I am so thankful I found Konrad Automotive. I have been here a few times now and have dealt mostly with Ryan. He is always very professional, honest and helpful. Their prices a very fair, they do a great job and are really thorough with their work!Usually I really dislike dealing with any car shops (because of previous poor experiences) but all my experiences with Konrad have been top notch. Ran over a nail, called up Konrad without an appointment this morning and they told me to bring my car on in. Within ten minutes of handing my keys over my tire was already repaired and I wasnt charged a dime. Ill be bringing my car in for all repairs, inspections, and maintenance needs. Theres a reason these guys have such a great rating!

Our experience was great. We had a list of things for them to check on our car and they took care of all if it without taking advantage of us not really knowing anything about cars. I highly recommend that women go here to avoid the scammy mechanics that talk down to you and try to upcharge without reason.(Literally they could have said we needed all new brakes because it was one of the things I asked they check, but they said that they were absolutely fine)

Our old mechanic shop was bought out by a chain that proved to be less than...trustworthy. I tried Konrad Automotive based on the Yelp reviews and was not disappointed! They made an appointment for me, stuck by the time they promised, and did great, affordable work. Will be going back soon for new tires. AND they were really friendly and seemed interested in me an my car. Id recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

Very honest and easy to deal with and great prices. Brought my wife’s car there because it kept stalling in park. They couldn’t replicate the issue but changed the oil, which was overdue, and didn’t charge me a diagnostic fee it. I have had trouble finding a good mechanic in this area and will only take my vehicles to them now.

I sent my car to them because the dealership that I got my car from said that if anything went wrong with the car to send it to Konrads. 08/24 had my car towed to them because it was driving rough like it wanted to cut off. So I thought the car was fixed got it back the next day and the following morning driving home with my son it cut off completely while I was driving. Right in the highway in a blindspot. So the police had to sit there to keep cars from hitting my car.. Again I have the car towed back to Konrads and they stated now that they pretty much replaced the starter and that didnt work and I need to take my car to a dealership. Money was spent for towing and the first repair which and to have to spend more money for another towing and then nothing can be done...*UPDATE *So the owner stated he would work on my car. I appreciated that. My car is running. But two days later the service engine light pops right back on and it is driving rough just as before. And I did not get my money back for the last towing when my car shut off...

I have been to Konrad Automotive several times in the past years and have always been satisfied but since it’s a little way from me I decided to visit a garage in my neighborhood for a bumper issue. The bumper was loose and hanging on both sides, I was told it could not be repaired and I would need a new bumper, at the cost of several hundred dollars. I decided it would be worth the drive to give money to a shop I knew and trusted. After taking my car for about 15 minutes Anthony brought me the keys and said “all fixed, it just needed some new clips”!!They are amazing !!Thank you guys 😀

I took my truck by to have a second opinion about $1,300 repair from another shop to fix several problems. This is a great shop. I have used them several times now and they get the job done with good customer service. I was very impressed with my most recent visit. I was not sure if I had a flat or leaking tire since my dashboard was warning me of low tire pressure. I brought my car in and they checked it out very quickly and told me what I needed to do in the future to reset the gauge. No charge.And on a completely different note, the shop has a very docile and sweet dog named Pepper. She is extremely sweet. My 11 month old was able to play with her while we waited for 15 minutes. Definitely makes this shop memorable/unique.

Ive had nothing but good experiences going with Konrad Automotive. From a stuck windshield to oil changes and break pads, they consistently have fair pricing and stand by their work.

I was stressed when I went to Konrads but they listened to my ramblings about my issue and took my car back for a diagnostic. I was in and out within an hour with them letting me know what my problem was and the solution and they also fixed all the issues that I had alerts for on my dash. They are great and have the best prices, I called around before going to them, in the area. You cant go wrong going to them!!!!

I recently moved to Durham and I needed to find someone to service my car. After looking online, I found Konrad Auto and made an appointment. They inspected my car and gave me a timely and accurate assessment of the problem and provided me with the costs of repairs. Since I was waiting for the car they quickly replace my brake pads and rotors and I was on my way in just over an hour. Anthony was very friendly and professional and provided great service. Great experience, I plan to use Konrad Auto for all my future car repairs.

