest service when it comes to a vehicle I depend on. They are worth waiting for an appointment any day.

The best service Ive ever experienced for my (15 yr old) Volkswagen. Massengills provides small family business feel with great technical knowledge and communication. I dropped my car at 8 am and had it back the same day after 3 pretty big repairs. I didnt have to wait for parts delivery and was treated so well. Love this place!

Went to get a diagnostics only to pay $130 for them to tell me not one problem I could get fix for my car to run basically took my money worst I’ve experienced gave me codes only which I got done for free at advanced auto took it to get codes read no codes I was given on paper even popped up 🤔 but a code that wasn’t even give from them did which ultimately was the prob why couldn’t they just say hey it’s x y z it’s not like a mechanic with so much experience as they explain on their website wouldn’t know simple issues with a car dealing with them all day I just felt I got robbed‼️‼️‼️‼️ I’m understanding the other bad reviews now yeah 130 for a piece of paper 😅

They do a great job here. I came here on the recommendation of my uncle, who has used Wayne over 20 years. They have helped keep my 14 year old car running in good shape the past three years. Also, they are great about letting you know when a repair needs to be done and what it will cost if it is not urgent, so you can plan for the expense.

Had a good experience with Massengills on a significant repair to my vehicle. Ryan explained the issue clearly in terms that I could understand and gave me options for the repair ranging from cheap and temporary to more costly yet permanent. Based on some research, the proposed costs looked reasonable as well and I didnt feel overcharged for what was already an expensive repair. Turnaround time was a little longer than originally anticipated because a part took longer to arrive than scheduled, but once the proper part was in the issue was resolved quickly. Im new to Durham and didnt have a go-to auto shop, but looks like Ive found one now.

Being honest and setting the right expectations. They accomadate last minute changes. Once when my car was to be serviced .. they had placed orders for the parts.. and then I wrecked the car. They shipped the parts back on their with own and didnt ask me a thing.

I went to my trusted mechanic shop to have them look over my new to me 2006 Toyota Matrix. I asked specifically for an oil change and a state inspection. In general, I wanted them to look over the car to see if there were any other things I should know about. They did the things I asked. This time, I was relieved to find that nothing else of concern came up. Ill keep going back because they have always been fair and honest, and they have kept my cars running well for many years.

Very quick to address my repair issue and gave me a realistic time frame which they met. They also provided transportation from the facility to my home, and picked me up from home when the repair was complete.

Brought my 2015 Grand Cherokee to this shop due to a grinding/rubbing noise coming from the front drivers side while accelerating on right turn. The tech took the car on a test drive and recommended a replacement of the front passenger wheel bearing as it was making the huming sound and could contribute to the other sound I was hearing. I now no longer have the rubbing noise issue after the replacement. The diagnostic and repair were done right & in a timely manner. I really respect that they dont try to sell you other unecessary maintenance if your car doesnt need it . The price was reasonable, and perhaps lower compared to other shops in the area for my particular repair. The front desk / service advisor, Jacob, was very friendly and honest. This will be my go to shop for future car repairs & maintenance !!!

I am new to the area and needed a mechanic quickly due to a starting issue (electrical). Massengills explained a clear timeline for their expert to evaluate the source of the drain on the battery. At my request, they also performed a multi-point inspection, and the gentleman was even nice enough to call back and inform me that the date/mileage on my oil change sticker indicated that I needed one a while ago (totally slipped my mind). After extensive testing, they identified a minimal problem (most electrical issues are extremely expensive, so this was an opportunity for the dreaded mechanic dishonesty, but not here!), as well as some additional maintenance work, and completed it immediately and at a great price. Overall the service was honest, efficient, and the price was right!!! I also got a very nice welcome letter from the owner the next day, thanking me for my business, offering a coupon for future services, and even outlining a referral program. I will certainly be bringing my vehicle to Massengills for all of my automotive needs while I live in the Triangle area!

(I did not have the repairs done at Massengills b/c I have a Volvo and a trusted mechanic to whom I have gone for years of satisfactory service.)
