George is always so helpful, and has stayed later in the day to work on my car. He is a great guy and doesn’t take advantage of the fact that I am a girl and don’t know much about cars!

I brought my car to them because something was causing my battery to overcharge. I had to get it towed in and they told me that they didnt see anything wrong other than my battery not being able to hold a charge. They told me to try replacing the battery despite it only being 3 months old, but I tried it anyways and the problem is still happening. I went to them because I am a UNH student and it was closest, but Id recommend finding somewhere else if you can.

I brought my car here to get an oil change and one day after they “changed my oil” I got another warning that my oil was low. I traveled maybe 10 miles between leaving the shop and the next warning. I brought my car to a reputable mechanic, who showed me what normal oil looks like verse the oil that was in my car after the “oil change” I got here. Normal oil should be golden and run smoothly, the oil in my car that came out of my car was black. They either did a horrible job or they didn’t do the job at all. I don’t recommend this place to anyone who cares about their car and their safety. No one in the shop wears masks and it’s very unsanitary inside, they lack customer service skills, and besides that and according to other reviews they put peoples safety and the health of automobiles at risk.

I brought my vehicle in for unknown reasons. I was told the fuel rail needed to be replaced. After paying to have this done I picked up my vehicle. The next day I took ot for a short drive. The check engine light came on which was not on when I first brought it to them. I called to let them know the original problem was still at play and now I have a check engine light on. I brought it back to them. They told me after running some tests they believed I had an issue with my exhaust. They were going to take my exhaust down to test this thery. They reported to me that by doing this it concluded there thery and they suggested I bring it to a place that specializes in exhaust work. So I did just that. The new place informed me that Durham Village had cut the bolts to get my exhaust down and so to repair it was going to be much more work do to have to drill out ect to repair the damage they was done by cutting the bolts. No one asked for my permission before cutting bolts. If they could not get the exhaust down they should have informed me and let me bring it to the custom exhaust place rather then creating an additional cost for .e. after all of this is said and done and Ive now had to pay to get my exhaust fixed the original problem as well as the secondary problem of a check engine light 1,000 dollars later is still not resolved. It also took them a week to find a repair a my fuel rail which my father found in half a day. They also didnt bother to inform me that they finally found the part so my father wasted half a day looking for the part for no reason due to Durham village garage inability to communicate with the customer.

About a year ago I came here to get my car (with ~15k miles) inspected and they told me I needed to replace my brake pads and that it would cost upwards of $500. I told them Id take my car to my familys shop back home bc I can get a discount there, but they still charged me for the inspection and said to come back to get the sticker. I took my car to my family shop and the guys there told me there wasnt a single thing wrong with any part of the car, especially the brake pads; he said they looked practically brand new and had no wear and tear whatsoever. I paid another $40 there for the inspection and never went back to Durham village garage. Also I second the other reviewer who said the place was dirty

So, I was working in Durham on the RiverWoods project and I needed an oil change done. Preferably while I was working so I googled “oil change near me “ and Durham Village Garage came up about half a mile from my job site. I called them and they said bring my truck down, I informed them that I needed the truck back by 330-4pm and it was 15 past noon they gave me a price and told me they will call me. I got a call around 2pm saying my truck was ready to go. Truck was good with a reminder sticker, it was a pleasure doing business with these guys. Thank you.

Out of state visiting UNH; pulled in with an odd plastic rubbing sound in wheel well. Its hot as heck outside and just want to know of I can make it back to Boston. George, the owner says theyll take a look. Before I know it, car is on a lift and Im sitting in the waiting area. After 20 minutes, car is fixed, and well. Total charge under $50. And everyone was polite, professional, and communicated well. If I lived in Durham, this is where Id go. Outstanding!

These guys are top notch. When I have work done on my car I always price out the cost of labor and parts on the Internet and these guys have the best prices and labor I have seen. There are also a pleasure to do business with and fun to talk to. They are my top pick to have work done on my car.

I brought my car here twice over the past few years. The first time I brought it in the front right coil spring was broken and needed to be replaced. I asked them to also look at my shifter (its a manual) because it was getting hard to shift. They replaced the coil springs and then charged me 80$ extra for inspecting and lubricating the shifter although it was not improved when I came to pick it up. 3 months later, the shifting linkage completely snapped and I was stranded. This should have been caught by their technicians during their inspection but was not.I made the unwise decision to bring it back to them so they could fix the linkage, but after 5 days of my car sitting and no call back, they said that they couldnt work on VW transmissions and therefore I would have to bring it to a dealer. This should have been disclosed up front.Upon bringing my car to the dealer to get the linkage fixed, it was pointed out that I also had a clearly broken rear coil spring, a hole in my exhaust because of a missing exhaust hanger and my front right brake disc was delaminating and needed to be replaced. I saw all 3 of these issues for myself when the car was on the lift. These issues were all clearly present since before I brought my car to Durham Village Garage the first time should have been noticed by their technicians but was not.Overall the technicians are clearly careless with their work and speed through, missing large problems that will inevitably lead to expensive repairs down the road. The coil springs they replaced started squeaking less than 6 months afterwards, most likely because of a hastily installed bushing or missed lubrication, another result of careless work. Its possible that for local residents this garage does better work, and are only careless with students cars because theyre easier to take advantage of (Im a student), but I would advice you to reconsider choosing this shop either way.

Brought my 2016 Subaru with 16k miles in for an inspection. The car has some very small modifications including axle back exhaust, intake, tune but nothing to effect emissions or trip a check engine light. They put the car up in the air, dont even take the wheels off and fail me for not having mufflers then proceed to charge me $40 for the inspection telling me if I want to put the mufflers back on and bring it back I wont be charged again. There are hundreds of vehicles out there with V8s that are 4x louder than my 4cyl and you have the guts to spend 4 mins with my car and charge me $40.The part that pissed me off the most was how my vehicle was parked. It is a stick shift so they left it on the side of the building with the key in it (keeps radio and dash lights on) for over 2 hours, the seat was lowered to its maximum and slid all the way back like a gangster was driving it. Im 6 tall and I couldnt reach the pedals how it had been left. Very, very disappointed in this garage and it would have been so convenient to deal with them for my inspections since I work on the UNH campus but I will never return to this garage

I went in the other day to get my rear caliper looked at because my car was squeaking really loudly. They told me that I would have to get all new rear calipers, pads, and rotors. I asked them to give me an estimate before they did anything else. They gave me an estimate for $650. I thought that seemed really high, especially because I researched how much money it would cost, and it wasnt higher than $400. I told them I couldnt afford $600, so they put my caliper back on (only one of them had seized, but I needed to get both replaced together).I went to my mechanic today (over two hours away) because he said that $600 was an absurd amount for just the rear calipers, pads, and rotors. He then told me that the caliper on the passenger side (the one that was in fine condition) was purposely messed with and they didnt even bother to screw it on all the way. The one that needed to be fixed was similarly loosened. What this shop is doing is highly unethical and DANGEROUS. My mechanic told me that it was a miracle I made it to his shop before breaking down on the highway. This shop clearly messed with my car and didnt put it back together how it was, so that they would force me to come back, since they are one of the only shops in the area. I get it if your auto shop is not doing well financially, but be honest with your business and dont ruin peoples cars. Youre putting their lives in danger just for the money and the possibility that they might come back. I could have gotten into a serious accident.Oh, and my mechanic fixed everything for $300.Dont come to this place.