I called this shop early last week after reading the reviews thought I would give them a try and he told me to come in friday I got there 10 minutes before my appointment which was 9am and waited until almost 10am they never did open I left messages and still have not heard back from them yet very unprofessional!

I went to this place because of the high reviews but it was super disappointing. I went for 2 new tires, an oil change, and new air filters. I dropped the car off at 10am on a Thursday and heard nothing until I called at 5pm that day. They had done the oil change but no tires. I didnt get a call until Friday at 3pm telling me: We didnt get around to it and wont have tires for you. You should come get the car, go get tires somewhere else yourself, and then come back for the alignment. This was disappointing already and when I went to pick up my car after hours they hadnt even put air in the tire that was leaking. So after 2 days they left me my car to pick up after hours with a flat. If I didnt have a compressor in the car I wouldve been stuck here. Pretty terrible service.

I am very impressed with Karl and Anthony. Very straight forward, explained work that was done and gave me some things to keep an eye on. Price was excellent. I checked 10+ repair shops before I came across Konrad Automotive This by far was the best deal. I did not get that feeling like I was about to get taken.

They are knowledgeable, helpful, honest.They have helped me multiple times when I have had unknown issues with my car. They could have over charged me like other shops because of my ignorance of cars but they were honest and genuine to what needed to be fixed in the car!

Great guys, always fix everything fast, very friendly. The only thing is that it isnt always cheap 😂 I had to fix roof drainage which they did in under 15 minutes with no parts needed and I paid a little over $100. So yeah, theres that.Update:I went back to refill my cars a/c today and the owner was very nice to offer a free refill to compensate for the previous visit. Totally fixed the issue! Im very much happy with the way they do business and definitely will be back! 👍

Karl and Anthony are hands down the best independent mechanics in Durham! I have been taking my aging BMW to them for the past four years and they have done an outstanding job keeping it running well. Every time I have needed a major repair, I have always been given a solid and straightforward perspective on repair options. These guys will continue to have my business for many years to come.

During first and second service experiences I have found Karl Konrad to be a good communicator, who has provided reliable good professional repair service on our Toyota. I had great service at Konrad Automotive for routine maintenance. Then I had to have the car towed in--and ended up with some serious repair: head gasket, valve job, timing belt, and then rear struts. Im just so pleased that I could take the car to Konrads because I felt sure that Id get good service and Id know what really needed to be done. Karl and Anthony certainly have customer service alive and well, and prices were reasonable. Ive particularly appreciated the communication what was wrong, what was needed, and about the repair status--I didnt have to call; I was kept updated. Absolutely awesome service.

This place is awesome. Good people. quality work. I took my car in and the issue was kinda tricky. I took it to the dealership first and they misdiagnosed the problem and it wound up crapping out on me again after i spent $200. Rarely do you go to a business (especially an Automotive Repair shop) and walk out feeling like you were treated like family. I took my girlfriends Honda in for an alignment today after getting a new set of tires and Karl (the owner) was friendly, honest and extremely helpful. It was very obvious by our interaction that hes in business not to rip anyone off, but because he enjoys helping people with their vehicles. Not only will I continually recommend this place to others, but I will continue to go in myself. This is NOT a corporate ran Fake Smile-Type business, but a locally run small business that I look forward supporting knowing that my business helps the local economy.

Karl has been servicing our 08 Civic and 04 Camry for several years. He runs a clean, organized shop. Hes an honest and fair mechanic, a hard worker, attentive, and thorough on even minor jobs like oil changes. Karl actually saved me about $2K once. I called him for a second bid on a shock/strut job some AAA goober recommended. Karl checked my car and said I was being taken advantage of. That was 4 yrs ago, and my shocks/struts are still fine. Give the man a call. Youll probably end up making him your permanent go-to guy. I know as long as I live in Durham, Im taking my cars to Karl Konrad.

I do not recommend this automotive service. After I received service I checked around for prices and they charged much more than other places. The part also did not work - though not to their error but all in all - highly disappointed with being overcharged.

Karl and Anthony are responsive and easy to work with, even coming to my house down the street to figure out an issue when I couldnt move the car. I have been working with them for almost 4 years without a hiccup. Theyve done oil changes for me as well as replacing a motor and their timing and ease of access cant be beat. They are honest and make you feel comfortable without all the fluff that most dealerships have. Its clear they do good work and rely upon that, not upcharges and unneeded recommendations. Highly recommend using this small but competent and welcoming mechanic for all your needs, big and small.

Brought our car here for an oil change and leak. Tried them from a recommendation from a friend. Picked it up and the oil leak was not fixed, the car did not run right at all, and the check engine light was on. Took it back to the guy we normally go to and they did not hook up two hoses, they broke two of the spark plugs doing the tune up, and did not connect some of the electrical back properly causing multiple electrical problems, and did not diagnose a simple oil leak correctly. It cost $750, then another $1000 to fix the mess they made and the oil leak I already paid to have them fix. Stay away.

We have gone to Konrad Automotive three times. Each time we got great service in a timely fashion at a reasonable price. We trust Karl Konrad and plan to go there again.

I am new to the area and after having not one but two separate issues with my 2012 Chevy Cruze Lt I both times I brought my car to Konrad Automotive and have to say I am extremely impressed with the professionalism and efficiency at which this shop is run. Anthony explains everything he is going to do with the car. He gives you a reasonable time frame and they are always willing to work with you as far as scheduling and getting the job done. Im originally from New Jersey and I was afraid when I moved down here I wouldnt be able to find the kind of mechanic I have with Konrad Automotive. My engine light came on on a Friday and all I can think about is that the Tuesday coming up Im moving to Raleigh. Worst time to have car trouble. I got to Konrads an hour before they closed and they took the car and had it back to me in tip top shape before noon Monday morning because they new I would be moving the next day. I do wish they were open on the weekends. That can be kind of stressful, especially since it was a quick fix, But its so worth it as far as price is concerned. Hendricks quoted me at $1400.00 for diagnostic, labor, and parts. Anthony had it back to me with a solid price of $155.00 because he was able to diagnose what the problem really was rather than try to swindle me for my money. Theyre always very courteous, professional, and kind. Its also always a pleasure to chill out with pepper the black lab while youre in the waiting room. Long story short? If youre having car trouble, take your car to Konrads. Im half tempted the next time I have a problem having my car towed there from Raleigh. As Long as I can be, Ill be a customer.

Konrad Automotive is the first shop I came to in Durham. Mr. Karl and his partner were very professional and provided excellent service. After initial inspection, Mr. Karl came back with not-so-good news: an alternator replacement and break fluid leaks. The estimated cost started at $1025, as he said he might run into more problems when he runs the brake line. One and a half day later, everything was done, and I was pleasantly surprised to know that I only owe him $950. I would highly recommend Konrad to anyone who needs their car fixed at a reasonable cost!

Karl was great! Jiffy Lube told me that I needed to replace my brake pads at my last oil change and Karl told me the truth- my brake pads were fine. Will be taking my car back here in the future. Thanks Karl & co.!

This is the only car repair place in Durham that I will ever trust with my car. Karl Konrad is not only a good mechanic, but hes also honest and not in the business of ripping people off. Also, from my first visit, Karl and his team treated me like a regular. Really great guys.My trouble started with a leaky radiator, which AAA wanted to charge me nearly $1000 to replace (among other problems they said they found with my car). I went to another place to have my radiator replaced, but my car was still making a strange noise after. My car was making a propeller-like noise when I went over 20 mph, and it was really loud on the highway. When I took it back to that place, they said nothing was wrong. I knew something was wrong and thats when I went to Karl. Within a few minutes of looking at it, he knew the trouble was a wheel bearing that needed to be replaced. He kept it over night and even loaned me a car from their lot so I could go to work. He charged me at a reasonable price, and kept me updated. Whats funny is that when AAA looked at my car, they didnt even find the wheel bearing problem. They said the sound was from a worn alternator belt, which was actually fine! Turns out they were adding on things to try to rip me off! Glad I went to Karl instead.For someone like me who is new to the area, it means a lot to have a mechanic I can trust who wont rip me off. Its safe to say that Konrads Auto is the only place I will ever take my car to in Durham. My car drives like new now!

Called Konrad Automotive regarding engine work on a BMW 328i XDrive. The gentleman on the other line stated that they worked on BMWs I then advised him of the issue I was having and he said he wasnt interested and hung up the phone. This place is almost walking distance from my home and I considered going to them for other repairs, but I have changed my mind.
